Western guests stay higher floor, Asian esp. Taiwanese stays at lower floor. It makes asian guests racism.

It's hard to believe that this hotel is only 7 years old. Lots of wear and tear. Staying in a family room with two queen-size beds on the 11th floor. The bed was clearly well slept on; the springs showed signs of tiredness. The laminate floor had two big loose pockets, hollow underneath the floor. We stayed at the hotel 3 years ago when it was only 4 years old; there were stains on the hallway carpet. The bedroom is clean enough, but the toilet had a hint of urine smell. The breakfast has plenty choices, as usual in Taiwan hotels, the beacons were not the American crispy pan fried style, but steam soaked in water. Apart from that, abundant choices . staff is friendly
We Probably will try other hotels next time we're in Tainan.

Overall, the stay was fine, but not great. We had two rooms, one for us + kids, the other for sister in law. No major issues with our room but sister in law's room toilet leaked - that's why overall 3 stars.

Pros:
Great location
Nice, spacious rooms (notwithstanding leaky toilet)
Price/value was reasonable
Gym was nice, pool was great (kids loved it)
Free parking
Breakfast pretty good
Staff helpful and polite

Cons:
Wife unimpressed by the cleanliness. I thought it was pretty clean.
None of us slept well. I think because 1) they only had fairly thick blankets so you either had to blast the AC, or turn it quite low and basically not use the blankets, and 2) pillows were not comfortable.
Booked for two adults, with breakfast for two adults. We had our three kids with us (10, 6, 4). We're used to places including the kids for free or half price. They based it on height, and only our 4 year old was free. I suppose that is relatively reasonable (just a different arbitrary rule that happened to work against our tall kids) but they wanted to charge $630 TWD per person for our two older kids, which in Taiwan would be insanity given how cheap and good and ubiquitous breakfast options are just outside the hotel.

Beakfast was the best I ever have had, huge, but mostly for asian people but I (european) could find a lot to eat. I travel alone so the size of the room was ok I had a dubble bed, perhaps for 2 persons it is too small. I like that tre room had a balcony. The pool is big. The lobby is beatiful. No bottled water but there is water in the corridor so you can fill the big bottle which is in the room. The cleankeeper was very busy and come late when I was already back and needed to rest. I liked the location, it was easy to walk in many places. I would choose Lakeshore Hotel Tainan again if I come back to Tainan.

Staff was great. The room was pretty basic with a some wear showing but it was clean. I was disappointed only two pillows were provided and the towels weren’t the best quality but they were clean. I think this hotel is a great value and I wouldn’t stay here again but my girlfriend probably wouldn’t.

I was impressed with breakfast buffet. It’s very expansive, run efficiently and food quality is good.

We stayed for six nights in the Deluxe Family Room.

The room was clean, and the lobby and reception staff were somewhat friendly. They did not smile much or speak in a particularly warm tone, but they were professional and did their jobs without making guests feel uncomfortable.

The amenities were good. There is a gym, an outdoor swimming pool, and an indoor sauna. The outdoor pool water temperature was about 19°C, even though the outdoor temperature was around 26°C, so it is likely not usable during the winter season. However, the indoor sauna facilities were available and well equipped, including both wet and dry saunas, a hot tub (39–40°C), and a cold tub (13–14°C). The sauna areas for men and women were separate.

One thing to note is that children under 16 are not allowed in the sauna area at all. We stayed with a 7 year old child, so my husband and I either had to take turns using the sauna or skip it, as taking turns every day took quite a bit of time.

We prepaid for breakfast, and it was delicious with a wide variety of options to choose from. The cleaning staff was very friendly, and the location was also very convenient, right next to a Shin Kong Mitsukoshi department store.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

Overall it is a good experience. The location is ok, within the walking distance to a road where we find the food stalls. The room is big and clean. On the second floor they have spa, we had a nice time there.

The staff is supportive, we said we felt cold, the staff came and couldn’t adjust the temperature, she then provided us a heater. Thank you for your help.

The downside of the room is that there is no division between the bed and the bathroom, if the bathroom light is on, it is bright

早餐餐點豐富且每日菜色都會有一些變化, 也有許多在地的特色餐點蠻不錯的.
不過意外的餐點沒有搭配牛奶的脆穀片, 通常提供西式早餐的大飯店會有提供.

飯店內的停車場車位有點不足, 週六晚上十點多活動結束回去遇到地下停車場滿場只剩少量機械停車位, 後面也還有四台車在後面等待入場.
因為車型無法停入機械停車位只能改停放附近的特約停車場再走路回飯店, 有點麻煩.

Sometimes toilet papers and napkin inside the room were not refilled when it is low.

The paper notice inserted by housekeeping at around 11am’ish is quite annoying. It is like rushing the clients to get out.

I enjoyed my stay here at Lakeshore! I stayed for 3 nights. Check-in was efficient, the staff was helpful with my luggage, and the room was clean and tidy. Housekeeping came by daily to fix up the room.

I had included breakfast in my stay, which was a large buffet, unlike continental breakfasts in American hotels. They had fresh food and continued to bring out more food once something ran out. They were fast to clean and help.

Good location too — walkable to the local bus stops and a lot of dining areas nearby. Would recommend if you’re in the area.

1. three non-yellow taxis refused to give us the services after hotel staff spoke with them. This happened on Monday, November 10 around 10:10. What happened to this hotel??
2. Damaged pavers in front of hotel need to be replaced with similar pavers instead of patching with cement. They look so ugly!
3. No water bottles provided to the guest. JR Metropolitan Premier Hotel provides two water bottles per guest per day.
