The room was tidy.
And the owner was a nice guy.
Don’t expect “fancy “
But note that for the money you can’t beat it.
They have a nice kurig coffee maker and I would urge anyone to bring extra k cups.
It had a cool vibe and no one bothered you.

I check in and I though was clean but when I uncovered the hot tub was dirty the toilet wasn't flushed properly, the bathroom tub wasn't draining properly so we decided to leave early on November 9 because we contacted Expedia and they can't do nothing about it but this place is bad I didn't recommend it to nobody. Is dirty and unsafe to people.

Well if you’re into psycho this is the place. Or maybe the shining. The place is vintage but in bad need of upgrades and remodeling of areas. Old farm tractor was on our friends patio so they had no access to outside. Our side patio ok but next door looked like a homeless camp on patio. The water dripped in tub and sink. The facets I wouldn’t even touch. I used a towel. It would be an awesome place if just painted and areas replaced there was trash everywhere just as you left the place right in front of front as you look down entrance way. Just need more organization of property and way it’s run.

That place was very dusty. Look very rundown. Had cobwebs on the wall and ceiling. Just an old man and his wife running place. Bathrooms look unhygienic, The bedding look very old and used. Could not see myself laying in the bed. It's also a fire hazard, they got so many things plugged into one outlet with cords and camera wires going all over.
The smell of mold and mildew I did see a few dead roaches in the lobby area and it look like rodents too.
It's definitely not what is advertised online and what the pictures are showing.
Don't get me wrong. This place look like it used to be very beautiful back in the days. I do love the vintage look. The place is just not upkept. Just needs better management.
Old husband and wife cannot manage that place anymore. With new management that place may be what it once was. For now I would not recommend anyone staying there. The cigarette smells in the room. horrible! Really thought I was getting a deal but it turns out to be a scam because It's not what was advertised I cannot get my money back even though I did not spend one hour there. I was able to book with chain hotel holidays inn with free breakfast and the a pool which was a lot more comfortable.

Let me start off by saying that this place is a beautiful place if you're looking for something antique and western, but overall, I must give this place three stars. It's very rundown, and the smell of mold rules the hallways. The place indicator says it's a smoke-free hotel, but it definitely isn't - all you smell are old cigarettes and pleading products. I appreciate that the young lady upgraded my room; the room was very clean, and the bed was comfortable enough for me to sleep in. The only issue was that the patio lights stayed on all night, and the curtains were thin, so the light bothered me. It also indicated they had a beach, but it was false - it's a swamp covered with trees and green mold. Overall, it was okay, but was it worth the amount I paid? No but that's how I get to experience things in the area by learning and never repeating the lesson again.

Absolutely terrible. Smelled like like mildew. Bugs everywhere. Huge flies. You could only lock the screen door with peice of wood at the bottom. Left 1 hr in our stay. Was getting sick from the smell. Felt very nauseous

The moment I turned on the faucet in the sink to brush my teeth, the water started backing up within 3 seconds. Dirty water with a clogged pipe, water couldn’t even go down the pipe. The entire place is like a very cheap motel. I left immediately. The online photos of the place were deceptive.

We played the gambling machines and my boyfriend got called a professional gambler because he hit on the machines. Then the receptionist was on tue phone saying she will tell us to leave. I confronted her and she said if my card declined because i paid with card amd not the cash we won from the machines. We went to another place to stay. They carged my card and im still waiting to get my refund.

A Nightmare Stay at The MappleMold hotel

I wish I could give this hotel zero stars. From the moment I arrived, it was clear this place was a disaster. The property is an absolute dump—trash littered everywhere, from cigarette butts to food wrappers, making the grounds look like a landfill. The building itself is ancient, crumbling, and reeks of neglect.

The room was even worse. The overpowering stench of mold, cigarette smoke, and dog urine hit me the second I walked in. The carpet was damp and squished underfoot, clearly saturated with who-knows-what (though the urine smell gave a strong hint). The ceiling in the bathroom had suspicious holes—perfectly positioned for a hidden camera, which made showering feel like a scene from a horror movie. I didn’t feel safe for a second.

Speaking of safety, the door’s lock was flimsy at best, barely latching, let alone securing the room. The whole place felt like it hadn’t been cleaned or maintained in decades. Mold crept along the walls, and the air was thick with a musty, smoky haze that made breathing unpleasant.

I couldn’t sleep, couldn’t relax, and checked out as fast as possible. This hotel is a health hazard and a security nightmare. Save your money and your sanity—stay far, far away.

We got there late in the evening. We asked to see the room it was disgusting. I have never seen anything like that. The smell was unbearable. We didn’t end up checking in we couldn’t stay there it was not possible.

Across the board, it was an bad experience staying here.
I checked out after the first day and didn’t stay the second day because of a sudden personal emergency.
So I asked the owner or manager to try to get me a refund for the second day booking and they told me to deal about it with Expedia.
So I called Expedia all they did was send me two emails so far telling me that the situation is still pending according to the Pocono Hotel and Spa.
That doesn’t make sense because they told me already at the hotel they will not refund me for the second day. That I had already paid and booked for through Expedia.
And I’m still waiting for an answer on that one for me from either Expedia or hotel.
Like I said, it was a personal, family emergency of why we left and the hotel management knows that and knows why.
It would be nice if I can at least get a credit for the $108 I paid for the booking or a full refund.
Which ever they want to do.

Trash every where not a spa

Terrible stank musky moldy, no toilteries, had to take ou5 own trash and supply own toilet paper, trash arpund the whole building collpasing and boarded up rooms doors and stairs, no one at the front desk, just very dirty cheap ran down,
No spa no hot tubs only 3 rooms have an INFLATABLE HOT TUB.

My wife and I recently planned a quick weekend getaway. We choose Pocono Mountain resort and spa for a couple of reasons.
1. Dog freindly. (They were very accommodating for traveling with our four legged member of our family.)
Close to other things in area we have done in the past. (Everything seemed to be around 25-30 minutes which we didn't mind with the wonderful Mountain veiws)
3 reasonable price
This is not the Hilton so don't expect it. If grandmom said come stay at my cabin in the mountains this place has that vibe. The staff and owner are nice and very sociable. The place is far from perfect and dated but thats what gives it its character. We are already planning our next trip back we loved it.

Totally miss represented. Took 15 minutes to find someone to let me in to begin with. Piles of garbage on the property. If I hadn’t been so tired, I would have left. As there were only thin doors with no deadbolt or chain, I felt a little unsafe. To sum it up: a dump.

I could not have been happier stepping back in time. The accommodations are commensurate with the price I paid. The relics and old world charm of this place can easily be compared negatively when put up against a chain hotel, but the experience was itself a part of the journey. I will definitely stay again

1. We had difficulty getting in- the front desk is not monitored full time, and we had no cell phone reception upon arriving, so it was very difficult to actually call for anyone to help us get in. You should make the wifi available to visitors even before they arrive.
2. The facility is a bit aged, which we can live with, but we discovered mice droppings on the second day, so we cut our visit short. It would be nice to be compensate for our second day!

The owner was very sweet and helpful. We spun out in the snow and needed a last minute place to stay. I felt so safe and welcomed at this place. He helped us out the best he could despite being in the middle of a snow storm. My boyfriend and I will forever appreciate all of the help the owner offered during a rough time

Beautiful resort and beyond kind staff. Though a bit far from shopping and gas stations the quiet space is what this offers. The Wi-Fi did go out on the tv for most of the night but everything else was enjoyable and didn’t personally bother me too much to have tech issues. Definitely recommend!

Too Cold for me who is a hunter of 50+ years.

Poorly heated. Large rooms with 4000 watt spaceheaters! Probable room temp 68 degrees. Not good after skiing or hunting in very cold days. Furnace appears to be partially dissambled and would cost a fortune. No staff on hand that I saw. Place was quite beautiful at one. Would not recommed.unless it was $50 anight

Good intentions but definitely not recommend.

So the owner was nice and the front desk personnel were friendly but people really need to know what they’re getting into before staying here. It is evident that the property was abandoned for many years and then reopened with little renovations. I’d compare staying there to camping in an old cabin - kind of musty, falling ceilings, random items in lobby drawers (20 year old printers and powered Alfredo sauce under the coffee pot). You can tell there are good intentions for the place, but they’re just not being fulfilled. There are no deadbolts on the room doors and judging by the striker someone could break in with ease. Definitely do not recommend unless you’re really looking for the bare minimum. We ended up going to the local Holiday Inn for our second night.
