Loved the environment and look of both the ryokab and town. We got to try all 3 onsens and enjoy each. Staff was extremely friendly, food was delicious and worth the value, and or stay was comfortable.

This was the best stay on our 14 days in Japan! The hospitality was above and beyond our expectations. Truely five stars! Manager Mr. Mamiya Haruhi and his staff welcomed us and attended to our every needs, again above and beyond our expectations. Food and service were of highest quality. The hot springs were relaxing. Although steep, the area around this traditional Japanese hotel was very walkable. We only wish we had stay more than one night.

Two in-hotel hot tubs were small but clean. Rooms were also comfortable. Staff was helpful during check in but what struck me most was when we were leaving two employees came out and bowed to us. Really surprised me even after multiple trips to Japan. Would live again if I ever find myself in Arima Onsen again :)

Beautiful well kept wooden building, very quaint and private onsens, two of them, is awesome and it melts all the aches away. Dinner is 8 courses, carefully prepared n well executed, and tasted delicious too! Breakfast is equally good. Will come back.

Why I choose this hotel!

The world best hotel(Ryokan) in the world!! To me this place is special!! I do not want this place will more famous than now cause I need to reserve XD. Also this place have everything! Best food, room quality( classic but modernized) , private Onsen, most of important point is kindness!! This is what I expect from Ryokan and japan!!! Wonderful...I highly recommend come this place at least once !! BTS this is my fourth time visiting here XD

상당히 만족스러웠다

작은 옛날 목조건물에 작은 온천탕 2개. 조용하고 관리가 잘 되어 있었고, 온천탕이 2개 밖에 없어서 온천욕을 자주 하지 못할까봐 걱정했는데 원할하게 돌아가 원하는 만큼 온천욕을 즐길 수 있었다. 저녁식사는 아기자기하고 예쁘고 맛있었다. 직원들은 친절하고 잘 도와주었다.

It was a wonderful one-night stay, including both dinner and breakfast. The dining experience was perfect, with authentic Japanese food and excellent service. The private hot spring at the hotel was fantastic, and the public hot spring at 'Tosen Kosyobo' was also a delightful experience.

I look forward to visiting Hanakoyado again very soon.

Overall, only stayed here for a night and actually booked it thinking it was a ryokan, but it was just a hotel. Got a half board and the dinner was pretty great, honestly on tier if not as tasty as my ryokan half board from the night before. Breakfast the next day was kind of a miss, but dinner was solid and the private onsen was a nice and relaxing experience, especially since the water is from the local hot springs! Also luggage forwarded for the first time this trip and I am currently in Osaka and got my luggage so that was successful! Staff were very kind and although one of the guys (in glasses, super nice but forgot his name) didn’t always understand me, translation apps made it pretty simple. Would recommend - especially for the price - in contrast to my ryokan which felt the same as here but for $120 more a night.

It's our first time at an onsen ryokan, and overall it was a very pleasant stay! The receptionist that greeted us spoke English well and was very clear at explaining the facilities and answering any questions we had. She asked clarifying questions about our food preference so that adjustments can be made to the meals. My friend doesn't eat any raw food, we both don't eat spicy, and they made note of that. The Kaiseki ryori dinner was delicious. I mentioned I liked sashimi and I'm ok with raw food, so I got sashimi while they served cooked fish to my friend. I also got onsen tamago and they made egg rolls for my friend. The private onsen looks a bit old and it was a bit small (it's just the right size for 2 people in each tub), but you do get to try both the Kin no yu and Gin no yu as they have two tubs in there, so it's a nice experience for people who are not comfortable in public onsen setting. You could also go to the public onsen at their main branch before 10pm. We requested for a room on the upper floor, and it's nice and quiet. We had a good rest. The window view faces other buildings. The upper floor is only accessible by stairs though so people with mobility issues should request for lower floor.

I would recommend this ryokan to people who are new to the onsen experience! Unfortunately it was too windy so we couldn't ride the Rokko-Arima Ropeway on this trip...

Le gros plus étant les bains privatifs, qui sont vraiment très agréable avec la vraie source.
L'hôtel est charmant, quoique un peu vieillot. D'ailleurs on avait très peu de wifi dans notre chambre.
Sinon le personnel est vraiment efficace et agréable.

I traveled eleven Japan Ryokan for three weeks from Hokkaido to Kagoshima. Hanakoyado hotel in Arima onsen was the worst one.
Please, don't expect anything good.

Hotel has a great outlook lots of teak wood panel and floor ,furniture are antique looking
While open air onsen is top in my priority I was told that the onsen in the sister hotel is under maintenance and was given a coupon to use the public bath. The hotel should have informed their guest at the time of reservationn not at check in,in spite the fact that I always make it a habit of contacting the hotel after making reservation. This to me is cheating.
Dinner time was allotted by the hotel explaining the other time are all full.again I have never been given a chance to choose my dining time. Mind you I am the first lot who check in.
The room looks ok except the only amenity given is a toothbrush , no drinking water unless you request.two nespresso capsules were given,the third you have to pay.the safe is on the floor and to set the code you really have to kneel down and and not a easy task.
The terrible part is the air conditioner did not work.it so warm and hot with over 3O degree outside ,it ease off a bit in the evening, the rattleing sound from the air cond made sleeping impossible.
Meals was ok but I have seen much better menu in other ryokan, No menu was given and possibly due to difficulty in language was never told or explained what is in the menu .they just laid down the food in front of you and leave. I was given a leaflet on menu of the month when asked.
On check out I was asked to show the receipt, something that has never happened in the past booking with Expedia

Old meets new - great getaway

My mom, my husband and I stayed at their suite on Monday after the Golden Week. It was quiet, spacious and clean. Large (per Japanese standard) living room is located between (2) bedrooms so there was plenty of privacy for mom and husband. Friendly staff, private bath, it was perfect for our getaway. There is no room service available, so if you are looking for Inn or Hotel with full service, you may want to check elsewhere.

Fantastic experience

The whole experience is fantastic. Furnishings look old but is well maintained, very clean and have the taste of the antique. Staff is really nice! We preordered the kaiseiki dinner at the hotel which is highly recommended. The rooms are spacious and the private baths in the hotel is so convenient for travellers who would like to indulge in life's pleasure with hot spring!

This hotel is clean. Staff are friendly and helpful. I appreciate that the hotel sent me an email few days before my arrival. The email provided me with info. My room is spacious. The rooms for hot spring bath are very roomy. The hotel has connection with another hot spring bath venue which is not far away. This venue is also very nice.

It's really a nice stay at Hotel Hanakoyado, a very well traditional Japanese style accommodation. Food, customer service and location are great in all. Hot spring is somehow a bit small by comparing with others but it’s good enough for small family. If you look for something different from package, don't miss Hanakoyado. Highly recommended.

Amazing and magical

After staying down the hill in Kobe for a week, Arima was a magical retreat. The hotel has multiple private bathing rooms, each with two tubs, different waters in each tub, and traditional onsen squat showers.

The rooms were reasonably sized with somewhat hard but comfortable beds. A very Japanese experience.

“만약 당신의 일본여행이 인생에 한번뿐인 일본 여행이며 오사카를 갈것이며 료칸을 체험할것이다”라고 한다면 추천할 만한 곳입니다.
하지만 그 외의 경우라면 후쿠오카 특히 “구로카와 온천마을”을 더 추천한다. 온천의 수가 매우 적으며 가이세키의 구성또한 구로카와의 온천들에 비해 만족스럽지 못했다. 환기 없이 보여주는 연기 자욱한 식당에서의 퍼포먼스는 감동보다 불편함이 매우 컸습니다.
동일한 가격대의 료칸이라면 후쿠오카 료칸에 비해 오사카가 가깝다! 라는 점 하나를 제외하면 큰 메리트가 없을것이다.

傳統木制建築，房間很美，那日式玻璃窗和陽台美極了。
房内很乾淨，獨立廁所，床很舒服，提供浴衣和草鞋，穿上去行溫泉街，感覺非常棒的經歷。
有2個獨立溫泉很棒！早晚餐是傳統日式早餐，氣氛極好。
職員非常友善，我們忘了拿充電插頭，職員幫忙速遞到下一間酒店，感謝！

宿は、おもむきはありますが、古いです。近隣の系列ホテルでの大浴場の半混浴について事前には何も説明もなかったり、浴衣がかなり古かったりなどなど、サービスはさほど良いとは言えないかもしれません。ただ、食事は満足のいくものでした。

有私人溫泉房的好選擇

非常滿意的一次住宿！入住時，職員會介紹房間和酒店內所有的設施，雖然他的英文不太好，但我們能感受到他的熱情款待。酒店內有兩間私人溫泉房，只要沒有人使用時就可自行入內使用，其中一間應該可以供輪椅人士使用。職員說可以免費到另一間酒店泡湯，但我們沒有前往。

在入住一星期前，酒店貼心地詢問我們有沒有食物敏感，由於我的朋友不能吃魚，酒店便特別準備了豬肉作為他的早餐，非常貼心！

另外，由於房間比較古舊，能聽到上層住客走路的聲音，但這也是這間酒店有趣的地方吧。非常推薦給大家^_^

아리마에 6번 방문, 이곳에 3번째 묵었습니다. 전과 다름없이 깨끗하고 쾌적하고 운치 있는 방이어서 좋습니다. 나무바닥이라 느낌도 좋고요. 혼자 쓸 수 있는 온천탕이 가장 마음에 듭니다. 살짝 몸살기가 있었는데 이곳의 온천욕으로 다 나아서 체크아웃했습니다.
음식은... 예쁘고 맛있습니다. very good입니다. 대신, 가이세키를 시키셨다면 그 전에 주전부리는 하지 마세요. 마지막 코스까지 가기 어렵습니다.(그래도 맛은 최고임)
직원들의 예의도 일품이고, 집같은 편안함이 있습니다. 다음에 일본에 오면 또 올 겁니다.

食事は夕食、朝食とも美味しく戴けました。お風呂も2種類あって良かったです。従業員の方も親切丁寧な対応で安心して利用できる宿だと思います。

スタッフの皆さん親切でこちらのリクエストに真摯に応えていただきありたがったです。建物が古いため音が聞こえることもありますが、事前にそのことを知っていたことと部屋にもアナウンスがあったのでよかったと思います。宿泊者もほかの宿泊者のこと少し気遣うだけでお互い気持ちの良い時間を過ごせるのでそこはそれでよいのだと思います。

ここは最高に良い。

昭和20年に建てられた建物は、古さを感じるよりもオシャレさと綺麗に管理されていると感じました。貸切りのお風呂は良すぎて3度も入るくらい気持ちよかったです。

とても雰囲気のある宿でした。
朝食、夕食も頼みましたが、とても丁寧に作られたお品で、大満足です。
レトロな造りの木造建物なので、隣接するお部屋の物音は多少聞こえますが、雰囲気を楽しめる方にはおすすめです。

とても雰囲気の良い宿

スタッフのおもてなしの気持ちがよく伝わってきました。
部屋や施設・設備の説明も丁寧でとても好印象です。
翌朝の出発がまだ暗いうちの早朝だったので、いろいろと融通をきかせてくださってとても助かりました。
私たちも早朝に物音を立ててしまったはずなのでお互い様かもしれませんが、夜中遅くまで頻繁に歩く音が聞こえたのが残念な点です。
木造の古い建物ならではの欠点とも言えるので解決は難しいかも知れませんが、改良されると良いですね。
食事は、目の前の『おくどさん』で調理される様子を見ながら食べられ、全体的に斬新な印象です。
お風呂は貸切風呂が２つあり、シャンプー、コンディショナー、ボディソープが風呂場に備わっていました。
脱衣所には洗顔料と他に何か二種類置いてありました。(たぶん化粧水とミルクだと思いますが未確認です)
ドライヤーは貸切風呂の脱衣所だけでなく部屋にも備わっておりました。

駐車場は宿から離れてさらに進んだ先にあり、係員が宿までの車を手配してくれます。車高の低いスポーツカーだと辛いかもしれません。

この花小宿の他にも系列の宿があるそうなので、今後もまた利用させていただくつもりです。

宿泊者のマナー

１０／１６（土）一泊で宿泊しました。
スタッフの対応も良く、設備も問題がありませんでした。
夕食は目の前の釜めしのくつろぎ家さんで頂きました。
帰りに親宿の大浴場に入りに行って帰ってきました。
１Fのコーヒーサーバーの前の部屋になりましたが、トイレと部屋の一部に明かり窓の薄い硝子が入った仕切りで廊下と隔てられていますので、サーバーや製氷機の音や話し声が漏れ聞こえてきました。階段をバタバタ上り降りする音、二階の部屋が床がフローリングになっているらしく遅くまで足音が下に響いてきました。
昭和２８年の宿をリノベしており、趣を残していますが
遮音性はありません。これは宿泊者のモラルに架かるところです。せっかく子供がいなく静かに過ごせても、大人のマナーがなっていないとせっかくの雰囲気が台無しです。宿の施設、スタッフは１００％ですが宿泊者のマナーは６０点以下の赤点です。これから利用される方々が他社に配慮した使用をしないとこの様な宿は失われてしまいます。スタッフは宿泊者に対して意見は言えませんので私が言わせてもらいます。
是非他者への配慮した利用をお願いいたします。
そうすれば宿泊者のレベルも上がります。
朝食も万点でした。一つできればナプキンか半紙で作ったマスクケースがあればよいと思います。都内の老舗の料理屋さんには必ず置かれています。食事中マスクの置き場には困りますよね。
お風呂も個人の協同風呂ですので皆さん使い終わった桶は元に戻し、洗面所はきれいに拭いて次の人が気持ちよく利用できるようにすべきです。
花小宿ですから、皆さんで育ててあげてください。

若女将さんに惹かれます！

レトロで新しい旅館。何よりもスタッフが素敵。若女将さんとはずっと一緒に話していたいとおもったし、他の方もあたたかった。朝食も美味しく、味噌汁は絶品。心地よかったし、また、行きたいです。感謝です。

満足でした。

過剰なもてなしではなく、控えめでそっと見守るようなもてなしが新鮮でした。
飼っているわけではないけれど、看板猫のようなジャネットは猫好きにはたまりませんでした。
少し集めの温泉もとても気持ち良かったです。
姉妹宿の御所坊の温泉に入れるのも良かったです。

ロフストランド使用の下肢障害者です。少しずつ外泊を始めております。宿内のバリアフリーはこれまでの宿泊のなかで最も整備されてました。古民家の趣溢れる宿の仕様はそのままに、玄関框のリフトや車椅子のまま入室できる温泉場の設備には驚かされました。食事処の様子も宿の拵えそのままの風情で、竈焚きが覗けるカウンターでの食事は焼き物の匂いも香ばしく宿調を演出しております。
