Good location if you do not have a car. Ten minutes walk to bus line 1. Walking distance from the Mwasalat Azaiba bus station, the intercity station. Quiet location surrounded by many good, reasonably priced restaurants. Nice heated pool on rooftop with good views. The pool lost many little tiles, the water can be warmer for November. The rooms are luxurious, super clean and very well maintained. Nice views and good personnel. Check if your breakfast is included in the price. Nobody will tell you. Very good buffet breakfast. The best I had in Oman. The food is well cooked, good selection, super fresh and a real selfserve Nespresso machine. There is a large rooftop where you can have 360° views. You will find a well managed spa and a gymn near the pool.

Not a four star hotel at all!!!

This was an awful stay that forced us to check out after the first night because of the poor service experienced at the hotel. Check in was slow and we were told to sit and wait despite arrived almost two hours after check in. The room we were given did not have a bath as requested and were told to wait another hour to get the correct room. Arrived in the new room which did not have hand soap, hand towels or an extra blanket. Had to call all the options on the phone over 8 times before finally getting through to reception and requesting soap and extra blanket. We were brought soap and toothbrushes (???) and told they would come back with the blanket. Had to call again half an hour later because it didn't come. None of the restaurants were open for food and we were told they are not taking orders at the roof top cafe because of a function that evening.

The next morning we requested to cancel the second night and check out. The front manager Mr Nasser tried to offer us free things and upgrades to make our stay better but we just wanted to leave and head back to UAE. He told us he could not approve refunds and to wait to meet the hotel manager Mr Ebrahim at 12pm. We wasted half the day waiting for him and he didn't arrive. Then left the hotel to see the city and came back at 6pm and were told he's gone and can't see us.

Don't stay at this hotel. Overall poor service and response and we are still waiting on hotels.com and the hotel to sort out our refund for the second night.

Centara was once a good hotel. That is evident. But, at this stage, it's resting on its laurels. The rooms are nice and large, but housekeeping suffers. I killed a cockroach in the room, but the hotel never followed up with pest control, even after I had reported it. There's a nice pool on the roof, but it needs maintenance. The gym is quasi abandoned. Staff is inattentive and dismissive. They're not rude. They fake interest and never follow up on requests. A good manager will whip Centara into shape, but they need to have in place.

Where do I start. This is THE WORST hotel we have ever stayed. The whole hotel and hallways smell like dead fish. Our room was nasty. There was hair on our bed sheet and the pillow cases were stained. We asked to change our room. The new room wasn’t any better. There was a hole in our bed sheet and the shower drain wasn’t working properly. We ended up not taking shower at all. The washroom was not cleaned and it felt disgusting. We were missing hand soap and when given one, it was broken. The towels smelled like they haven’t been washed. I wouldn’t recommend thid hotel to anyone.

I enjoyed a wonderful stay at the hotel. The room was very spacious and beautiful, the spa was amazing and the staff were helpful and courteous.

The only issue I had was the hot water temperature was never hot, only lukewarm during my 4 day stay.

Aside from that I had a wonderful time and plan to stay at the Centara the next time I am travelling to Oman.

Fantastic, clean, modern, comfortable hotel. Certainly not the most central or interesting location (Ghana), but given that you need a car anywhere in Muscat, it kind of doesn’t matter. Located very near the Grand Mosque.

The rooms were perfect and the beds and linens were so comfortable. Can’t recommend enough, unless you are looking for a hotel with a bar and built in night life.

My husband and I were amazed by the breakfast included in our reasonable nightly room charge. The bountiful array of freshly prepared foods offered buffet style included a half-dozen foods of Thai origin, a half-dozen foods of Middle Eastern origin, and a half-dozen foods familiar to Americans or Western Europeans. Some of these changed day to day. We could choose among maybe 10 types of fresh breads and rolls, plus many types of cheeses, fresh fruits and vegetables. Various juices, teas and coffees were available. My husband, who has traveled extensively on business, declares that it was the best breakfast buffet he has ever seen.

This is not a 4 star hotel. We did not like it at all. This is why:
- the service was too slow;
- the towels were not white;
- the whole place smelled like a cheap perfume salon;
- the hotel is located too far from all tourist attractions.

The personal was very friendly though.
We will not stay there again.

Very modern, super friendly staff, spacious rooms. Good parking at front of hotel. A bit inconvenient to get around Muscat as it is far away from the old part of town. Having a car is essential. The area around the hotel is a tad under developed but that is not an issue. All in all would happily stay at this hotel again.

The staff are helpful and well trained. The rooms are comfortable. They had plumbing issues that I reported to reception. The only disadvantage is that with the solar system, the water isn't warm enough to my liking and the receptionists should inform the visitors on how to get hot water as of day one.

I was only here for a day, waiting for a flight.
The hotel itself is fine, the staff are helpful and polite the rooms are clean and the facilities are good. The only thing that was slightly off putting was the area. There are quite a few buildings around the hotel under construction... (not their fault of course) The price was great and i would stay here again in similar circumstances.

The hotel is real good value for the prize. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The only drawback is the location surrounded by buildings under construction even there is no noise to bother the guest. Otherwise really perfect.

A fairlynew hotel it seems which means its modern and fresh. But, the staff seem inexperienced check in was clunky at room was only equipped for 1 person not 2. Also the water system was faulty as hot water was intermittent. Im sure given time this will be a reliable hotel but not at the moment

Its a nice hotel, but too far from anything if you're a tourist. I travelled there during Ramadan so a no alcohol policy was in place (plan you're duty free). Otherwise the staff were great and organised whatever I needed travel wise.

I loved the coziness and cleanliness of our room. It had a small sofa and the bed was extremely comfortable. The shower was amazing! We didn't get a chance to use the spa services or the restaurant but both seemed great. The pool was perfect for my 6 year old daughter- on the small side but not in an uncomfortable way.

Clean place, poor breakfast buffet, small pool, they send me out the hotel about 5 min walk to get them change as I was have only 50 Omani riyals which was disappointing.
I called the reception telling them that I need 20 minutes after 12 to do the check out; but surprisingly the lady who replied refused initially, and after telling her that this is in acceptable it’s only 20 min..!! Agreed reluctantly.

I really liked the hotel, very well located, cleam room and friendly staff. The only problem I had was that the hotel is a non smoking hotel and one day I left the room and returned 2 hours later and it smelled as if the someone had smoked in the room while doing housekeeping. Other than that I highly recommend this hotel.

My stay was a quick weekend break away from the UAE. The hotel is comfortable, the rooms are spacious, the restaurants and food was excellent and reasonably price. All of the staff are very helpful and friendly. The pool area and gym facilities were great. The Hotel is located a short Taxi ride from the airport and the place was just what I needed for a short relaxing break.

BED BUGS!

BED BUG ALERT!!! DO NOT STAY HERE!! While the hotel and service was decent, I had the very unpleasant experience of being totally consumed by bedbugs while staying at the Centara - I even saw one of them! Now I have welts all over my body that are still developing 48 hours later...praying that none of these critters made it back in my suitcase. Reported to the manager and she simply apologized. Never in my life of travels have I had this happen - avoid at all costs!

Good hotel located just between the airport and the city center. The rooftop pool is a great addition, breakfast was nice. On the negative side, in one of the rooms we didn't have hot water, only tepid (even after waiting multiple minutes). Staff are friendly, but how much they can / want to help when you have general questions about Muscat is somewhat limited.

Read reviews on this hotel which were mostly positive. Unfortunately the hotel isn't close to any restaurants or main attractions of Muscat apart from one. So catching a cab everywhere was very expensive and offset the money saved from the cheap hotel. Facilities were average, breakfast was good.

Stayed for a week here with my sister and the hotel staff were all so friendly and professional. We had a great experience. We ordered a lot of room service and the food was pretty good for a good price. The spa, swimming pool and sun deck was amazing as well. The only thing is that wifi was not strong enough to connect any other video calls except for Skype (on VPN, no FaceTime or Snapchat). We also had friends around so not really picky about the location. It’s 5 mins drive from the Grand Mosque (cost us 5 OR one way by hotel taxi, which couldn’ve been a ripe off), about 7-10 mins to Azaiba beach (closest beach from here, cost 6 RO by hotel called taxi and 3 RO back from local orange taxi..)

Our room was nice and roomy. Bottled water provided every day. Staff was friendly and helpful. Workout room was small but nice. Hotel was easy to get to. It was a short drive to the Grand Mosque and the Grand Muscat Mall. They offer tours if you are interested at reasonable prices. We would definitely stay there again.

Great option near airport

Great for a one night stay while in transit. Clean and comfortable with friendly staff. Very convenient location for transit as it is only 15 minutes from the airport and 5 minutes by car to the Grand Mosque but far from most other sights/activities in Muscat. Several decent food options on the ground floor and rooftop.

Wonderful staff trained to international hospitality standards and super a/vac system too! The breakfast lacks variety, however. Also understand that the hotel is located in a semi-industrial section of the “new city” (as opposed to the much more evocative and picturesque old town). It will cost you at least a $15 taxi ride to get to either the old city or the malls in the new city.

We had a pleasant stay at this hotel. It has nice amenities and surprisingly good Thai food. The hotel is near the airport so made it easy as we had a very early flight. The staff was wonderful and quick to cater to our needs.

Foul madame on breakfast buffet served cold again!!! no under bowl heater!

New shampoo bottles are too big and the description is unreadable.

The WHB in the bathroom does not drain properly and crud is left is sink.

The Salmon Potato patties - one would expect to have a max salmon content because of description. At least 50/50. In fact it was 10/90 in favour of potato.

Overall not a happy stay.

Sold as an energy saving hotel, but every time a lift is called -the two lifts come to the floor!!!!

The coffee machine in breakfast buffet is very slow - can queue 10 minutes to get a coffee - why not just a hot pot of coffee for those in a hurry.

This afternoon I waited 30+ minutes to have my lunch invoice brought to me --- 5 staff were all chatting around the TILL and nobody was interested in the customer!!!

Beautiful and Serene!

This property is superb! The grounds alone are amazing, so beautiful and serene. The rooms are laid out well, lots of space to relax. The food was amazing, from breakfast to dinner, i had the best Pad Thai my last night there. The staff goes above and beyond and are so inviting. This property is a must if you are in Muscat!

Elegance at great value

Elegant and smart, this hotel stands out in a nondescript but rising neighborhood, just 15 minutes drive from the airport. Room was 5 star, and the exercise facilities in good working order. The spa is very good, very professional - just the right place to spend inside from the August heat.

Really nice stay here no complaints. The hotel is pretty new, has very nice and well appointed rooms, comfortable beds and the staff is all incredibly friendly and really want to make their guests happy. Excellent value as well. It is in an area kind of far from most things, but most of Muscat is like that. Overall I would not hesitate to stay here again!
