The stay was good only thing that was bad was the power being off
Bobby
Had only 1 towel no wash clothes and no pillow casses on the pillows. The chair in the room felt like it was gonna fall apart
Lucas
Very respectful helped with anything I had questions about
Heather
They have improved so much over the past several years. We stopped staying there about 5 years ago. I am very happy we tried them again. It’s a nice place, the building is older so it has extra character. We will stay there again
Dwight John
none of the pictures on this site is real or accurate. they are air brush or straight up a different hotel!
room was dirty, hair in the fridge, sheets dirty, the bathroom had goo coming out the walls, ripped carpet and the windows would not lock, not safe at all. we cancelled our and left!

Bathroom has black mold juice machine is broken kids running all hours of the night and day breakfast was not good windows was nasty at the pool area toilets barley flushed
Clara
They did not have the hot tub or guest laundry. If you needed sheets or towels you was told you already used what they can give. The owner was very rude.
Kellyn
Overnight employee was a prick, no towels or tp in our room, didn't open pool in the morning, hot tub still busted
Julian
Room was basic, but clean and well maintained.
Dale

Door lock was tampered with, they used electrical tape to\" fix it\"
Eddie
It was absolutely disgusting and our room smelled like cigarettes and the bed sheets were stained with bodily fluids there was also stains on the wall and an expired yogurt in the fridge as well as hair on the pillows. Not to mention how they don’t want to give me my refund when i immediately checked out after less then an hour after seeing the conditions the hotel room was in.
Ken
Beds comfortable. Bathroom clean and new.
Pool and hot tub in good shape. Both could have been warmer/hotter for my preference.
Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was good.
I recommend this place for a reasonably priced stay and friendly service.

We had 2 bath towels for 4 people. We used the pool, no towels available. Hot tub when running smelled worse than the Mississippi river.
LaVonne
Hallways are rough but room was okay. Only issue was, I reserved a two queen bed room got there and they told me they only had a king bed room.
Julie
Our room and a hole in the carpet and the chair in our room needed to be replaced. Staff was nice. Didn't try the breakfast or use the hot tub or pool. Place needs some updates.
Kris
Considering the cost I wasn’t expecting anything fancy but it was at least clean and had no issues. The breakfast was nice compared to a lot of places they actually had something hot not just dry food.
Malinda
Breakfast was good, staff were super friendly. Our room was ok. The shower didnt drain, broken off parts from the bathroom sink lying on the floor and found out must have been from that drain because it did not work either. Sketchy people in and out after hours diirs were not shut all the way. Smelled strongly of weed and cigarettes when we came in. Had to spray perfume in our room to try to cover it up. Went to open the window to air it out and no screen or lock on the widow. There was a board lyning in there that was used to shove in as a lock. We to pool for a bit and the side door by the hottub was cracked open and a man was sitting out there drinking.
Linda
Nice room
Leticia
They said the pool was heated...it was freezing! Dirty!
Doors did not lock...anyone could come and go in the building! The smell was awful! One person told us they had cochrochs 8n there room! Will never stay again!!

room was okay. there were 2 outlets that did not work. staff was friendly and helpful. breakfast buffet was disappointing, but I did not pay much for the room, so I guess I got what I paid for.
Keith
Hotel is old and needs updates. The mattress was so old and falling apart. The hot tub was broken. The pool area was in disrepair. Outside there were cases of beer sitting by the door. When people above your room walked sounded like the were going to fall thru.
Leonard
Nice and comfortable
lawrence
breakfast was good

replace office chair in room 236, please
Guy
Room was a family room so we had more than enough room. Only wanted a king bed but got a king room and the comfort of it. Although the place could use some small updating, the price and location of the stay was worth it. Will consider staying here again
Tiffany
Trash under the bed, cockroaches crawling on the top of the door. They did try to move me rooms, then the sink was clogged and the key card lock wasn’t secure. It would turn red with the key card, but still unlock the door. Took pictures and video.
Kelsey
Pee drops on the toilet when we got to the room. There was coffee cup lids, but no cups or coffee maker in the room. Room smelled bad like cigarettes. Shower curtain had mold on it.
Jeff
Overall good place to stay
Emmaeri
Place is a dump!
Shawn
Staff was great, very friendly and helpful. He stayed busy working constantly. Kept coffee brewing at all times. The beds were comfy. Only thing was we got a smoking room and that area needed to be aired out. Was to shut up.
Amber
Pictures to hotel were showing nice updated rooms, which is not true.
Worst breakfast selection I have ever seen before. Hard biscuits with over cooked gravy, and small donut gems.
Beds are uncomfortable, and pillows were lacking all the way around(small and flat)
The only positive was the showers were nice and hot.

Rebecca
The staff was friendly and tried to be helpful, but the first room they put me in had a backed up sink with brown bits floating around it it. The second room they put me in had lights that didn’t work and a toilet that made a high pitched squeal every time it was flushed. The pool was dirty and the hot tub had obviously not worked in quite a while. The place was just run down and not well maintained. This place was without a doubt one of the worst at which I ever stayed.

Good staff

👍
Mark
It was okay for one night.
Donald
Just there for work
Tammy
Won’t stay here again!
Unfortunately this was a very unpleasant room. The toilet was disgusting, inside and out. Dirty pillows and floor. The shower water pressure was very low, making it very hard to wash our hair. Unfortunately, pictures don’t do it justice!
Clara
I was disappointed to find the hot tub out of order.
James
No thanks
martin
Worn carpet and other finishes

Stayed in the suite for two weeks, and each week got sick. Inspected the bed one afternoon and there was black specks all over the side of my bed where the air conditioner directly blower. Went to brush it off and it smeared. BLACK MOLD it what it looked like.

Stay was nice. Room was clean. A good free breakfast in the morning. Staff was friendly.

Needs maintenance
The bed was fine, water and AC and electricity worked, indoor pool was nice, breakfast was good. Noted an electric outlet cover was loose, and shower rod was loose and hanging slightly. Rug was sticky. Hot tub was empty and out of order.
Bryon
Room was somewhat comfortable. But it was NOTHING like the pics the location shows. We dealt with 2 different people from the front desk. The 1st was AMAZING & thankfully he's the 1 we dealt with up to our checkout date when we met the 2nd one. The second one was nowhere near as friendly. Website says Hot Tub... That is WRONG! Also, All Vending Machines are OUT OF ORDER! Breakfast area was very limited. Juice machine was OUT OF ORDER. Juices wer supposed to be in a refrigerator. But only Fruit Punch drinks. No OJ or even Apple Juice.

BEDBUG INFESTATION!!! Don’t bother and they won’t refund you if you don’t want to cuddle with their bugs.
Zane
Everything was good, but there was no washcloths in the bathroom.
Christabel
Would definitely recommend
Todd
Nice location, staff was courteous
Brock
Would do in a pinch.
There was no hot tub, the WiFi was hit and miss. The bathroom am had holes in and around the shower, there was a path on the bathroom door from a fist it looked like. The room smelt like smoke/pot. And the pillows were stained, pillow covers were clean but the pillow was stained. Water smelt like mold coming out of the shower.
Errol
Thick jacuzzi was out of order which was the only reason why I booked that hotel. Two of the three vending machines were out of order also
Robert
Room was clean
Carolyn
Place is old and dilapidated. Needs to be refreshed with new updated rooms. But if you need a cheap place to stay...this would be the place.
Verified traveler
A very good go-to place
I always seem to enjoy the people at this place and it was not a letdown this time.
For a couple of nights day, I like being here.

Super 8 is very old. The beds have been the same since they opened it back in the 90's. They need new beds. And the pool can be updated too.
Christina
The pool was not working and that was the only reason we xhose the hotel as we had young children they need to have aomething in the website telling guests if the pool is not working.....
One room we lifted.the toilet seat and there was urine all over the rim..
The other room when we pulled out the hideabed there was confetti all over it..
The tvs only got a couple channels

Has seen it's better days. Carpet and everything now old. No elevator. Stairs ackward. Only waste basket was in bathroom.
maria
Room was a non smoking room and smelled like cigarettes. Shwoer water wouldn't drain properly and it took a while.

Great bargain

Housekeeping
Overall, the room was fine, but the sheets had stains on them and there was a couple pieces of trash under the beds from the previous people, the room smelled musty.
Addison
The best Super 8 I've stayed in in Iowa. Everything in good shape and the front desk was very helpful.

The hot tub was broken. The pool was cold. The front desk people were nice.

It was clean

Looking for a quick place to lay your head? This is a great spot.

Great service!
We came to stay in Ottumwa while my grandma was in Hospice. She had passed the first night of our stay and we had gotten all of the details done early. They allowed us to leave a day early. Because of this, we are now staying again for the Visitation/Funeral.
The only issue we had was our drain was slow. We told the front desk staff and they were quick to fix the issue. Once it was fixed, it worked great!

Staff was very friendly and helpful, pool and hot tub area are definitely a big plus. Will stay here again for sure.
Katrina
The bed sheets and shower curtain where staind. There was a straw wrapper stuck to one of the pictures in the room. The blanket on our bed had a cigarette burn in it and the whole room smelt like pee. There were ants in the breakfast room. This was the first time our stay was this dirty. Hopefully next we visit it will be better, if not we will find a different hotel to stay at for our visits.
Christina
Last minute need, stay was fine.
Kevin
It sucked my wife and I were celebrating our anniversary we wanted to enjoy the hot tub but it didn’t work the ice mechine didn’t worry no extra paper in the bathroom it sucked we were very unhappy with the hotel
Adriana
I have been renting at this hotel for more than a week and I had never asked for my room to be cleaned and yesterday when I went to check in early at 8am and asked them to please clean it, the man told me that they were very busy, when I arrived at 3 in the morning afternoon they never came by my room they never cleaned it, however all the ones that are vacating could clean it but mine is not ridiculous what they did apart from at 9 in the morning we had to run because the alarm went off in the morning we were able to sleep afterwards , very disenchanted
Verified traveler
It was very terrifying... there wqs also windows
Katrina
Our stay was good. My only complaint would be there was food or something stuck to one of the hotel blankets. Other than that our stay was as good as normal.

Breakfast was ok

Check in was quick. Joe was friendly to work with. Ice machine was not working but the front desk had been making small bags of ice to hand out as needed. 👍👍

Yearly summer trip to visit family
We stay at this hotel every summer when we visit family. We love the pool and hot tub!! They are serving breakfast again and we were very happy to see that. Looking forward to next years stay!

BED BUGS
DO NOT STAY HERE, BED BUGS! i was in town for work and I got a room for one night. I woke up at 4 am with bites all over my arms, so I got up and shined my flashlight and 4 BIG BED BUGS were crawling on my pillows I took video and pictures for proof as well staff didn’t seem too worried about it though I was able to get a refund. DO NOT STAY

Excellent beds, very comfortable. Building was older, but good enough for a short stay. Breakfast was typical.

It was an ok stay. The phone didn’t work right, the remote to the tv didn’t work right, and our fire alarm in the room went off in the middle of the night and the manager said it didn’t have a battery in it. The pool was way too cold to swim in so that was a huge disappointment! Breakfast options were limited, but overall it was ok.
Jessica
Room was perfect! It's hard to find a decent hotel room for a family of 5. Room was clean, but not nearly enough towels and wash cloths. Pool was cold, unfortunately. Kids enjoyed it for a little while, but all i could do was hop in and get right back out! At least there was a hot tub!
Caiti
Great pool!
The outside of the hotel gets you a bit worried at first, but once you get inside it’s fine! The pool is awesome! The only complain I have is the cleanliness. Our bathroom floor in the room had dried pee and dirt all over it. Other than that, pretty decent place to stay!
Jeanie
