The main reception staff were horrible, they don’t understand the concept of customer service. Always reception calls were received and delay in service, even room service staff were incompetent. I needed to complain and then management staff named nusrat was the only one who was professional. Staff like in the main desk names Rafi was horrible and rude. They hang up on calls and probably one of the worst breakfasts in my travels. They have no variety, the staff at the restaurant were not professional or didn’t even try to have different options. I was so disappointed in my stay! I thought vip Expedia rating so I tried Amari! I will never ever set foot in that hotel again. Worst experience by far.

Guests are not allowed after certain hours

There is a strict no guest policy after certain hours. This was not mentioned during check in.

Security guards didn’t handle the situation well at all and started treating me like I have committed a crime. Reception was nice and explained the policy politely.

This should’ve been mentioned in advance as I have never faced this at any hotels around the world.

This was my husband’s first visit to Dhaka from the USA, and considering Covid, we wanted to stay at a place that would work out for our family. Cleanliness plus safety were our first priorities. We were pleasantly surprised that Amari was very well kept and maintained the Covid guidelines.
The security at the entrance made us feel safer. The folks at the concierge and front desk staffs were extremely attentive and helpful. The room was spacious and squeaky clean. All the amenities were working and the bed was comfortable.
We had breakfast every day and did not have any issues (tummy aches that we experienced before at other places). The food was yummy and healthy options were there that we loved. Fresh omelette and dosa/aloo paratha were our favorites that were made to perfection!
We also hosted a family dinner at Amaya on Jan 4th. Mr. Raihan was our host and he was phenomenal at helping out our elderly family members. Food was very good and everyone enjoyed the ambiance. Great memories!
Amari also assisted us with the airport pickup and drop off. The entire experience to and from the Dhaka airport could trigger migraine to anyone, but our driver Shimul was fun to be with and he went above and beyond to help us!
Overall, Amari and Amaya made our trip to Dhaka really pleasant and we appreciated everyone who we remembered and couldn’t name here! Thank you for everything!

The treatment as this hotel was not 5 star worthy. The pool was closed to all guests from 2pm - 5pm to accommodate another group staying there, and even after 5pm hotel guests were not allowed to bring in any outside guests within reason to use the pool. NOT A SINGLE ONE. Breakfast, which is standard complimentary in many lesser hotels was not complimentary here. When asked why, they had no reason other than “its our policy”... i politely asked they share feedback with management. If i knew some or these things before hand i would not have stayed here. On the plus side, the quality of the food was good.

Good hotel for a business stay (my 4th stay). Nicer rooms than the Westin but hotel lacks an executive lounge. Security seems pretty good with checks of vehicles and people entering. Bathroom amenities are cheap so bring your own!

Excellent spa, hotel refuses to call taxis

A nice hotel in the modern area of Dhaka, a truly excellent spa (authentically Thai in its technique) where prices can be reasonable if you get a special promotion, good restaurant (Amaya) upstairs, which is also reasonably priced if you get a discount. Cascade downstairs is also very good for a taste of local and excellent (if expensive) coffees. A minus to consider is hotel’s refusal to call taxis – they are not easily available in the streets and Uber does not work well in Dhaka. Unlike food and spa, hotel’s cars are not reasonably priced (a multiple of four to the market). Budget extra time to find a taxi in the streets of Gulshan.

I liked my stay at the Amari Dhaka. It is a clean, modern hotel with attentive service and spacious rooms. Our room even came equipped with a fridge, small hot plate and microwave so it would be good for long stays. The rooftop pool and bar are very nice although the pool needed a good cleaning during my stay. Avoid the 12th floor rooms as the restaurant on the 13th floor causes noise below in the evening and morning.

I was angry as soon as I walked in and talked to the reception about my room. The service is VERY poor and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone unless it is paid for by your company. The required a $100 deposit, and after checking out \"forgot\" to refund the amount. I still don't have it back in my account. Just don't go here...period.

It is a great hotel but certainly overpriced particularly buffet dinner and breakfast are very expensive. They should have given a couple of reasonable options as well. I am not asking for budget prices but 50 USD is too much for a dinner in Bangladesh.

The hotel is more of a boutique hotel but staff is definitely 5 star.The hotel is very clean, very nice wooden floors in the rooms and the restaurants are up to the mark.Linens very nice and shower is rain shower typeThe breakfast buffet is excellent.
Really nobody needs more than this in a business hotel.

For sure it is one of the best hotels in Dhaka. Bathroom should be improved. It was not clean and some parts was rusted. Also shower head was so many dirt on it.. I gave wake up call 2 times but never called. Overall it was good. Especially gym area was good and Ms. Suma is one of the best trainers i have ever met..

To be honest, first night was shocking. No hot water, managers who were not prepared to understand and made me consider leaving early. After finally meeting with the one duty manager on day 2 he made the difference. After that we felt like guests and were looked after.

Took a 2 week trip to Bangladesh and staying at 2 other hotels prior, this was hands down the best hotel yet. The location, decor, hospitality, intricate detail and overall service made this hotel one of my top pick of the hotels i've visited thus far. The food was delicious, the pool had great views, the interior of the hotel including our rooms were stunning. Wish we could've stayed longer, but we'll definitely be back.

I loved the gentleman in the sherwani greeting us every time we got back to the hotel and Rubel at the front desk was such a great help.

I would have to point out that the cost of food is a bit overpriced in my opinion. We checked out several restaurants in the area that were terrific but the cost of food at the Amari could've been better.

One of the best hotels in dhaka

A very brief write up - this is the third time I stayed at Amari and must say I like it more each time I stay there. It is in a central location, yet very quite and peaceful. Has a great ambience, really friendly and helpful staff, great facilities and in the evenings it has a great bar on the rooftop to socialise and meet friends.

Good but could be better!

It was a comfortable stay at Amari Dhaka - rooms were big and staff were attentive to guests' needs. However, though the breakfast spread was rather extensive, the food wasn't exactly delicious. Overall, still good hotel for business travelers to consider.

The room and the hotel in general is nice but the attitude of the staff is quite terrible.

The staff is more concerned about the charges rather than the service. The first thing you hear when you request for any service be it a car or anything else they respond that it is going to cost you so much. On top of that the service requested for is not delivered on time - still their only concern is the charge.

They refused to even let me speak to a manager when I wanted to complain

Best place to stay in Dhaka

Good hotel. Hotels in Dhaka are too expensive but Amari is more reasonable than others and surely one of the best. Location is good, the hotel is new, only 2 years old, and the amenities are decent. It's quite small, but for me that's no problem. I far preferred this to the Pan Pacific where I stayed last year. One thing I found disappointing is that the hotel try to make an extra buck wherever possible. If you want to travel, the management only permit use of the hotel shuttle car - this is wrong. They should assist guests in arranging public taxi, CNG or rickshaws - the latter two are the best way to get around Dhaka!

The rooftop bar is nice in the evening. We watched the final of the 2016 Asia Cup there on the weekend and it was a nice send off. It was just a pity that the Tigers couldn't beat India in the final!

Great service and good amenities from the Amari in Dhaka. The hotel was still in a soft-opening phase, and it showed as there was still quite a bit of construction happening. Fortunately, that happened mostly during the daytime, so it was never particularly disruptive. The room was more than big enough and the bed was very comfy, but the shower was by far my favorite - love the waterfall shower!

This is a great Hotel considering what you pay for the known 5Star hotels. it is not officially open yet and still sorting a few minor details (ie no alcohol licence). Rooms are spotless, Food is excellent and the staff are very professional. Watch the extra's. Room rates are great but you do pay heavy FOR THE EXTRA';S.
