Loved our stay. The staff at Hotel Føroyar are all fantastic. We stayed in the Annex, just across the parking lot from the main building. The Annex rooms were very comfortable and spotlessly clean. There were a couple warmer days when we wished the rooms had air conditioning, but we were able to keep it pretty comfortable by just opening the glass door. Having their own parking lot makes parking a breeze, and it's only a short drive from downtown. We spent most of our time exploring various islands around the Faroes, so this was a great home base for us. The daily breakfast was very good, and the views from the restaurant are incredible. Great bar in the lobby, too!

The hotel is on the outskirts of the city so it's not the most centralized location. If you have a rental car, then it is no problem. The hotel is nicely decorated and very friendly staff. The studio was large enough for our family of four with a large enough kitchenette to make our own breakfast. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Loved our stay! It was super clean with comfortable beds and a good hot shower. It had AMAZING shampoo, body wash and hand soap! Nespresso pods in the room was a nice touch. Beautiful view of the sea. VERY limited TV. One of the nicest breakfasts we have ever had, with lots of international and Faroese options. Nice walk downhill into town which helped to find nice places to eat and then you burn it all off walking back up. The views alone are worth it.

I recently stayed at Hotel Føroyar, and overall, it was a good experience. The hotel offers stunning views over Tórshavn and the fjords, with comfortable rooms and a peaceful atmosphere. However, the room cleanliness could be improved—I noticed mold in the bathroom, which was disappointing. The breakfast was typical, but the staff, while friendly, were slow, and there were always dirty dishes left on the tables. The location is a bit remote, but the tranquility and beautiful surroundings make it a nice retreat.

The hotel has cozy, modern yet sleek rooms. The breakfast was included in our rate and it had lots of options to choose from. We ate in the casual lobby bar and it was delicious, they offer a more upscale restaurant with a set menu as well though we didn't try it.
It is a hike from town to the hotel, it's doable in the daylight but it does take at least 20 minutes, maybe longer depending where you're coming from.

The hotel is very nice and has a privileged location overlooking the city and the harbour. There is absolutely no point to booking a room in the Annex. No view from any room and a walk across the parking lot to get to the main building. The room is comfortable, but not worth the price.

The hotel has almost every feature that one would desire.

The breakfast buffet was sufficiently diverse.

The checkin was smooth and the room was quite clean.

The area around the hotel was quite beautiful in a rugged way, something that reminds you that you are in Faroe Islands (and that is what you want!)

The hotel has self-operated laundry machines which is a godsend to people on extended travel (though I didn’t end up using even though I had anticipated using them).

The property is a bit dated/historic and it shows in the fixtures, the bathroom, the furniture, etc. For an expensive four star hotel, that should not be the case since the other similarly priced properties where I have stayed in Torshavn, everything felt new and refreshing.

Overall, it was a good stay.

I realise that there are likley difficulties finding staff on the Islands, but often there was no-one on the front desk, no-one serving at the bar, etc. I ordered a airport shuttle and they ended up booking for the wrong day; and the front desk said that there was nowhere that this was written down when I checked on the previous evening. Also due to limited (i.e. no!) front desk staff prior to 7am, it was very diificult to arrange for an alternative service to get to the airport.

We checked in during the covid-19 crisis, so understandably the hotel wasn't running a full breakfast service etc... however; despite all this, the staff were helpful and attentive. The hotel is in a brilliant location and has great views. A very well equipped gym which was good as we had a spell of bad weather which meant we couldn't go on the hikes we wanted. All in all a great place to stay.

We stayed here twice on our visit to the Faroe Islands. The hotel itself is nice and is situated so you can have a wonderful view and also has an impressive guest list on the wall but to us the best part of this hotel was the staff. They were very efficient and extremely helpful with endless local knowledge of the places and people we planning on visiting during our visit. The rooms were comfortable but looking a bit dated, but when all is said and done they had all we needed. We found the in room wifi strong and reliable. We would certainly stay here again.

Hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Hotel located on top of the hill above town so when the sky is clear (rare event for us) you can see the landscape of Torshavn.

We stayed in the Annex building which was a little bit inconvenient as had to walk across the carpark to the main building for breakfast/reception, especially if it was rainy. Prices are generally high in Faroe Islands so can't really say it was value for money but a nice hotel regardless.

Perfect location for hikes in the hills and around the island and a pleasant walk into the town (harder work back to the hotel due to it being very much up the hill). We really liked our get away from our kids. The reseptionist was so friendly. The only thing that could have been better was the breakfast! They were clearly understaffed and tables not getting cleaned. Food was missing and we had to ask for basic thinhg like coffey.

This is a large hotel with great views (when it is not foggy!) which is comfortable but a little soulless. Probably fine for a business trip, although as tourists we wished we had stayed in one of the hotels actually in Torshavn. That said, it was a quiet location. The trek up and down to the town becomes a drag, or another expense if continually using taxis as there is no hotel shuttle; you can catch a bus up part-way but we did not manage to do this at night. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Breakfast is fine, but the well-regarded restaurant that used to be based here has moved and the one in its place was empty at night and quite expensive, although the buffet food was fine; there are better places in town to eat.

We stayed in 2 different rooms. Both were modern and perfectly clean. The first had a limited view, so we switched to a room with a better view (one might say with a spectacular view, except that the view from the restaurant is truly spectacular). The only problem was with the tub drain in one room - when I drained the tub, it backed up all over the bathroom floor. The staff did come and clean it up, which was all they could do at the time. We were able to use the tub thereafter but we had to watch the rate of water draining. We couldn't just yank out the drain plug.

I also liked the grass growing on the roof. It seems common in the Faroes, and it makes the hotel feel more authentically Faroese.

1) When I needed to change the dates of my reservation over 3 months ahead of time (originally booked through hotels.com), the hotel refused to refund me so I essentially paid twice for the stay. It was not worth it. The one bright spot: As a conciliatory gesture, the hotel did offer us a free dinner in the attached restaurant, which was very nice. The chef was fantastic and very friendly. Still not worth the extra $400.

2) Despite the fact that the flight from Copenhagen arrives early in the day, there is no early check in. We waited for several hours exploring Torshavn then checked in to find there was no hot water. It took several hours to fix.

3) Requesting an extra bath towel costs an extra 50 kroner ($7-8) fee. What \"four star hotel\" nickel-and-dimes its guests this way?

4) Twice we were awoken from sleep by a harsh drilling sound which appeared to be coming from the room next to or below us. No explanation or warning was given.

5) Most of the reception staff were rather curt, even antagonistic. Communication with them was bizarrely unpleasant. Perhaps this is the Faroese way? We noticed especially as we had just come from Denmark where everyone we encountered had been very friendly. One young woman broke this mold and was fantastic. She was helpful and was the only staff member we met who seemed to want us to have a good experience.

Sure it's a little pricey but they offer things like free bike rental which ends up saving big costs. The rooms are very quiet and although the hotel lacks a fitness center (which the receptionist says is in the making) this may be the only four-star hotel in the world where you can wake up to beautiful sheep grazing outside your window and you will love that view better than the back of a treadmill! Bathtub is great as is the breakfast. Do not try to hike up here with your luggage from the bus station, you will ruin your luggage and strain your back and I say this as a very hardy traveler. Hotel has a little gift shop and lots of good maps of town. I hope to come back again.
