The property was ok. However when we got there my companion I was with (who is disabled) had to go to bathroom after we had just drive 1.5 hours. The girl at the desk stated we had to wait to get into our room to use bathroom. There was absolutely no bathrooms in or near main lobby. Our room was on the second floor and there was no elevator. When my companion got to room up the stairs the toilet did not flush and was dirty. We did get our room changed but again girl at desk not helpful. On our way home a housekeeper girl helped us with luggage down the stairs. She was awesome. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Oh and there was salad dressing left in fridge from a previous person.

It looks like the property is being improved from the front entrance/foyer of the hotel, but feels incomplete with the bare white walls....summarizing our experience below:

Positives:

- ample parking
- helpful staff
- hotel close to the 400 highway
- cost via expedia for a king room was great value

Negatives:

- hot water from tap and tub initially ran copper/rust colour
- it took about 10mins for the colour to fade and clear out....the shower took 15 mins to get any hot water during this process
- our room had a mini fridge where the freezer froze into a block of ice and could not be opened properly due to the fridge sitting in a metal tray to catch any of the outfolow of thawing water...you had to lift up the fridge to open the door and that caused all of our food/drinks inside to tip over and cause a mess
- with the above water issues...the bathroom sink/tub/curtain were water stained with the copper/rust
- sink drain stopper was broken and left sitting in sink unrepaired
- pictures of pool and rooms does not reflect the overall size or feel of where you are staying

Overall this was for business purposes and not a huge issue. I would not recommend to a family or guests who care about the above details. The water issue was very offputting.

Didn't eat breakfast to many druggies hanging around tweaking out hot tub not in order. Someone else's hair between sheets in the bed. Stained bed sheets. Staff was rude. Bathroom were dirty. Water ran orange. Pool was the only somewhat okay but only 4 chairs to sit in pool area. Not very family friendly or people friendly hotel.

Booked a double queen room, got a king with pull out couch. Asked front desk to be corrected they said they would refund me and I could go else where which is not helpful since I booked this months in advance.
Health unit shut down the hot tub after we arrived and saw other guests in the hot tub. Maintenance employee seemed unbothered by the situation.
Rooms were held together with painters tape.

Don’t waste your money - stay else where.

Great stay! Lubna at front desk was exceptional! So helpful and friendly!!!! Pool was heated but a little cloudy. Breakfast starting at 6am was a plus because we were there for a dance comp with early mornings. My daughter thought the Waffles and sausages at breakfast were delicious and the kitchen staff was also friendly and helpful. Room was clean and check in and check out were a breeze.

The staff was great. We got there well before check in because we had to work that day and they found us a room although there was a $50 early check in which the room wouldn’t be occupied all day so I don’t see the need in that. The blackout curtains didn’t work in the room we had to use a pants hanger to keep them closed and after a day of being out in Barrie our room wasn’t made up the hot tub was more of a warm tub which I don’t know if it’s just because we went there later in the night. Overall mediocre experience but great staff.

The staff are extremely helpful. But our door to our room looked like it had been kicked in and was not very secure door frame was not fixed. Shouldnt of used that room until fixed properly. The windows and walls need to be cleaned. There was a couple of girls screaming and running though the building until about 3 am didnt get much sleep.

The room absolutely reeked of cigarette smoke and the hot tub was cloudy. The shower did not drain, and the faucet was partly out of the wall. The door you could see through the outside and looked extremely strange. Front desk staff was really nice.

The breakfast was decent. Eggs, sausages, waffle maker, selection of bagels/bread with a toaster available. There was yogurt, muffins, cereal and fruit. Coffee and juice was available as well. Staff was very friendly. We didn’t use the pool or hot tub. The rooms were decent. Beds were comfortable enough. The bathroom was in need of some repairs (wallpaper peeling, the caulking in the bathtub has definitely seen better days). However, for the cost it’s definitely worth it. We were only there for one night so it was fine.

The heating didnt work in our rooms. The night we stayed there is was -20 outside and we had no heating at all. We went to the desk and all they did was give us blankets. We slept dressed and kept our outdoor coats on! The breakfast was not the best neither. Toast , baguels and that was pretty much it. It was also very akward since the breakfast nook is a small space and the guy who fills up the breakfast and does the washing was just standing there watching you.

Barrie is a quaint little town with many shops, restaurants and sights to see. CFB Borden is really close by. We enjoyed seeing the base with all of it's history and well made Museum.
We will definitely visit again.
As far as the hotel, the bed was super comfy, the walls aren't paper thin. It was very convenient being on the 1st floor and having sliding patio doors.
I very much enjoyed the hot tub and tub in the room!!

As soon as we walked through the doors we were hit by the smell of marihuana and even worse throughout the hallway to our room. I confirmed with the guy at the front desk that it was a smoke-free hotel and all he said is that he didn’t know what that was and did confirm that it was smoke-free. We had one bath towel and one to step out of the shower. Went to the front desk to get more but he didn’t have any face cloths. There is rust around the bathtub, a baseboard missing in the washroom, the plaster is peeling off the ceiling. The screws that hold the latch on the doors were all loose. All I can say that was good is that the beds were comfortable but I was also very tired after a long day of travelling. Will not be booking there again and will definitely not suggest this hotel to anyone.

I rarely write negative reviews, but unfortunately this stay at the Days Inn in Barrie was very disappointing.

The room condition was far below what I would expect from even a basic hotel. The door jamb was broken and the paint around the trim looked inconsistent and poorly done. The back of the bathroom door was very dirty and the paint appeared uneven.

When I arrived the room was freezing. I turned on the heat but it did not improve for over an hour, only to discover the window had been left open about a foot with no screen. Even after closing it, the room took roughly three hours to warm up.

Cleanliness was a major concern. Under the bed had clearly not been vacuumed, especially along the wall near the headboard. The duvet cover had visible mold, there were hairs in the sink, and mold in the bathtub. The windowsill and track were extremely dirty, and both the inside and outside of the windows were covered in grime.

There were also safety concerns. The extra security lock on the door was broken and could easily be pushed open, which is unacceptable.

Overall this was a very poor experience due to the condition of the room, lack of cleanliness, and basic maintenance issues. I hope the hotel addresses these concerns.

Didn't do the breakfast, but from what I saw when we were checking out at 9AM....it was chaotic. The breakfast area is extremely small, it was not handling the amount of guest traffic eating. Very congested. Overall, clean room, reasonable price. Staff were polite.

There were teams staying there, and the children were running and screaming for hours! Beginning at 7am. Nobody did anything about it. Will not stay there again. Again the staff were very nice! The pool was freezing but clean and the hot tub was warm but dirty. The first room we had the tv didn't work, the heater struggled to get the room warm at all and it stunk of stale cigarette smoke. Our 2nd room was much better although there was a weird mushy spot in the hallway right in front of our door. I didn't notice the cigarette smoke smell until on our way back from breakfast when it smelled like someone was actively smoking in the hallway.
