The staff is friendly but the hostel in a very bad shape. The window of the room was broken and couldn't close properly, which implied constant noise all night (the hotel faces a very busy street). There isn't anyone after 9 pm at the reception, making it impossible to get assistance. Overall not a great experience, one gain to spend a night a bit further from center to get a better stay.

Don't stay in room 310. The night, 5 October 2025, it was raining heavily. The raindrops dropped on the roof to make serious noise. You can see the pictures with my finger pointing where the noise came from. The problem can be solved easily by just covering the roof with carpet but the management doesn't do so. After 10 pm that night when the rain stopped, I could sleep.

A great stay at this property. The room was clean and modern and had everything you needed. Staff were friendly and helpful. You are right by the port which is handy and the bus station is a 5 minute walk away. The old town is about a 40 minute walk or you can get the bus. I would recommend this place.

Wonderful city and experience. Excellent location, close to sea, the port , the historic area, the best restaurants. Also chic, Kind people , clean tiny rooms.,Needs a hand of fresh paint in some spots and an update of the common terrace . There should be a notice against noisy People but that is people, not the hostel.

Basic but clean hotel. A bit away from the old city but the local bus is nearby. It is very handy if you are going on to a Island cruise as its right by the port. There are a number of restaurants near for lunch dinner or breakfast. ATMs, chemist and supermarket also are a short walk away

Would consider staying again, like area, property very practical - facilities work, staff helpful. Entry and exit to hostel a bit of an issue - Vehicles delivering to business downstairs and attitude of drivers to people wishing to safely pass to street. But I have an injury affecting mobility so it may be a trifle for others.

This property is very convenient to the main bus station and the port. You have to go around to the back of the building to find the door. This was not obvious to me. I mistook a loading door for a store downstairs for the door to the hotel.

I checked in and saw room floor was covered in dust, breadcrumb, dried pieces of noodle, and hair everywhere , duvet was dirty and shoved in the cupboard without duvet cover.
I informed the cleaner to mop the floor she said ok but when I came back it was the same.
I went to bed at night and couldn't sleep because my body was itchy, next day I have red spots all over my body, it could be bedbugs bites. I booked for three nights but I only slept there for 2 and stayed with a friend because it was not easy to sleep on the bed with bugs.

This hostel is wonderful. The rooms are spacious and clean with private bathroom. The reception lady was amazing kind and helpful. Hostel though it should be called hotel is well located. Close to shops buses port of Dubrovnik. We had a lovely stay and really comfortable sleep. We only stayed 1 night but I wouldn’t hesitate to stay longer next time. Really cannot fault anything about the hostel.

The staff were amazingly helpful and accommodating. The Hostel is close to a major grocery store, open air market, shopping mall, on a really good public bus route and a 5 minute walk to the main bus station that is the departure point for the airport shuttle. It was reasonably priced and I would definitely stay there again.

The location is close to the Dubrovnik Brewery, restaurants and the bus stop to catch the 1a, 1b or 3 bus to Old Town. Although the 2 twin beds were pushed together, it would have been better to have a full one mattress instead of 2 separate ones.

Good location for city centre

This hostel is well located for the harbour and local craft beer brewery. It took about half an hour to complete a pleasant walk into the city centre. The old town is worth a visit, of course, and is kept very clean with plenty of references to Game of Thrones. The accommodation was basic, modern and very clean. Just right for a quick stay.

Highly recommended hostel in Dubrovnik

I stayed 4 nights, in a single room, at this very modern hostel. It was a very comfortable stay. The hostel was a bit of a distance from the old town but the buses are fairly regular with two separate stops nearby. There are several cool bars, a supermarket and places to eat near the hostel too. I recommend Hostel Sol to anyone on a budget or on a short stay like myself.

Hotel was nice, however we had a huge issue at check in! I booked for 3 people, 3 beds and confirmation said 2 rooms with private bath! When we checked in the agent gave us one room 402 within the 402/403 room so we tried to open door 403 too but it won’t open. I went back down to explain and the agent said no we only have one room 402 which has two single beds. So where is the 3rd bed I asked and I showed him the reservation confirmed 2 bedrooms which would be 403. But he insisted that I would have to book another room!! I finally asked him to call his manager coz we were spending too much time trying to resolve it! He did and said his boss told Him to give us 402 - also he told us that we have 403 and might have to share the bathroom with 402! It was a nightmare! Finally we got 402/403 and the private bath! This was the biggest issue other than that the stay was good! It boils down to how staff manages issues that they create!

Overnight after returning to Dubrovnik to get flight home. Recently reopened. Good value, not far from the bus station for a No7 not the old town. 30 min walk to Lapud for beaches and great selection of restaurants. On a busy road and entrance is around the back but great value for money

City fathers are a greedy bunch!

I have to say the stay at the hotel was the best part of my visit to Dubrovnik. After visiting the ancient fort that has been turned into an overpriced shopping mall with dozens of restaurants and high high entry fees to each historical building, I came back to hotel thoroughly disappointed.
The young woman on staff helped me reorganize my schedule with visits to botanical gardens, islands, a museum explaining Croatian communism and great restaurants outside the walled city. She saved my trip.
Highly recommend Hotel Sol (i know the name says Hostel but it's really a hotel). Highly suggest you take a pass on Dubrovnik!

I had a wonderful experience at Hostel Sol, Ani and Andrea the front desk girls were very nice, helpful and patient.
The location is perfect, walking distance to everywhere, two blocks from the airport bus station, extremely convenient, a taxi/Uber ride can be a bit expensive.
Close to restaurants, grocery stores, bar, Dubrovnik port right in front, it was clean, good breakfast
I’m coming back next year and I will stay there again.

We booked to stay at Hostel Sol for one night. The reviews looked great, the photos looked to show nice modern rooms, so even though it was technically a hostel we booked. On arriving to Hostel Sol we were told they were actually full, despite us having booked a room through Expedia, and therefore they were sending us down the street to their sister hotel, Hotel Petka. On arriving to Hotel Petka it looked fine, definitely not as clean or modern as Hostel Sol, but good enough for one night. However, once we got to our floor it looked like we were in an outdated and dirty hotel that hadn’t been updated since the 50s. Then when we got to our room it had hardly been cleaned as the sheets looked dirty, with stains on the walls, and mold in the bathroom. The carpet was peeling up, the room was damp, and to top it off when we arrived back to our room after dinner the AC was not working. It’s one thing to book a hotel room that you don’t have and UPGRADE a guest, but do that and downgrade them without adjusting the price is odd. I cant recommend this hotel less considering you aren’t even guaranteed that you’ll be staying there, and the alternative is disgusting.

This is a very modern hotel/hostel that has all the modern expectations such as usb charging points in rooms. The room was clean and tidy and had everything you would require for your stay.

The staff are not particularly attentive. We arrived about 2am due to flight delay and spent over 5 minutes buzzing the door trying to enter the property (I had already contacted them to make sure late night arrival would not be an issue). We only managed to get into the building as thankfully a group were returning after their night out and let us in with their key card. Once at Reception we were checked-in quickly.

Breakfast had a good selection of hot and cold foods. Hot food was just out on the tables on plates rather than on hot plates to keep food warm, however the food always seemed fresh.

Great location for the port. We were only staying one day before travelling onto an island. Therefore it was ideally located as we could just pick up our luggage and cross the road to the port for our ferry. The airport shuttle bus does a drop off at the bus station which is less than a 5 minute walk to the hotel. Again great for heading back to the airport after your trip.

The hotel allowed us to store our luggage after check out however the luggage was just left in the common area up against the wall so not particularly safe storage (not given a tag or anything to identify luggage). There did seem to always be someone on Reception but they had no way of knowing which luggage was yours.

The view from the room was very cool！ The room was clean. I chose to stay because I had to take the ferry when I leave Dubrovnik. The location was very convenient for me cos it was close to both the bus main station and the ferry port. The bus stop of the buses to old town was not far away, either.

The hostel Is a modern hotel labeled as a hostel becase it offers additional features such as kitchen and laundry room. It is conveniently located near the harbor and the bus station. There are many cafes and restaurants in the are facing the sea. The hitel is a 10 minutes bus ride from the touristic old town. Buses run every 5 to 10 min depending on the time of the day. It us the perfect location at a distance from the tourist crowds of old Dubrovnik. It is very clean, it has modern and well equipped rooms, excellent air conditioning. Everything works perfectly. Excellent European style buffet breakfast. Very friendly and helpful staff!!!

A great hostel with comfortable bed and fit out, particularly the bathroom. Only issues that could be improved are safes need to be fixed as currently useless as someone could walk out the door with them and the drain in the shower needs to drain better. Value for money.

Our stay at Hostel Sol could not have been easier. Dora on reception was super friendly and helpful and even helped us get on a Game of thrones tour. The rooms were modern and clean and breakfast was included in our stay which made it feel more like a hotel. Also in a great location, Perfect for a few nights if travelling. Would stay again and would recommend!

I book a sea view room, however for me it was just a normal room. I could see the sea but didn't has view at all.(the window glass was covered by advertisements of the hostel). No need to book a sea view room. Over all,the hostel was close to bus station of Dubrovnik and KONZUM. Friendly staff and very clean. Beyond my expectation for hostel.

Because the owner was closing Hostel Sol (for maintenance I think) the next day, we were given a room instead at Hotel Petka just down the road, which he also owns.
It was clean and comfortable, with a balcony looking out to the waterfront, so we were happy. Just wish they had a kettle in the room for making the odd hot drink.
The buffet breakfast is a decent spread.
The old city is within walking distance, but you could take buses instead.
About 10-15 minutes walk from the bus terminal, the location was convenient for our trip to Mostar and getting back to Zagreb.
