We stayed for 2 nights n there was no hot water, we used cold water, I did not like that at all, was so disappointed, the location is ok n price , the manager was friendly thou n tried to explain that they had one of the pipes burst thats y there was no hot water, breakfast was 10/10

The location is good.
WiFi in the room was terrible! Couldn’t chat with friends and family or share pics. Breakfast was mediocre. Free parking is insufficient and along main streets...doesn’t seem to be safe. Paid parking in the basement is very expensive and place is untidy. Overall I was disappointed with the hotel. It wasn’t value for money.

Very nice property, new in last year or two. Good breakfast provided with yogurt, eggs, sausage, juices, breads, etc.
Loved the easy location to walking around the town.
Housekeepers were friendly and helpful.
I was upgraded which really delighted me.

Overall I was happy with the facility. It is at a convenient place.
However, for the first time in our more than 30 years of marriage, we slept apart on twin beds. I did not like it. I understand however that it was a compromise as places were fully taken up.
The other issue was the breakfast. Two times I could not get what I asked because it was finish or so. I however understand also as I learned later that some clients were taking to their rooms after eating, not minding about others. That might have made the management of resources difficult.

Tainted by pickpocketing

The hotel itself was very good in terms of comfort and amenities, however my aunt got her phone stolen as we were checking in and the CCTV only records behind the desk where the staff are. CCTV of the reception area maybe could have helped. The attitude we got from the duty manager was sorry but its not our fault. I would stay again but definitely will be more vigilant and take my own bags to my room.

Very nice rooms but no nice views.

This was an overnight stay in a pleasant hotel which shares its entrance with some commercial offices and is obviously set up to draw in business travellers rather than holiday makers. That being said it was a very comfortable experience. The rooms were spacious and pleasant and had a stocked mini bar, tea and coffee making facilities and the bathrooms had spacious showers and were stocked with everything needed. There were break out areas and a terrace but unfortunately no views of the sea front. Although this and the shops were in easy walking distance. Breakfast was nothing to write home about but sufficient although sometimes the service was a little slow. One of our party lost a mobile phone in transit from the vehicle to the room it may not have been hotel staff ... but beware of over helpful porters, this hotel has a shared entrance.

An excellent hotel. Staff were attentive. Roof terrace had lovely view. Breakfast plentiful and in particular the omelette was great. We visited the \"sister hotel' with equally friendly staff. The only disappointment was that the fog had rolled in and we were unable to enjoy the view. Make the most of any views if it is not foggy !

Solid Hotel Choice

A really solid hotel choice. Very central location, two blocks from the beach and easy walk from most of the good shops and restaurants. Nice breakfast, welcoming and professional staff, all the mod cons. Wifi was slow, as it often is in Namibia.

Nice hotel with all the commodities you expect

Overall it was a very nice stay; the hotel is rather new with all amenities and commodities you can expect from a 4 star hotel. It is conveniently located within walking distance to most places including the jetty and supermarkets.
Excellent omelette at breakfast! Staff was helping for booking activities.
Nothing bad to report... i would gladly stay again there if i were to return to swakopmund! I absolutely recommend this hotel.

One of Swakopmund's best hotels

The Plaza is quite new, quite clean, quite comfortable, and the staff are excellent. The location is great for convenience - central to most of the town's tourist-focused restaurants and shops, and three or four blocks from the beach - but not especially aesthetically pleasing. If you want views, try the Beach Hotel (the Plaza's 'sister') or the Strand, or the priciest rooms at the Zum Kaiser. Breakfast is excellent and there's a pleasant courtyard to sit and have a cocktail or coffee in the afternoon, though again the view in the courtyard is bricks and steel, not dunes or ocean. The wifi is usually excellent, but on this stay it was exceedingly slow. Every hotel in Swakop seems to have severe wifi problems at times. The managers need to get together and lobby Telecom, the national telco provider, to improve service reliability. The Ministry of Tourism could help, I expect, and I can't imagine anyone staying at places of this quality (the Plaza is probably in the top-ten for 'luxury' in Swakop) would object to paying another N$100 or so per night to get reliable wifi.

Quirky modern hotel with great staff

I stayed three nights and was delighted with my room. It almost seemed like two rooms and there was a shower big enough to play football in. I didn't actually try but I imagine you could. The room was spotlessly clean and the bed very comfortable indeed. The breakfast was more than adequate and eggs were done to order with plenty of tea or coffee as well. To a certain extent it feels like the hotel is in the middle of a small shopping centre but don't let that put you off as the hotel is actually very good indeed.

Best wifi in Swakop, I think.

For great views, the Beach Hotel is the best in Swakop. For comfort, restaurant choice and high-end service, go to the Strand Hotel. Hotel Zum Kaiser has fantastic soaking tubs and some rooms with partial ocean views. But the Plaza is clean, comfortable, centrally located -- and has reliable wifi, which is a rarity in this town! Not even the Strand offers that, and most places allow you 300MB or something, when the connection is working. Of course, the Plaza is hostage to Telecom Namibia like everyone else...

Honestly, for a great vacation experience I'd probably take the Beach Hotel, because you can hear the waves from your room, and see the ocean and the dunes from the roofdeck -- and from your room, if you pay up for the 'sea view' room. And the Beach has an amazing breakfast. But if you need to get work done, or want to pull downloads, the Plaza's the place - and they're an easier walk to more of the local restaurants and shops, and the museum.

The service is friendly and professional, and the breakfast is good. (The Beach and Strand have amazing breakfast buffets if that's one of your criteria.) The rooms are bigger than France, smaller than the USA, and entirely comfortable.

Wished we'd had more time in Swako, as both the town and the hotel were unexpectedly splendid. The town seems perfectly idiosyncratic, with a mix of tradition and edge, comfort and adventure. And the Plaza hotel captured this perfectly, with a creative, contemporary style that evokes urban chic in an outdoor adventureish way
