The staff are extremely helpful. But our door to our room looked like it had been kicked in and was not very secure door frame was not fixed. Shouldnt of used that room until fixed properly. The windows and walls need to be cleaned. There was a couple of girls screaming and running though the building until about 3 am didnt get much sleep.

The room absolutely reeked of cigarette smoke and the hot tub was cloudy. The shower did not drain, and the faucet was partly out of the wall. The door you could see through the outside and looked extremely strange. Front desk staff was really nice.

The breakfast was decent. Eggs, sausages, waffle maker, selection of bagels/bread with a toaster available. There was yogurt, muffins, cereal and fruit. Coffee and juice was available as well. Staff was very friendly. We didn’t use the pool or hot tub. The rooms were decent. Beds were comfortable enough. The bathroom was in need of some repairs (wallpaper peeling, the caulking in the bathtub has definitely seen better days). However, for the cost it’s definitely worth it. We were only there for one night so it was fine.

The heating didnt work in our rooms. The night we stayed there is was -20 outside and we had no heating at all. We went to the desk and all they did was give us blankets. We slept dressed and kept our outdoor coats on! The breakfast was not the best neither. Toast , baguels and that was pretty much it. It was also very akward since the breakfast nook is a small space and the guy who fills up the breakfast and does the washing was just standing there watching you.

Barrie is a quaint little town with many shops, restaurants and sights to see. CFB Borden is really close by. We enjoyed seeing the base with all of it's history and well made Museum.
We will definitely visit again.
As far as the hotel, the bed was super comfy, the walls aren't paper thin. It was very convenient being on the 1st floor and having sliding patio doors.
I very much enjoyed the hot tub and tub in the room!!

As soon as we walked through the doors we were hit by the smell of marihuana and even worse throughout the hallway to our room. I confirmed with the guy at the front desk that it was a smoke-free hotel and all he said is that he didn’t know what that was and did confirm that it was smoke-free. We had one bath towel and one to step out of the shower. Went to the front desk to get more but he didn’t have any face cloths. There is rust around the bathtub, a baseboard missing in the washroom, the plaster is peeling off the ceiling. The screws that hold the latch on the doors were all loose. All I can say that was good is that the beds were comfortable but I was also very tired after a long day of travelling. Will not be booking there again and will definitely not suggest this hotel to anyone.

I rarely write negative reviews, but unfortunately this stay at the Days Inn in Barrie was very disappointing.

The room condition was far below what I would expect from even a basic hotel. The door jamb was broken and the paint around the trim looked inconsistent and poorly done. The back of the bathroom door was very dirty and the paint appeared uneven.

When I arrived the room was freezing. I turned on the heat but it did not improve for over an hour, only to discover the window had been left open about a foot with no screen. Even after closing it, the room took roughly three hours to warm up.

Cleanliness was a major concern. Under the bed had clearly not been vacuumed, especially along the wall near the headboard. The duvet cover had visible mold, there were hairs in the sink, and mold in the bathtub. The windowsill and track were extremely dirty, and both the inside and outside of the windows were covered in grime.

There were also safety concerns. The extra security lock on the door was broken and could easily be pushed open, which is unacceptable.

Overall this was a very poor experience due to the condition of the room, lack of cleanliness, and basic maintenance issues. I hope the hotel addresses these concerns.

Didn't do the breakfast, but from what I saw when we were checking out at 9AM....it was chaotic. The breakfast area is extremely small, it was not handling the amount of guest traffic eating. Very congested. Overall, clean room, reasonable price. Staff were polite.

Staff was great, room smelled like cigarettes, tub faucet leaked, water from tap was brown, tiles falling off, bed was comfortable and linens were clean. Breakfast was decent. There were teams staying there, and the children were running and screaming for hours! Beginning at 7am. Nobody did anything about it. Will not stay there again. Again the staff were very nice! The pool was freezing but clean and the hot tub was warm but dirty. The first room we had the tv didn't work, the heater struggled to get the room warm at all and it stunk of stale cigarette smoke. Our 2nd room was much better although there was a weird mushy spot in the hallway right in front of our door. I didn't notice the cigarette smoke smell until on our way back from breakfast when it smelled like someone was actively smoking in the hallway.

If you want a decent nights sleep, DON'T stay here!! You can hear the people walking on top of you, you can hear everything from the hallway. People having races down the hallway at 2am. Heard from past customers that the last time they were there a girl was being halled off by police. The sink holds the water in just like the tub holds in the water when you shower. They took out the lamp and an alarm clock betweer the two beds. The lamps were lacking light bulbs, the soap, shampoo, and conditioner were very low and had no conditioner. There are soft spots on the floor. The hot tub was great IF you didnt have to get out every 5 minutes to turn it back on. Most hotels have their timer for 15 minutes.

The hotel is very tired and in need of repair. The tiles at the front entrance are cracked and a risk for falling. When we checked into our room we wanted to watch the Olympics but the TV remote control was broken. It was taped together When I expressed concern they took the remote and later returned it with more tape on it. It still didnt work. The fridge freezer was all frosted up and unuseable. So we were given another room.The TV worked but the fridge was in worse condition. It was frosted up and didnt have any shelves. Also my grandson swam in the pool and got an ear infection. So overall we were not happy with our stay that cost over$200. And to top it all off when we looked at our visa we were charged an extra $30. When we x alled and asked why they said there were stains on the sheets and so they charged us for replacment of a fitted sheet They would not reimburse us,gave us an email of a manager who I will contact. I think I should be compensated for all of our troubles

Honestly it's a basic 2 star hotel but if you're looking for a clean, comfortable place to stay in Barrie with a good breakfast; this meets those needs. The breakfast is good but gets busy early. We were downstairs by 7:10am because it was family day weekend and we knew it would be busy. There was a huge line as we were leaving at 9:15am.

Where to begin... worst hotel I've ever been to, don't waste your money anywhere else is probably better
We booked our stay to have a night away from the kids. Thought we would be able to relax, use the heated pool and the complimentary breakfast. None of these happened! The main entrance to the hotel is also lunchroom also party room/ hang out area. When we came in the hotel, there were 30 kids and adults partying in the lobby, couldnt even hear the receptionist. Kids running down the hall with no adult supervision. Found out our room was bo

three doors down from the main lobby. We asked to be relocated to another room, receptionist wouldnt allow it. We werent able to sleep the whole night from the amount of noise. Drunk roudy people screaming and walking down the halls at 3 am in the morning. No management in sight. Lots of people complained but nothing was done.The room we stayed in was nothing special. The shower was worse than a garden hose. The walls and curtains were dirty. There were red stains on the wall, dont want to know where they came from. Save your money and go somewhere else!

They put us in a hall where tournament families were. Hours and hours of children running up and down the halls... worse was the partying adults in the hall once their disaster children went to bed. All hohrs of the night and the hotel didnt do anything. Why out us in a wing with kids? Why lermit partying in the halls? You should have to disclose if you are runnkng a tournament and you should save a quit wing for regular people. I am so annoyed. Never doing days inn again. Its over. You have parties in your halls. Not good for sleeping.
