Newly renovated rooms and hotel with breakfast and a pool helped us select this hotel in Brockville. Location is great, and renovations are certainly underway, but not complete. The front office is in a guest room temporarily and the main floor is in full renovation mode. Our room was well appointed and very clean. The staff were lovely and helpful, however, clearly understaffed at the moment with the additional needs and changes for guests. Thankfully the pool remained open and the breakfast was a great addition we were thankful along the way of our travel! I look forward to staying again once the renovations are fully complete.

Overall a solid 8.
Was under construction during our stay. They tried with the breakfast but I guess because of the construction they had to down size the buffet and had the very basics.
Had an issue overnight with people screaming and swearing in the hallway which was pretty scary considering I had a 2 year old in the room - spoke to the front desk staff and they spoke with the people involved.

For the amount of Money I spend I expect to have hot water for a shower in the morning. Not having hot water is totally inexcussble. Staff was indifferent to me because I’m not a member of their points program. Stay away from Brockville Holiday Inn Express. They don’t deserve your business.

The breakfast wasn't good at all. Very little fruit, and the fruit wasn't fresh. Considering there was a No Frills grocery store near by, I was expecting fresh food. Most of the items were microwaved.
Our room was clean, but shower wouldn't turn off,. So we had to switch rooms. One reason I booked the holiday Inn is to take a swim in the pool, but the pool wasn't maintained very well. It had a layer of scum floating on the surface. My girl friend and I wanted a quiet relaxing evening after a long 7 hour drive from Sarnia. That didn't happened. I spent a good portion of the evening moving to another room above our original room. Quite frankly I was expecting way better. The shower was nice and hot, but I couldn't get the water to turn off. The bed was the only thing that was good.. Very comfortable.
I think I was too generous on the star rating for this place; I should have given it a 2 star rating.
Oh and also the renovations that they were doing made it feel like more like a construction site than a hotel. They started the renovations on the 1st. of April 1/2026. I booked this place two or so weeks before this date. So I can't understand why they couldn't inform of the renovations when I booked the room. The whole evening was a bust. I was looking forward to a nice breakfast and that didn't happened either.

Quand nous sommes arrivés hôtel était dans des rénovations le déjeuner pas de buffet et la chambre pas adapté pour recevoir une personne à mobilité réduite duites manque de service et en plus un bain la personne n’a plus se laver nous sommes partis une journée avant car vu tout ça aucun plaisir de tester la personne responsable est au courant elle devait me rappeler dans la journée de hier pour rembourser une nuit j’ai pris cette hôtel à cause du buffet et la grande chambre très très déçu j’attends toujours le remboursement et l’appel j’espère que vous pourrez m’aider de votre part merci

We did have a good time and the staff were really nice. We were really disappointed because one of the reason we stayed here was for the pool and both nights we stayed the pool was closed by 6pm even though it was supposed to be open until 10pm. There also wasn’t any wifi and limited service due to switching providers.

Hotel located in a nice area just off the 401 highway with lots of restaurants and several fast food restaurants very close in walking distance, gas stations. Hotel and room very nice, clean and staff welcoming. Breakfast is great, breakfast staff Hope Thane very nice, helpful and cooperative. Overall a nice hotel to stay at.

The staff was courteous. The buffet breakfast was good. Liked our room #313 but the one bed needs a new mattress. It was sunk in the middle, I felt like a weiner in a bun. The refrigerator needs to be cleaned. There was a dirty plastic cup sitting by the microwave, which we put in the garbage.

Staff was amazing! Check in was easy. The rooms were spacious. The only opportunities that are being missed are cleanliness of the room, our room’s couch was covered in another guest’s hair fallout. The other opportunity was the elevators made really weird noises after a few uses throughout the day, kind of off-putting, but luckily the hotel doesn’t have many floors so we leveraged the stairs when needed.

The pool wasn't working; the breakfast is kinda meh, the rooms are so dry that the polyester sheets give you shocks if you move the sheets while lying in bed; and the the second TV in the room (in the sitting area) didn't work. Also, the front desk staff look very sloppy and unprofessional with faded blue, oversized t-shirts.

The hotel was under renovation when we were there. It was not clean because of it.
Although the breakfast was tasty, you had to move about to get it. The space was not adequate for the number of people using it.
Using the TV was a two remote process. Not user friendly.

One of the reasons we prefer the Holiday Inn is the quality of the breakfasts and the selection available.
But the best part is always the staff. They are obviously trained to interact with guests and to anticipate and respond to their needs. All of the staff, from every department, were excellent.
