Everything about this hotel was bad. Yellow towels and linens, shower either scalding hot or cold, bathroom walls were beat up with holes and warped areas, carpets sticky, crumbs all over the table surfaces, tv buffered a lot, pool water was murky and didn’t feel sanitary, place smelled like weed the second we walked in, and we saw local cops come in for an altercation with, what appeared to be locals.

We walked in to find an extremely dirty lobby that smelled terrible. We received our keys looked at our rooms and they smelled and were in the same shape as the lobby. We took our keys back to the desk and walked out. The desk worker was terrible and extremely unprofessional. There is no way this should be ranked 8.2, this is completely false advertising. I wouldn’t send my worst enemy to this hotel.

The ceiling of the room had obvious water stains and damage. The room itself smelled strongly of mildew, and the bed sheets as well. Multiple furniture items had been screwed back together after damage. We asked the front desk for a new room and were denied.

1. First thing we noticed was a big bag of stinky trash in the hallway next to our third-floor room. Mentioned it to the front desk immediately, but it was still there in the morning.
2. Second thing we noticed was no bed cover. Just a cover sheet and very thin quilted blanket, almost like a mattress cover. We asked at the front desk about getting a blanket, but they said they didn't have blankets! We did find one in the dresser drawer a little later, however.
3. Blood stain on one of the pillow cases. Should have been taken out of service.
4. Several small black hairs on the bed when we pulled the cover sheet back.
5. Tried to get a warm shower but couldn't adjust for a good mix of hot and cold water. Water was either very cold or very hot. Small adjustments by tapping the handle one direction or the other didn't work.
6. A/C vent overhead in the dining area was filthy black (mold?) all around it.
7. Desk chair was badly worn.
8. Some kind of sponge or something in the toilet when we arrived. We just flushed it down.

Filthy room. Dead bugs everywhere, dirty stained sheets, outdated and unsanitary. I was moved to a different room that was just as filthy. Yellow stained pillows, dirty sheets, peeling paint, and smell of marijuana filled the entire hotel and room. Staff was really nice but they clearly need to renovate and hire a new cleaning company. Such an uncomfortable stay. Never again.

We went to Walmart at 10:40pm to buy sheets, pillows, and pillowcases because it was too late to find a new hotel. There wasn’t a surface in our room, including the bedding, the inner sheets, and the towels, that wasn’t covered in stains. The hotel is very outdated, but I never mind that in a hotel as long as it feels and looks clean. We were in shock at the stains on the comforter and the towels because it would have been impossible for the staff not to see them.

Very disappointing, initial room was dirty, bathroom not clean, one key card not working. Had to change rooms with a very late arrival which was planned. Second room also not very clean with liquid stains on wall and boxspring, old and stained towels, no cups. Makeup stains on pillow cases and towels. Would not recommend this location .

I actually had to go out and by clorox wipes and sanitize the entire room. Sticky stuff all over the sink and nightstand, splatters inside the lap shade. Almost like someones soda exploded snd no one cleaned it up. The whole room just looked contaminated. Hair in the shower, nasty baseboard corners in the bathroom. Pay the extra money and say at the hotel next door.

Room didn’t even look clean. Dust on everything, rust on all metal throughout the room (not sure how the bedside lamp is rusty; bathroom I can understand). Visible mold in the bathroom all over and clear black mold growing in the garbage can, not sure how hard it would’ve been to just rinse that out but that wasn’t done. 0/10 would not recommend. Only positive is it is right off the freeway as advertised so there was at least that

Never left a hotel before, but we didn’t even get our bags off the cart here. Front desk employee was helpful, the only positive here. Weed smell in all public areas (hall, elevator, etc). Blinds were broken, no curtains. Room was worn down. Cannot comment on WiFi, breakfast, any amenities as we didn’t stay long enough to know. Even at cheap rate, was overpriced.

The “excellent” rating listed on the app is either manipulated or they are getting the ratings from another hotel. The landscaping looks like it hasn’t been cared for in a couple years, the lobby and hallways smell, the rooms look like they haven’t been cleaned, and the towels and sheets look like they were washed with no soap… if they were washed at all! Horrible place.

The floor room felt sticky. The halls smelled of weed and animals. The TV didn't work when we first arrived due to a power/storm issue. The pool was nice. The staff was nice and helpful. The shower water was wither super hot or freezing cold, there was no in between warmth. There was also a light outside of our window that was bright shining through the edges of our window curtain all night long. The area was nice being close to Hyvee for quick needs.

Tub backed up and woukdnt drain. Took 15 minutes to empty after 1 shower and standing ankle deep in water. There is no way it could have been properly cleaned like that. First room reeked of pot. Had to go back to desk to get different room, which the desk person gladly did and apologized. Furniture looked like someone had gotten it after dumpster diving someone else's remodel. Definitelt not up to the Baymont standard.

There are no USB plugs in the rooms - a miss. Your front desk staff was very friendly. Erik in particular - he went above and beyond in trying to find my meds I thought I had left there. Took the mobile to my room, checked the housekeeping carts and then took my contact info in the event they did show up. Very helpful - 10 stars - no notes !

The fruit was limited to apples. But overall, it was a normal continental breakfast.
The staff was very attentive and responded to my need for an extra blanket and coffee without question. Very nice people. It is an older hotel, but very clean. The pool was down for maintenance, unfortunately, but it looked very inviting.

Room was very dirty. When you wiped up splattered water around the sink countertop with one of the towels the dirt on the towel was unbelievable. They must have given us one of the pet rooms because there was dog hair EVERYWHERE, the floor was covered, you could see it on the box springs, in the cabinet drawers. The website hipped up how great the buffet breakfast was, which was not good at all for what I was expecting. I personally will never stay at a Baymont by Wyndham again, for sure not the one in Galesburg IL!

After check in, as my son rolled the bedding down we discovered a dead bug under the top sheet. Not a bed bug. When i called the front desk no apology and an annoyed “Do you want to change rooms”. Moved to a new room-both rooms were dirty and the hotel is in need of many repairs and updating.
On check out no acknowledgment of the bug issue or apology.
Not recommended. I have uploaded a pic of the bug.

There’s a bare bones reply for a review: the bed mattress was quality. It helped me sleep. The heat/air conditioner was not obnoxious. To me, that’s all you really need in a place to stay the night when you don’t want to fall asleep on the road. Most hotels/motels don’t get this right. Baymont did get it right.

Pluses: The room was clean, the bed was relatively comfortable, it was quiet, and the heat functioned well. The shower worked fine and there was plenty of hot water. The breakfast was decent as well.

Needs work: The pillowcases were not very clean looking--they looked stained. The water for the tea at the breakfast bar was not hot at all--it needed to be heated up in the microwave.

It's a two star hotel and I'd say it's a solid two plus hotel. Not great, but worth the money as long as you know what you're getting.

Check-in was great. Staff was very helpful. The room was okay. The carpet was odd, just loose on the ends and flared up against the wall, like it wasnt cut after installation. When I arrived I was told I didn’t have a reservation. When I brought up my confirmation number on my phone (I had already paid online) they said I was already checked in. They had given my paid for room to someone with the same last name. The person at the desk was very rude and did not apologize. She acted like the mix up was my fault. In the end they did get me a room and the rest of my stay was ok.

Our first room initially appeared clean until we opened the curtains and found over a dozen dead bugs on the window ledge. It was after I sat down on the bed and looked up that I noticed several dozen bugs on the ceiling. There was no toilet paper in the bathroom at all, and we had a very hard time finding any staff anywhere to address any situation. When we did, they eventually did move our room and the second room was fine. We’ve been staying at this hotel for the past four years as our son goes to the local college however it has severely gone down in both condition and service. We had several reservations booked over the next few months, but I’ve canceled them all and we will be staying at other hotels.

Everything was fine until packing to leave. The door to the adjoining room (which was not part of our party) came open when we opened the hallway door. We tried to lock it but it would not lock. I reported the problem and the manager immediately came up with us to the room. He could not get it locked either, was very apologetic and professional. Could not adjust the cost of our room as it was paid thru Expedia. We were very impressed with his desire and attempt to satisfy our concerns.

This hotel needs a deep clean. The carpet was disgusting, the sink sprayed out water in every direction but down. The water had a funky odor. One day there was no hot water. We were so grossed out by the bathroom, we didn't even take a shower. The housekeeper knocked at 8:30am for room cleaning, and we asked her to come back. She never did. We had left our dirty towels on the floor, so they were still there when we got back. They were people randomly walking around the parking lot making us feel uneasy about both our car in the lot and our first floor room adjacent to the parking lot. The sofa in the room was so dirty, grimy, I wouldn't even sit on it to put on my shoes. The bed had a thin blanket on it and four small (square shape) pillows on it. The mattress was hard and uncomfortable. It was Homecoming and Family weekend at Knox, so the the two night stay totalled nearly $800 with the inflated room rates. Unbelievable for how filthy and uncomfortable the room was.
