We did not find out that the restaurant and continental breakfast were not available until we arrived due to construction. We should have been advised when we booked the hotel. Upon check-in, no one told us that there were cold breakfast items available in the office. Also, was a little disappointed to find that check-in time ended so early.

We booked this place for college graduation weekend at nearby Potsdam. Everything closer to Potsdam was already booked and priced astronomically. We booked in December for May, so well in advance. Exactly 1 week before check-in day I received a phone call from the hotel letting me know that the kitchen was undergoing a renovation and only continental breakfast was served. Bummer, because we were counting on included hot breakfast. No discount was offered, I was actually told that I could cancel my booking. 1 week before graduation weekend, sure! We checked in around 8pm. Room was warm, AC was off. AC units are severely outdated - 20 years old plus. Room was clean and OK otherwise. Bed was quite uncomfortable. Overall this hotel is ok to crash for 1 night, but overpriced for what it is. $211 total per night with no breakfast - should be $150 max.

The hotel was completely empty and we booked on Expedia, the last minute so we could see my daughter in a special group home on her birthday. We asked if we could have a room on the water, everytime we go to the hotel we get it, they said since we booked on Expedia the rate difference they would not allow, it was $40 more but empty.

The restaurant attached to the hotel should NOT be overlooked. With a wonderful view over the water, aged wood trim, phenomenal menu, and friendly staff, it was a welcome spot to dine and have a drink.
After 8 hours on the road, this spot was a great place to unwind.
It is the one place we stayed on this trip that sticks out in our minds.

Everything was excellent. The breakfast was hot and fresh daily. The Restaurant is outstanding. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The view from the room was magnificent. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. I slept soundly and woke up refreshed. The only thing was that on check in, the young man didn’t seem to know that they provided bottles of water in the room. He sent us up the highway to buy some. Enjoyed our stay immensely. I wish we could bring our little dogs though then we would book a longer trip.

My husband and I have stayed at the Inn at Gran View Ogdensberg three times and it has always been a pleasure. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The restaurant is lovely and the service is great the food is delicious! We recommend staying here.

The property was definitely clean and the room was updated. The rest of the facility seemed clean but a little outdated. Doors to the hallway and adjoining room are paper thin. Hear conversation in the other room and screaming kids / slamming doors. Once everyone was asleep it was very quiet. Hot breakfast alright.

We loved it here and can't wait to return. Every staff person we encountered was friendly and helpful. The restaurant was great. Our room overlooked the river, and we enjoyed watching the passing ships. We wandered down the manicured lawns to the river's edge, where we discovered the comfortable decks and chairs. We kept marveling at how lucky we were to discover this hotel.

The location was amazing and the views are stunning. The building is nicely decorated but very creaky, and upstairs neighbors footsteps can easily be heard. The bedding was clean, but the bed was very stiff. The soap offered in the room caused an allergic reaction on my face ( I'm not allergic to anything), lasting for days, so bring your own soap. The restaurant is not open on Sunday and there is no food for 3 miles. They offer games on the lawn, have a pool and is just a small walk to the river!

It was lovely being in viewing distance of the St. Lawrence River. We really enjoyed sitting out on the balcony to read. But I would definitely bring bug spray next time. The best part of the Inn was that the outdoor pool was open so we could swim before heading off to Graduation festivities.

We love the St. Lawrence, so we were very happy to be close enough to experience the river. We enjoyed the free breakfast. The room was clean. We got a two double bed room. There is a separate door to the bathroom and the area with the fridge and sink. That room had a dehumidifier in it and was really warm when it ran. I had to shut the door to that room to keep the sleeping area cold enough. I didn’t love that. The shower had great pressure.

I never leave a review, but i felt I needed to this time. I was uneasy about staying at a roadside motel/inn. However, this experience was great. The grounds, room, staff and view were excellant. We were only going to stay 1 night, but we extended it to 2 because we liked it so much.
Also, the restaurant on site was great and reasonabley priced. Oh, and did I mention the view??
