Comfortable stay at Monte Carlo Inn in Barrie. Parking was getting full quick but I found a good spot. I enjoyed the big screen TV in my room and the bed was very comfortable. At breakfast however, the staff told me I can’t bring food upstairs to my room, but I was told previously (when I checked in) that I can, the front desk staff she said I can bring the china plates and cutlery upstairs and leave it in my room at check-out, instead of having to bring it back to the restaurant. This was very disappointing for me, as I wanted to bring the breakfast to eat later in the morning because I had to go to sleep. So I had to stay in the dining room and stuff myself with food when I wasn’t that hungry. I think it’s a terrible way to treat your customers that way. Actually the breakfast staff said she’ll double check with the manager and the manager was strict and said I can’t bring the food upstairs but had to eat it in the dining room. Other hotels allow for us to bring the breakfast food upstairs. I will be booking another hotel like the one beside (or a few doors down) Monte Carlo Inn next time! I stayed at Days Inn before and they let me bring breakfast upstairs to my room! So I recommend Days Inn over Monte Carlo (unless they change the policy or have a nicer manager look after the breakfast room).

The hotel is a little dead but the staff were very nice and friendly. I enjoyed the room but location was perfect for what I needed. I would definitely stay again.
If you're looking for luxury, this isn't it. This is a nice down-to-earth Hotel. Bed was pretty decent. Room was quite large.

The website and descriptions were deceiving. We got The Queen sweet, the pictures made it look much bigger and cleaner. The \"free continental breakfast\" did not include hot food, it costs extra to include any eggs, bacon or sausage. Room service did not remake the bed, or fill any toiletries or soap dispensers. The jacuzzi was dirty around all the jets and the room smelled as though the carpet had not been cleaned in a long time. Other than that it was a good location for an affordable price, we just wish they would have been more honest about what we were getting.

Room was fine, a bit dated, but clean and functional. for our 1 night stay.
The only thing that really left an impression was the poor coffee station in the room.
Cups provided were paper, only enough coffee for 1 person so the other person would have to have decaf. Creamer was powder.
Those things wouldn’t have been so bad, but when I made my coffee it was like I made it the curdled milk. Looked horrible and therefore didn’t even try it.
It’s a small thing but if you get the coffee right it makes all the difference to one’s stay.
Thankfully the coffee downstairs at breakfast was decent.

Monte Carlo is a good hotel for a short stay. Breakfast was ok, but a little limited. It is reasonably quiet, but that can vary with level of noise that emanate from diverse patrons.

The room smelled of stale cigarettes. The hot tub was beautiful but not that clean. They charge 25.00 for the use of an old pack and play which is absurd. Charging families for a bed for their baby is such a money grab and gross.

The fridge was noisy at night. The breakfast is terrible. Do not get breakfast here unless you want to ruin your stay. They need to stop offering it. The staff in the restairant have no idea what they are doing. Everyone in the breakfast area was looking for napkins, or a plate, or a fork, or anything. I cannot put into words how awful that experience was. Everyone at the front desk who had breakfast told the front desk they need to get rid of it to which they replied its not their call to make that decision.

The rooms were good. Spacious and met our needs especially the family suite. Pack n plays were in good condition. Pool needs a good clean. The pool sides have not been done in some time. Breakfast was busy and got bogged down at the toaster. Need another toaster or a fast continuous feed toaster.

Toaster was slow and old, tables were not cleaned in-between sittings, and items were limited and selections seemed like the cheapest possible selections from purchasing.
Exterior of hotel is close to major highway and construction - therefore making it loud in the front facing rooms.

Glad it got updates recently. King suite with jacuzzi in bedroom is nice my baby and my husband really enjoy that after a day of skiing and snow tubing. Water pressure and hot water is great after a day in the snow.
Will return again if we visit Barrie location again. . Except one staff member is a big of a grumpy face at the main counter. Since we check in and check out she was rude to her co worker. Other than that all the stuff smiled and was ll welcoming even when we walked in the halfway and wa children friendly to my baby. Unfortunately we only got to stay one night since our room was not available for 2 nights at the time of our online reservation. So we had to stay elsewhere in Barrie the next day.

We stayed in the jacuzzi suite which was perfect for a cold winter's day. It was a beautiful bit of luxury and had a fireplace as well. I was a little undewhelmed by the upgraded breakfast we paid extra for. They used no seasonings at all so it was very bland. Next time I might have just stayed with the continental, but totally would stay here again if looking for an extra special room to share with my spouse.

The room was clean, front desk staff was friendly. Some highway noise and sounds from other rooms. The included breakfast was pretty bare-bones, just bread/cereal/juice/yogurt unless I wanted to pay $8 for the \"premium\" option. Staff could use better training on what to do in case of emergency, though. The fire alarm went off and guests had to evacuate, and staff didn't seem to know what procedures were.

The coffee make was dirty and also had water in it with stuff floating around.
The hair dryer had dirty lint in it impossible to remove with towel.
The bed and pillows were wonderful. The height and medium firmness of the pillows were very good for my neck. The mattress had the Goldilocks \"just right\" firmness with flexibility enough to be comfy too.
The sheets, towels and towel robes were pristine and very good.
The coffee tea choices were very low quality.
The staff person are warm, engaging and professional, top notch. One lady, name starting with a J was proactive trying to find me either a kettle or thermos style jug to put boiling water into since my coffee machine was wretched, but there wasn't any. However, she tried.
The so-called \"free breakfast\" was not fit to break the fast except perhaps, though not recommended even for a starving person. There was extremely dry, flavourless bread, horribly unhealthy and from other's remarks poor tasting dry cereal. No alternative to cow milk. Very bad tasting coffee, very dry, rather unpleasant tasting, mini pastries. That was about it. Basically nothing okay to eat. From other people's openly expressed dissatisfaction about the breakfast, I think my opinion is fair. Some people went in, saw it and left before taking anything.

They offered “ FREE Continental breakfast” but is not true, you HAVE TO PAY.
Clean but the atmosphere and staff does not look happy at all.

We were excited to enjoy the luxury suite room however the jetted tub in the room was old and dirty with leftover hairs stains and dirt. We had to buy our own cleaning supplies and do a deep clean before feeling like it was sanitary to use. Upon checking in we noticed there were a lot of children running around so we asked to be situated on a floor away from the children. They ended up putting us into a room right beside the whole group of children than kept us up until midnight yelling, banging on doors and walls etc in the corridor.—I had to call down to the front desk to request that someone ask the children to quiet down. We ended up feeling very unrested in the morning after hoping for a relaxing weekend get-away.

I’m quite disappointed for how expensive the room was and would appreciate it if the hotel or Expedia would consider offering another free night or credit from the overall cost.
