The hotel is in beautiful surroundings, it's clean and warm and the staff are very helpful. Only a few things spoiled our stay. Dead flies on the windowsill beside our restaurant table, which we had to ask them to remove and a lasagne which had no pasta sheets in it, at all. Just cheese and a sweetish ragu sauce. The worst part, though, was the room we were in. Clean and confortable beds but we were in room 8, right outside the kitchen, which meant we heard clattering plates, loud voices and a loud, vibrating hum from the fan outside the kitchen, which dominated the room until it was switched off, just before 10pm. It then started up again just before 7am, which was an unexpected wake up call. I asked the man in reception about the fan noise before we went in for dinner and he just waved us off saying "it's only on while the kitchen is open".
I would stay again on the proviso that we didn't get room 8 and we went out for a meal. Overall, we had a good night at the hotel, just unfortunately let down by a few things.

Room clean and tidy unfortunately we ended up with the end room with view of bins and bike store room on first floor dinner was lovely breakfast was ok missing a couple of breakfast choices but was ok hotel was busy with a coach group in for afternoon tea and a cycling group who stayed overnight overall quite a nice stay for our one night

This is a very interesting rural hotel that has excellent potential. However, a lack of staff hold it back. While it appears that the staff care and hustle, there just aren't enough of them to wait at table for all the guests, resulting in significant delays. Also, one of the lights in the room did not work (but it was late when we figured that out, so we didn't report it). The bathtub is slick and dangerous and difficult to get out of because of its depth and width (deep and narrow). I recommend a handrail on the wall to assist.

There is plentiful parking at the property and the surroundings are lovely, being situated between Blairgowrie and Atholl. At night it was quiet and while the operable windows are not quite operable in our room, fresh air is available.

This hotel was amazing. It is abit out of the way and we were unsure what we were going to get. The hotel was beautiful and clean, the staff were absolutely lovely, the meals were cooked to order and delicious, especially the breakfast. It was hands down the best hotel we have stayed in all thru Ireland and Scotland and ourstanding value for money.Do yourself a favour. Thankyou so much for our stay.

Had a good 2 night stay here. Hotel on outside doesn't do the interior justice. It was a very comfortable room with a beautiful view of the river. All the food was excellent. Breakfast made freshly to order and a great selection at dinner. Service really efficient. Would be good if the outside was painted and the entrance made more appealing.

Great dog friendly hotel. Very comfortable and food was excellent. Large portions, very reasonable priced. Staff very friendly and efficient.
Had never taken our 8 year old dog to a hotel before and wasn’t sure how well he would cope but the hotel is very heated up for dogs and our stay was very relaxed.

A perfect base for a few days.
The cottage is right next to a road so can experience traffic noise at times. Nothing that a good set of earplugs didn’t solve.

Ok but not great all round

Stayed for one night in room 6 with our dogs. Found room large and suitable for us with the dogs also. Went to restaurant in hotel for meal and was able to take dogs there also which is good. Food was a wide choice but all very salty ( I had Beef Bourgeon and husband had Vension casserole ) Found it quite pricey too for a standard meal with soft drinks only.

There is a lounge area to use which was good, this has a pool table, various couches etc and board games.

The negative part was the bathroom. Shower in bath which is ok if the shower works, it didn’t. There is not enough water pressure which made it impossible to use. This is a disappointment.

Over all not a terrible stay but not the best either.

This small hotel on the edge of the highlands was absolutely fine. Staff we polite and efficient. The information sheet on check-in was a useful and nice touch.

The restaurant was well presented and service efficient.

The room was clean and well equipped. Parking was plentiful.

I stayed prior to the Etape Caledonia road race in Pitlochry. I would recommend this hotel as an alternative to Pitlochry for this race as it works out far more economical for the weekend.

Golf week stay.

Things did not start too well when we were told that breakfast was served in ‘time slots’ and weren’t flexible. As we were golfing and had several early tee-times this arrangement was not ideal. We were offered ‘porridge pots’ as an alternative. However, the staff came to our rescue and created an extra slot so we did not go without breakfast. This was very much appreciated.

The staff where great, Chatty and friendly. The food was amazing, the evening meal was really nice and the breakfast was hearty., the location is quiet and with great views. The room was clean apart from some light dust on the bedside lights and the bath plug pop up did not work, this is a minor issue TV and WiFi in room was okay. There was a river side walk which was pleasant but not for faint heated as it there where falling trees falling over the trail in a couple of places

The service , the people were as friendly as always helpful and courteous.
The only issue we have is the bed. The mattress and frame of bed could be doing with an upgrade. The frame was creaking with every movement, the mattress has seen better days it was lumpy and uneven uncomfortable to sit on never mind sleep on.
We even tried to turn mattress top to bottom, which was slightly better.
I think it would be better if these were renewed as the hotel and staff were really helpful. The meals and drinks were a tad pricey (£7:50 for a glass of wine)but enjoyable nonetheless.

Good location for us as we were exploring the area, staff were very nice and helpful and friendly, food was good too(maybe a bit expensive as was the wine) but for what we paid for b&b it all evened itself out to a reasonable priced short break. Would certainly recommend this hotel. Might not be to the younger generations liking though.

Dinner was really good although my wife's chicken cordon bleu had a strange soggy coating. The waiter/barman was very forward and spent a good 5 mins standing by a nearby table just watching us eat. Thought it strange the bar closed at 10.45pm. Bed springs pinged when you moved on it. Found a discarded tissue down the back of the bedside cabinet.
Very dog friendly and some great dog walks very close to the hotel.

The room was stuffy, floor uneven and made bed slant slightly I appreciate it is and old building. Bathroom slightly smelt of sewage. Could hear pipe work being used for rest of building. Maybe just unlucky with room also food and drinks over priced in our opinion, compared to other hotels we stayed at during week
