Had a lovely stay at the Jele Rooms while we were in Dubrovnik for 5 days. The property was clean, with good facilities. Had a lovely balcony with a nice view where we enjoyed our breakfasts.

Jele Rooms had a great location with 2 supermarkets, a bakery (smelt amazing & great tasting fresh bakery items), pizza restaurant (delicious thin & crispy pizza & friendly staff) & bus stop all within a couple minutes walk away. We also walked to the old town most days which was an easy route & only took about 30 mins.

Staff of Jele Rooms were very helpful & we received great communication for check in details, recommendations etc

Check-in was very convenient as they send you instructions ahead of your arrival. Property was about a 30 minute bus ride from the Old Town and was in a quiet location with a bakery and bus stop nearby. Many restaurants within walking distance. Rooms were clean and quiet with air conditioning. I would stay here again. I wish they had some amenities like bath soap.

1. Reception were responsive and clear via email with self check-in instructions, as we had a night arrival time on day 1
2. Jele Rooms is less than 5 minutes walk to/from the bus stop which services Dubrovnik Old Town in one direction, and the main bus station (we caught the bus to Dubrovnik Airport from here) and one of the ferry ports in the other
3. The room space and bathroom were generous and was sufficient for 2 guests each travelling with a medium-sized suitcase
4. Common kitchen area allowed us to shop at the local supermarket, and cook meals - there is a stove, oven and fridge
5. There is an outdoor balcony with seating for 2 and a small hanger for drying clothes

Nice apartment with handy bus links

Great little complex of rooms, near the ferry port so it felt more like a local area than too touristy. Nice bakery 2-3 minutes away, and plenty of supermarkets in the area.

The bus stop is very close, although you could also walk down to the old town in 30 minutes. The number 8 bus goes in a circle, and you can get it from the ferry port as well as the old town so I used that most days (bought tickets from a Tisak or included in a Dubrovnik pass, as well as pay cash to the driver). Stops at all the key places.

Room and bathroom were good, plenty of space, and I had a cute balcony. The shared kitchen was useful although I just used the fridge in the end and met some of the other guests.

Valerija was very quick to answer any questions I had and gave helpful instructions and advice. Thank you!

We were welcomed by the host who also suggested a wonderful restaurant for dinner. The room was very clean and had everything to make us comfortable. Our room was secluded and had a private patio where we could sit and enjoy the lovely garden full of flowers, vegetables, and pomegranate and lime trees. We came to relax and did!

The air-conditioner and hot water for shower all are very good. Walk to old town around 30 min, 200 step down the mountain, there are several delicious restaurants

Loved our experience at Jele Rooms!
The room was so clean! It was small, but expected as it’s what I booked on Expedia. All of the space was maximized in the room. Bathroom was renovated and clean! A kettle is provided with mugs, glasses, cutlery and plates. We bought instant coffee at the convenience store 2 steps beside the apartment building, and used the kettle for our morning coffee.
The host was communicative and friendly!
The instructions for check in were so clear!
I recommend this apartment for a smooth and comfortable stay in Dubrovnik!
Be aware that it’s 30 min walk from old town and the streets are hilly and there are lots of stairs! Great for sneaking in exercise after all that gelato LOL.
I recommend the restaurant La Luna and the bakery Rusica down the street (literally 1-2 min).

Jele room gave us everything we needed. The property was very clean and ideally situated. Valerjia was exceptional as a host and looked after us very well indeed. She arranged transfer for us on arrival to Dubrovnik airport and even took us back at the end of our stay.
We love walking and Dubrovnik did not disappoint! The old town is magical and within walking distance (30 min walk). Lots of lovely sights and above all, very safe. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay from start to finish. We would definitely recommend Jele rooms and Valerija was a delight! Super communication throughout. You will not be disappointed if you book there. Thank you Valerjia!

It was super clean, had air-con, cute little kitchen with basic equipment and a fridge, comfortable bed.
There is a small supermarket next door and is a 15 min walk to bas station, 30 mins walk to old town.
I didn't meet the owner but communication and the checking in/out process was fantasic!

Very nice property in Gruz on the hill overlooking the Dubrovnik marina. The room we had was number 11 on the top floor. There were three separate bedrooms on that floor with a shared common kitchen and sitting area. WiFi was good and there are convenience stores, grocery stores and a restaurant (Caffé La Luna) nearby. Caffé La Luna was excellent and very reasonably priced.

We utilized the Dubrovnik Pass which provides access to the Old City Walls, several museums and a three day bus pass. Note: Prices vary online and we got the best price by going to the Tourist Office near the Pile Gate at Old Town Dubrovnik. We utilized the bus system and they were very good – Number 1 runs from Pile Gate (entrance to the Old Town) to the marina area and Number 8 runs from Pile Gate to the Gruz neighborhood where Jele Rooms is located. Highly Recommended!

Walking from Jele Rooms to Pile Gate is ~2 Km and takes about 30 minutes. Terrain is hilly and may be a challenge for some. Weather in June was 30C – 35C, if you plan to walk the Old Town wall, go early! It opens at 9AM.

We had a great stay in the Jele rooms. We met both people staying in the rooms next to us and they were also lovely. It was a bit of a walk to the old town but was easy to get Ubers. The property was clean, comfortable and had all the necessary amenities. Check in and check out was easy and the view from our balcony was incredible. I highly recommend!

Excellent stay. Valerija is a very pleasant, helpful and efficient person. She was a just a call away and was always ready to help.

She picked us up from the airport, accommodated us in a comfortable apartment, helped us with directions, printed our documents and allowed us to use our room long after check out time.

The hotel is easy to get to and tours leave from a few steps away.

Stayed April 24 in room 7. Good location in a quieter area. Lovely views from the balcony - perfect for sitting out with a bottle of wine. Walkable into the old town or bus is just a few minutes walk away (recommend the Dubrovnik card which give you free buss access for the duration the walls/museums) little shop is almost next door for basic provisions and the shared kitchen is ideal. Communication with the host was excellent. Would definitely recommend this as great value for money. 10/10 from us!

Nice homely rooms, walkable to everything in Dubrovnik (if you don't mind steps and a lot of sweat).
I booked a studio but got given the twin with balcony which I loved. Kitchen spacious and well equipped. Good sized balcony for sitting or sunbathing
The host was lovely, very helpful and very quick to respond to calls/messages. Check in was super too (as soon as I arrived at 1pm ish). Check out was also good, and bags were safely left all day before exit.

Valerija the hostess was friendly and met me on arrival, she gave me detailed information about where I was staying and also suggested things I could do. She even made sure there was a bottle of water for me in the Fridge.Parking was available but it would be advisable to request prior to your booking. I stayed 5 night, the rooms are about 30mins walk to old city. My first three days was great as I was alone in the flat with the other rooms empty. I was able to cook and make my own food. There are shops and bakery within walking distance of the rooms Note:At the time of my stay there was no microwave available at this property.The last two nights was not so great due to some other tourists who arrived and left the kitchen in an unhygienic with human hair on the kitchen floor and also within the corridor. Also the room 10 appears to be close to the bathroom in Room 9 and you can hear every time the tap or shower is being used in the other room. Overal, my stay was positive and hope to visit again

Much more modern apartment than some of the photographs I saw - I was really pleased. The outdoor little garden outside of the apartment was also really nice to sit in too. Didn't meet the owner (as I arrived earlier than I said I was going to) but everything about check-in/check-out was really clear and had no problems whatsoever.

Also the area was so lovely- away from the crowding of the city centre but still only a half an hour walk in. Area also felt safe (being young and travelling by myself). It was really close (5 mins walk) to the harbour and close to this route called the Setnica walking trail which was beautiful to explore.

Thank you for a lovely stay, would definitely stay again if in the area.

Good clean accommodation. If all you are after is a bed for the night and bathroom this place fits the bill. Beds are comfortable, pillows are brilliant (and I’m very fussy about my pillows) bathroom small but has what you need eg toilet, hand basin and functional shower. Shared fridge, outside your room, shared kitchen but it’s basic eg cups, plates another fridge and two ring burner. About 30 mins walk into town or number 8 bus passes the bottom of the road. The property is up a very steep hill which is a killer at the end of a long day exploring. The lady who owns the property is delightful and always there is help you.

This was a perfect place for us, especially given our budget and the fact that we had a car we needed parking for. Parking in Dubrovnik is expensive so this was a HUGE bonus! It is a bit of a walk to the old city but is very doable and it’s close to the marina and a few other fun spots. We got a double room with a balcony and the view was great - and the room very clean. Would definitely recommend!

The staff and owner are very friendly and helpful. The property is a short walk to a bus stop which can get you into town in approx 10/15 mins depending on traffic. They run every 30 mins. A Uber taxi is a few £s to the bus station. You can walk to the marina (downhill) in 10/15 mins. There are supermarkets / bakeries very close by and an excellent restaurant La Luna. The rooms are small but clean and there is outside seating by your room. There is a very useful kitchenette area for your use, however, this could be cleaner. A good stay away from the city centre.

Jele rooms was half and hour walk from the Old Town, Pile Gate, it was very clean with a good kitchen for self-catering. The shower was excellent, large, easy to use, very hot water and powerful. Clean towels, bedding and an extra blanket if needed. Valerija greeted my upon arrival and was very lovely and helpful. Close by were local supermarkets and bakeries which were cheap.

The apartment was very new and modern. It was about 25 minutes walk to old town but the bus is just down the block. I walked everywhere easily but if you don’t want to walk, the old town, port and bus station are all a cheap, short Uber or bus station walk away. Also if you do a tour, they will pick you up st the bus station a block away so no need to schlep to old town.

The room was very clean and comfortable and there was a well equipped kitchenette for guests. There is a wonderful garden and veranda from where guests can sit and enjoy. Our room was clean and tidy and the shared kitchen was a bonus. It's around 30 minute walk to the old town but we enjoyed doing this walk, there's also a very easy to follow bus route available. The free parking was a bonus!

We were very happy during our stay here! The owner and staff were lovely and enjoyed talking to us, despite limited English from some. Room was really clean, we had access to a small kitchen which was really useful to save money, air-conditioning, and a beautiful view of their vegetable garden. We also were really close to two nearby market shops which was extremely useful. The staff were really helpful with us and gave us recommendations about where to go, and even let us hang our clothes out on the washing line to dry after we got caught in a storm and everything got soaked!

Some of the drawbacks were the location, was a bit too far from Dubrovnik to walk and uphill, which was too difficult to walk in the heat of summer so we had to use buses. The room was advertised as a double bedroom, but was two single beds pushed together which wasn't ideal. And the room and bathroom were quite small, felt cramped at times.

Overall though, we really enjoyed our stay here and were sad to leave. We would recommend it to anybody! Thank you Jele Rooms :D

Very nice, especially with a balcony room facing the garden and harbor. Be aware that Jele Rooms is a very steep walk up from the harbor level. Take the #8 circular bus if you don’t want to schlep bags up the steep hill, and get off at the second stop past the bus station. The bus is 15 kuna and you pay the driver in cash (or 12 kuna at kiosk).

Good all around at great price

I'll start with two potential negatives, parking seemed limited (no matter to me as I didn't drive) and u have to walk about 20 minutes to Old Town (uber ride is about $4, there's also bus city bus service).

The positives about living a bit out of the main area was that markets and restaurants are much cheaper, and you get a better sense of local culture.

Got picked up from airport (extra charge of course), got a good basic overview of city, food, language and stuff on ride over. Host is super easy to talk to. They offer laundry and fold service (again extra charge but made it super convienent). Good communication. Will def stay here if/when I return to Dubrovnik.

Great place to stay

Valerija was absolutely great to deal with and the room was impecable and really clean. It is a good 20min walk to the old town which is really convenient if one doesn't want to pay a fortune to leave the car in the public parking. The room we stayed at (no 9) has a lovely balcony looking towards the harbour and it is rather nice to enjoy the sunset after a day exploring dubrovnik and surrounding area. The room itself was rather spacious and the shower room enough for the needs. Water pressure was superb.

The only thing we had to make a remark on is the car parking and the logistics it implies if more than 2cars are parked. Guests should inform Valerija they are bringing a car so other guests do not get their cars blocked by parking behind the other cars. We had informed we were bringing a car but some other guests didn't do so and, one day when we arrived, we had no other option but parking the car behind some other. Fortunately it was a rather small car, but a bigger one and we wouldn't have managed to leave in the private garage.

We would be staying here again next time we visit dubrovnik!!!! Valerija is super!!! Thanks so much!!!

Nice, clean Apt near Old town

Nice, clean and only a 20 min walk to old town. The room is spacious and very clean, a safe is available in the room. It is located in a neighborhood so there is not much \"life\" or places around, so you have to go to old town. However, there is a grocery store near by and a bakery. The bus stop is close, but it takes a very long time, it is easier to just walk down to old town.
The only thing that I wish was better, is having better ways to reach the landlord to know how to return keys. Other than that I really enjoyed my experience and would recommend to others.

집을 지키고 계신 할머니는 정말 영어 하나도 못하시고, 20분 후에 돌아온다는 딸은, 물어볼때마다 20분 남았다 합니다. 초심을 잃었는지, 다른 리뷰에 읽었던 것처럼 친절하거나 하진 않아요.

부두에 있는 버스 터미널에선 여기로 가는 버스 많아요. (짐들고 걸어 올라가지 마시고,이메일로 미리 물어보세요.) 장점이 별로 없는 호텔이지만, 가격 생각하면 불만족 스러운 것도 별로 없네요.

단, 제 방이 계단 바로 옆이라, 방에 있으면 처음 온 게스트 들이 수도 없이 제 방을 두드리더라구요. 주인 어디 있냐구(아, 그 분들은 왜 항상 집에 없는 걸까요)... 너무 여러번 그러니까 좀 짜증 났어요.

맨 윗층 방은 같은 가격에 훨씬 넓은 데, 찻길에 바짝 붙어있더라구요.

Great apartment, good location!

Good sized room, beds, bathroom and balcony. Very clean, kitchen is spacious. Staff were knowledgeable about the area and happy to answer our questions and make suggestions about great local places to explore. The shared kitchen gives you the option to meet other travelers if you wish, however there is no noise coming from any of the other rooms so you can stay there in privacy too if this is your wish.

Lovely place to stay in Dubrovnik. Supermarket and bakery 2 minutes walk, bus stop at end of road and an easy 25 min walk to the old town. Valerija is lovely and the rooms are immaculate, newly furnished and decorated and great care has been taken to make them homely.

Valerija recieved and dropped us back at the bus station. She was great host and provided us very valuable tips about the city which was very helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. Kitchen was well equipped. It was a pleasant stay, thanks again.

High Five for Jele Rooms!

I spent a week at Jele Rooms. It's a family-run hotel, self-catering but with full kitchen amenities, close to supermarkets, a 20 minute walk from the Old City, on a bus route, located in a quiet neighbourhood with bakeries and restaurants all close by and with a fantastic flower garden view from the rooms' terrace. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. It was a pleasure for me to meet and speak with many of them. My room was well fitted with a new and comfortable bed and fresh linens. The kitchen had everything I needed for self-service. There was air conditioning and free wifi. It made my first visit to Dubrovnik even more pleasurable. Don't miss out on this fantastic place to stay!

Does what it says on the tin

Room was as I expected in relation to the cost, was clean and tidy. However, was a bit out of the way of the old town and anywhere of interest. Bus services were available at every 45 minutes if I recall, but the 45 minutes rota changed from day to day so not ideal.
The hotel states that all rooms have a balcony, not sure if the owners own the whole building but the downstairs rooms DID NOT have a balcony, and in fact the external area was a thoroughfare for all other guests and staff.
Rated the staff at 2 only due to the fact it was difficult to communicate with the resident owner (mother), who was in fact rude on occasion, even refusing me the use of an iron! The daughter was available sometimes and was very helpful however.

Between bus station and old town

Check in was efficiently dealt with considering 3 bookings arrived at once. Unfortunately the fact I had one booking prepaid and one booking to pay for caused confusion resulting in my sister being pressured for payment late in the evening. The WiFi was too weak to support my email on the second evening. Other aspects were fine, but these two problems diluted the enjoyment of the stay.

Hmm. You'll love it or hate it

I've stayed in a lot of apartments in Croatia and elsewhere and this is the one where you must integrate closely with the family. It's a lot like staying with your loveable but slightly kooky relatives. Good and bad. Jele is the ever present matriarch of the family. They will kill you with kindness but this may be too much. Loud conversations by Jele just outside your door etc. the shared kitchen is a laundry (pay to use the washing machine) with a gas cooktop, shared bar fridge, sink and very basic kitchenware. Our room and bathroom were rather small and had some maintenance issues. Wifi struggled to make it to the room and dropped out frequently.
Location is great. Short (uphill) walk from the ferry and bus terminals. Don't follow google maps - it will send you up stairs. 20 min walk to the old centre. Very close to supermarkets, a decent pizzeria, and a convenience store right next door. There are great beaches within walking distance. The price is good for Dubrovnik.

Nice room, close to ferry port

Excellent stay at Jele Rooms. The mother that lives there struggled with English but made every effort to ensure we were comfortable and looked after during our 2 night stay. The property was a bit tricky to find, but it's location is right by the ferry port making it an ideal base for a day trip to Lopud. There are restaurants and cafes 10 mins away from the property and a market almost next door. The room was well decorated, the bed was comfy and shower powerful. Would highly recommend.

Good for 1 night. I called for pick up from port which was nice and what they post as a service for staying with them. However, next morning no one around to give keys to and didn't hear back about ride back to port/ bus station.

Very clean but very basic.

As somewhere to sleep this was fine, the beds weren't overly comfortable but they did the job, it was sold as a double but actually it's just 2 singles pushed together - still made-up as singles. Nice enough location walkable into old town if you enjoy a walk, but we had no view and this is not set up for comfort so a day of lounging around is not an option (not that it was a priority but one day of relaxing would have been nice). Owner seemed friendly but as we didn't feel comfortable hanging around the room we didn't really see her. We had this room just as the season was gearing up, all seemed newly done up hope they manage to maintain things as cleanliness is definitely the selling point! One concern i would have if booking mid season would be noise, I don't know how busy it gets but you do hear absolutely everything going past, the walls are very thin. On the other hand if it rains you will need a pack of cards as the TV doesn't work when the weathers bad! The pizzeria at the end of the road is lovely and also cheap which is a lifesaver when it's too wet to get anywhere further.

Great quality and value

The apartment was small but a good size and the bedroom and bathroom were done to a very high quality. They were very welcoming and helpful (also gave us a map!) supplying convenient travel information for travelling into the old town, and where to go regarding beaches and food. It was a wonderful place to stay if you are there 1-4 nights!

The owner of Jele Rooms is incredibly welcoming and friendly and though basic, the accommodation was perfect for me as a solo trip on a bit of a budget. A bit of a walk from the Old Town, but the bus runs not far away and it is handily located for the main bus station.

The room was in great condition and we had a comfortable stay. Our host was very friendly and helpful. If you do decide to stay here and you get the airport bus, get off at the old town and take the number 8 and let it turn around at the bus station and get off at the third stop up the hill outside the pizza joint. We didn't do that and had to lug suitcases up 200-odd steps. Not fun. But after that we really enjoyed our time there.
