Enjoyed my stay at Hotel Porto Dubrovnik. Breakfast was great. Highly Recommend sporki makaruli for dinner!

Location is great, outside the old town but easily reachable by bus for only 2.50 euro and 10 mins. Bus stop is next to the hotel.

Walking distance to lapad and gruz port.

First impression was poor. We arrived early and asked if we could leave our bags. The chap behind reception pointed to a corner and said 'leave there' without even so much as a hello or looking up from his desk. When I questioned the safety of leaving my suitcase in the public area by the door he simple said 'well that's what we have'. I was very nervous until I returned to collect my luggage.

Room was very spacious and clean. It was overlooking the main road but soundproofing was decent. Shower was blisteringly hot.

Breakfast was very disappointing. No fresh berries and pineapple slices were rock hard. No freshly cooked options (fried eggs but barely warm and rubbery). No omelette or toast.

Location was ideal. Bus stop was practically right outside (just turn right and walk a few paces). If you buy a Dubrovnik pass all bus journeys are free. Take the 1A, 1B, 3 or 6 buses into old town. Drops you outside Pile Gate.
Return using same buses but be aware the roads are one way, so you will need to get off at Gradski Bazen stop, cross the road, turn left down the street to reach the hotel.

Room was very basic. Although a fairly large area, there was nowhere to sit other than one couch and there were no reading lamps in the living area.

The area outside the elevator had roller beds stored there, along with other \"stuff\". The entry to our hallway was propped open with a chair.

The staff was very kind and helpful. The breakfast was good with a large variety of food. Dinner was also good.

Bed was too big for the room, to get to door necessitated squeezing in a few inches between bed and wall which had a low television on the wall so a hazard. Good location for getting to the old town by bus or walk and nice walk to the marina and beyond.

Parking can be arranged but we did not have a car.
Located outside old town of Dubrovnik, about 25 to 30 minutes to walk to old town. There is a bus terminus outside hotel where you can take to old town for Euro 2.50 per person. There is a marina nearby with cafes and restaurants, a supermarket nearby plus a small shopping centre with limited shops that locals use.

Kastel 1700 forms part of the waterfront perimeter of Split's Old Town, which has evolved over many centuries within the envelope of Roman Emperor Diocletian's Palace. It is a small part of an immense historic site. As such, constructing the hotel was strictly controlled and constrained. The advantage is you get to stay not just near an ancient site but actually within it. The disadvantage is that the historic structure inevitable means some compromises. The first is the long, steep stone steps that lead to the entrance. Next, the steps up to your room. And, in the case of our room, a tight fit in the bathroom and an uneven floor, with thoughtful led lighting in the step to help avoid tripping. As long as you are physically able to manage the steps and tight spaces, and realize that this is an historic property and not an obvious location for a modern hotel, Kastel 1700 has a lot to offer. The staff are ever helpful and available, and the location is between the \"Riva\" waterfront and the historic center. Everything is at your doorstep. Also, the owners have gone to great lengths to provide modern conveniences and decorative flourishes to the rooms and common areas. Wherever you look, you see the love and care that has been poured into creating a unique experience for guests. If you are coming by car, the hotel offers private parking outside the Old Town. It is about 800m from the hotel, on a hill, and a difficult walk with luggage. Use public parking to transfer luggage.

Lovely hotel, very modern and convenient to get to the old town or Lapad. If you don’t fancy walking there is a bus very close by. We went on a boat trip to the Eliphiti Islands and the harbour is just 10 minutes walk from the hotel.

Rooms are lovely - the only issue we had is that the pillows are awful (for us) - bed is comfortable but every morning we woke up with neck pain and the hotel didn’t have any firmer pillows.

Smallish modern hotel just by the harbour at Gruz. Superb location for a short bus/taxi ride to the Old City and east, yet a short walk away from the harbour, boat trips and a range of excellent harbour side restaurants and bars. Bus stop just 50 metres to the right of the hotel. Rooms are spacious, modern and very clean. The restaurant is compact, but wonderful well trained staff. Very good customer service and helpful staff throughout the hotel. Breakfast is very good and runs from 7am to 11am and offers cooked food, pastries, fruit, yogurts, juices, etc. taxi service to and from the hotel is also great value at €55 for up to four people. If you want a flexible location covering the regions of Dubrovnik as your base, then this is a first class option for those seeking a very comfortable, well equipped, modern base. There is a supermarket about 20 metres to the left of the hotel too.

Hotel is abt one mile from the Old Town, but it’s an easy walk and uber/bus easy to get. The location is perfect for island ferries since the port is an 10 min walk. We had a large room w/ a decent view . There’s a Tommy supermarket nearby . Overall great stay .

Really nice hotel close to the port in Dubrovnik. We had a delux room which was spacious and had a good sized bathroom, with an excellent shower. There was a mini bar and tea and coffee, but we had to buy our own tea bags and milk as it was not provided. Only 2 sachets of instant coffee was also disappointing.
The breakfast was excellent, plwnty of variety and a good choice on the hot plates. We had dinner on one of the evenings which was also excellent. We didn't have lunch but the menu looked great value.
I was slightly disappointed that the bar didn't appear to be open in the evening, we xame back at 8.30 one night sat down and were ignored by the waitress that was seemingly on duty.
Overall an excellent hotel with easy connections to the Old Town and the port.

A beautiful hotel. Room was very clean and updated. The bus station is right next to the property and once you are on the bus it is only 3 stops to old town. We didn't need to uber once. It is also only a 5-10 minute walk from the ferry station which was nice. Perfect location. Definitely great for a short stay if you are planning to explore most of the day.

We arrived by ferry and we booked this hotel because it was close to the pier which was great. It was right next to the bus stop which was a small fee and short ride to the Pile Gate. Staff and service were great. Only downside was it was a bit remote and with the exception of hotel restaurants lacked dining options.

The hotel is conveniently located on the city bus route. Old town is a short bus ride, less than 10 minutes. Also, near the hotel there are several nice dining options in case you do not want to go far. The hotel is truly boutique, and we got a good upgraded suite with a complimentary Prosecco! The interiors were modern.

The stay was great, location was ideal. Would have given 5 stars however 2 points to mention - no water was provided in the room during the stay, had to purchase a 5.50€ bottle.

Additionally, the receptionist Ivana appeared to be hostile and treated other guests differently. I noticed that other guests were welcomed warmly and with a greater amount of information.

It would be beneficial to have someone at the front desk who treats all people equally as this has left me with a distasteful experience.

Wonderful hotel in Lapad neighborhood

I had a lovely stay during my honeymoon visit to Dubrovnik! Each member of staff was so helpful and really took the time to make sure we had everything we needed during our stay. We even had a bottle of prosecco and chocolates waiting in the room on our first night!

When we arrived at 9:30 am, Ivana was kind enough to get us into a room right away. Venesa was very helpful when I needed to get laundry done. Anna Maria was so nice when we needed to park our one-day rental car and helped us contact the rental company. And the restaurant staff provided excellent service and wonderful food! Housekeeping was great and we enjoyed a fresh room every evening after a long day of sightseeing.

The hotel is near several grocery stores, as well as many bars and restaurants. There’s buses and taxis close by as well. I liked our location in Lapad because we were in a cool neighborhood within a 20-minute walk to the Old Town.

We had a lovely time at this hotel. If I had questions or concerns, I felt sure that the staff cared and genuinely wanted to help. That made the trip special and this is why I’d stay at this hotel again in the future.
