My daughter and I stayed here before her tumbling competition and it was a fantastic stay. The location is 10/10, amenities are great, and beds and pillows are comfy! Bonus - the rooms were fairly soundproof/hotel was quiet as we didn’t hear anything coming from the hall and we were just off the elevators. Would stay here again!

Overall had an alright stay, parking was extremely unpleasant as majority of the parking lot was full with work trucks and closed off to work equipment. The toilet in my room clogged twice and the second time I was given a plunger to deal with the situation myself. It seemed to be the only hotel available in the area. Would not recommend or stay again.

For the most expensive hotel in the area, I expected atleast the bare minimum.

The neighbouring parking lot had flickering lights which made my room look like a night club dance floor in the night. It was unbearable. The hallways were extremely noisy and I could even hear my neighboring rooms talk. Poor sound isolation. The shower bathtub was brown stained and the caulking around the entire bathroom was brown and dirty, which gave the entire bathroom a dirty look which was contrary to the photos.

There was a small fire on the upper floor from an oil spill from an hvac unit because guess what? The hotel had ongoing mechanical and roof reconstruction WHILE hosting guests. You could hear the roofers hammering nails starting at 9am. There was no evacuation plan from the staff and we couldnt even leave the parking lot because there was only one exit and the fire marshall blocked it.

Please stay away from this hotel until major renovation is done to it.

The room was relatively clean. There was tissue/toilet paper under the bathroom counter, on floor and something stuck to bottom of bathroom mirror (?toothpaste). Periodically in bed, would get slight odor...perhaps there had been a spill on carpet, but unsure. Unfortunately, I did not bring this to the attention to the front desk staff, as I was pressed for time.

When we first checked we were told it was a non smoking room and we would be charged if it smelled like smoke... Get to the room and it reeks of smoke. No thanks. They did switch us rooms no problem.
Our bathroom wall had a leak behind the toilet which put nasty water on the floors. The bathroom is also extremely small. Can't even open it shut the door if you sit on the toilet.
Overall it was okay but needs maintenance.
The staff was friendly. Breakfast was okay.

The location was great. Reception on arrival was not friendly and was rushed. It was not a great first impression. The pool area was small and there was not jacuzzi hot tub or sauna. This would have made it top notch. TVs need upgrading. There was only cable tv with few channels, no streaming, no Google Chromecast or screen sharing or options to purchase movies or sign into streaming apps. Basic washroom with no little luxurious like make-up remover wipes, q-tips, koosh or mouth wash. The toilet paper was too thin and not nice at all. Herbal tea options would have been nice instead of only orange pekoe. Porcelain mugs instead of throw away cups adds a more environmentally conscious touch. Even with only four floors the elevator was very slow. Breakfast could have used more options that were not meat related. Yogurt, granola and fruit, or steel cut oats with honey and cinnamon. Just a few ideas.

We have and had a 5 hr drive to Barrie . We have two young children 2 and 6 . Holiday Inn put us in a block with a wedding party that roamed the halls laughing and drinking in the halls until 4:30 am . This is such poor management. We did not get asked if we were with the wedding party upon our check in . Such poor management! We confronted the front desk in the morning ( 8:30 am ) and asked for some type of refund or discount and they told us there was nothing they can do because we purchased the room through a third party . So the Holiday Inn sub lets their rooms to third parties so they dont have to stand behind their policies and customer service? So the sign that is fastened to their building out front should say \" Second party rooms available \" ( emphasis on the Party ! ) Really? This is your excuse? LOL . If someone from your organization doesn't contact me to correct this fiasco that just happened, you will be decreasing sales in the near future. I can guarantee this . Thank you for this time to announce the unfortunate and inconsiderate time that I had at your facility that clearly states that I was at the Holiday Inn, in Barrie Ontario. Never again !

When I told the front desk they said because I booked through Travelocity a third party there was nothing that they could do. Totally unacceptable.

The bathtub was extremely slipppery!!! There was no rubber mat on the floor. My husband nearly fell while taking a shower. I couldn’t get myself out of the tub after a bath. My husband had to come and pull/lift me out with great difficulty. Someone will fall and injure himself one of these days and the hotel will be facing a lawsuit. They need to fix this dangerous situation !

Usually I don’t take time to write reviews but it’s important others know this about this hotel. Overall a 6/10. Suggest you book elsewhere if you can. Outside was nice, properly cared for. Quiet area and there are restaurants locally to eat at, walking distance.

I was there mid week and based upon parking lot seemed like a busy place. When I walked into my room there was a light damp/musty smell. The room was renovated except the bathroom floor, older style tiles and you could see dirt building up over time. Was mold/mildew at the corners where the tub meets the floor. Bathroom wall had stains. Hinges/metal hardware had some rust and corrosion. Bed was not comfy, like the mattress was past its life.
Bathroom fan always ran and AC unit was quite loud.

Could be some rooms not like this as other reviews are great it seems. I didn’t bother mentioning this to the Manager as I didn’t want conflict and I figured at the time other rooms just like this one. Hotel breakfast was okay, sausages didn’t taste good at all, either poor quality or not cooked enough. Coffee they had was pretty good. I paid $250 ish for my room but I felt it wasn’t worth it.

There was some very dirty and melted looking sheers on the window I did not want to touch.

The hotel itself had a few issues that influenced my review. 1) location; very busy noisy, 2) lack of parking space/uneven ground of lot - I was riding my motorcycle, and 3) the age of the building was showing everywhere. My little fridge was on its last leg, bathroom wasn’t fully cleaned before hand. I had an expensive King Suite. It was much too expensive for the room. The breakfast was decent. The coffee was tasty, but the staff made the stay enjoyable. They went above and beyond. They were surely the best part.
