The entire experience was lovely- including comfortable beds and clean rooms; excellent breakfast (exceptionally fresh food) and surprisingly relaxing music in the lobby. The staff was consistently friendly, responsive, professional and helpful. In particular, Ivanka, Rafella, Zdanka, and Ivica were welcoming. I would highly recommend IVKA.

Staff were brilliant and friendly. The place as a whole was very clean and tidy. The room cleaning staff were highly efficient having cleaned our room every day in the time it took my wife and I to pop down for breakfast and back. The free underground parking was a great bonus with a space always being available. Convenience stores were within a short 5-10 min walk away. Harbour 15-20 min depending on which side you're aiming for. Bus stop 5 min away. We were very happy with the place.

We had a smooth stay at Hotel Ivka. The staff was kind and answered all questions we had. The breakfast was great! Our room was clean but a bit outdated, especially compared to the more obviously renovated side. The WiFi at the hotel is awful, you’re better off just using your regular cell service if possible. The TV volume is capped very low. I understand this is for other guests, but with the AC and the bathroom fan, you pretty much can’t hear anything at all.

Everything I needed for a 3 day solo trip to Dubrovnik. As a keen walker, everything is accessible from here. Staff were friendly and helpful - showed me where everything was on a tourist map leaflet on check in. Breakfast and dinner buffets are convenient if you need it. Room was very clean too.

The hotel was conveniently located close to the bus stop. Very clean and tidy.

Stayed at Hotel Ivka for a week with my partner. It was a lovely stay, the staff were helpful and efficient. The hotel is really well maintained and spotless clean which was great to see.
Breakfast had a great selection and i looked forward to it each day.
The only thing missing to make it all perfect was that unfortunately there is no fridge in the rooms.
The stay exceeded our expectations and i would definitely stay again.

Ivka was more like a hostel type hotel than hotel. The furniture was old and cheap and the toilet and genarl bathroom items were cheap and uncomfortable. Although the space was big in room and bathroom, it made us feel we had a private hostel room. Not at all what I expected.

There are a lot of five star hotels in Dubrovnik and they are quite pricey. If that isn't your thing, or, more likely, if you are on a budget, then I would recommend Hotel Ivka. It is a solid choice: clean, if somewhat basic rooms, comfortable beds, a bright and pleasant ambiance, and a decent, good value breakfast built into the (affordable) price. Some rooms have beautiful views (ask for that). Location is not bad: a 10-15 minute walk into the main pedestrian street in Lapad and a 15-20 minute walk to Sunset Beach. City walls easily accessible by #6 bus or else a taxi ride (hotel can call a cab or you can Uber).

No problem with parking; front desk not too friendly but informative enough how to get to the Old City of Grad; staff during breakfast were friendly and helpful; the food was great. The room was clean. It was false advertising on the website on Expedia, checkout time was 12noon but front desk called at 11:20am, making sure we are not staying another night & insisted the checkout time was 11am that was frustrating for us when we were relaxing after breakfast, now was being hurried up for the checkout.

We enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Ivka in Dubrovnik. Check in was simple, and as we were a little early, he checked, and allowed us to gain access to the room since it was ready.

Our room was extremely spacious, and very comfortable. Everything worked that needed to work, and we were very happy with the room, though it was a bit dated.

One note: Be sure to take your own shampoo and conditioner. There is a soap dispenser at the sink and another in the shower, but the shower one is gel not shampoo. #hadfuzzyhair

We ate at the dinner buffet and were extremely pleased with the quality and variety of the food, as well as the service of the waiters. The breakfast buffet was amazing for its variety and quantity. I can’t imagine there was much missing; soy milk was offered as an alternative to cow’s milk.

We chose to walk to Old Town Dubrovnik, which is 3km each way. The stroll was pleasant. A taxi would be an option though it looks as though the bus system is well organized.

Overall: splendid! We would stay here again. Thank you for your hospitality!

Hotel location is great for both walking (27 mins) and taking bus #6 (10 mins on the bus) to old town. The bus station is only 3 mins walk from the hotel. There are several good restaurants within 5 mins walking from hotel. Hotel breakfast is tasty and offers a large variety of selections. We definitely will stay here again.

1. Toilet area in bathroom smelled like urine. Contacted staff and they agreed with odor and only sprayed an air freshener around area.
2. Air conditioner cooled room very poorly and staff said unit was working properly and left situation at that.

Stayed here 2 nights. We felt hotel reception staff was not that friendly. We did not get maid service because no one told us if you leave the key card in the room slot ( we had 2 key cards) a light will indicate you're in the room and the maid will not come in. After we complained about the room not getting maid service hotel reception person said it would get taken care of when we're out that evening. When we got back the room had not been properly serviced ( bed not made, bathroom still not cleaned). We complained again and they did give us a discount on the room rate which was nice (expensive room). I think one could probably find another hotel around same price or little more and be much more satisfied. Just sayin

Enough to sleep for a Dubrovnik visit

Room was spacious. Rates competitive and reception personel ok. The dining room team was always in a hurry to remove the buffet 20 mins before the hour instead of serving the customers. I requested laundry service and it was denied since \"we do it in another hotel\" and I was sent to a dry-cleaning place 100m from the Hotel. They could have done it!! The matresses were very uncomfortable. My wife had a coffee in the terrace the first day and spilled some on the floor. It was not cleaned during my stay.

There was a mix up with my booking but Expedia customer service were very diligent in sorting it out and advised me in writing accordingly. On arrival I was told my husband and I would have to be in separate rooms since the booking made was a single one only. I tried to explain this had all been sorted out but at that point the young man on reception was tellling me about costs and inferring what I said was ridiculous. At that stage I said I would call Expedia and he immediately told us the number of our room which was a twin bed saying his sales department would have to deal with it. Because of this encounter and feeling very uncomfortable I accepted the room for the entire stay but it was noisy from traffic which seemed to run most hours of the day. I didn't feel rested. If I booked again I would ask for a quiet room. We heard no more about a wrong booking.
Other than our initial contact the staff were most helpful and friendly. The beds were comfortable, the air conditioner in our room was efficient but pretty noisy to leave on during the night.
The breakfast and dinner were good.

Nothing to shout about but comfortable and a convenient base for visiting the Old Town and the Lapad Peninsula. Breakfast buffets were rather bland but there was plenty there to keep you going through the day! As the outside temperatures were over 30 deg C during our stay (with little respite at night) then we left the air conditioning on full blast throughout the nights but this was a little noisy. Staff were very polite and helpful. Booking transfers to/from the airport was easy.

the hotel was in quite a good position,bus stops close and 10 mins to old town and walking distance to the yacht club and harbour and also to a really lovely area of restaurants and bay with swimming rock pools/areas, situated infront of a variety of lovely hotels.This area had great atmosphere during the day and in the evening. Our room didn't have a view and on the small size.Pleasant foyer and sitting area out the front.No toaster/ toast at breakfast.Staff pleasant.

Easy to get to Old Town, about 10 minutes on the bus. Hotel was clean, room was big, also a big balcony with the room. Wifi connection in the room was sporadic. Breakfast was not very good, most of the hot food was gone when we arrived about an hour before it was due to end.

Not bad, definitely not great!

Spacious room and bathroom with large balcony with a beautiful view, particularly at night time. Very basic but you get what you pay for. The major downside is that the bathroom had a strong stench or urine. We did complain, however the problem wasn't fixed (leaky pipe). This made the stay uncomfortable as we dreaded going for a shower or using the toilet as the smell was unbearable especially during the day when it was hot. Location was pleasant, away from the hustle and bustle but not too far from the old town. There was regular bus access (6min walk to bus stop) to Pile Sq about 30kuna return and 10-12min. The return bus drops you at a different location due to the one way system (we got a bit lost the first time) but the locals were friendly and helped direct us to the hotel. Taxi from Pile Sq to hotel cost 88-90kuna (£10ish) and took about 7min. The hotel is very close to the port (under 5min in a taxi and 15-20min walk) so handy for island hopping. Hotel staff were helpful and let us leave our luggage after check out until the evening.

The breakfast was very basic but acceptable if you don't have an appetite in the morning and just want a quick bite before heading out.

I would still recommend this hotel, as despite the bathroom problem the pros outweigh the cons!

This hotel is only a few minutes walk to the harbour and the number 6 bus to the Old Town bus passes the door. It has free underground parking. The staff are excellent. Always smiling and helpful!! The food in the restaurant is very good. We stayed here for 6 nights and I have not a single criticism to make. It is a perfect hotel for a visit to Dubrovnik.

Situated in a massive complex this hotel was not quick to find. The room was ok but nothing special. Needs to provide WIFI in rooms as the reception area is the only access point which was crowded. Food was plentiful and restaurant was nicely decorated. No food was available when we arrived late and so we were directed to the only pizza place in the complex just a couple of minutes walk. The staff of the pizza place were helpful and friendly. The staff in the reception looked over worked as so many people needed booking in and out and they were limited to 1 computer working at a time. Probably because they are WIFI limited. A lot of potential being wasted. Good views of the coast.

You get what you expect with this hotel. It's a solid 3 star, but nothing fancy. The rooms are large and clean and it is inexpensive relative to closer to Old Town. The breakfast was a typical European buffet - which means way better than a typical 3 star American buffet. You can take a 10 minute bus to Old Town that ran fairly regularly. The staff was fine for us, but we didn't really need anything special. If you have a lot of money, stay in Old Town. If you want a good value, stay here.

Hotel is modern in style; clean and comfortable , with balconies in most rooms- some with sea views. Staff is friendly and helpful with questions- and front desk staff all spoke English. Included Breakfast is copious and well prepared. Access to Old Town Dubrovnik is easy and quick via #6 bus. ( it takes about 10 minutes door to door) The neighborhood, Lapad, has a small commercial strip and a small boat harbor . Though we didn't try to eat there, guidebooks indicate there are a couple of restaurants worth trying.

The hotel is a short walk to restaurants. It's a short taxi ride to the Port of Gruz. Two buses are available to go to the Old Town in Dubrovnik.

Upon entering my room I knew I made a mistake . It was hot !!! The rooms climate is controlled by management . I complained immediately, the front desk had gotten permission to adjust my AC. That lasted 1 night, although they insisted it was on. No English channels were working on TV and had to go to lobby to use Internet . Got locked in bathroom ,due to lock knob fell off. So guess what? I was stuck in a bathroom with heated floors , Needless to say I felt like I was in a sauna. Thank goodness they had an emergency string installed in the bathroom . I was rescued in about 5 minutes,but when you don't like to be hot it felt like forever. The location wasn't the best,but it wasn't the worst neither. Bus stop and market a few minutes walk. Hotel is located on a road that slopes, so either way you walk you will eventually have to walk up on an incline.

The rooms were pleasant and comfortable and the service we received absolutely made the holiday, all the staff from the main reception all the way down to the chambermaids were friendly, chatty and most helpful in making our stay a good one. The morning breakfast was varied by it's choice and quality and always gave us a great start to the day. Dubrovnik itself is one of the most delightful places that I have visited, the people, the sites and the restaurants with it's amazing fish dishes and service were first rate. Certainly worth another visit at a later date.

I am surprised for the high value I got from the low hotel rate. The facilities are great. There is also free indoor parking at basement with lift assess to your floor. All staff were courtest and showed their professionalism. The breakfast was included and exceptionally well for that hotel rate. The retaurant manager and service staff were very attentive and mindful. The only drawbck is that the location is a few kilometers from the centre in a quiet place, but if you drive like me it is still a very short distance. I would surely choose this hotel again on my next visit.

Comfort at a great price

The hotel was clean, comfortable, and in a good location. The breakfast buffet is pretty great. Only downfall is that the beds were two double beds pushed together but they were still very comfortable. Reception staff very helpful and proficient English speakers.

Very good hotel but a little far from the old city

Hotel Ivka is a very nice place to stay with an excellent buffet breakfast. I didn't try any other meals there. One potential drawback is the distance to the old town; about 35 minutes walk. In the end I actually didn't mind this as there are plenty of bars and restaurants and a nice beach/sea walk near to the hotel and the streets are quiet so evenings are easy to enjoy in the local neighbourhood and the old town can be visited in the day.

Well priced hotel, 10 min. ride from Old Town

We found this hotel to be as pictured on website. Check-in/out were easy (although the front desk staff not the most friendly), and the small garage below the hotel with free parking is most convenient if you're travelling by car. The included breakfast was good and varied and our room was clean and comfortable and the price was right. Overall no complaints and a good place to stay unless you want to be easy walking distance to Old Town or a beach. If I'm ever in Dubrovnik again, I may go for the beach........the sea views along the coast are spectacular!

Not a bad hotel, but definately towards the 'budget' end of hotels.

Booked a double but were givdn a twin with the beds pushed together. Room was fairly small with a sloping roof blocking it. No toiletries or facilities to make hot drinks in room and the bar closes at about 2230.

Some staff very friendly and helpful, others less so.

Breakfast provided gave us a start to the day but wasn't very good. Dinner avaioable 100kn but not worth it.

Wifi in room worked well. Lots of off road parking was great.

Ivka worked for us as 3 days of getting settled at the beginning of a holiday, but for us wasn't worth the money.

Decent hotel, but nothing outstanding.

There was nothing really bad about this hotel. It was fine. However, it also was nothing out of the ordinary. I don't think I would recommend against it, but I also don't think there is much to recommend about it (other than being located in Dubrovnik and not being particularly expensive).

Ok for short stay if price is right

Our recent stay at Hotel Ivka was just average and we had better accommodations in other parts of Croatia with less cost. Hotel was about 20 mins bus ride from Grad (old town) which was not a problem after navigating the bus route.
Breakfast buffet the first day was terrible as cooked items were over done and the juices were watered down. Somewhat better the next day. Hotel caters to bus tours and was quite busy. Wifi is good in the lobby and free. Rooms were small and not much furniture and a difficult bed for two people to sleep in.

Decent budget hotel in good location

The hotel is well situated in the lapad area and has convenient transport links to the old town, which is served by the no.6 bus. The room was decent and we had a lovely balcony. The only issue with the hotel is the poor sound proofing and was not helped by being woken up at 7am every morning by the chamber maids charting outside our room. The breakfast was not bad with a decent selection of cereal, cooked breakfast and fruit.

Great Base For Daily Travel - Beach or Old Town

Very clean, good selection at breakfast from fruits, to cooked. Coffee not quite filter standards but ok. Rooms spacious and good Air Con, hot water always on 'tap' with clean towels daily. Excellent base to stay as close to pedestrian area where all types of restaurants exist.
