We have been coming to this hotel for 8 years and loved it because they had something for the kids to do almost every hour. We booked almost a whole week and it was 2 activities a day. The recently renovated movie theater seats were almost halfway broken and all scratched up. The Jacuzzi and pool was ice cold. When you think you coming to resort that has a restaurant and bar on site and realize it only opens on weekend. No more Karaoke during week. We played bingo in a very dim
Lit Lobby. The play ground area was unkept. You had to make sure you bring your own sponge dish detergent and cleaning supplies because they never came to room for turnover(broom, dustpan etc) . Oh and let’s not get into water park. 3 major rides were down and has been over a year and they still over charging for it which I think if you stay there it should be little to nothing! Since all these activities are at a low, Why is the hotel rate still so high? The pool water outside was green and the lady in bowling alley accused me of taking a bowling pass off her cart in front of people. I spent almost $1000 for 4 days and you think I would steal number 1 and number 2 a damn $6 free bowling pass. I was so embarrassed! I complained and was told someone would call and no one ever did!

I have called several times this morning. Been put on hold and then deliberately hung up on. I'm trying to reach somebody in the billing department regarding the billing discrepancy. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy and I will be writing corporate about this particular facility. Don't stay here.

It was very disappointing to see the resort in such bad condition. I stayed in room 3652. The room wasn’t filthy dirty but it wasn’t clean. Good thing I bought my own cleaning supplies. The room was dingy and it had an odor to it. The windows are old making the room very cold. The air worked, but the heat not so much. The furniture is very old and the bed was hard as a brick. We had a full kitchen with no pots or pans, silverware, plates, bowls or cups, but yet we had a coffee maker. I was told by the front desk that 2nd floor was the only floor with a stocked kitchen which makes no sense to me. Our sheets were soiled when we arrived. I had to request clean sheets. The blanket had a yellow stain on it. We didn’t have washcloths in our room nor did any other room that the people in our group stayed. I requested a tea kettle and wash clothes but I didn’t receive neither. Someone had a bowel movement in the pool and the pool wasn’t shut down and sanitized creating a health crisis. Someone had a bowel movement in the hall on the 3rd floor. Our smoke detector activated because of the steam from the shower. It alarmed for about 10 min and no one never came to make sure it wasn’t an actual fire. I requested a walk in shower when I booked the room but we had a tub that was really hard to step in to because of back issues. The resort is dilapidate! Just pitiful!

The hotel has a horrible smell. The rooms smelled awful. I came with a group, some had no AC and the staff only offered a fan. The rooms were not cleaned very well. The kitchen area counters were sticky and had stuff still on them. The paint was coming off in the bathroom. There was no iron, only an iron board. The tv did not work. This hotel is a rip off and they should be ashamed of themselves. It is do for an absolute overall makeover.

Nice enough staff but this place is a dump! Definitely worth it to stay somewhere else. Room was clean but kitchenette was useless with no utensils. Couldn't use the pool as water was dripping into it from the ceiling and it appeared that the filters were off. Mini golf was not usable. Whole place had an eerie feeling like it was haunted.

We stayed in Willowbrook one bedroom. Apparently Wyndham took over Willowbrook, but there were very little improvements made.

We asked for a room on higher floor and were given a room on first floor, closest to lobby… there were like 6 cars in the lot first night, so rooms were available. We also paid for king bed and we were given 2 queen beds. There were bugs in the room coming in from patio door. We reported the bugs and they offered to have someone “clean it up”… they did nothing. We bought Raid and used it the whole weekend. It’s June and restaurant was closed, only the food court was open.

The young man who checked us in didn’t mention free breakfast, access to water park, or amenities, yet the people before and after us were offered these.

Pros - jacuzzi tub, large bathroom, large room, good kitchen, off resort property is a beautiful lake, and Sweet Cravings in Blakeslee is yummy!

Cons - poor communication, bugs, lack of restaurants/food on property, inconsistencies with check-in process.

We will be back in Poconos next year, but will be staying somewhere else. Cannot recommend this resort.

The saving grace of our stay was that my 4 and 5 year old were easily impressed by the water park (that was only half operational) and had mold growing on the infrastructure and the arcade. We did bowling, but the lane kept freezing so we gave up on the game. The pool was large, but the pool area had trash and dirt everywhere.
The hotel was very dated. The first room they gave us did not have working AC, so we had to switch room (which took about 2 hours to sort out). Our bathroom light/vent did not have a cover. The carpets and bedding had stains. The kitchenette had no utensils or trash can. There was no ice machine for guest use. The room did not have regular TV, so we had to sign in to our netflix account.

Unfortunately I cannot give a good review. As soon as we checked in we had a bunch of issues. The AC did not work, the fire alarm went off twice in our room (we did not cook anything or have any smoke-related activity in the room), the TVs did not work, there was dried blood on the bedsheets, the bathtub was dirty and chipped, and there was a leak in the bathroom ceiling. Upon finally being switched to another room, the ACs and TVs did not work either.

When leaving the resort the second night there was a leak in the main lobby by the entrance. The elevators were also out of service.

Split Rock needs a serious makeover and we will not be returning.

First and foremost Split Rock did not make me aware that we were staying separately from the actual hotel. This may have been a blessing because the hotel seems like its falling apart. Everything is old and needs to be updated. The place is so dirty and things donts even work. I was very disappointed with the experience and will not be returning. The waterpark was horrendous

The room was clean, but the back yard area had alot of dog poop, with a sign posted asking to clean up after your dog. I had my 2yr old running around in the grass until I noticed dog poop scattered around all over the property. Also, the water park was closed, due to a live band performing, yet this information wasn't mentioned during booking. That's the reason why I stood at this hotel.

There was no pool or waterpark access available — only a small, isolated arcade. The security guards were kind, and the arcade staff were very pleasant and helpful. Unfortunately, my experience with the hotel staff and management was extremely disappointing. The manager falsely told me the waterpark would be opening the next day, which convinced me to extend my stay and pay for an extra night unnecessarily. I later found out this information was untrue.
The room also had maintenance issues, including a refrigerator that leaked water. On top of that, around 8 a.m., someone attempted to enter our room and kept trying the door handle. Thankfully, I had the security latch engaged, but the situation felt very frightening and unsafe.

Me and my family drove there for hours, just for them to tell us the have a power shortage on half there resort and the main attraction wont be open. They offered me a rain check, obviously I could no do that due to driving hours with multiple kids in the car. I WILL NEVER BOOK WITH THIS RESORT AGAIN NOR DO I RECOMMEND YOU WASTE YOU TIME GOING TO SEE. The staff disregarded us in line went around us to attend to another customer when we were in line. I also booked two rooms and the second building looked like a run down hostile that should be on a scary movie. They would not even upgrade the second room cause they were booked, but no cars in the parking lot. They stated the power outage happened in the morning time. Our check in time was 4:00pm. I think it was more then enough time to contact me and let me know what was going on to see if I could have a refund due to THERE NATURAL DISATER PROBLEM! THEY WERE UNPROFESSIONAL. IT WAS A WASTE OF TIME AND A WASTE OF MY MONEY. NEVER AGAIN!

1. Property without power in most of the area

3. ⁠Water park closed
4. ⁠routed to different location for check-in
5. ⁠Did not inform about issues on Fri, and said we can buy water park tickets on property, and enjoy full day
6. Check-in process was total mess
7. ⁠Waited for another 90 min for room checkin
8. ⁠They gave us room, which was in use…moved to another room, which was without kitchen towel and utensils
9. ⁠No room service..

11. Restroom door not closing
12. It was no pet property, but there was dog barking whole night in nearby room
13. No security and no oversight on the floo

I was very disappointed with our recent stay at Split Rock Resort. We booked this trip primarily to use the indoor pool and water attractions inside, only to arrive and discover that the resort had no electricity, which meant the indoor pool was closed.

While we were relocated to the neighboring Willowbrook hotel, the experience there was far from ideal. The room appeared clean at first glance, but the sheets smelled as though they had already been used, and we found hair on the towels. It was not the level of cleanliness we expected.

To make matters worse, the compensation offered was a $20 arcade credit that was provided at checkout, making it impossible for us to use during our stay. We were told we could use it on a future visit, but after this experience, that was not much of a consolation.

Since the resort indoor pool was closed, we ended up purchasing day passes to Camelback Resort’s indoor water park so our family could still enjoy the weekend we had planned.

What disappointed me most was the lack of communication. Had we been informed about the power outage and unavailable amenities before our arrival, we could have made an informed decision about whether to continue with the trip or cancel it altogether. Instead, we arrived with some expectations and were left scrambling to make alternative plans.

Unfortunately, this experience did not meet our expectations, and I hope the resort improves its communication and system.

Loved staying here: the only issue I had was they did not discuss the amount of the security deposit while checking in and automatically charged my card an extra $200. I feel communication on their end should have been better with that. The room was very nice but once we turned the AC on in the bedroom a bunch of black stuff shot out all over the bed. Def did not enjoy that. Maybe it just needed a good cleaning prior to use.

Statues at Willowbrook and the room was upgraded and super clean and the jacuzzi tub was the star of the show. Huge bathroom as well. Loved the balcony to get fresh air. I thought all the indoor amenities listed were included in our stay but only the pool & hot tub were the rest you have additional costs for. But was super convenient not having to go far for all the activities. Staff went above and beyond for us! Over all we really enjoyed our stay. Will definitely go back again.

Bedroom door did not close, paint chipping in the shower. fridge was broken leaking water inside and out… Spoke to front desk was told maintenance would come… never came nothing was included had to pay for amenities (bowling etc) for the amount they charge for the rooms you would think it would include more… could've honestly stayed at a franchise hotel and got more for the money… def would not be booking again

Do not recommend. Water quality was poor. Brown water came out of the faucet while trying to fill the jacuzzi in our room. Brown sediment rested at the bottom of the jacuzzi. I later read online that it’s been an ongoing issue. We had to buy water to drink, brush our teeth etc. The hotel did have neat amenities but it was run down. The hallways were in desperate need of vacuuming as I came across broken glass and food on the ground multiple times. Some staff were very pleasant. Others were very dry and didn’t seem to care. The room was fairly clean. There was a comforter stored away, when we pulled it out to use it , there was a hole that had been patched with two staples. I wanted to love this place and I looked forward to staying here. It was a major disappointment! Don’t waste your money!

We drove 4 hours and upon check in they informed us the water park was NOT included in stay. The room was filthy ( bathtub had hairs in it, toilet was dirty, and the bed sheets were stained). Our room key was assigned to other guests whom walked into our room while we were still inside. Every guest we encountered told us to not waste money on the water park- it’s filthy and water heaters are always broken. We decided to leave 4 hours after arriving, to drive back home another 4 hours. When we informed the front desk of our reasons for leaving and requesting refund, they told us we would have to email the manager because there was no one there to authorize a refund. After going back and forth for a while, my husband agreed to to allow them to charge one night ( we were supposed to be there for 2 nights), they agreed and put a refund request form in for the 2nd night. Although they charged us for one night we still decided to leave with our kids. It was absolutely a horrible experience, my 3 yr old and autistic 13 yr old were devastated and tired. My 3 yr old celebrated his birthday in the car since he couldn’t have his celebration at the resort as we planned. We will NEVER recommend them to anyone.

If you through Expedia, the hotel treats you horrible. The price is the same if you book through the hotel website maybe a very small difference but you get water park tickets you get kitchen ware and you get treated differently. I booked through Expedia and Didn’t get any water park tickets no kitchen culinary no pots no pans not even forks spoons or cups. When I called downstairs they said I booked through a third party and that is not included, the same thing they said when we arrived regarding the water park tickets. To top it off the room looked really old and out of date and management was even worse no customer service etiquette. When I spoke with Maya who claimed to be the manager on duty and explained it was my granddaughters birthday if there was anything she could to to make our experience better she said no I booked through a third party so talk with them. Expedia misleads you when they say this is a rare find cause you have water park access making it seem it’s included and then in fine print on another page it says surcharge. And the hotel sucks because they put rooms on Expedia because they obviously can’t get all the rooms rented but then they treat the paying customer like crap taking basic amenities like cups forks and dishes away but there’s a full kitchen in the room. Make that make sense! Overall horrible experience my granddaughters birthday was ruined, don’t even bother going there!

In March 2026 I booked a two-night stay, despite the rough reviews, because my son is really into tennis right now and this trip was his 16th birthday present. The website depicted beautiful and spacious indoor tennis courts and we planned to just play our hearts out. We also planned to enjoy the waterpark and indoor basketball courts.

The room was as pictured which was nice. Unfortunately, the restaurants and cafe closed several hours earlier than indicated on the night we arrived and the front desk offered zero suggestions. The next morning we discovered that the indoor tennis courts no longer exist - a massive disappointment considering it was in the low 20's outside with wind gusts up t0 25 mph. The basketball court was blocked off for a gun show the resort was hosting that weekend. The waterpark never opened on Thursday, despite the posted hours, and when it did open on Saturday, we were afraid to go based on the filthy, leaking conditions of the tube slides which could be seen from the parking lot. I contacted Expedia to complain and the hotel was unwilling to offer any amount of refund. They did offer us a late checkout and complimentary breakfast, which was actually lovely, until a baby cockroach walked past our view on the wall beside our table.

My son and I made the best of it and there were two employees who stood out, Pablo in management and Louis in the Bistro, but other than them this was a massive fail. The health department should get over there asap.

We stayed in one of the condo units tucked in the woods and it was very quiet. There were no supplies provided in the kitchen ( dish cloths, soap, etc.) because we were not time share owners, but they were eventually provided when requested. The in room Jacuzzi was great.
The property is aging, but is being updated by Wyndham at this time and improvements are expected.

To be completely honest split Rock is really outdated and in need for upgrades. For one the water that comes out of the room faucets is kinda yellow. The furniture was kind of falling apart. The movie theater played the movie and everything just shut down Midway with no explanation why. The pool tables in the billiards room are all broken up. The parking lot has holes throughout so expect a bumpy ride when around the property. There is no food options during the week at all. Was kind of disappointed Will probably not be back here but if you're looking for a cheap place...... go for it.

The kitchen was not fully equipped with any cooking utensils. The kitchen was dirty. There was blood on the floor from the last person that was there. I complained about it and they’ve never sent anybody to clean it. There was a dead fly over the kitchen table. They never came and cleaned it. The shower did not work. They came to fix it said it was fixed and then I went to go get a shower after that it was not fixed. I ended up getting my room switched twice. Place was horrible. I would never go back 2 inches of dust all over the place the ceiling fan was thick of dust.

It was nice there. We stayed at the off-sight units, which was fine with us, we were only staying one night and didn't have any kids with us. It was dated, but very clean. There was probably only 4 other rooms being used in the whole unit, again, it was ok with us. If I could complain about anything, it would be that it had a full kitchen, but no utensils or flatware or a garbage can anywhere. So it was really peaceful. We had a good time.

first of all we had requested for all our rooms to be together and they said they would well that did not happen and as big as that property is we were spread out through out the property TERRIBLE I will spare you the rest of the details and go righ to the big one BED BUGS and not only in my room but several others in the family. SHAMEFUL. The restaurant was terrible from the service which was not the staffs fault to the HORRIBLE food and we were not the only ones complaining.

Quiet, not crowded at all, and breakfast included is a plus. Some staff were friendly. I did receive accommodation for the pool being closed. My granddaughter and Daughter enjoyed the H2O waterpark. It’s not a 5 star resort but it will do. The pool was closed for a couple of days, It would’ve been nice to be notified.
I will come again but I will call in Advance to see what’s open and what’s close.

Upon arival the staff didn't even know where our room was. Our room number was not listed on the floor map. After circling 3 times we found it on our own. Room is pretty awful. It smells horrible. we go to wash up & there's no running water. No water in the hotel for hours. Dead bugs in light fixtures and on windowsils. They don't clean the rooms daily. We had 3 days of dirty towels on the floor. We never got to use the pool. The pool was green, they were still telling peope it was safe to swim. The next day it was closed The water park was closed a few days of our stay. I didn't have the highest expectations when I booked this "resort" but you couldn't pay me ever stay there again.

The water was closed our entire stay which was the purpose of choosing the resort. No accommodation or credit was given towards the stay for the issue, each child got $10 credits and was used with 3 games. Our room window was left opened and would not lock.

Do not waste your time booking this resort. The negative reviews you are seeing are not individual experiences.
We booked a two bedroom suite but were given a one bedroom. The refrigerator did not work and we lost around $50 in food.

Our room was 82+ degrees. When we asked maintenance for help, we were reprimanded for lowering the thermostat. They brought us box fans to “cool” the room. (Spoiler: the fans did nothing to cool the room and the temperature kept increasing.) At least five other rooms on the third floor had their doors propped open with fans for the entire night. This tells me the heating is not only a comfortability issue but also a safety issue.

The water park was closed but apparently was only partially functional on the days when it was open.

Everything is dated, smelly and dirty. Even the bath water was coming out yellow/brown.

We spent time in the lobby waiting for our dinner to be delivered and every single person we encountered was complaining of similar issues, if not worse.

I truly do not know how this company is still in business but I know for certain that my family will not be returning.

The resort is very out dated. We had to wait about 15 minutes for hot water to kick in the bathroom, the facility is very old. The TV didn’t not work properly. Most of the staff couldn’t speak English. The food was good, and the staff were attentive.

Only thing good about place was hot tub. They have a kitchen with NO kitchen utensils or pots and pans. Your key will LOCK before checkout time. When you call about it, rep will act like there’s a problem with everybody key and use CURSE words when they speak to you. Very rude employees. WON’T book again

The room and Building we were berthed in was poorly maintaned. The building reaked of Marajuana (This was supposed to be a non-smoking building) There were no Vending Machines, no Game Room, No Ice Maker...The room ws clean, but there was no Hot Water for the first 24 hours of our stay. I reported this to the front desk and one lady offered another room, but one of the other ladies told her that it wasn't an option. I had to call and complain several times about the hot water. When they finally notified maintenance, the maintenance personnel discovered that someone had turned off the hot water and never turned it back on. This was severe inconvenience. I e-mailed and called the manager, but never received any response. The bathtub drain was inoperable. I had to fix that for them, otherwise, I would have not been able to use the tub on teh 2nd day after the hoe water was turned back on There were no pots, pans, dishes, silverware, or amenities in the room, There was no remote for the TV in the Bedroom, I want to request a refund for at least one of the days due to the inconvenience of not having any hot water and for the poor overall quality of my stay.

We stayed in the suite, in the bedroom half of the room didn’t have power. There was also no linens. The jacuzzi tub in the room did not work. The complementary breakfast did not have enough they ran out a lot of the food. The water park was small and everything in it was not operating.

The room was extremely outdated and in serious need of improvement. There was a terrible smell throughout the room that was absolutely disgusting.
The water was either freezing cold or burning hot, making it impossible to shower comfortably.
To make matters worse, out of the nine rooms my family rented, we found bedbugs in seven of them.
When I went to speak to the manager the next morning to report the issue, she casually asked if we would like them to wash our clothes and said, "It's not a big deal." That response was completely unacceptable and showed a lack of concern for the don't know where to begin. When we arrived to check in, they had run out of room keys. I stayed at the resort for the Martin Luther King weekend. The building we were assigned to did not have an ice machine, and there was no one at the front desk available to assist us. On top of that, the heating system broke down. When I called the information number, the recording stated that assistance was only available until 10:00 PM.

It was a weekend with constant snowfall, and neither of the two heating units worked properly, which made the stay very uncomfortable. I have been coming to this resort for over 10 years, but unfortunately it feels like there is less investment in maintenance and guest support each time.
