Nice property close enough to town that you can walk or catch a taxi. Very nice room, clean, and with good air conditioning. I recommend this place if you are staying in Dubrovnik!

This is a lovely guest house with four rooms and a warm swimming pool 20 minutes walk from Dubrovnik Old Town and 10 minutes walk from the Port, also easily walkable to Lapad. Rooms and pool were also clean and the aircon works very well. The owners are really nice and friendly.

I spent wonderful time in their house. Room was clean and bed was comfortable to sleep. Shower room is also clean. I didn’t swim in the pool but I wish I could have swam in the pool. All staffs are friendly. I hope I will stay the guest house again.

Bed bugs!!! At first the property seemed like a decent valve. Things wern't the best but check in was easy, host was nice, place was nice for the price BUT then my wife woke up in the morning with many bed bug bites!! We also saw them alive as well as dead bed bugs in the bed! And blood droplets from them. Horrible!!!

In my booking, it said a patio so I was a bit confused when I was directed to a room. It doesn't matter since the room was neat and has a toilet and shower which was what i really needed. The room was just the right size, has a little fridge, a kettle and cups for coffee or tea (not provided). But there are no teaspoon to stir my hot drink and cups are not also collected/washed by the staff. Also, I dont have anywhere to clean it apart from the sink in the toilet. I go out early in the morning and go home late so I dont have anyone to speak to with my concerns nor do they have a contact number to call. I think they live there but I have seen them only once and that was when I checked in. When I checked out (7:30 am) I havent seen anyone as well, so I just left the room open and the keys on the table. I dont know if that was the right thing as they didnt give instructions but that what the other occupant did. Overall and despite that, the stay was lovely. I was comfortable with the room and having the property near a spermarket was really convenient. It was a bit of a walk going to the old town and the main bus station but I enjoyed the view.

We stayed at Guest House Kusalo because we decided to add an extra night to our stay in Dubrovnik and wanted something closer to the bus station than where we were staying on the old town. As we were moving hotels, we arrived quite early and even though they were finishing the cleaning they allowed us to check in early. We were also offered a glass of ice water which was very much appreciated on a hot day. There is no reception which is fine but you just need to let them know what time you are coming in advance. The room itself was ok but there were a few maintenance issues in the bathroom. The bathroom door was broken off it’s hinges and the light didn’t work. As there was no reception we couldn’t tell anyone about these issues and we left early the next morning.

Avoid at all costs!

Horrible, horrible experience. A tiny, small room offered for two people - we had to jump over our suitcases to make it to our beds. The beds were unbelievable, not in a good way. I mean really unbelievable: small, but the real problem was they were made up! No actual proper mattresses - just a collection of pieces of foam on top of each other. They'd move and slide towards the floor after 2 mins of being on them (my friend took photos of the beds, I don't have them unfortunately). I literally woke up with backache every morning I was there. Left the place and booked a last minute Airbnb to spend our last night (unfortunately Hotels refused to cancel our booking, despite being on the phone with them for 90 minutes, explaining the horrific conditions).

Немного смутило, что не могли связаться с хозяйкой. На месте не сразу разобрались, куда идти. Но, однако, потом по стрелочкам все нашли, и там нас ждали. Заселили на час раньше, чем написано, сразу по приезду. Хозяйка и хозяин очень милые люди. Предлагали кофе )). А когда мы попросили оставить багаж чуть дольше, по выезду, сразу сказали, что без проблем.
Нам не повезло с погодой, дожди и пасмурно. А если бы чуть теплее было, то во дворе есть отличный бассейн. )) Все супер!

Lovely, affordable accommodations in Dubrovnik

We had a wonderful stay at Kusalo! Our room was very clean and comfortable, our hosts were very accommodating. The guest house is a short walk to the Old Town, near to restaurants and shops. Free parking. Would definitely recommend staying here!

Great stay. The place is a bit of a walk from old town (25 min or so), but has some cool views along the walk. The room was nice and was clean. The lady who runs the place was very friendly. She offered coffee in the morning, gave us a small bit of breakfast (might not happen in busier seasons?), let us stay late on our checkout day, and even brought us a traditional Croatian fish plate for free. Offered an airport shuttle that is cheaper than taxis, even though we took the bus out. Would stay here again.

I did not realize when I booked this property that my room would be in the owner's living quarters. For me this is undesirable. The guest house is reasonably priced and walking distance from the old city. My experience was ok overall, but I would not stay here again if I return to Dubrovnik.

value for money

dubrovnik is a rather toruist city, everything is expensive
kusalo is value for money
the location is not ok, easily accessible with bus
but the nearest restaurant closed on Sundays, so make sure you dine before you back

the host doesn't speak good english, so they can't really recommend something to me
but I can still feel their warm service

my room is full of insects, like moth, spider, mosquito, not their fault, cause ther are hills nearby
they also have the insecticide, I don't really like to use it

to wrap it up, it's very valuable of money in such a tourist city

Vi følte på ingen måde gæstfrihed og de var ikke serviceminded. Vi manglede toilet papir men ville først komme med noget dagen efter. Så havde de taget billeder af nogle hvide håndklæder - som så var vores egne fordi de var beskidte. Vi havde selv medbragt dem til eget brug på stranden - og de havde taget billederne af dem fordi de var beskidte. Vi modtog med billederne på håndklæderne nogle meget grimme beskeder på Watch app. Aircondition virkede ikke den sidste nat. Der var ingen der kom og bød os velkommen, har aldrig været et sted hvor jeg følte mig så uvelkommen og hvor der blev taget billeder af mine ting.
Beliggenheden var fantastik og dejligt med pool i den varme. Men rent og pænt både inde og udenfor var der ikke.

Fik ingen besked om hvordan man skulle tjekke ind. Guest house minder mere om et hostel. Beskidt, meget lille badeværelse, dårlig madras. Værelset var dog stille og havde en ok beliggenhed

Studio avec toilettes ouvertes sur la cuisine

En arrivant à l'adresse indiquée à l'heure prévue, personne n'était là pour nous remettre les clés. Nous avons dû demander de l'aide au service clients, qui nous a donné les coordonnées pour contacter directement l'établissement. Malgré notre appel téléphonique et nos appels en direct, nous n'avons pas eu de réponse. Finalement après 30 minutes d'attente, quelqu'un est sorti et nous a remis les clés. Le studio dans lequel nous étions était petit mais assez confortable. Un problème majeur cependant, le fait que la porte de la salle de bain/toilettes ne se ferme pas ce qui fait qu'il n'y a absolument pas d'intimité possible. Un bémol aussi concernant la propreté (du frigo et de la salle de bain) ainsi que d'un manque de papier toilettes (les dernières feuilles d'un rouleau pour un séjour de 4 jours). Enfin, nous avions espoir que la piscine soit utilisable au mois de mai mais ce n'était pas le cas. Nous avons essayé de joindre l'établissement plusieurs fois durant notre séjour pour que les difficultés rencontrées puissent être résolues. En vain. C'est vraiment dommage car l'établissement est bien situé pour visiter la ville de Dubrovnik et ses alentours. Le logement mais surtout le service, pourraient être largement améliorés pour un séjour de meilleur qualité.

Ok place to stay and very affordable. It was a bit hard to know who works in there and how to get checked in and get the room and keys etc. Room was OK as I was not expecting any luxury. It was quiet and I slept well and felt safe to stay. Location is a short bus trip (or a long walk) away from the old town and tourist spots. There are stores near the apartment. Overall a budget friendly option to stay and really nothing to complain about.

Bathroom and floor was a bit dirty but they allowed us in 2 hours earlier then check-in time so I didn't really bother it.

Très bon rapport qualité prix pour dubrovnik
Assez bien situé, à 20 min à pied de la porte pile et 10 min du port moderne pour les ferry.
En point négatif, la maison est assez vétuste, nous étions dans une chambre. Et la propreté moyenne surtout dans la salle de bain qui était partagée.
Pas évident ce garer gratuitement. Nois avons dû payer environ 10kn de l'heure dans un parking proche.
Le sejour est très positif.

Fué una bonita exoeriencia, el lugar esta bastante bonito, cuebta con picina, la habitacion cuenta con Cocineta por lo que puedes llevar y cocinar en el lugar, nos atendieron super bien, esta cerca de comercios y hay transporte publico cerca, pues si esta un poco lejos de la ciudad amurallada, pero hay una playa preciosa muy cerca.

La propriétaire de ce guest house est très gentille , les lieux sont un peu vieillissants, mais la piscine et terrasse très sympa. Par contre je n'apprecie pas d'avoir payé la location d'une chambre avec patio, alors qu'il n'y avait pas de patio.La chambre de 15M2( la SDB avec une douche, les toilettes et un lave-mains)donnait sur une entrée qui donnait sur 3 chambres.quand j'ai appelé l'agence qui gère ce guest house, ils m'ont précisé que ce n'était pas noté patio privé!!! donc pas de patio; pourquoi en parlent ils? il n'y en a pas! cela ne valait pas ce prix.

Gömd pärla.

Fantastisk liten undangömd pärla. Servicen kunde inte vara bättre.Ägarfamiljen var mycket tjänstvilliga och tillmötesgående i allt.

Ett Guest House i ordets rätta bemärkelse. Massor av mycket positiva,glada och intressanta människor från jordens alla hörn som kom och reste vidare, under den vecka vi var där. Ett suveränt ställe att stifta nya bekantskaper och kanske vänner för livet.

Några minus - Parkeringskrångel till viss del samt att det var aningen svårfunnet.

Great place to stay for a budget holiday in Dubrovnik! Also very good service that the owner stayed up to wait for me since I had a really late check in (01.30 in the night). The place feels very safe, and quiet, even if it is in the center of the city. Plus points for pool and outdoor facilities!

Sympathetic, affordable and good location

Walking distance to the old Town, if you don’t mind walking two kilometers, also buses and staff can drive you for a small fee. Family staff who were very helpful and friendly. Small swimming pool but clean and can be used. Equipments very old, including all the electricity devices and cleaning dot so professional. More like family housing but if you are not too demanding, very nice stay. We had a fridge and had our own breakfast at the shared terrace. Walls are thin so earplugs are needed if the other guests are speaking loudly and late, like in our case did, other wise no bars near or traffic noise or anything like that.

Hotellille sisäänkirjautuminen oli vähän hämärää, ketään ei näkynyt paikalla eikä puhelimeen vastattu. Kielitaitoa omistajilla ei juurikaan ollut mutta ystävällistä palvelua kylläkin! Samaan aikaan hotellissa meidän lisäksi oli sattumalta kolme muutakin suomalaista seuruetta. Aamulla iso käärme yllätti uima-altaalla! Säikähdyksellä selvittiin.

The family was very friendly and helpful. Location is great, about 15/20mn from old town or there is a bus (2 stops, 15kunas). Supermarket and bakery around the corner.

I had a room upstairs sharing the bathroom with the family. I have not seen other rooms but mine was kind of run down. Water temperature lock in the shower was broken, so max temp was 38° which is cold for showering. I ended up going at another friend's guesthouse to shower.

部屋よりも何よりも、女性オーナーさんのやさしさに惹かれました。チェックインの仕方もよくわからず困惑していましたが優しく対応してくださいました。部屋もベッドが大きく、申し分ありません。ドライヤーの接触がちょっと悪いです。口コミにあったシャワーの弱さは気になりませんでした。旧市街からは歩いて30分ほどで少し離れていますが、近くにスーパーやドラッグストアがあり便利でした。あのオーナーさんにまた会うためにも、また泊まりたいです。

Cheap room. Good access to local buses.

The guest house was good considering the price we paid. Room was tidy even though it was a little stuffy. But that was probably due to the weather.
Check in was not such a smooth process. I called in advance and said I'd be arriving at 4. When we arrived noone was there. We rang the bell multiple times and tried calling but no answer. After about an hour Expedia somehow managed to contact the owner. We were given a key and that was the last contact we had for the next 5 days we stayed there.

Proche de plusieurs plages, port principal

Proche du old city et d'une des plus belles plages (st Jacob), bien desservie en transports et très proche du main port de Dubrovnik.
La piscine est vraiment le petit plus qui fais plaisir.

Abbiamo trovato l'appartamento sporco, moscerini ecc schiacciati ovunque, polvere, peli in bagno e biancheria non proprio pulitissima. Difficile da trovare l'alloggio all'interno di una palazzina un po' nascosta e difficilissimo rintracciare il proprietario per capire dove fosse l'alloggio. La piscina foooorse ci sarà, non l'abbiamo vista ma non abbiamo neppure chiesto. Dista 25 min a piedi per raggiungere il centro storico di Dubrovnik
