I loved my stay at this hotel. The location was super convenient, so close to the main shopping district and a 5 minute walk from the trams and buses, or a 20 minute walk to Sakurajima or the train station. The room was comfortable and the hotel offered a lot of amenities, such as extra pillows, a microwave, laundry service, a 'help yourself' style bar for toiletries and teas. There's also a huge collection of manga. The rooms are cleaned every day and you can request not to have it cleaned. If they aren't cleaned, the staff will still leave you clean pyjamas, towels and bin bags for if you need to freshen up your room. The hotel kindly merged my separate stays into one so I didn't have to change rooms.

Japanese Only Should Be Their Slogan

Check in was relatively smooth. I carried several bags from the car in front of front desk person who didn't assist. Hotel was okay except for one major incident. The front desk employees were nasty and cranky anytime I interacted. Almost like they didn't want to assist me, except for one lady who spoke English well. I think it was Ms.T. The lady working on the buffet was extremely nice. The hotel itself is located in the heart of the drinking area of town. I was on the 7TH floor and could hear drunken partiers and noisy singing late into the night. There was huge step from the room up into the bathroom. It was sorta dangerous. Room was tiny. I have travelled to MANY countries. I encountered a first at this place. I totally get it that Japan doesn't have a lot of foreign visitors to the far out regions. I am a permanent resident here so understand the language well and understand the looks folks give when being racist. I came back to the hotel on the second night of my two night stay and the guy behind the front desk had that, what is a foreigner doing here look! He then opened the covid safety curtain to question my presence there and another person on the front desk told him, he is a guest here. It really disappointed me and I was considering checking out right then and there. Hotels.com handled it extremely well and I have total faith in them. I work in hotels in Japan and know this isn't normal to question a paying guest who returns to his room. Will never go back.

The hotel is surrounded by bars and places to get \"services\". We didn't mind but I don't suggest bringing kids on this side of town lol. The location was pretty good, easy walk to the port to get to the volcano. The hotel staff was super nice and they did a great job keeping our room clean. We didn't get the all you can eat for breakfast because the covid-19 made it dangerous however we got bentos. I'll be honest the bentos wasn't that great and is basically the same thing every time. We were there for 7 days.The really cool thing is all the free soap samples and bath salt, they also had a place where you can choose the type of pillow you want. I don't know if it will be free forever but man it was really nice to choose from 7 different types of pillows. They also had some great deals on gifts you can bring back home.

The location of the hotel was easy to find and checkout/check in were both quick. It’s close to the downtown area, but still quiet at night. They also seem to have a lot of great amenities you can take up in the lobby. The pillow menu they have at each floor is also great! The condition of the room showed general signs of wear, but wasn’t uncomfortable or dirty. For the price, it’s a good hotel to stay at. Was also very close to the airport shuttle.

In the vicinity of Tenmonkan area and very close to a lot of restaurants. 15 to 20 minutes walk to the main station and Dolphin Port. Bus stop is 10 minutes from the hotel. Overall location is very good for a our two night stay in Kagoshima.

We really enjoyed our visit to the Plaza. It is located a short walk off one of the main streets in Kagoshima. The maze of arcades and one of the main department stores are a short walk away.
Our room had a small tub/bath with a shower overhead.
An excellent buffet was provided for breakfast.
A tram stop is about five minutes' walk away.

Amazing experience

There are so many hotels like this one in Kagoshima city but I was recommended to stay there. My daughter and I stayed there for 2 nights. It was our first visit to Kagoshima. Unfortunately the weather forecast was raining the following day. So I was presently surprised that the decent umbrellas were ready to be borrowed. We could not do the sightseeing the following day without them. When we returned the hotel, before the entrance, there were towels for us to use to take any wet bits off! This I call, true Omotenashi. What I like more was a range of facilities available for the guests especially multiple mobile cables so that we did not need to take out our own.
Although the hotel is in the middle of busy area during the day but it was very quiet at night. The reception area was specious with friendly efficient staff. We will stay there again.

Great Location

Excellent location and easy to walk to Kagoshima Chuo Station and other areas of interest. Very close to airport shuttle bus stop - about a 5 minute walk. Walk to major shopping district and restaurants galore. Very nice hotel staff and great breakfast - only wish they offered fresh fruit with breakfast. The single rooms are super small by American standards. The bathroom feels like you’re in a RV. The room has everything one needs, even a multi charging station for your electronic devices.

5 mins walk to the Tenmonkan tram station. Airport shuttle bus from the airport to Tenmonkan around 45 mins costs YEN1,250. You can buy welcome cute 1 day pass in the reception. The welcome cute 1 day pass is YEN1,000. We have a dinner at 鹿児島ラーメン豚とろ for a ramen. 豚とろ is 5 mins far away from the hotel.

About 15 min walk from airport bus drop off point. Lots of restaurants, café, convenience stores & local retail stores along the way which are great for nearby shopping. Just 15 min walk to Dolphin Port and 20 min walk to Chu station, Amu Plaza, Aeon, Bic. Hotel aircon control in Japanese only, so need to try a no. of times to adjust the ideal temperature. Manga can be borrowed for free which make it interesting after returning hotel. Special request addressed.......asked for screwdriver to fix the wheelchair & a staff helped out quickly. Overall hospitable service!

Was given a smoking room even though I detest the smell of smoke.

Had Chinese people next door, could not sleep AT all as they didn't stop talking, at 12 AM I went downstairs and the staff asked them to quiet down.

5 minutes later they started again, staff didn't even bother going back up after I went back down at 1AM, I had to go to the room myself and tell them to shut up.

In the morning asked if I wanted to move rooms, didn't have the other room ready and moved me to another smoking room (wreaks of smoke!) I had to pack all my stuff and move take it to reception where I was promised it would be moved by them to my room, upon return I then had to take my stuff back up to the other room! Awful service awful hotel

Typical Japanese budget/business hotel. Walking distance to shopping (incl. shotengai and Donquijote) and Tenmokandori tram and bus stops. Also walkable from Kagoshima chuo station. Good value for money. Free facial masksheet for ladies. The hotel is in the hostbar area but actually as a solo female traveller, I felt safe walking late at night with so many lights and activities. Also the room was quiet at night despite the activities. The room also had a charger for ligtning and micro usb. Only drawback was that on the day I checked out my baggage was left out in the lobby only somewhat attended when I went back to pick it up late in the evening (around 7pm).

Surreal value for any budget traveller

Although it's located in the red light district, it feels safe. I think it's the best bang for your buck for any budget traveller. Hotel is ok in size and newly renovated, staff is friendly and helpful, breakfast is fresh and kitchen staff is helpful. At cupsule hotel price in Tokyo, you could get a newly renovated room in central area of Kagoshima! I could not complain at all.

Fairly standard Japanese business hotel in fairly tame, standard Japanese red light district. Hotel is clean, rooms aren't that big. There's tons of parking around. Nothing bad about this hotel, not too much special either.

A gem in Tenmonkan

Hiding a block or two behind the main strip in Tenmonkan is this gem of a hotel. The rooms are Japan business class size, but the furnishings are a step above many of the other business class hotels in the same area. Tops on my list is a large selection of pillows free for the choosing. The TV is large and the bed is comfortable, and yes there is a mini USB jack right next to the bed. The hotel is a bit far from Kagoshima's central (Chuo) bullet train station, but if you are going to be in Kagoshima for a few days, it's better to stay in Tenmonkan. The area has a roofed shopping arcade which stretches for blocks in all directions. Tenmonkan is also part of any transportation route, so you can catch the express bus for the airport or a city tram.

noisy, stiff bed, bad key policy

has annoying key babysitting policy -must leave key with front desk every time you step out. other problem is it's in middle of many nightlife shops so you will hear lots of drunken yelling and noise. i sometimes couldn't sleep because of the noise. the bed was also stiff, hard and uncomfortable.

Good location for nightlife area in Kagoshima. A bit of a walk to the main JR (bullet train) train station but you can catch a nearby tram/streetcar. Breakfast (buffet) was optional extra but was good quality and worth it. Room was small (to be expected) and bathroom was excellent. I would stay there again.

年末にかけて１週間くらい過ごしました。
渋滞で鹿児島空港からバス停天文館まで１時間かかり、降車後はスーツケースを引いて徒歩10分くらいでホテルに到着しました。
周辺にホテルが多いので最初は少し迷いましたが、慣れるとセンテラスまで割とすぐでした。
周辺環境に関しては、電車の通りに出るとグルメや買い物メインの繁華街ですが、こちらのホテルの立地は歓楽街の中にあるので、お子様連れの方は少し気になるかなと思いました。
ホテルに関しては古さは感じますが、丁寧に清掃されている印象でした。
ただ浴室関連が少し気になりました。
シャワーカーテン付近の生乾き臭など、水回りの臭いが少し気になったことと、排水溝が詰まりやすかったので、ゴミを取ったりして使用しました。それと、シャワーのコックが硬すぎてひねるのに苦労しました。
部屋によって違うのかもしれませんが、同じように感じる方が多ければ改善してほしいと思います。
それ以外はとても快適な良いホテルでした。
Wi-Fi速度も安定し、コンセントの数も多く、フロント横のアメニティコーナーや各階にあるタオルなど備品コーナーが大変役立ちました。
私は12階のスタンダードクイーンと、デラックスツインの２種の部屋に宿泊したのですが、ツインの方は窓から少し桜島が見えました。
夜食サービスのカレーも美味しかったです。
最高な点はベッドがエアウィーヴだったことです。初めて使用しましたが、腰痛の負担が軽減される感じがしてぐっすり眠れました。
宿泊料金も他より安いし、何よりエアウィーヴが大変良かったので、また来年も宿泊したいなと思いました。

난 원래 일본가면 토요코인 호텔만 이용하은 편인데, 이번 가고시마 2박은 이 호텔에서 이용했다. 가격이 저렴해서 호텔 상태가 걱정되었지만, 결론적으로 너무 훌륭했다. 침대도 좋았고, 복도에서 베개도 직접 고를 수 있었으며, 수건도 항상 비치해 놓아서 여유롭게 사용할 수 있었다. 10층인가…정수기와 아이스 메이커가 있었으며, 조식을 끝내줬다.
저녁에 1층 조식식당에서 무료로 카레를 제공하는 시간대가 있으며, 짐 보관 서비스도 받았다.
텐몬칸 중심에 있어서 사쿠라지마 페리 터미널이나, 가고시마 전철역도 도보로 이동했으며, 재방문의사 100%이다.
조식은 사전에 꼭 신청하길 추천한다.

チェックイン前、チェックイン後、快く荷物を預かって下さいました。また、バス乗り場を尋ねた際も丁寧に教えていただきました。部屋は以前泊まった部屋に比べて狭いような気がしました。カギが硬く、二つのうち一つは私の力ではカチンとできませんでした。
10階の自販機、両替機では新1,000円札が使えず、コインランドリーの100円玉を用意するのが手間取りました。

はじめてお世話になりましたが、大手チェーン店にない工夫や努力が随所見られ、お部屋は清潔で、朝食はかなりおいしかったです。鹿児島の定宿にしたいと思います。

スタッフのサービスに関しては満足です。
ただチェックイン後部屋に入った時に床にお菓子（ピーナッツ）が落ちていました、あと浴室の排水溝が詰まっていてシャワーを浴びていても排水されずに流したお湯が溜まっていってそこだけが残念でした。

Best of the Best !!!!!! Trust me! Mark my words!!!

Best Ever Business Hotel I've ever experienced in whole of Japanese Isles, I mean I've been to places from Miyakojima to Hokkaido but this hotel was so special in my heart. Not just the cost but friendliness of all the staff, cleanness not to mention the breakfast. Walkable distance from Tenmonkan bus stations and night life.

快適なホテル

天文館から近く快適に過ごせました
アメニティが充実しておりコミックが１階ロビーに沢山あり部屋に持ち込めます
今回は読む機会がなかったですが余裕のある時には利用してみたいです
朝食バイキングも地元の食材を使用したものが用意されています
ただ当日日替わりの料理（私の時は黒豚の軟骨煮でした）は早々になくなっていたので7時半ぐらいには行っておいた方がいいかも

鹿児島マラソンで利用

施設は多少老朽化しているが、総合的に必要十分と言える。
天文館のバス停や市電乗り場からは若干の距離あり。
