Puri Sebali is truly paradise! The staff here are friendly and most accommodating. I arrived a day early and they went out their way to provide me a room at 1:00am. The rooms are clean and just beautiful! I have stayed in 3 of their rooms to include the villa and you will not be disappointed with either! I most definitely will return when I visit Bali again!

The property is definitely not a 4.5 star property more like 3 stars. The management at this resort was the worse. I left my wallet in the safe when I checked out and it contained my credit cards and passport. I called the hotel to let them know, they stated that there was nothing in the safe. I drove back to the property and the manager kept asking me if maybe I left it somewhere else. She was trying to make me feel as if I was crazy and never had my wallet in the safe. Long story short don't stay here, if an issue arises, management will not help you. This was the most horrible experience I have ever had. I travel a lot and nothing like this has ever happened to me. Yes I left in the safe but that doesn't mean I should have been treated the way that I was. Thank goodness I was able to get back home. I'm also happy that I had amazing stays at the other properties while in Bali because this definitely left a nasty taste in my mouth. I DO NOT RECCOMEND PURI SEBALI at all.

My husband and I stayed here for 5 days in early October 2024. The resort was fantastic and the staff were extremely kind and attentive. There were a lot of food options at the restaurant and the food was really good. They offer a free shuttle to Ubud center. The view of the rice terrace was spectacular. We would definitely stay here again!

Quiet area, next to picturesque rice fields. We enjoyed the guided morning walk to the rice fields. Room was spacious, comfortable and well air conditioned. rooms were updated and well provisioned, with water, toiletries, etc. Lighting in bathroom could be better. Bathroom arrangement with semi-outdoor toilet area was strange — also meant that insects could get in, and air conditioning went out. No instructions on how to use in room TV. Very good breakfast.

We had a 3 day 2 night stay in this beautiful hotel. Staff could not do enough for us, they were amazing. Breakfast was excellent, we also had dinner there which was fantastic.Hotel room was spacious, beautiful shower and bath, separate toilet. A/C was great room stayed lovely and cool. Property is beautifully situated and the pool was great. Spa was fabulous. All in all wish we could have stayed for a longer visit. We used the shuttle into Ubud, also we were picked up by pre arrangement by the Hotel in Benoa and again used the hotel to take us to Denpasar Airport, every pickup went smoothly. The views from the dininag area of the Hotel are simply fantastic. Close to Monkey Gorest and Elephant Sanctuary. Would love to go back to this spot.

The hotel does have hotel for those who have a rental vehicle like we did. Would definitely come back .

-Pool stayed cold so it was always refreshing.
-Villa was very \"IG worthy\".
-Restaurant staff were kind and the service was fast.
-View from the restaurant was nice.
-Complimentary shuttle that takes you to central Ubud.

Cons:
-AC was awful. I was constantly hot and had to resort to the pool/shower to cool down. During the night I slept with a bag of ice on my head, but still woke up several times sweating once the ice melted.
-Reception was VERY pushy with booking spa service. Would interrupt us at breakfast and wouldn't take no for an answer.
-The bathroom had an indoor-outdoor situation that let mosquitoes/bugs into the room. You have to sleep with the bug net around the bed which further adds to the temperature issue.
-Shuttle service was very limited (only 12pm-8:30 pm every 2-3 hours).
-Restaurant food was bland except for pastries/jams.
-One staff member was highly inappropriate (Felix). During our ride, he went into great detail about his financial hardships and made us feel almost as if we had to give him a good tip or that we were bad people/greedy. He also searched me and my partner up on Instagram and tried to add us both. He liked an inappropriate picture of me from over 2 years ago which made us both uncomfortable. We cancelled our ride with him and he called the hotel while he wasn't working to try and speak with us. Very uncomfortable. I have tried contacting the hotel about this and no response for 4 days now.

Clean and spacious villa room. Staff were friendly and willing to help any way they can. Had a wasp/bee in the room and the staff helped to ‘remove’ it and even spray some nice perfume in the room. It’s tropical area, what can you expect; sounds of frog and crickets all around at night.

Breakfast has the same 4 cuisine daily but it’s generous portion.

Nothing much around the neighbourhood and we rely on grabfood for some of our dinners.

Overall, satisfied with the 4nights without complains.

The best hotel we have ever stayed in. The location is breathtaking, eating breakfast overlooking the rice terrace is an unforgettable experience.
We stayed in a private pool villa, which was stunning, it had everything we needed, cleaned to a very high standard every day and we were even provided with turn down service and a night time story which was a thoughtful touch.
The staff were all incredible, so friendly and couldn't do enough to help you, they made us feel so welcome. We would like to stay a huge thank you to all of the staff at Puri Sebali, especially Adi, Suka, Desak and Apri. Highly recommend this hotel.

It’s amazing! From the free breakfast, free tea time, free morning walk (by the paddy fields), free bicycle use, free shuttle to the city.

The view from the pool, restaurant, and our room is amazing as well.

Room is cleaned twice a day, they give free fruits as well. You can really see that the rooms are well maintained.

The shower gel and shampoo smell so nice. They also give out bedtime stories (great gesture, just need to suggest that next time maybe use a better translated one?)
If you cannot live without netflix and Disney+ In a bigger screen, just bring your PC, TV is not smart.

We really felt taken care of by the staff here. Topnotch service. We will definitely come back here when we travel to Bali again.

Puri Sebali was a birthday treat & it turned out to be a great one! I stayed in the Royal Villa & the room was beautiful with a stunning view of the Sebali Rice Terraces. The staff was wonderful & made sure we had a pleasant check-in. The breakfast was my favorite part of the day with several options & well cooked food. All service requests were promptly handled. It's a 15 min bike ride from Ubud which I liked & felt like a private & quiet location.
The only minor complaint I had was the smell of dung wafting in from the cows on the rice terrace, to which they did end up putting an aromatic electric candle in the room! And it would be lovely if the staff sent a reminder to guests for high tea that's included in the stay, we were sad to have missed it completely. Thanks to Puri Sebali & staff for making my birthday a very memorable one!! I highly recommend it for a lovely stay in Bali.

The main infinity pool facing the rice terrace is definitely the highlight of this resort. The staff and service is top quality. We could see that they went above and beyond to make sure we had a comfortable stay. We had no major issues. This hotel is situated 10 minutes away from the main Ubud centre but the hotel provides a free shuttle service to and from the main town (note it is on a timetable).

Worst experience ever! Definitely don’t recommend!

Absolute worse resort I have been to! Don’t waste your money or time there. Visited Bali with my family and stayed at several different resorts in man different locations. This by far was the worse resort I stayed at. I stayed for a few days and I definitely don’t recommend it at all. Service, staff, and cleanliness were shocking. The staff including the general manager were so rude. They threatened my husband saying that they’ve got copies of our passports and our details, calling us liars because we needed to check out early due to emergency back home, hung up on my husband saying he has no time for him. They also accused us of stealing the music Bluetooth device after checking out while we didn’t even have one in our room when we got there. We chose to stay at a villa wanting to have our own private pool. However, we couldn’t even use it due to it being so dirty. Leaves, dead insects and creatures floating all around. Housekeeping wasn’t done properly. The only thing that was getting done was the bed and getting rid of towels. Bins did not get changed everyday and essentials weren’t getting restocked on a daily basis. Our room had a double bed instead of a king which did not meet our room descriptions. Public pool was small and does not really accommodate for the amount of people staying at the resort. We couldn’t really use it because it was always full. Overall, we had a shocking experience and will never be back there or recommend it to anyone.

I love the place! It’s located in Ubud but isolated away from the crowd in between paddy field. I arrived at 545pm after a long day trip and was greeted warmly by the staff and cold drinks. They also have complimentary foot massage which I needed so badly that day. Unfortunately they are fully book until closing time at 6pm. But they still entertain my request to do massage after 6pm, which I truly appreciate.

The surrounding area is breathtaking as well where the pool is overlooking paddy field. I enjoyed my breakfast at the restaurant with the green paddy view. The room has modern Balinese design and clean. Overall I love the amenities and the friendly staff. I would definitely stay again here for my next visit in Bali.

Heavenly Puri Sebali

Puri Sebali is an absolute sanctuary in the middle of one of the most beautiful spots in Bali. We stayed as a family with a toddler and loved our two-night stay. We booked a 1-bedroom villa with a private pool and stunning views of the adjoining rice paddies. Waking up to the magnificent rice paddy views every morning was just heaven.

Our villa was massive with plenty of space for everything. The pool is also very generously sized with sun loungers to enjoy some much-needed relaxation. The resort itself is very beautiful with views of the rice paddies and picturesque countryside everywhere you look. The resort restaurant is very well run and serves delicious food. Breakfast is not a buffet at is the norm at most Bali resorts. Instead, they serve a complimentary a la carte breakfast, which is very tasty.

Puri Sebali is a boutique resort, very secluded and quiet. If you're looking for lots of entertainment and amenities close by this is not the resort for you. Access to shops and other attractions is all done by car - you can't walk anywhere quickly. The resort offers a regular shuttle bus to a nearby shopping strip with restaurants and cafes, which is about a 10-minute drive or you can walk for 30 minutes through the rice paddies.

Nice hotel with a great pool area and what a view. Be prepared for the insect noises and the other animals, we had a hard time sleeping the first nights because of some very loud frogs. But the staff provided us with earplugs.
The staff is very kind and helpful. We had a spa treatment which was very nice.
The hotel is not really in Ubud maybe 20-30 min out just so you know.

Very nice hotel about 20 mins from the centre of Ubud. The hotel free shuttle was great to get to the centre as there is nothing much near the hotel. They hotel is very quiet both in the day and at night so we didn’t really stay there that much. The hotel pool is the best bit about this hotel as it overlooks the rice fields. The hotel breakfast was ok but would be better if there was more choice on the menu.

Beautiful resort in the most tranquil setting!

Absolute bliss. The resort itself is breathtakingly beautiful and set in the jungle with views of the rice terraces. The staff are friendly, polite and will always go above and beyond to help you and to ensure your stay is a great one. They have daily shuttles to central Ubud, daily rice terrace treks, and other free complimentary classes, as well as complimentary daily afternoon tea. The infinity pool was a dream, as it overlooked the rice terraces and was open 24/7! We were grateful for our upgrade when we got to the hotel, especially as this was the last leg of our Bali trip and we did just want to relax. So thank you Puri Sebali for a wonderful stay, we will be back!

We had the most amazing stay from the time we arrived to when we left. Friendly staff that go out of their way to do anything you ask. Great shuttle service back and forth from town saved on taxi fares. Complimentary activities each morning from yoga by the pool to rice paddy walks (literally through the rice paddies) Gorgeous food, clean rooms and to top it all off with views that will absolutely amaze you.

This hotel has it all, amazing. We were celebrating a birthday and the hotel added extra little touches that made a huge difference, the hotel is about 20 min to Ubud however there is a shuttle bus that runs frequently through out the day.

The manager Anggela and her staff are amazing they have a very natural way of making you feel welcome and at home. Nothing is too much trouble for them.

I would as you can tell from my review, recommend this hotel.

We will definitely be back.

Paradise in ubud!

This resort is a little piece of paradise. Extremely restful, quiet, but very well appointed. I was in a one bedroom villa with my own pool, stunning views across the rice field and I never wanted to leave.

The food in the restaurant is delicious. I recommend trying the local breakfasts (a delightful alternative to bacon and eggs) and lunch/dinner great too.

Absolutely lovely boutique style hotel

Beautiful hotel with stunning rice paddy terrace views. Lovely stylish rooms - looks like all have a nice balcony and view. Really great little restaurant which produced lovely food. Good breakfasts and we ate two dinners there as well -all lovely. Free afternoon tea with Balinese treat was a highlight. The main pool was usually empty and so relaxing to swim in with the wonderful view as backdrop. Fabulous well maintained gardens. We did a rice paddy walk one morning and a wonderful yoga class on another morning - all included.

The hotel is absolutely gorgeous with a view across the rice terraces. Nothing better than eating breakfast or having a swim looking out at that! We stayed in a rice terrace view room-highly recommend. The staff were just beautiful, every single one. The food available was delicious and the free shuttle in to Ubud us awesome, otherwise it would cost alot. When I come back to Ubud I will definitely stay here again.

The hotel is beyond lovely and the staff are always prepared to go that extra mile for you. I couldn't recommend this hotel more for someone looking for cheap and local hotel in Ubud.
As the hotel is located away from the centre there is a shuttle service that will take you to the centre which is ideal. You can also hire a driver or use one of the hotels taxis.

Perfect hotel for a retreat

I was intrigued by the beautiful view of the padi terrace which the hotel offered. I could relax in the pool or have a meal, all the while taking in the serene view. The grand suite was tastefully done up and it feels warm and welcoming. The idyllic atmosphere of the resort gave me a much needed peace and quiet. There were also some free activities provided by the hotel. I love the morning walk in the padi fields and the nice afternoon tea. The resort has an excellent chef who whips up very delectable food. I looked forward to my meal times during the whole duration of my stay.

Everything is excellent, especially the staff. They are helpful, friendly & always checking on us or engaged in a conversation with us.

Other than the location is secluded, the resort's serene surroundings is a plus point for getaway from the busy streets in Central Ubud. So make sure you have a driver to bring you around Bali if you also want to enjoy the quiet hills.

Seclusion with all the comforts

We had 4 nights here.... 2 in a pool villa. Excellent facilities and the staff were always a jump ahead, which is rare in Bali. . On one occasion we forgot to mention having the salad dressing aside from the meal, yet the staff remembered. Only a small detail, but at the top level, this is what stands out.

I really love the place, there is nothing from us to comment,, for us everything was incredibly excellent.
Thank you for your lovely welcome even we arrived there at late night. Both of us were exhausted from the whole day trip but once we arrived i felt like this was the real heaven. The villa was extremly huge and the cleanliness was tip top. All staffs was very helpful and friendly as i could felt the real smile from balinese. The tradition balinese breakfast served infornt of the greatest rice terrace,, there is nothing i could ask for more. We difinitely back to you again very soon.

Our experience at Puri Sebali was everything we expected and more. The resort and grounds are serene and beautiful, the views stunning, the rooms relaxing and spacious. But what really makes this place special is the staff. Every single person we met was kind, welcoming and gracious. One of the things we enjoy so much about traveling is meeting people. We enjoyed every person we met at Puri Sebali!

Overall a great place to stay and experience Ubud. Staff are an asset to Puri sebali. Big thank you to Eddy and Eri for their hospitality. They organised a surprised cake for my boyfriends birthday which was a lovely touch. Rooms are excellent and of high quality. Location is idyllic with easy access to Ubud via shuttle. Make sure to book in for karsa spa down the road for a great massage.

Beautiful resort with great service

Beautiful well equipped resort in an idyllic setting. The staff were so helpful even making us breakfast boxes for our last morning as they heard we were leaving at 6am. Shuttle to the town centre and after travelling around preferred this to staying right in Ubud centre as its so tranquil. Pool is lovely and so many little treats as part of your stay I've never felt so well looked after would definitely recommend and stay again.

We had the best holiday at Puri Sebali, a small, intimate, friendly , family like resort, nothing was a bother, blown away by a suite room , Eddie and all staff in restaurant were amazing, helpful and super friendly to us, I did resort cooking class and it was fantastic, thank you 'chef'. Front desk as you walk in were amazing, friendly, always asking were I was going each day when I went out for a walk, treated like family members. Blown away by resort when we arrived, beautiful views of rice fields, beautiful well maintained resort, loved that it wasn't a huge resort full of hundreds of people, a great place for families, singles etc etc, can't wait to go back, thank you to everyone at Puri Sebali resort making our 1st time to Ubud a very rememberal one, can't say enough lovely words about resort and staff, thank you, joanne & Ella

Great Resort in a quiet area just outside center

I had a wonderful time at Puri Sebali. The staff was all incredibly friendly and helpful. The rooms were well maintained and clean with beautiful views. I took a cooking class, which I highly recommend - the food we made was delicious and can be easily recreated at home, and Eddie, the bar manager also taught me how to make his signature cocktail, the Eye of the Dragon. The hotel is not in the center of Ubud, but the complimentary shuttle to and from the hotel was convenient and easy, and I enjoyed that it was in a quieter area. It is also possible to walk to Ubud as well. Overall, I felt well-taken care of and enjoyed my stay and would definitely return next time I am in Ubud.

Lovely facade and staff but disappointing stay

My fiance and I stayed at Puri Sebali for two nights on our Bali holiday. Our initial impression of the resort and our room was absolute delight. The staff were lovely, and the room looked gorgeous, with a high ceiling, view of the rice fields and plenty of space. I wasn't so much a fan of the open bathoom, but that might just be a personal preference.
The first issue: on our first night we realised that the room was absolutely bug infested. There were critters in our bed, on the floor, ants crawling into our snacks, and mosquitos. We were informed by management that a \"fogging\" aka insect extermination was taking place the next day so we decided not to say anything about our first night's experience, but found that even after the fogging, the amount of bugs in our room did not chage. We ended up sleeping covered in DEET for the remainder of our time there and lots of tissues to remove the insects..
The second issue: I took a bath on my first night in the lovely bath tub in our room, and found out that there was a leak somewhere in the bath tub after I finished my bath and found a large trail of bath water had made its way into the bedroom. The staff were very swift in inspecting and clearing up the mess, but it left me wondering how this could happen in a 4.5 star resort.
The third issue: the second night, after a long day hike, we found out we had no running water. It was again swiftly fixed by management, but why did it happen in the first place in a 4.5 star resort.

We were looking forward to this due to the great reviews however we were very dissapointed as this hotel made it impossible to relax. Construction from 8 to 5 every day and a stench of cow poo from back yard.

Nice pool villa with stunning rice field view

The hotel is right next to a rice field. We stayed there in September and the rice field was at its lushest green. We're at pool villa 805 and view was stunning. The private pool is one of the biggest in terms of private pool. Overall the room is excellent - clean spacious with stunning view of rice field.
The only thing is the breakfast is in rather small portion and it didn't taste good. Because of this we didn't bother staying for dinner. I think they will need to make improvement for their restaurant. Also massage in the Hotel is really expensive.

Location: 3/5 - The hotel is about a 14-min drive from the village center. This is a good or bad thing depending on whether one wants the seclusion. It's not very walkable to anything interesting. However, it overlooks a rice terrace that's beautiful.
Room: 5/5 - The villa had a private pool & was comfortable.
Service: 5/5 - The staff was accommodating & very friendly.

Relaxation and an amazing view

We had a lovely stay at Puri Sebali resort.

The staff were very friendly on our arrival and we were given a welcome drink before being shown to the room.

The room was very comfortable and on the whole very clean apart from an empty sugar packet left on the floor and a couple of stains on the bed sheets.

The staff at the restaurant were very nice but the food was just ok.

The hotel offers a shuttle service into Ubud - a pleasant surprise was when the staff offered to drive us personally to a specific restaurant we wanted to visit and then they came to pick us up later.

The best part of the resort is undoubtedly the views over the rice fields - we spent a day by the pool and couldn't get enough of the beautiful surroundings.

If you are hoping to spend a lot of time in Ubud then be warned that the town centre is a good 20min drive away but if you are looking for relaxation then Puri Sebali is the place to be.

We stayed 5 nights and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The place is a bit far from Ubud, but the scenery compensates everything. They also have a free shuttle. The staff go the extra mile to please you. Very good value for money. I would go back any time...

Wonderful & Romatic Private Villa Experience!!

We stayed 3 nights in a \"Villa, 1 Bedroom, Private Pool\" at this resort in March 2015 during its soft opening and had an absolutely wonderful time! We pre-arranged a complimentary transfer from the airport to the resort by emailing with the resort in advance (they were very responsive to my questions). The views from the resort are great. Our villa's pool and its patio, complete with lounge chairs (cushions provided too) and umbrella, were inviting, and the room was modern yet retained an authentic feel. The villa is air-conditioned, except the bathroom was not. The shower has both a rain shower and a handheld shower. And, there is a separate tub.

The resort provides unlimited (at least they kept replenishing our supply) bottled water in the room. It has a lot of free services, including complimentary shuttle to/from Ubud on a schedule, morning yoga classes on a schedule, afternoon tea, rice terrace guided walks, wifi, etc. The resort offers complimentary breakfast, which guests can choose to have in the restaurant or in their room/villa. We also hired a car and driver through the hotel.

We did each utilize the spa our final morning. The setting of the spa was very peaceful; but, it was more expensive than spas in Ubud town. It did directly overlook the rice terraces.

Best place ever !

It's probably one of the best place i ever stay in Ubud. Located a bit far away from Ubud town but it's totally worth the travel as the resort is totally a hidden gem. Located just right across the paddy terrace. Quiet and peaceful. Hotel staff is very friendly and they even provide free afternoon tea. There is free shuttle every 2 hour to Ubud town.

Pure bliss

Quite possibly the most amazing place on earth. Right in the jungle over looking a rice paddy. We had 3 of us staying in a private villa and it is 100% worth ever extra penny versus a normal room. The private pool and deluxe bathroom is perfect. The staff were amazing and booked us last minute into a bunch of great tours (river rafting, cooking class (even made sure it was vegetarian)- one time they booked our tour while we were getting shuttled to town (about a 10-15 minute drive). They really went above and beyond. The icing on the cake was the free breakfast!!! Fresh fruit, smoothies, freshly baked goods (so yummy and still warm!), as well as your main course -you will leave STUFFED! On our last day they arranged for a yoga instructor to come in and instructed a course overlooking the paddy. They was a free guided rice paddy walk in the mornings as well. The hotel was built in January 2015 I believe and is in great condition. The only bad thing I could think of would be the fact the coffee was bad - but that goes for ALL of Bali... It sounded like they had an espresso machine so perhaps it will be improved in the future.
