Good location in quiet area within short walking distance of beaches. Relaxing and upscale decor with tasteful touches throughout. Comprehensive buffet breakfast in lovely dining room. Our suite was well appointed with private garden patio area; no bedside lamps available and precarious and dangerous small step down from room to patio. Staff interactions were what you’d expect from an hotel at this level - very good.

The room was very clean. The lighting was a bit dim in the room.

The staff were all friendly and helpful, (apart from those in the spa.)

The housekeeping staff in particular were great, very efficient and obliging.
The bar was nice and I enjoyed the special cocktail of the month.
The rooftop pool area is beautiful, though of course it would have been nice if the food and drink bar were not closed for the winter months.

The hotels location is reasonably convenient for the beach and the main A22 motorway that leads from Spain to Faro and beyond.

The TV was hard to use with a really annoying advert for Pr1me Energize every time it was switched on!

The breakfast was a bit disappointing with very little choice if cereal or eggs.

But all in all, I recommend this hotel. Thank you for a lovely stay!

We stayed at this hotel twice before and it ideal for us. Staff are friendly helpful and great. Facilities are very good and good value for the money. We decided to include an evening meal and this vacation, which I didn’t realise was a buffet. We have two very minor remarks.
1) On the whole the food was very good but one evening the temperature of the food was not hot enough.
2) At breakfast there is an orange juice machine that crushed fresh oranges, which provides beautiful juice, but it seemed every 5 minutes it jammed up. Probably needed some maintenance.
I consider this to be minor but the reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 stars.

Room was Clean, Staff was friendly, Bathroom was spacious. Bed was nice. The only reason for the 4 is: 5th floor elevator is not the main elevator and it is located in seperate area and only fits 2 people with no luggage or one person with luggage. You then walk an unenclosed hallway to the outside to get to your 5th floor room. Fine if the weather is good but not ideal if its not. All and all a very nice place just know that uf you book 5th floor you will not use the large primary elevators. Also note parking padlocks could use being replaced. Padlock on parking gate is rusted and hard and my wife could not close.Again a great location and 5-8 min walk to beach and dining.

Remember to book the spa in advance, plunge pool not very deep and some of the jacuzzi jets not working, other than that it was fabulous. Roof top bar and pool also great. Monte Gordo a solid up and coming location, not over developed for tourism. Worth getting out the town to Tavira or other beautiful algarve coast line locations - roads very smooth for driving.

Great hot and cold options for breakfast. Super meal choices very good. Staff very accommodating to our requests. We were only a15 min walk (flat) to train station. Close proximity to highway that is very walkable to Vila Real deSanto Antonio.

We absolutely loved our stay. The only feedback is on the gym. We would have loved to have had some actual barbells or dumbbells instead of just kettlebels. We will come back and hopefully we LL see these changes.

Beds were inconsistent, wife's 1/2 was a nice mattress, the mattress on my side was old/worn and so soft that I had one of the worst sleeps of anywhere I have ever stayed, also the blackout curtains didn't work and almost fell on me when I tried to close them. Dinner: we were not shown anywhere on the Orbitz site that dinner was only available with a 24hour reservation (for a buffet?), and it was 30 euros per person. But the person at the front desk directed us to a very nice place to eat that cost us 1/2 of what the buffet would have. Parking: we were lucky it was out of season still or we would not have found parking. The site does not have dedicated parking that I could see, even though it says they have parking on Orbitz. I gave 2 stars because the breakfast was decent, and view from room was nice. After walking around, I came to the conclusion that there are nicer and cheaper hotels closer to the beach. Stay away from this one!!!!

Perfect getaway.

A wonderful stay at The Prime Energize. The staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful. The room was spotless, bed comfy and ideal for our stay.
The spa area was lovely. The indoor pool was perfect for a rainy January day.
The breakfast was top notch. Continental or cooked was available. Faultless.

Good view of sea if you get the room on fifth floor, good bed, spacious room, spacious balcony, very clean room and bathroom with all amenities.

The only thing that put us off were the broken locks on bathroom doors. Imagine the hassle of staying the day/ night with two mischievous toddlers.

The breakfast and half board buffet is just basic. Although, you get the option to purchase what is not on the buffet menu.

We wish the indoor pool let in kids in the evening if the pool isin’t busy. And wish the buffet had kids food.

Hotel is nice and modern. Jr. suite was large only issue was the shower has like a half door and water went all over the floor after every use. We possibly didn’t use it right but I think we did. Breakfast had variety and was delicious. We only ate lunch in the hotel once it was ok but kinda pricey tons of other restaurants close by and more affordable. It’s about a 5-7 minute walk to the beach and it’s very safe. We stayed 8 nights and had a great time. Lots of other towns close by to visit also.

Every staff member was really friendly and always had a warm friendly smile from the cleaners in the morning to the restaurant and bar workers. Joao the restaurant manager could'nt do enough for us. We had an infant with us and he was soo helpful and kind to us, as were all the staff members. This made a big difference to our stay.

The Prime Energize is a Primo Property

The Prime Energize is one of the best hotels in the whole of the Algarve. It is comfortable, stylish, priced well, and in a great location. Fuel is a very good restaurant for any meal; breakfast was especially good. For me, a good night's sleep is the most important aspect of my stay. My room was spacious, quiet and the mattress and linen were outstanding -- Portuguese cotton sheets no doubt.I have already booked my next stay. I'd also like to comment about Catarina at reception; she made me feel welcome and provided lots of good tips for my time in Monte Gordo -- a very unpretentious and attractive town.

I went away with my partner for a couple of days without child, I’m sure I said I wanted a double bed room. Got two single beds side by side not the most comfortable beds in the heat of the moment or when trying to relax next to one another.

Lovely hotel spoiled by dogs barking.

This is a really nice hotel. Lovely staff, excellent facilities, clean, modern and great location. Unfortunately there is one big down side. Just outside the hotel, there are a number of private houses where there are 4 or 5 big dogs. These dogs bark very loudly whenever someone passes their house and one dog then sets off another one. Sometimes they appear to bark for no reason. This goes on during the night and is especially noisy first thing in the morning. We mentioned this to the hotel staff who are aware of the problem but state there is nothing they can do as the dogs are within private property and can basically do as they like. I am a big dog lover but this is ridiculous. Did it disturb our sleep - yes. It’s such a shame as the hotel really has no other faults.

Quiet, relaxing, location

The facility is very nice, especially the restaurant and the staff. We stayed four days. The soap, shampoo, coffee, etc. were not replenished though there upon arrival. The hotel was two blocks from the beach so views are not great. Monte Gordo itself is minutes from the Spanish border to the East and is fine if you want quiet, with primarily families and seniors. We cruised the Algarve and would rather have been in Lagos or Albufeira which offer more activities and dining options.

Exceptionally good hotel - very helpful and friendly staff, comfortable room, great cocktails, good reasonable priced restaurant, delicious buffet breakfast, massages at the spa (very relaxing), sea view balcony and roof terrace swimming pool. What more could you ask for??! We highly recommend this hotel and are planning to return again soon. Even if we hadn't left the hotel we would still have had a thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing break. Location good too - short walk to nice beach.

Smart new hotel

Very nice new hotel in monte gordo
Rooms brand new clean large TVs in the room and amazing shower and bathroom
However disappointed that the gym and spa facilities were not available and pool area still not ready
Building works were ongoing during our stay
Good food especially breakfast but I would say they could add porridge to the breakfast menu and improve bread range
I would stay again once they have finished the gym and sauna. very nice staff and good area for running and cycling

There are no transfers from/to the airport available.

It stated that they provided tea & coffee facilities in the room and they don't. We asked if we could have this added to our room and the receptionist said no.

There is a lack of hotel information in the room e.g. no welcome pack, in of about the area nor about room service. The information on the TV is very basic.

Overall the breakfast was good, fresh and plenty except one day the scarmbled eggs were green and grey.

One night my mother wanted to stay in and we asked the restaurant if they could make her a cheese sandwich so she take it up to her room. They said no as it was agansit the law to serve food not shown on the menu. However, there is room service on the information on the TV. We returned to the room to find that there was no room service menu.

Very quiet and felt safe in this location. The beach was only a couple of streets away.

This hotel is located in Monte Gordo and San Antanio is a 10 minute bus ride away.

Rommet var rent og pent. Det ble ryddet og vasket hver dag, og skiftet bruktd håndklær.
Men rett framfor vår altan var det et digert tre, slik at vi fikk ingen glede av sola som skinte på dagen. Vi måtte oppholde oss inne i rommet istedet, mens de fleste andre gjestene kunne sitte på altanen og nyte solvarmen.
Personalet var hyggelige, frokosten veldig bra. Vi benyttet ikke utendørs bassenget, men satt rundt der enkelte ganger.
Hotellet har bra treningsrom, varm sauna, innendørs basseng, og SPA. Dette siste benyttet vi ikke

If you want a nightclub atmosphere at breakfast, this is the hotel for you – but not for me.
Ridiculously loud music every day, and the reception tells me it’s a “nice way to wake up.”
There are no outdoor areas where you can retreat.
The rooftop pool has no shower, so sunscreen floats on the surface of the water.

For me, this hotel is a definite NO GO.
