Lovely staff, huge pool with hot tubs, free to use grills outside! The room was very nice and spacious, perfect for a convention goer/cosplayer. I enjoyed all the utensils and dishes they provided in the kitchen as well. The shower and bathtub were perfect, pretty spacious and warm. And another thing as a con-goer, the bathroom had many drawers to use for makeup storage, as well as a variety of mirrors all over the rooms. I will complain of a few things, specifically around the room, were difficult to function or didn’t function. One of the overhead lights was out, the bathtub drain plug didn’t work, and the ac buttons were a little broken so we couldn’t control it easily. The accessibility also isn’t fantastic, I would recommend calling and making sure you get a room on a floor that’s accessible by ground or by elevator, because the room I was in required at least one flight of stairs no matter what. (3rd floor royal). I’m an as-needed walker and forearm crutch user, I was unable to use either here and just kept them in my car for the convention time.
Would stay here again, with a bit more accessibility prep.

This place is creepy and old. A man hit on my child and her friend at there indoor pool! He ended up touching them and made rhem feel uncomfortable... the police were involved!

The hotel, although difficult to find due to the address being nearly identical to another one of their (abandoned-looking) locations, was clean and welcoming. The staff were friendly and got us checked in quickly.
The hotel’s age is evident. It seems like its heyday ended as soon as the nearby Kalahari opened, offering more premium lodging for families. The decor and architecture look to be from around the 70s, and plenty of the hotel is broken down. The room we stayed in reminded me more of my grandmother’s apartment than a hotel room. The walls were thin enough to hear the TV in the neighboring room.
The pool’s siding was moldy and the floor of the pool was falling apart. The water was visibly unclean, so I’m glad it was filled with fresh chlorine.
Inversely, the room WAS closer to an apartment than a hotel room. It consisted of a main living room, a bedroom, and an uncramped bathroom. We stayed in a *mini* room; I’d love to see how big the other rooms are!
The pool, despite its shortcomings, was devoid of other visitors, meaning the three of us had free rein to goof off in the area, which holds plenty of pool toys. There’s also a hot tub large enough for three adults. The water gets nice and hot, and the jets are strong.
I saw updated rooms on the Google listing, showing that they are indeed renovating the hotel, albeit slowly. I’d love to see how this affordable hotel looks once the renovations are done.

I booked that hotel mainly because of the pool. On entering the pool, I see a big cloud of hair floating in the water, we removed it so we could go in…..disgusting. I ended up cleaning a freshly spit gum from the floor before my child steps on it. It was dirty all around the pool- bottle cups, bread chunks and other food remaining. We didn’t want to go in the pool a second time.
The rooms are not the cleanest, bedroom had a moldy smell, dust on the carpet in all corners, night stands with sticky stains, but sheets/towels very clean and I didn’t see any bugs , very happy for that.

Staff- everyone we encountered with was very friendly and helpful.

My biggest dislike was the roof construction, they covered our windows to protect from dust. We got no fresh air, had to close the windows,no view and a good amount of dust and noise. We paid almost $200 per night, to stay in a place under construction. Neither hotel, nor booking site gave us any kind of refund. That was a big disappointment.

I will never book from a third party again. When there is a problem, they bounce you around and nobody wants to take responsibility. I will deal with the hotel directly from now on. The price at front desk was lower than what hotel.com charged me, and didn’t take any responsibility afterwards.

I like the pool area however I didn’t like that the playground was dirty. I don’t like that guests are asked to dispose of their garbage. Found that to be weird . This place is definitely for people who are looking to relax and catch up on sleep, surroundings are peaceful.

It was a great value for the price. The room had a full kitchen. There were very limited cooking tools though. The bathroom only had towels and no wash cloths but the front desk person was able to get some for us. The gym was out of service. Overall, it is a very good place to stay. We would definetly return.

Although the facility was dated , it was clean, comfortable and the staff friendly. The kids loved the pool, hot tub and the proximity to Jack Frost and Camellback was great.

I liked that Carol, at the front desk, asks for details about guests, such as how many children (though none were in my party), because there are activities, like crafts.
This is as close to home away-from-home as you can get.
Because there are kitchens in the suites, the delicious aromas from guests cooking circulated through the hallways. You could hear happy friends and families sharing meals in their rooms or sharing snacks and drinks by the amazing indoor pool.
I'd love to return with my grandnieces because of the strong family-oriented vibe I got during my stay!

The photos are of a new carport built onto an VERY old building. Picture 1950's government subsidized housing project. The smell of mold knocks you over when you enter the building. The carpets are at least 40 years old and dirty. The rooms are 1950's apartments. Very dirty, very disappointing. The good reviews must be from employees! hallways and rooms are dimly lit and scary.

The GOOD: The indoor pool was the best part. Bathtub warm and a good size. We swam every day. There was also a ping pong table and a kitchenette which we used. Our room had a powerful exhaust fan which helped to keep the room cool. The staff is super friendly, outgoing, and helpful. Fantastic people which makes me want to review better but I cannot. Proximity to all the stuff you'd want to visit is great as well. You can goto the arcade and walk ground at Kalahari and Great Wolf--kids liked it. Outlet malls are fun.

The BAD: Really outdated. One elevator is inconvenient. Smells that permeate mostly due to people having kitchenettes -- livable but a surprise. There doesn't appear to be any supervision of guests. Rooms on our floor were DEFINITELY overcrowded. I'm talking at least 5 kids were staying there and they played XBox til the wee hours. I'm not one to call the desk on others so I just dealt with it especially since it didn't seem to bother anyone else or keep anyone awake.

The UGLY: The room was not clean. I mean, it may have been refreshed but it wasn't clean. At all. Carpet and chairs had grease (?) stains. Murphy bed folded down to reveal dust and old flossing sticks behind. I considered bailing a few times but the family was willing to ride it out. No bedbugs and sheets looked clean so we stayed. No safety measures on windows. Air conditioner was filled with dust and dirt. Fortunately wasn't needed

Although it could use some updating, this hotel was clean, comfortable and fun for our two young kids. The mini suite was nice, with a fully functioning kitchen and a separate bedroom. The pool, playground and game area were all well maintained. Perfect for our family of four and very reasonably priced.

I had no sheets or blanket on my bed. I came in late from my function and did not want to bother with calling down to the desk, I was already changed for bed and did not relish the idea of someone observing me in that condition. I found an old decaying blanket that smelled and had holes in the cabinet, and used bath towels to cover up in. There were someone elses clothes in the dresser. In the morning, I talked to front desk, they said they couldn't do anything because it was booked with Expedia, and they would have the manager call me. The front desk said I should have called down, I said the bed should have been made before they let me take the room...so of course implying that it was my fault. They haven't heard the last of me, the manager better call.

Staff was friendly and the pool hot tub were clean and relaxing. Nice that the pool/hot tub were open all night as we were staying over after a near by concert and it was still open when we got back. The room was later our nice and the kitchen was a plus even though we didn’t utilize it to its fullest. As far as the shower, sinks and toilet- I felt they looked very clean and I felt comfortable using them. As far as dusting that was a little different, there were cob webs around the bottom of the vanity and in the one corner of the bathroom. Not a big enough deal for me to call the front desk over. The room could use an update but I didn’t need the grand hotel for this trip and it got the best reviews for the area so it was fine for what we needed it for.

We had a very easy check in. The check in time of 5pm was a little inconvienant, but they did allow me to check in around 4. The room was spacious and clean. You can tell they are working on renovations, but its clean! The pool area was very nice. Because of the location, an onsite eating establishment would be nice...but overall, a very nice stay.

This was a family vacation as were faced with limitations the moment we got there. They were completely booked so enforced a no guest rule that was not a written policy. My husband noticed they had a guest list with 4 names but we were told we couldn’t have any guests. The rooms are dated, bathrooms were not completely clean and the beds were very uncomfortable. Was faced with sarcastic comments from the manager when I voiced my dissatisfaction and limitations for my family coming to visit me at the hotel. Was treated like it was a college dorm room with “curfew” hours. I’ll never stay there again!

The building needs to be better cleaned and upgraded. Th front lobby area looks nice and clean when you walk in but as you are going towards your room there is a continuous stinky smell in the hallways and as you enter the room you can smell the dust in the room. In this century I would expect better, depending upon the capital budget may not be possible for everything to be upgraded to the top facilities but atleast general cleanliness and odor free hallways and rooms are expected by a paying customer. I wonder how they are keeping up with their inspections and stuff. Will not recommend and never go there.

It’s an older property that still needs some updating. The kitchen facilities were good. Pool is excellent. Great value, especially for a longer stay. The bathroom badly needs updating; the double sliding door to the tub/shower combo was impossible for me as a senior citizen with some mobility issues.
