Breakfast was simple but tasty, you were able to make perfect waffles every time. The property seems to be going through a refresh, the rooms are updated beautifully and they seem to be updating the hallways.
The pier was clean and well maintained, with a separate fishing and a lounging area with shade and relaxing chairs.

This is an absolute perfect setting Florida is a very large date in every part of Florida has its own charm I highly recommend soaking up and enjoying that charm in the Hutchinson Island Hotel the rooms are always extremely clean neat and they are renovating the hotel to constantly improve the guest experience

The biggest disappointment we had with this hotel, is the location. We booked the ocean view king suite, knowing it was in Fort Pierce. We had hoped to be able to see the sunrise in the morning from the balcony. Little did we know, it doesn't face the ocean or even face east!! The view is of the inlet. We should have checked the map closer, but highlighting ocean view is very misleading.

They need to replace housekeeping. Horrible jobs with cleanliness of the rooms I went threw 3 rooms trying to be considerate and all the bed sheets were filthy with stains and hair I was highly disappointed had high hopes since it was close to where I needed to be the next morning and so but it is what it is I’m much happier in a clean and well respected place. Good luck to you if u choose to stay there. They will never see my face again unless maybe under new management. Oh lady behind the counter had very good customer service and was very helpful throughout everything.

Room was clean enough, but some built-up grime was visible on the textured bathroom tile. The renovations that have been completed were nice (room flooring and furniture), but there is still work to be done. Old dirty hall carpets were actively being replaced during our stay.
No regular coffee on our first morning, but that was remedied for the remaining mornings. Bed was comfortable, but the jiggly-jello part made it hard to sleep if your partner moved. Ask for extra pillows.
Beach and pier were clean and relaxing. Pool was clean as well. Overall, I'd stay here again - especially if the renovation improvements continue.

It was not a bad hotel - but it was dated and older. It reminded me of an older hotel in a seaside town that has not been updated for some time. I did read they were doing some updates this Spring. The internet was very slow and cut off several times. The private beach was small - but was cute and nice. The pier was terrific. The staff was pretty nice. There was no screen on the sliding door so I couldnt leave it open and it was tough to regulate the temperature. There also was no extra blanket either but the bed was clean and comfortable.

It did the job. I wanted a hotel with a water view. Our room was clean and you could consider it updated but for $1500 for 4 days seemed a bit steep for that type of hotel. It’s a great spot on the water but don’t expect fancy. The hotel is old and there are carpets in the hallways that stayed dirty. I don’t think it was a lack of employees doing their job though. All the employees were great hardworking people. Those carpets need to go.

We’ve stayed at a number of places in Fort Pierce and St. Lucie and The Hutchinson was one of the nicer ones. Beds were good, wi-fi okay, and everything worked well. Basic breakfast included in room cost. Washer and dryer on location. A couple of fun restaurants that are walkable. The best parts were the hotel’s small pool, private beach and fishing pier and the covered deck…great places to sit and relax. We’d stay again.

The pool and hot tub were dirty, green with actual dirt and grit floating around. When I asked, I was told the pool cleaner was coming later that day. So several of us went in with no choice, but we're very uneasy about it.

There is a beach but it's small and what they show as a picture on the website is not at all indicative of what it is. There are about 3 chairs and 1 lounger. ALL of which are broken.

Hotel is old and rundown, so are the rooms. All of this would be ok if the price they were asking was commensurate with the quality, but it was quiet a bit of money.

Location has access to restaurants and the public beach is only a few miles away.

The property was in need of an update. There were visible stains on ALL the carpeting. There was visible mold in the bathroom. The walls need to be repainted. The sheets, blankets & towels were very thin, again need to be upgraded or replaced. In addition, upon check-out, we were charged a $15 plus tax, resort fee for each day! There were ZERO special amenities to qualify this as a resort! When I reviewed the fees I paid when booking, I see I already paid a property fee, so they basically double charged us for that fee! We do NOT appreciate that at all! Breakfast was ok but they were often running out of items and if you didn't go ask at the front desk, they would not replenish anything! Not the best place to stay and the cost INCREASED when they added the \"resort fee!\"

We stayed here because it was suggested by Jackie Robinson Training Complex we played a tournament at. I’ll start with the positive. The location is nice because you can fish off the dock and the area is ideal for kids. However, the rooms are disgusting and the pool area was even more disgusting. Our room was dirty and outdated. Mildew around the sink, bathtub did not drain during a shower, hair on the ceiling, crappy bedding and two different sized beds. It’s like the place was pieced together with whatever furniture they could find. The nerve to charge what they are charging per night is robbery. Hot tub was green and slimy. I wouldn’t let my kids in it after the first day. They put an out of order sign after one of the team parents complained about it. Hotel staff is rude and not helpful at all except the woman behind the desk. She was the only helpful person. I asked for my room to be cleaned after being there for 3 days and got an attitude. If you are playing at Jackie Robinson and MLB suggests this place to stay at, steer clear. Find another place on the beach or stay closer to the complex.

My cousin and I checked in at around 10:30pm on 1/30/26. The property was a little run down but the evening desk staff was very nice. It was late and I was too tired to say anything about the condition of the property.

On 2/1/26, our first full day there, I attempted to take a shower and no hot water came up. They called maintenance, the technician came up, and he told us that the reason we had no hot water was because laundry was being done. I could not even believe this was the reason there was no hot water and how it was said to me as though it was a normal occurrence.

I approached the front desk agents in tears because I traveled there from Massachusetts for a family death and my cousin and I didn't have anywhere to go or any extra money to pay for a stay somewhere else.

After convincing them that I had no extra money and nowhere to go, and that this was no way to be treated by (what was supposed to be) a highly-rated resort, they issued me a refund for my remaining two days and we checked out.

I was able to find us a room at a different property that turned out to be absolutely spectacular, so I suppose this was all a blessing in disguise. However, my rating of the Hutchinson Island Hotel is still a terrible one.

The WiFi and hot water stopped working while we were there for 2+ days, maybe longer but we left to a new hotel. This was during the recent extreme cold snap and it was not possible to give the baby a cold bath or take an ice cold shower. Floors in the room were very dirty. They only sweep, they don’t mop. Your socks or bare feet will be completely black after your shower in 5 min walking around the room. The hotel needs updating in general. Phone didn’t work. Bad lighting, even with shade open and the lamp on it was still dark. Maybe to hide the dirt.

This is my 4th time staying at this hotel due to being on the water with a private dock and beach. Location of hotel is great too, with quick access to many great food spots. The room was clean and parking was provided.
The reason I'm giving it 4 starts because it needs a little bit of updating. The carpet in the hallways were super stained and dirty. Our AC unit was super loud and was very unbearable when trying to watch tv at night. There was no sound proof to other rooms and the hallway; so you heard everything.

An Absolutely Horrendous Experience - Avoid at All Costs!

I wish I could give zero stars. We booked this hotel specifically for the hot tub, and it was broken the entire time with no warning. On top of that, the room was absolutely filthy—bloody sheets, blokady dirty towels, sand and hair on the Floors and not a single cleaning for eight days only towel change. They never changed the bedding made a bad or cleaned the floor once. It was absolutely disgusting.

And it didn't stop there. The so-called complimentary breakfast was a nightmare. Everything in the breakfast area was dirty and barely working. The coffee machine and the waffle machine were both out of order, and the single staff member who was supposed to handle everything was using her dirty hands—long nails and all—to pull out utensils from drawers. She was touching the parts of the spoons that go directly into your mouth, which was beyond gross. Everything was absolutely unhygienic and disgusting everywhere you turned.
There is a real problem with management at this hotel!!!

We expect a refund for this terrible experience. Avoid this hotel completely if you value cleanliness and basic decency.

Room was in need of updating. Hot tub was dark green and cold. We received an additional charge of $17.39 billed to our credit card after we left for “Resort fee”. This fee was buried deep in the Expedia app and not mentioned at the top in the cost figures (even though the app at the top said “total with cost and fees”). Apparently the charge is for parking which makes no sense since there was tons of parking and parking everywhere else on Hutchinson Island is free. FYI - “total with cost and fees” should mean “total with cost and fees”!
