Ideal place for Faroes visit

Loved our stay here. Not fancy but comfortable and clean. Our “larger room with sea views” had stunning views over the harbor and the city. Great location by the harbor and close to the ferry terminal where the #300 airport bus terminates, along with other buses for island exploration.

A nice hotel located in the heart of Tórshavn. Close to 90% of sights within the city, including Old Town. Rooms are small and the shower drains into a flat surface bathroom, inconvenient. The staff is AMAZING and very polite and helpful.

This place is more like a boarding house than a hotel. Everything’s a DIY. The location is great because it’s right on the harbour and all the sights in Torshavn are close. The tourist information office is close and there are many restaurants nearby.
The people staying in the room above mine must have had a club foot because I could hear every step they make.

Ok but I wouldn’t want to return.

This is a 3 star hotel but not good value. I booked the small single room. The bed was too soft and I needed a second pillow which was promptly provided. Two small bottles of water were provided free.

The bathroom was in fact a wet room because the shower was not enclosed it just a curtain that you pulled round the drain in the bathroom floor which meant the floor of the rest of the bathroom (including the side of the toilet) was wet for most of the day.

Breakfast is included but choices are limited (cereals, yogurt, ham, cheese boiled eggs with bacon alternating with small sausages). Instant Coffee is served from flasks.

There was a bar but it never seemed to be manned and seemed loosely connected with Hvonn the Asian restaurant upstairs which is where breakfast is served.

The hotel is excellently situated and that is the best thing going for it. I wouldn’t stay here again.

The drain pipe outside my window (Room 206) was broken, resulting in a constant drumming noise with water pouring on the roof of the construction next to my window. I couldn't sleep well both nights. There was no one available at reception to complain to.

this hotel is ideally situated within walking distance from the ferry and the information centre. the hotel does not have staff 24 hours a day which has proved a little difficult during the current labour strike. breakfast was good everyday. the hotel was relatively quiet but with the window open, one does hear the surrounding activities. safe area close to the harbour and very attentive and engaging feont desk staff who answered all my questions and helped out where necessary

What I like most is the location of the hotel in the centre of Torshavn. Although the bathroom/shower is small, but everything functions well - no leaking and clean. I received the room number and key code to the room in advanced via email but still I get nervous and anxious when there is nobody to speak to at the registration counter, but this is not a major issue as there is a phone at the counter which automatically connects to a staff who will assist if needed.

Perfect location in downtown Torshavn. The breakfast selection was small (unlike Norway or Iceland's free breakfasts), but there was plenty, and hearty for my needs. The room was a tad small, but for one person and given the need to explore not be stuck in a room, it was very good. For the price, location, and free breakfast, you cannot beat this hotel in Torshavn. The hotel was clean and pleasant for my stay.

Only difficulty we had was with the self checkin service. Because we didn't have internet we were unable to receive the access code for the room. This proved to be really challenging. Thankfully another guest gave us the wifi code so we were able to receive the code. Other than that everything was great.

Great hotle in the centre of the city. Walkable to everything including the bus and ferry terminal about 8 mins. The harbour about 1 min. Grocery stores about 5 mins. The hotel itself is clean and quiet. The breakfast was plentiful with hot and cold choices. It didn't very but was plentiful. The room was an adequate size, space for luggage and to walk around.

Hotel very convient & centrally located on the waterfront close to restaurants. Rooms were comfortable with large windows, ours overlooking harbour. Basic amenities, TV, coffee maker - not lavish. Staff were exceptionally helpful with directions, restaurant suggestions, etc.. Parking can be difficult but staff helped with directions.

A hotel in the perfect location. Great view of the harbour from the room; easy walk to all of downtown. The hotel is a little older and we were told it's due for demolition and rebuilding in the next two years as it is very hard to make the building consistent with renewable energy. Glad to hear the old lift will stay though. Breakfast was pretty good, and we had fun watching some other guests make heaps of sandwiches with an entire loaf meant for everyone.

Very much worth the price

Friendly service, good breakfast and the room was nice. It could be a bit cold in the room though, since it was hard to open the window just slightly and the Faroese weather can be quite windy. I'd say it's rather wasteful to have these tiny shampoo bottles for the guests. Overall I'd say this hotel is good and deserves 4 or 5 stars for it's price.

I wish I had known that the hotel was not staffed before booking. This was a little unnerving coming from another country and not having phone service. The computer check in of course did not work and so I needed to to call to check in on the hotel phone. It all turned out ok but it would have been so much more welcoming and safe if there had been a person there

Really likes Tórshavn and the Faroes. The hotel was central and clean. Really nice. One thing I wasn’t sure about is that it doesn’t have a reception. Everything is done remotely by email. This makes the stay a little impersonal. However, the stay was great and the bed was comfortable.

The location is excellent. And so is the restaurant which is Asian/Thai inspired. But the hotel is way overdue for a complete makeover. An ancient lift, out of date bathrooms, and worn carpets. Our room was very noisy. People partied until 4.00am every night. The beds are clean and comfortable.

Do not know what is a Queen Size bed

Our stay was awful mainly because event hough we got a confirmation saying we will get a Queen Size bed, we were given 2 single beds put next to each other. When I asked the receptionist she insisted they call these 2 single beds together as Queen Size bed. I have travelled to 158 countries and NO WHERE I have heard such a crazy comment.

When I asked my room to be made up, they didn't give me additional toiletries. When I asked for more, I never got it. So I concluded they didn't really pay attention. I don't mind my bedset ans towels didn't get changed for the 3 nights of my stay but at keast give me enough toiletries would be nice.
Breakfast hours is good. Although could do with a little bit more vegetables and fruits :)

Perfect location in Torshavn

We stayed in one of the two business rooms which was enormous: two couch bench area with coffee tables with a view of the harbour, an eating area with a table and four chairs, a queen bed with side tables, and a large bathroom for Faroe Island standards. The only drawback is the club across the street in which bands rehearse until around 10 p.m. on week nights. We cannot make a comment about Friday night to Sunday night. Having said that, we loved the room so much that we did not move to a quieter part of the hotel.

Hotel Torshavn is in a perfect location for restaurants, shopping and visiting the historical sites. The day tour companies pick you up right at the door.

I stayed at the hotel in late March 2019, at the end of the winter season. As the main tourist season had not yet started there were fewer tours on offer by the tour operators in Faroes but the front desk staff, especially Àri (I hope I've spelled that right) went out of their way and made many phone calls on my behalf to try to organise excursions for me.

I had 2 rooms during my stay. The 1st, on the top floor was a little tight but it was what I had requested so no complaints there. On my 2nd stay the room, on the 2nd floor, was fine.

4 nights at this hotel was misery. When we arrived, the service was frosty. The employees don't seem very happy at all. If you're renting a car, you should be aware that there is no parking. The lot outside of the hotel isn't their lot, it's 30 minute parking. You have to drive down the road and park in a public lot. But you can only stay there after 6pm and then move your car before 9am or risk a ticket. Ridiculous. This seems normal to the hotel staff. \"It's easy,\" we were told. Well... not in you're hoping to sleep in the morning because you couldn't go to bed until 5am (more on that soon).

The room was like a shoebox. Tiny and super uncomfortable. Our \"double\" bed was two singles pushed together and someone had to sleep in the crack between beds every night. The shower in the bathroom is not separate, there's just a curtain. Water floods the entire bathroom during a shower. Housekeeping? Nope, not offered. No one cleaned our room during our entire stay.

We stayed over Christmas when all the restaurants are closed. It's nice of the hotel to offer a menu but it was steak and potatoes.That's all. As vegetarians, we had to pass.

Don't come here expecting to sleep. We dealt with three nights of drunk party goers who were yelling, throwing bottles, and shooting (firecrackers? cap guns?) from 11pm to 5am. They convened in the hotel bar downstairs, right under our window. The bar hours say it closes at 2am. Definitely not. We were exhausted during our entire stay.

You can't beat the location right in the heart of Torshavn. The room was decent and very clean. The bathroom left a lot to be desired (very small, no real shower, just a shower head basically ... although it was kinda cool squeegeeing the floor after a shower). The bar next store was a lot of fun and always crowded with a lot of friendly people. The front desk was very helpful with directions and advice on restaurants.

Great location with great view in Torshavn

Hotel Torshavn is nicely located at the harbour front that every Torshavn visitor will walk by. The large sea view room is fantastic that 3 of us just said \"wow!\" once opened the door. This suite partitions into bedding, dining and living areas, you can't stop looking out thru the windows as the harbour just in front of you. The suite is bright and open as there are many windows but the privacy and darkness are still preserved as the curtains have good isolation. We also loved to take the vintage-elevator going up and down. The hotel staff is nice and always happy to assist you.

The hotel could not have been more central to Tórshavn city centre. It was 1 minute walk to the harbour and local amenities with plenty of coffee shops and cafes. The local bus service which is free was located at the end of the road which was a good way to see the neighbourhood. The hotel had a very popular bar and restaurant however there was plenty of other alternatives within a 5 minute walk

Good hotel near Torshavn harbour

Overall this is a good hotel. It is located near the harbour and also within walking distance of the bus and ferry terminal, from which you can explore the rest of the Faroe Islands. Service was good and breakfast was delicious. The hotel is a little old, and the carpets could use replacing, but honestly this didn't bother me too much as I didn't spend much time in my room anyway. The room itself was small but adequate for my needs. All in all, I had a pleasant stay.

Maybe unlucky, but too many errors

1. Staff directed me to an overnight parking lot saying it was free. It wasn't. (Anyone using a rental car in Faroes should learn about the clock in the windshield)
2. First night had the worst view ever for a hotel room. Giant black pipes. I demanded to switch rooms the next night.
3. Only a shower curtain separates the showers from the bathroom. Very old school. Bathroom floor gets soaked.
4. Fire alarm went off when I needed to check out to the airport. Chaotic scene. That's the bad luck part.

Some staff were excellent though, as was the location.

Management needs customer service training. Bar ran speakers on outside at 12:30pm and management basically told us to suck it up, they are a city hotel. I don't know about anyone else, but usually most decent hotels look after hotel customers especially when its a facility making the noise in their own establishment. Disappointed that the hotel made no effort for an apology or an attempt to make things better when I am aware there were other complaints that night.

The issue was not the street noise when the bar closed, but music that the bar turned on outside on the street at 12:30am and ran until 1:45. I went and spoke to to front desk and was told that was told that nothing could be done as it was the bar.

The hotel couldn't be more central, not that Torshavn is that big anyway. It is clean and basic and the onsite restaurant is very good. We paid extra for a room with a harbour view, which was fantastic. Unfortunately this meant that we were directly above the bar, which was open to after 02:00am and had a 'smokers' terrace just below our window, which even when closed did not block out any of the noise.
So unless you plan to be propping up the bar until closing time don't be tempted to pay extra for a harbour view!

Stayed over at the Hotel on 28. To 29. July, which is the National day, hence the most ecpensove day at the year. However, 1800 Dkk for a tiny double room is way too expensive and ghere is certainly not value for money. The Hotel is located at the old boat port area which makes it the best in town apart from the Hotel Føroyar which is located above the City with city view.
The room maid was a rood personality and the corridors were kind of wornout carpets, looking dirty and old.
Breakfast was reasonable and service at reception and restaurant was very good indeed.

Hotel Torshavn is centrally located. Very close to the harbor and shopping area. The furnishings, carpets are quite dated and needs replacement as they are dirty already. The bathroom was not clean. Very tiny room with a single bed. Nice staff with good recommendations. Good breakfast.

Hotel a bit difficult to get to until you know the streets and which ones are one way !
Clean hotel with pleasant staff.
Unfortunately we were unable to eat dinners there as they said they were booked up , even though half tables were empty. Tried to eat in pub but were told the kitchen had called to pub and they weren't able to take anymore orders as they couldn't keep up . At this time the restaurant was less than half full and only a handful of people in the pub .
Was very disappointing !

I can't say I was completely disappointed with my stay here because it is a great location. I guess I was surprised by the 3-star rating. The best thing was the view from the room, however, I would say this was just a bit above staying at a hostel. I was traveling alone so I was ok with it all but had I been with my family, I think I might have a stronger opinion. The staff was very pleasant. The bar and café attached to the hotel is also very lively and fun. I think the hotel could use a slight facelift. There was a feeling of uncleanliness on the carpeting in the rooms, thought everything else was cleaned well by the staff.

A rather spartan, stereotypical Nordic \"hotel\" room. Small single bed and a \"non-pillow\". Had to use towels and other items to make it a real pillow. Friendly staff at the desk but other staff gruff. They need to make their 11am check-out policy clearer. With a lack of other choices in central Torshavn there's probably not much incentive to improve. Okay for 1 night but anything longer your neck is gonna hurt.

Good location to city center

This was my first day on the Faroe islands. The hotl arranged for the airport shuttle to collect me, reasonable price. The hotel service was very professional and friendly. I had a single room and it was neat and clean. The hotel also has a great cafe/bar next door; very good pizza. The buffet breakfast in the hotel was good.

Pleasant hotel in very good location.

This modest Hotel has an excellent location next to the harbour in downtown Torshavn. The attached cafe serves a wide range of bistro style food at affordable prices. We had a nice view from our room. A very pleasant 3-4 star city hotel. Torshavn is really a large country town rather than a city.

Nice hotel in a lovely location down by the harbour and within walking distance of everywhere in town and all transport links. Food in restaurant very good and not expensive (for the Faroes). Helpful staff, but you may want to check when you order something as while everyone speaks English, perhaps not as well as you (or they) might think. A very enjoyable stay in a lovely town.

hotel Torshaven in Faroe Islands

We really did enjoy our stay at the Hotel Torshaven, it had a fabulous location, right by the harbour, everyone spoke english which was a relief. The bathroom was a little small but we coped ok with that, but the room was very comfortable with good view. The staff were very obliging, the breakfast was very good, the only thing we would liked to have had for the evening meal would have been some traditional Faroese food but that seemed to be lacking in all the restaurants in the town. Would recommend to anyone and hope to return next year.

1.膠囊咖啡機裡前房客用過的膠囊卡在咖啡機內，於是我喝到用別人用過的咖啡膠囊泡出來的咖啡。然後浴室暖氣後方還卡著別人用完的捲筒衛生紙的捲軸
2.我住五晚，不想room cleaning，但房內只給我兩小條洗頭兼洗澡的沐浴乳
3.櫃檯經常沒人，如果無法註冊app, 本該順暢省時的checkin花更多時間聯絡找人，然後用櫃檯上的電話找人幫忙提供房間密碼，連三次在我第一句話都還沒講完就直接放音樂把我put on hold
4. 不確定能否寄放行李, 因為櫃檯常常沒人，也沒明講櫃檯開放時間，為避免check in臨時聯絡不到人的狀況再發生，所以我直接放棄寄放行李，以免行李拿不出來，如果有較多需要人員協助的需求，這裡是個不確定性略高的住宿選擇。

Fin beliggenhed men larm fra gaden

Der var vinter dyner på værelset, al al for varmt i juli måned.
Vi boede på 4.sal med udsigt over havnen, upåklageligt og flot, men da der fredag og lørdag aften og nat er meget støj fra nattelivet, måtte vi lukke vinduerne, så der blev ret varmt på værelset. Så trods ørepropper så forstyrrede støj, råb, musik, knallerter og anden larm alligevel ret meget.
Morgenmaden var god og personalet var flinke.
