We visit Cape Cod at least once a year and always stay here. It is cozy and quiet and just across the road from the visitor center. The new owners couldn’t be nicer and make us feel right at home. Why would we stay anywhere else?

The flowers were in full bloom and all the gardens were beautifully maintained. The common areas of the house were comfortable and inviting and there were outdoor spaces to enjoy as well. Breakfast was a treat, especially if you like waffles! Lots of variety to choose from. The hosts went out of their way to make sure our stay was a delight. They were very knowledgeable about the area and offered suggestions and provided information when asked. We would definitely return.

I chose this inn because I wanted to awaken on a “special” birthday in special surroundings. I chose well. Our garden win was perfect. This historic inn was both interesting and aesthetically pleasing as well as comfortable. Our innkeepers and their staff were warm, friendly and fun. Breakfasts were delightfully delicious. The scones were the best I’ve ever had, and we had a large variety of fresh fruits. Our stay here fulfilled all my expectations of a memorable experience. Thank you, Melody and Paul.

Overall: Uneasy feeling

Long story, so I'll try to keep this short...

I was not interested in a tour of the Inn the night I checked in. I just wanted to go to my room since it was almost 11pm, but the owner insisted. We had already had a previous conversation and made an arrangement of how I would access my room. When I would leave for work I'd turn to the house and notice I was being watched by the owner through the windows. The tub was not comfortable to take a shower in, hard to get into and surrounded by plastic. There were not enough outlets for charging two phones and a laptop. I suggest a surge protector be provided for each room. There was no comfortable spot to work remotely in my room. Breakfast starts at 8am. I had to be on other sites by then. I suggest fruit, bagels, cereal be avaible for individuals who cannot make it to breakfast. One last thing... the sanatized key in an envelope is a great idea but the execution needed tweeking, a laminated note in my room said to return the key to the front desk at check-out. Probably best just to leave it in my room when I was done with my stay.

Best place in Cape Cod

A great place with AMAZING hospitality. Melody and her husband were beyond anything you can ask for from a host.
They made sure everything is safe and clean and maintained all necessary arrangement (under COVID-19). Melody gave us the most detailed and thoughtful tour as we arrived with great suggestion of things to do. Breakfast was exceptional, they actually print out menus daily with a huge variety of bake goods (even gluten free bread!), fruit, eggs, yogurt bowls and more.
If that is not enough, at night they fired up the fire pit they have in the back and we set around and played music.
The property is huge, clean, quiet and surrounded by a beautiful open outdoor space. It is a quick drive to many restaurant, trails and tourist attractions. Don't miss this gem on your next visit to cape cod.

Must Stay!

The Inn at the Oaks is a must stay! It was my partner's and my first trip to Cape Cod and there was no better way to experience it for the first time. It's a quick drive to a couple of the most popular beaches and the rooms and atmosphere were great. The continental breakfast was also a great way to start the day! We will definitely be back!

If you're looking for a place to stay on the Cape year-round I'd absolutely recommend The Inn at the Oaks! Melody and Paul were excellent hosts--they were friendly and accommodating. The Inn itself is cute and has a ton of character. There are a bunch of different rooms around the house you can hang out in if you don't want to be in your room and they put out chocolates and cookies around the house, which were nice treats! It's a great location--right on Route 6 and right in between Orleans and Wellfleet so there's a lot to do. The room was comfortable and clean and Melody even let us switch to a bigger room because no one was booked in it. We had an amazing time and will definitely be coming back!

This is an Inn, not a B&B. No hot breakfast. Only coffee,tea,juice, plus breads, yogurt, and fruit. We went out for breakfast, which added $20+ to our overnight stay. That said, we thought the Inn was attractive, the staff was welcoming, and the homemade cookies upon arrival were yummy. We had a very comfortable, small bedroom with king-size bed. Quiet -- it was late November.

Charming old hotel with lots of sitting areas. The rooms are small and the beds are very high. A short or elderly person needs a stepping stool. The temperature in the room is not adjustable as the whole house is under one control. My room was down to 65 degrees one night. They say to open the window if it gets too cold but there are no screens on the windows which lets in all the bugs. The bathroom is outdated and small. There is little place to put your toiletries and no hook for your towels which are kept on a stand in the bedroom. Breakfast is a sugar feast. Cakes, jam, peanut butter, fruit Jogurt, and Kellogg’s cereal. There is also a bowl with fresh cut fruit. But no eggs or any non sugared protein. The best part about the hotel were the various sitting areas that we used as we were traveling with friends. All in all I thought the hotel was overpriced for what was offered.

The Inn staff are so friendly, warm and easy-going, we instantly felt at home. The room was immaculate, the fresh fruit at breakfast was a treat and the cookies midday added to the relaxed, home away from home feeling at the Inn. We loved the location for spending the day at a bayside beach, but the Inn is equally well located for an oceanside beach. While the Inn is off of Route 6, our roadside facing room was quiet - the house is set back off the road on a lovely property with lots of little nooks for outside breakfast or glass of wine.

Very sweet B&B... it’s been years since I been in one ... I would have like to see if they had either in common areas or perhaps in the room single serving coffee/ tea … The week and I was there was a bit on the damn chilly, rainy side even for the summer, but it is Cape Cod after all. Coming back to the hotel with some sweet treats it would’ve been nice to been able to have a cup of tea/ Hot beverage. I think that adds another level of service without being difficult for the staff etc.

The inn was once a farmhouse and a captain's home, and that feeling is very beautifully retained. Gleaming hardwood floors, pieces of furniture and other items -- such as the Victrola in the front room and an ancient manual typewriter in a passageway -- in keeping with that history, a working fireplace, comfortable chairs and couches scattered about, and guest rooms that are each unique in size, shape, and furnishings: so much thought has been put into making this a special experience. Plus homemade scones and breads, coffee and cookies available during the day, a note left on a newly made-up bed, and cheerful, helpful, and knowledgeable staff. The makings of s'mores for guests who want to use the backyard fire pit, well-kept lawns, easy parking, even baby bunnies! You'll want to stay all summer.

This was not indicated on my reservation, nor communicated to me in their confirmation phone call. I had to pass the top of the main stairway to get to it. No robe in the room was offered. :(

Horrible experience. Took my family for a quick two night getaway in cape cod and thought this B&B would be perfect. My wife and I have a 9 month old and as far as 9 month olds go, she is very well behaved. So this site advertises as a \"family friendly\" and \"children welcome\" hotel as you can clearly see from the description right on this page. However it is far from. We checked in without issue and the man checking us in was very friendly and asked if we needed a crib but we did not because we brought our own. We come down for the continental all carb breakfast they offer and as I go to put milk into my morning coffee the woman who is now tending to the hotel rudely and bluntly states \"We don't allow babies. Do you need help in finding somewhere else to stay tonight?\" How kind of her to offer assistance in finding another hotel. She said that it is clearly stated that young children are not allowed at the hotel. I recalled looking over the description for the hotel carefully but not wanting to argue with the keeper of a hotel that is so rude and does not want us there, I told her that I must have overlooked the detail because despite looking over every rule and description of the property I must have missed where it said that. She said that the Inn sends out a letter in an email that needs no confirmation of receipt, to everyone that has already booked and paid on Expedia. An email that ended up in my junk folder mind you. Not a children or family hotel. All families beware.

We had a wonderful experience at Inn at the Oaks. Our stay felt more like sleeping over at an old friend's house than it did being at a hotel. The hotel is remarkably unique - our room was the top floor of a cabin down a red brick path from the main building. The cabin was set off from the road, and surrounded by beautiful greenery, giving it a very peaceful vibe. Each room of the hotel has its own theme and is beautifully decorated. We stayed in the Sail Room, which was cute and super cozy (and very clean). In keeping with the theme of the room, the beds were separated by sails hanging from the ceiling, which we found very charming.

The owners were amazing. It's clear that operating this hotel is a labor of love for them. Thought was given to Every. Single. Detail. about our stay - from the home made dog treats they gave us in the morning, to the delicious home made cookies available in the afternoon, to the home made s'mores package for use at the fire pit in the evening.

Lovely old inn, located in great place and very nice service. Breakfast was simple but quite good. Their scones are superb. Be sure to take into account the fact that for some rooms you need to climb many stairs. Also, our room was not handicapped accessible...big deep tub that needed to be stepped into. Be sure to take your needs into account when reserving.

We had a wonderful time during our stay and the Inn at the Oaks made our first trip to Cape Cod so much more enjoyable.

The house is beautiful, and the staff were personable and very helpful. Also, the location is great—close to a paved bike trail (and a bike rental place) and right across from a museum and entrance to the National Seashore. It is also a quick drive to the Truro Vineyards and Province Town, both worth visiting.

Friendly, comfortable and convenient location

We had a warm welcome and there were always staff about. Cookies and drinks were available to guests (plus chocolate and marshmallows for a fire pit if wanted). Our room was clean and comfortable and the house has real character. It is situated right next to the main road up the cape but set back so not noisy. Very convenient for Cape Cod exploration.

Not as pleasant as our first visit.

Make sure you get a larger room. The Captain room is the best. First room they showed us this stay was a closet and we would have had to leave the room to get to the bathroom. Our second stay was a bit disappointing compared to our first. Would visit again if we got the Captain room.

Restful, comfortable stay.

Lovely, well maintained Inn.
Cookies and tea to greet you upon arrival and good breakfast. Cinnamon scones were yummy! The hosts were delightful, especially Sam, Cam and Aiden. Will definitely go back😀👍

A very nice and historic inn. A TV in the extra room would be nice, as would better furniture, and we had small issues with the TV we had in the bedroom. Still, lots of character, inn staff very helpful and friendly, breakfast tasty and plentiful. Right off Rte 6, which our room looked out on, but still quiet. Walking distance to National Seashore Visitor Center

A lovely, cozy stay in the middle of January

I stayed at the Inn at the Oaks with my daughter and we both loved it. The common areas are very inviting and cozy and the overall impression we had staying there was that this was a generous kind of place. The breakfast was delicious; there was coffee and tea and homebaked cookies all afternoon; and several guest made use of the cozy fireplace in the common area in the cold January evening. The staff was friendly and helpful in a sincere sort of way. We stayed 5 nights in the middle of January and felt very comfortable there.

a Good night's rest.

We went there as a result of an educational program nearby. It is hard to rate the facility since we were up and out before breakfast was available and back after snacks that were offered in the afternoon. We were there in the off season so there was little open in the surrounding community. the staff was very friendly. The B&B was a nicely kept antique home with consistent furnishings throughout. It would probably be a wonderful place to stay in the summer or spring. Easy access to the outer Cape

It was a great stay. The hotel staff were very helpful. The location is perfect since it's in the middle - if you want to go north to Provincetown and then south to Chatham, this can be your hub. The place is very cozy and we had a view of the stars from our room. The house is a bit old tho but this adds to the charm and its well-maintained.
