Loved the property, staff were amazing and we’d love to return, but we didn’t realize that there would be so many very young children. Meal times were chaotic and very noisy. For this reason sadly we probably wouldn’t go back.

We loved this hotel. The had written note and gifts were lovely to receive on arrival. The breakfast buffet was delicious and had ample vegan options. The staff at the front desk were very friendly and very helpful. We loved our visit to the beach close by and our walk through the properties wooden boardwalks.

i had stayed at this property last year, they kept the good and friendly service but the quality of certain things diminished - e.g. breakfast items. More importantly, they don't offer beach chairs/ amenities anymore, which is quite an important thing, since this is a beach hotel. All in all it seems the pandemic has force them to cut on certain things, which in my opinion is deterimental to the return of international guests

This hotel was perfect for us a young family. The balance between design hotel and being kid friendly was just right. The little touches in the kids club of the Halloween trail and a crafting activity everyday meant the kids were entertained while we relaxed. Our suite was well designed and housekeeping was excellent, including freshly baked cookies and bedtime stories for the kids. The gardens and landscaped walk to the beach were beautiful. A thoroughly relaxing break- thank you Praia Verde!

Style over substance. Aesthetically pleasing but bad design for a hotel. Noise from stone inlaid corridors & marble bedroom floors, heavy roller doors on the shower, loud clunky cupboard door mechanisms & rammed full of pre-schoolers, whose parents let them run & squeal in corridors, scream in the dining room & shout all day long at the swimming pool, which is in a baking, walled-terrace setting with nowhere for the noise to escape or air to circulate. Single pool toilet & adjoining shower not nice or kept all that clean & usually had a wet floor that you have to paddle through. This is their nominated late checkout option for a shower before the airport, no thanks! Bed comfortable and room furnishings beautiful & spacious, but without ear plugs you’ll be kept awake late and woken early. Front desk service and room turn down etc. all very good, thanks. Food in restaurant served cold first night - countless meals waiting on the pass under warming lights. Policy to serve kids meals first - by a good 20 minutes, without being asked if that’s what we’d like?! Restaurant service generally slow & a bit disorganised. Breakfast better but Cappuccinos awful, eggs forgotten one day & rather typical of the entire experience was the fact that the coffee cups are trendy metal beakers, so they burn your hands if you have any more than a half filled cup at breakfast! We had booked 5 nights (non-refundable) we managed to stay for 3. Life’s too short. Would not recommend or return.

The hotel is stylish, the food is delicious, and it’s about an 8 min easy walk to the beach. Downsides, the waiting staff in the restaurant were inattentive and less than friendly at times, and the pool is basically a large, shallow paddling pool full of children and their inflatable toys. Great destination if you have a young family, not so much if you want peace and quiet!

Not sure why this isn’t a 5 star hotel!!

We had such a wonderful experience at this hotel! Every single staff is friendly but in a genuine way. The decor of the hotel is beautiful. Very modern and all the details are thought through. Breakfast is one of the best we had. There isn’t an infinit choice but everything is high quality which for me is much more important than having random options.
We had a little issue with our room as at Hotels.com the the Sea View room detailed as having separate living room and kitchenette which the Panoramic room, which is cheaper, has. When we got there the room didn’t have that and they said that none of the sea view rooms have those. I’m not sure if the problem came from Hotels.com or the hotel who put the wrong info. The hotel was full and we couldn’t move but the next day they moved us and it was all fine. I contacted Hotels.com who refunded the difference that we paid for the sea view.
We are already planning to go back to Algarve and we will most certainly stay again at Praia Verde Boutique Hotel.

I booked this hotel for the weekend for my boyfriend's birthday. Anne and the hotel staff went above and beyond to make the weekend special and so enjoyable!

Apart from the staff, the hotel is in the most beautiful location with incredible views from the rooms and the beach is only a couple of minutes walk away.

We will definitely be returning!

Lack of staff (reception, breakfast, etc) although those working were very nice
Too small - small rooms, small pool, small dinning area
Starting to feel run down - rooms and bathrooms, pool shower not working

Generally didn’t feel good value - prices similar to those in other algarve areas with better infrastructure. The boutique nature of hotel does not justify premium pricing. More like a 4* rather than a 5*

A room with a view

A beautiful contemporary hotel with excellent service and food. We had a room on the third floor with amazing views. There were lots of children and we were there as a couple, this is not a criticism but if you want quietness around the pool and in the restaurant I would suggest you go out of season. On the whole a fabulous stay at this beautiful place.

Lovely hotel - quiet

We had booked a triple room for my husband, son and myself. We were surprised that we were given a room with 2 twin beds and a pull-out sofa. Needless to say, our son didn't find the sofa bed very comfortable. However, had the room been for just the two of us, the 1 bedroom suite was lovely. We had a balcony with two sets of patio doors opening up onto. The air conditioning was a little complicated so we did get a little hot in the room. The buffet breakfast which was included was excellent. If you are looking for a quiet property this is the property for you. Looking for action, it isn't.

Beautiful hotel surrounded by nature.

My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights and absolutely loved it! The staff are attentive and sweet and the room was spacious, clean and had an amazing view of the ocean. The hotel is surrounded by nature and walking to the beach is peaceful and relaxing. The hotel is about and easy and beautiful 1 hour drive to the central part of the Algarve (Lagoa, Albufeira etc) and only 15 minutes from
the Spanish border. We ate at the restaurant A Terra 2 times for dinner and 1 time for lunch and it was great. Breakfast was simple but delicious. There were a lot of families with young children which the hotel caters well too. We will stay here again on our next visit to the Algarve.

We went to the hotel as a couple and it certainly felt like somewhere more appropriate for families. The room was spotless and had everything you would want. But although the hotel ticked many boxes, we felt it lacked it atmosphere and small details made a real difference. A large TV was playing football in the lobby/ restaurant area which we didn’t find particularly relaxing. The bar is very much in the middle of the restaurant so there was nowhere to sit and have a quiet drink before and after dinner. We had high hopes for the restaurant having read good reviews but were sorely disappointed. The pizzas were bland and did not taste as though they had just come out of a pizza oven, the sweet potato fries were terrible and even the roasted vegetables lacked in flavour. I certainly would not recommend the restaurant to anyone. Although we went out of season, the hotel is very close to the beach which is definitely a plus. I was expecting a boutique hotel and I wouldn’t say Praia Verde fits the bill for that.

Great place to relax

Hotel Praia Verde is the perfect place to relax.
From the moment we arrived we were looked after with a welcome drink, and short tour.
Breakfast was excellent with a great selection of hot and cold foods including home made breads, butter, jams and juices. Restaurant and pool bar served great food, wine and cocktails.
Lovely swimming pool area. Short walk to beautiful nearby beach.
Well equipped gym.
Our suite had good facilities and was very clean.
All the staff at the hotel worked incredibly hard, were really friendly and helpful and made it a really welcoming place to stay.

Very welcoming and given short tour of facilities on arrival. Fantastic room with separate living room & kitchenette, all spotless. Secluded spacious balcony. Excellent choice of breakfast food & drink. Nothing too much trouble. Small gift of biscuits left in room every afternoon. Good restaurant A Terra, used by many. We booked for 4 nights with a view to moving elsewhere for our last 3 but were so comfortable we decided to stay here the whole week. Great location with easy access to all local areas & only 30mins across the bridge to Spain. What more to say? Try it, you won't be disappointed!

Very good family friendly hotel

We stayed at Praia Verde for a short five day break with our two children (a two year old and a three month old).
The staff is very friendly and they are always ready to help. Overall, the facilities are good and clean. The kitchenette in the room is handy, although we hardly used it.
It is advertised as a family friendly hotel: it essentially is, they are very good with children and have a recreationist on site in the afternoon until the evening. They claim to have a \"kid's club\", but in fact that really is just a tiny room with a few toys, so the children get easily get bored after a while. We went in October, so it was very quiet. Maybe there are more activities during the high season.
The restaurant is very good and again, the staff is (mostly) friendly. Our criticism is that, because the hotel is really quite remote, you end up mostly eating in. Because of that I think it should have a larger menu and it would be good if it changed every now and then, to avoid you getting bored of the same dishes. We stayed only five days and already did...
The bed in the family room was huge and comfortable, however the sofa bed was really very uncomfortable to just sit on and watch TV. We didn’t use it as a bed as we used cots, so as an actual sofa it really could be better.
During the day the restaurant is closed and the pool bar is where lunch is served. Again, the menu could be more varied. But overall the area is comfortable and pleasant, it just lacked a bit of atmosphere, such as

Excellent hotel close to the beach

Very pleasurable stay with a lovely pool, pool bar and access to the beach. Please note that the walk to the beach is more than 500 yards and so with little ones this may prove too much. Although it caters for children, at meal times it does not provide children's cutlery and rather relies on young ones being able to use adult cutlery. A small point but one to bear in mind. The room was spacious and well furnished.

I stay in many hotels for work and leisure and this is by far the nicest placd I've had the pleasure to call home away from home in a while. The bed was like sleeping in a cloud - so comfortable with a panoramic view past the balcony to the ocean. We stayed 3 nights and didnt venture out to eat as A Terra the restaurant serves breakfast and dinner, while we ate at the pool restaurant bar for lunches as relaxed in the shade, reclying on masses of cushions.

Our room was on the new 3rd floor, so smaller that the suites on the lower floors, but everything was brand new and stylish, a huge balcony and nespresso machine (you only get pods on the first day but can buy more from the stylish deli/gift shop in the lobby, or just take some with you).

The staff work extremely hard and go that extra mile to ensure you are well looked after, nothing is too much trouble.

We cannot wait to go back to this uber stylish yet unpretentious Design Hotel.

A good place for a relaxing holiday.

We had a lovely relaxing holiday at the Praia Verde Boutique Hotel. It's in a quiet area, a short walk from the Praia Verde beach which is a long sandy beach. Staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful. The small garden and pool area was relaxing. Our suite was up to a good standard and the restaurant was excellent.Overall, we had a very pleasant stay and are planning to go back next year.

Everything you could possibly wish for

For our first trip childfree in almost two years, I wanted somewhere special and Praia Verde Boutique hotel didn't disappoint. The design of the hotel makes for an eye pleasing experience all round, the staff is extremely friendly and really went above and beyond to meet our every need.
The smell of pine trees really makes you feel on holiday, that combined with a direct path to the beach and lush surroundings for a calming experience.
And finally the food at the restaurant was creative, healthy and delicious

Lovely idyllic hotel close to th perfect beach

Lovely small contemporary, chic yet very laid back hotel away from the hustle and bustle of the busy Algarve. We went in the end of July peak of summer but as the hotel only has 40 rooms did not feel crowded with the masses. The hotel is tucked away between two small towns within a residential area.

A lovely week's restful holiday!

We stayed here in mid June, and really enjoyed the time: the style and comfort of Praia Verde Boutique Hotel mark it out as special for us. Our suite on the 1st Floor gave us space and comfort, and lovely views of the pine forest and ocean from the balcony. The hotel interior has a stylish modern reception area, a very good restaurant (though after a few days we ran out of choices, but the wines were excellent!)and a lounge/terrace. The gardens, pool area and bar near the pool are very pleasant to relax in. The staff were always very friendly and helpful to us. One thing to note: the beach (absolutely stunning!)is about 700 metres away on foot, and there are no shops nearby: unless you hire a car or bikes it is not easy to get away for trips to sites elsewhere.

The hotel was exactly as it appeared in the advertising and didn't disappoint. Staff were friendly and helpful and our room was beautifully appointed and clean. The restaurant, whilst quite expensive, was open for long hours allowing lazy breakfasts and relaxed meals, especially when we arrived late at 10 o'clock at night.There was never a problem with availability of sunbeds at the pool as the hotel has a small number of rooms, and the pool was a lovely peaceful relaxing place to be with the pool bar close to hand and beautifully set out amongst the pine trees. Our only 'complaint' was the lack of amenities in the kitchenette....it has the bare essentials. A kettle and toaster would have been good additions. We will definitely return the next time we need to recharge the batteries.

A fantastic Portuguese gem of a hotel

Off the typical tourist radar, this hotel, close to the Spanish border, is a great place to stay. Very comfortable, the staff are very warm and friendly and do their best to make you feel at home.
The four of us (two adults and 7 and 4 year olds) stayed in a sea view family suite with the 7 year old on a sofa double bed and the 4 year old in a (big) cot! Everyone slept well, and had enough space to move around with the sofa bed always open.
At breakfast, the whole family loved the freshly squeezed orange juice, fresh fruits and home baked bread. The coffee not so much. Top tip: better stick with the nespresso machine in the room but remember to pick up some capsules from a nearby supermarket (5 mins drive).
Nice swimming pool with bar area for lunch. Top tip: go for the pizza. Mmmm yummy.
All in all highly recommended.

Lovely hotel in a quiet residential area

Lovely stay in a Garden View Suite, clean rooms, daily maid service, complimentary rosemary water and biscuits every day. Very basic kitchen - appears that many people do not actually do \"self-catering\" however we managed just fine making light summer meals. Closest supermarket is a 6 euro-ish cab away but the hotel will organise a taxi for you. The hotel restaurant is very nice with a proper pizza oven, fresh pizzas made to order are delicious. Overall a lovely break.

The library experience

Whether our arrival was close to the season ending, for us it unfortunately did not have an atmosphere at night, unless you walked the dark walk at the back of the hotel, to the restaurants near the beach, we used our i torch to light the way...only to find the restaurants really quiet with no music to listen to or bars where you could sit and people watch....we did go to local towns but again, it all came to an end by 11pm. Breakfast was a little poor in my opinion, the daily presentation of scrambled eggs were usually cold as well as the bacon and beans. The staff were friendly and accommodating, providing information etc. It's a shame the pool bar does not allow for drinks by the pool..quiet and lovely setting but just not for us?

Fantastic hotels!!

I have to say this was one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in. The staff were absolutely second to none! nothing was too much trouble for them. Great touches like sweets for the kids and fruit in the room, the free wi-fi, and the fantastic bean bags by the pool. We were there is peak season and not once could we not get sat by the pool....which is great considering there was only 20 or so loungers and bean bags. The hotel had a real personal feel, the manager came round to talk to the guests and make sure everything was to your liking, and the staff seemed to speak every language! One girl spoke 8 languages fluently!! Overall I cannot recommend this hotel higher. We stayed in the garden view suite, 2 adults and 2 kids....the view was lovely (although I would suggest 1st floor and not ground due to the trees below, might be a little shaded!) Not that it bothered me as we were on the first floor and the view was a treat! The room was very well equipped too. The kitchenette had everything from cork screw to napkins! Will definately go back. The beach was a 7 minute walk, and a couple of nice restaraunts within walking distance although the deck bar at the hotel was great too! We had a car so travelled around and saw the local area.....20 minutes and you are at the ferry across to Spain for ice creams too!

A Comfortable and Enjoyable Stay!

Double bedroom plus a lounge and a kitchen, large balcony. Well designed.
The staff were very helpful (Reception, Cleaners and the Waiters).
Large and tasty breakfast buffet selection (both hot and cold).
Only a 5 minute walk to the beach.
You can use a swimming (infinity) pool very close to the beach in addition to the one by the hotel.
A couple of nice restaurants very close by overlooking the beach at reasonable prices (extensive fish selection).
Very good for families and couples.
It is a quiet and peaceful area, so would recommend you hire a car to see more of the area. 3 minute drive to a supermarket, 20 minute drive to Tavira or to Spain.
Plenty of parking available.
The wifi internet is only 1.50 Euros per day in the reception / breakfast area.

Very quiet location, lovely hotel

A lovely hotel, which requires you to have a car, as it is in the middle of nowhere. Bus links are there, but hotel staff dont seem to know about them really. Very quiet. A lovely beach five mins walk from hotel, a couple of restaurants, one really good, if quite expensive. Nothing else opens until June so not a spring or autumn break location. Great little towns nearby, such as Olhao, Tavira ( quite a drive away) and you can get a bus to Villa Real then a ferry across to Spain, where the shoe shopping is good. If a kind Dutch couple hadnt taken pity on us, we would have been stuck in the hotel for a week not knowing how to get anywhere (internet was not working and hotel did not privide information about surrounding area and what it was possible to do.) or with anything to do during a week when it poured with rain and/or was cloudy and rainy! Lovely suites well appointed, comfortable, spotlessly clean, and well serviced. Very pleasant hotel staff, lovely breakfasts, nice pool.

JUST ONE NIGHT

We were pleasantly surprised to discover we had reserved a fully equipped \"suite\" and commented to each other it would be ideal for a few days golfing as it was virtually \"self catering\".
The nearby restaurant recommended to us by your front desk staff was extremely good value.
I have already given your name to a friend who is planning a visit next month.

Dejligt hotel booket i forbindelse med en golfturnering tæt på. Vi havde 4 overnatninger og elskede hver og en.
Super anbefaling fra os, specielt personalet omkring restauranten og baren var enestående.
Håber livets vej fører os tilbage hertil 😀

Wonderful hotel but mainly for families

Great hotell, beautiful surroundings and amazing service from staff incl. wonderful yoga teacher.

However, even if this looks like a adult hotel, the guest are mainly young families, and there are lots and lots of them.
