We’ve stayed at a number of places in Fort Pierce and St. Lucie and The Hutchinson was one of the nicer ones. Beds were good, wi-fi okay, and everything worked well. Basic breakfast included in room cost. Washer and dryer on location. A couple of fun restaurants that are walkable. The best parts were the hotel’s small pool, private beach and fishing pier and the covered deck…great places to sit and relax. We’d stay again.

The pool and hot tub were dirty, green with actual dirt and grit floating around. When I asked, I was told the pool cleaner was coming later that day. So several of us went in with no choice, but we're very uneasy about it.

There is a beach but it's small and what they show as a picture on the website is not at all indicative of what it is. There are about 3 chairs and 1 lounger. ALL of which are broken.

Hotel is old and rundown, so are the rooms. All of this would be ok if the price they were asking was commensurate with the quality, but it was quiet a bit of money.

Location has access to restaurants and the public beach is only a few miles away.

We enjoyed staying here very much, including the pool and fun dock with tiki hut. The included breakfast was wonderful! We were also able to walk a couple properties over to “On the Edge”, a great water-side casual bar and restaurant with live music, which was very special.

No hot water. Couldn’t shower because water was ice cold. No advance communication regarding problem with hot water. No response to calls regarding no hot water complaint. WiFi and internet were also not working, intermittent. Staff was friendly but had no resolution to problems. Advise to call manager, left message, no return call. Should have been offered a refund of some sort.

This is 2 Star Hotel at best not a 3 Star hotel as claimed. The halls are filthy and the breakfast is beyond a joke - just pathetic, needless to say I never had the breakfast, wouldn’t dare. This hotel is way overpriced for the 2 Star condition it is in. Couldn’t wait to leave.

Although the hotel could use a facelift, and some superficial updating, it was clean, the bed was comfy, the staff were friendly and the location; right on the water with a beach, pool , hot tub and gazebo out on the water, was fantastic!

The property was in need of an update. There were visible stains on ALL the carpeting. There was visible mold in the bathroom. The walls need to be repainted. The sheets, blankets & towels were very thin, again need to be upgraded or replaced. In addition, upon check-out, we were charged a $15 plus tax, resort fee for each day! There were ZERO special amenities to qualify this as a resort! When I reviewed the fees I paid when booking, I see I already paid a property fee, so they basically double charged us for that fee! We do NOT appreciate that at all! Breakfast was ok but they were often running out of items and if you didn't go ask at the front desk, they would not replenish anything! Not the best place to stay and the cost INCREASED when they added the \"resort fee!\"

We stayed here because it was suggested by Jackie Robinson Training Complex we played a tournament at. I’ll start with the positive. The location is nice because you can fish off the dock and the area is ideal for kids. However, the rooms are disgusting and the pool area was even more disgusting. Our room was dirty and outdated. Mildew around the sink, bathtub did not drain during a shower, hair on the ceiling, crappy bedding and two different sized beds. It’s like the place was pieced together with whatever furniture they could find. The nerve to charge what they are charging per night is robbery. Hot tub was green and slimy. I wouldn’t let my kids in it after the first day. They put an out of order sign after one of the team parents complained about it. Hotel staff is rude and not helpful at all except the woman behind the desk. She was the only helpful person. I asked for my room to be cleaned after being there for 3 days and got an attitude. If you are playing at Jackie Robinson and MLB suggests this place to stay at, steer clear. Find another place on the beach or stay closer to the complex.

My cousin and I checked in at around 10:30pm on 1/30/26. The property was a little run down but the evening desk staff was very nice. It was late and I was too tired to say anything about the condition of the property.

On 2/1/26, our first full day there, I attempted to take a shower and no hot water came up. They called maintenance, the technician came up, and he told us that the reason we had no hot water was because laundry was being done. I could not even believe this was the reason there was no hot water and how it was said to me as though it was a normal occurrence.

I approached the front desk agents in tears because I traveled there from Massachusetts for a family death and my cousin and I didn't have anywhere to go or any extra money to pay for a stay somewhere else.

After convincing them that I had no extra money and nowhere to go, and that this was no way to be treated by (what was supposed to be) a highly-rated resort, they issued me a refund for my remaining two days and we checked out.

I was able to find us a room at a different property that turned out to be absolutely spectacular, so I suppose this was all a blessing in disguise. However, my rating of the Hutchinson Island Hotel is still a terrible one.

The WiFi and hot water stopped working while we were there for 2+ days, maybe longer but we left to a new hotel. This was during the recent extreme cold snap and it was not possible to give the baby a cold bath or take an ice cold shower. Floors in the room were very dirty. They only sweep, they don’t mop. Your socks or bare feet will be completely black after your shower in 5 min walking around the room. The hotel needs updating in general. Phone didn’t work. Bad lighting, even with shade open and the lamp on it was still dark. Maybe to hide the dirt.

It was the worse sleep I’ve ever had in a hotel with noisy guests, a vacuum being used at 1 a.m., a guest loudly shouting and walking pass our room with no regard to others. This is my 4th time staying at this hotel due to being on the water with a private dock and beach. Location of hotel is great too, with quick access to many great food spots. The room was clean and parking was provided.
The reason I'm giving it 4 starts because it needs a little bit of updating. The carpet in the hallways were super stained and dirty. Our AC unit was super loud and was very unbearable when trying to watch tv at night. There was no sound proof to other rooms and the hallway; so you heard everything.

3 ladies behind counter, I wasn’t liking what I was seeing but spent 15 minutes to check in. After check in they told me I also had to pay almost $20 to park there. Spa water very cloudy so didn’t use. Coffee at breakfast was only warm but used microwave to heat. Then 2 days later I’m alerted to a fraudulent purchase on my cc for $79. Coincidence?

An Absolutely Horrendous Experience - Avoid at All Costs!

I wish I could give zero stars. We booked this hotel specifically for the hot tub, and it was broken the entire time with no warning. On top of that, the room was absolutely filthy—bloody sheets, blokady dirty towels, sand and hair on the Floors and not a single cleaning for eight days only towel change. They never changed the bedding made a bad or cleaned the floor once. It was absolutely disgusting.

And it didn't stop there. The so-called complimentary breakfast was a nightmare. Everything in the breakfast area was dirty and barely working. The coffee machine and the waffle machine were both out of order, and the single staff member who was supposed to handle everything was using her dirty hands—long nails and all—to pull out utensils from drawers. She was touching the parts of the spoons that go directly into your mouth, which was beyond gross. Everything was absolutely unhygienic and disgusting everywhere you turned.
There is a real problem with management at this hotel!!!

We expect a refund for this terrible experience. Avoid this hotel completely if you value cleanliness and basic decency.

Room was in need of updating. Hot tub was dark green and cold. We received an additional charge of $17.39 billed to our credit card after we left for “Resort fee”. This fee was buried deep in the Expedia app and not mentioned at the top in the cost figures (even though the app at the top said “total with cost and fees”). Apparently the charge is for parking which makes no sense since there was tons of parking and parking everywhere else on Hutchinson Island is free. FYI - “total with cost and fees” should mean “total with cost and fees”!

Room was as clean as it could be. Little cockroach in the bathroom. Excellent location, friendly staff. They have 24 hr access to a small beach, fishing dock, fruit coffee and tea. 12 pm late check out. You can’t beat that. For the price it’s good. Just a bit worn, so if you can rough it just for the extras it’s worth it. But be prepared, it’s well cared for just worn a bit.

Paid for a Premium room and got a standard (needs updating). I got it because the pricing was good. When I explained the room management really didn't seems concerned. Just told me that's what I was assigned by. I showed pictures of room advertised for premium and was told I could pay more to stay in a better room. We have been there 30 times and know what the rooms are like. We have been coming here for over 7 years. Staff is very friendly but the advertising on Expedia is misleading and not so sure we will be back.

The floor was so sticky and the laminate flooring had strips missing between planks. The bed sheets were clean and the bathroom had plenty of towels. I was put in a handicap accessible room, but there were no hooks or hanging options for mobile people/spouse/partner/companion. There were also no USB ports for charging devices. Teenagers were coming in and out of the downstairs and dock all night that even said out loud they weren’t staying there, and had more trucks and people take up the very limited parking under my balcony to fish the docks when they shouldn’t have even been there.
