The staff are very good, giving advice and communicating at a good level. The bedroom is big and comfortable, but cleaning is not much, maybe because the staff do not dare to touch the customers. There is a shuttle bus service to the airport, to the exhibition building, and help when I have a problem with losing my phone on the taxi and helping to coordinate very well. Full 10, I give 100. The only downside is that this area is very far from the subway, making travel not very convenient.

Dear Sofitel Shanghai Hongqiao Management Team,

I am writing to express my disappointment with the experience during my recent stay at your hotel. Unfortunately, the level of service and room maintenance fell far below the standards I have come to expect from the Sofitel brand.

During my stay:
•There was no safe provided in the room.
•Tea cups were not replaced or cleaned daily.
•Bedsheets were not changed, even after several days.
•The staff attitude was unhelpful and unprofessional, and overall service quality was very poor.

These issues made my stay quite uncomfortable and left a very negative impression. I chose Sofitel because of its reputation for high standards in hospitality and guest care, but this experience was extremely disappointing.

I hope you will take this feedback seriously and address these issues with your housekeeping and service teams. I would also appreciate an explanation and any gesture of goodwill for the inconvenience caused.

Beautiful, Well-Managed Hotel with Solid Service

A very good experience at the Sofitel Hongqiao. The staff were kind and made a noticeable effort to be helpful, which I valued. This positive atmosphere is a clear reflection of good management and training.

The restaurant is a disaster! no dinner served, at the bar we had to wait almost 2 hr for a Burger.
The hotel is very good, breakfast is also good, but is amazing that there is no proper restaurant working in this hotel.
Another point is that there is almost NO staff speaking English.

If i could i would attach picture's to justify my review. Ordered a beef burger when I arrived, inside was raw. Told the staff they said they can bring new i refused as it made me feel disgusted eating raw meat. Had food poisoning, went to the hospital the hotel staff did not care they said \"sorry im just a worker\" as quoted by the manager. No apology No care. This hotel is not 5 star worthy.

terrible service. We waited an hour for our meal to find out there was no cook in the hotel to prepare the meal! They did not have the respect and decency to inform us. Manager kept saying they were just too busy.
Not the first time situation of bad service happen to me at Sofitel hotels. This chain is definitely banned from myself and our company staff.

Very bad service standard for Sofitel Hong Qiao

I was there for business conference from 20 to 25 Nov, regretted choosing Sofitel instead of Intercontinental. At breakfast, service staffs at noodle and coffee station were extremely rude and not willing to serve..a bad way to start the day. On our way back home, we took their airport transfer from hotel to Pudong international airport in 25/Nov 1020am. The driver was half a time dosing off and we had to wake him up many times to ensure our safety as he almost collided a few times into other vehicles. By doing so, the transfer driver showed us his unhappy attitude and argued with us. Upon arrival at the airport, he just dumped our luggage's onto the ground.

Stunning Hotel more Chandeliers than you can poke a stick at. After 18 hours of travel it was a delight to sleep in the extremely comfortable bed.
I left a phone charger in my room and Tender had it sent to my next hotel the same day I checked out .
Only downside was slow check-in took ages to find my reservation and complete the procedure .

everything was good. one day there was no hot water, but they fixed and sent some treats to apologize. I had a weird experience at the spa, i was way over billed. but i couldn't argue because of a language barrier. Restaurants are great and the staff is great.

The customer service was excellent! In particular, in the restaurant! The level of customer service and attentiveness is better than some fine dinning places i have been.
The hotel is beautiful and certainly highly recommended if your meetings are mainly in the HongQiao area as it is located next to the HongQiao airport and opposite the exhibition center. Ideal location for those in transit or visiting Shanghai for the upcoming exhibition.

Sofitel is conviniently located near hongqiao airport which was the main reason for me to stay there. I arrived at the hotel around 1.30am due to a delayed flight, the receptionist who accommodated me was so sweat and considerate, not only he checked me in very quickly, but also upgraded my room after he learned that I need to catch up an early flight in the morning. I stayed in the hotel for three days, the entire facility is always spotless and the service is impeccable. I will definitely come back and stay at Sofitel if I am in Shanghai again.

One of my favorite hotels in Shanghai. The hotel is new and the rooms are modern, quite and comfortable. It is very close to the Hongqiao staion and airport as well as a number of shopping malls. Not a hotel if you want to be in downtown or near Pudong International Airport.

The room was very spacious. The overall hardware of the hotel is brilliant but some of the small details are neglected. For example the hot tub had the hot and cold water the other way around (the one that is labeled H had cold water, vice versa).

The ceiling was very high so the room felt even more spacious. Staff was really nice!

I had to find a hotel during my flight to China due to the delays in takeoff. I booked it since it's not far from the train station. The hotel turned out to be amazing. The front desk staff were wonderful and accommodating, and the room was super clean and spacious. It was one of the nicest hotels I ever stayed at. It'll be my go-to place for my overnight stay in Shanghai. The only thing I wish the room could have is a hot water boiler / coffee maker. Thank you!!!

Everything went well. The only negative surprise is the hotel's close proximity to the airport and train station (about 3 km) which caused a lot of the taxi drivers' refusal to take you to the hotel because the taxi fare is small. Yet walking is not really an option especially when you're new to the area.

Hotel is less than one year old. The staff was generally very helpful. Concierge was also very helpful. The two worst parts of my stay were the food at the hotel and the location of the hotel. Worst culinary experience I have ever had at a hotel in China. Every piece of food I put in my mouth was either cold or burned. Way overpriced too. Don't expect a single western type restaurant within a 30 minute cab ride if you visit this property. Local cuisine only. I only chose this hotel due to its proximity the the CIFF convention. Expect a two hour taxi ride to get back and forth to Pudong International Airport.

Settled in here for a week of business in Shanghai. The hotel was very clean and the air conditioning was cool all day; unlike many other hotels in China. The breakfast buffet had plenty of choices ranging from European, American and Chinese selections, but was a bit pricey. Some taxi drivers had difficulty finding the hotel and we found it best to advise them of the street name for the location.

The facility inside the room is horrible, from broken power points to the lack of shower curtain. It is also hard to get around despite its close proximity to the airport and the national exhibition centre. Why? No taxi driver will go there and for the ones do, they charge twice as much. No shuttle bus service either.

Great place to stay near Hongqiao Airport in Shanghai. Would have been awesomeif the hotel offered a shuttle bus to guests. However, the taxi ride takes no more than 10-15 minutes and costs a mere 20-25 RMB. The rooms I was offered was nice and spacious. However, the King size mattress was a bit uncomfortable for being worn out around the sides and needed to be replaced or turned upside down!!
Would have been nice to see a an iron and ironing board in the room as sometime a traveller just doesn't have enough time to wait for the clothes to be pressed, especially realizing it at the last minute. Breakfast is classy with huge variety and can satisfy all tastebuds.

One word of advice though for guests. The hotel did end up charging more money than the rate offered by Expedia. No harm in keeping an eye and asking questions at the time of checkin for avoiding any surprises. Overall experience , however, was excellent.
A very well equipped fitness centre was an icing on the cake. Will definitely comeback to this hotel based on the recent experience.
