La primera noche me pusieron en una habitación que tenía moho y olía a humedad, después de quejarme en la recepción y hablar con la señorita en reserva y decir que veníamos de Estados Unidos allí cambio el trato, decidieron cambiarnos a mejores habitaciones por \"cortesía\".

The room layout was perfect for a family of 4, with plenty of space and privacy. The breakfast was really good and the restaurant in house was great. Service was exceptional. Some of the appliances in the kitchen could use a modern update and the streaming services on the TVs would be preferred to Direct TV. But overall this was worth every penny and was a great location to enjoy many of Bogotá’s attractions.

The broom was spacious, clean and had great lighting. The bed was INCREDIBLE. Honestly I’ve never slept in a bed so comfortable, the blanket so warm and the pillows so huge. The breakfast was great. And the location was centrally located. I really appreciated that the front desk was keen on security.

Many Better Hotels For the Price

Stayed here 6 years ago and enjoyed it. Now it’s more rundown. And the price is up. No coffee or tea in the rooms although I had a kitchen with coffee maker etc.. No free water. They charged me $27 for the water I used that was in the fridge. It was a minibar charge. Absolutely ridiculous as there was no indication of charge. The maid stocked the fridge. I was also very surprised that the front desk does not speak English.

I stayed in one of the suites, and it was spacious and welcoming. The kitchen was stocked with cooking utensils, plates, bowls, and cups. The room maintenance was impeccable. Best of all, the room was quite affordable. I will definitely be staying here again next time I'm in Bogotá.

This was my fourth time staying at Hotel Vilar America. When I visit Bogotá, I always stay at this hotel. The location can't be beat.

The staff are professional, friendly, and always there to help if you have any questions. The hotel offers a fantastic breakfast at a very good value (I strongly recommend the eggs). The rooms are spacious and the bed is comfortable.

If it is your first time in Bogotá, I would recommend staying at Hotel Vilar America. You are just one block from la septima (7th avenue) and the neighborhood is safe and offers a lot to do in ways of bars, restaurants, coffee shops, etc. I plan to stay at Hotel Vilar America on my next trip to Colombia.

I enjoyed my visits to this hotel property. There are 2 buildings right across the street from each other that you should know. One morning was a little loud from the street but the others were not. The staff was friendly, helpful, and kind. The breakfast was delicious. I also had dinner one night in the main restaurant and it was fantastic. No issues with WiFi when I had to do a little work either. I felt it was easy to get a rideshare to/from the hotel and there were places within walking distance to visit where I didn’t feel unsafe either

Hotels.com needs to figure out what they’re doing!

I booked the most expensive suite with a wrap around balcony, the only reason I spent more was because of the balcony. Upon check in, was provided key, went to room and it was completely different than pictured. I went to front desk and said they gave me the wrong room with no balcony. The guy then said, you’re right that’s NOT the correct room, but your room had a pipe burst an hour ago, completely making this up, so obvious. Gave me no other option or money back for a prepaid room and just said it is what it is. I love balcony rooms that’s why I pay extra for the best room. Literally zero sympathy or care for the situation. Long time hotels.com and probably will never book again, plus I’m going to share my experience with the world on reviews because this just isn’t the way business is done. I have to warn other travelers that the room pictured isn’t what thru will get or any compensation for a prepaid option. TERRIBLE business, I have this linked with Expedia and I’ve lost trust in them. Last thing you want to deal with in another country. It’s my obligation to warn others this will happen to them

great location, great price!

i was really happy with the location, size and quality of the room!especially considering the great price. the neighbourhood is very safe/walkable with many food options. the room was much bigger than i expecyed and the breakfast had great options.
my only small issue was with shower temp/pressure. in order to have the water warm, i couldnt turn the cold tap on at all, so the pressire was very weak. however, i dont think thats the fault of the hotel, it may just be how it is in Bogota at the moment.
ivwould stay again in this hotel in a heartbeat. highly recommend!

The location was great. The staff was great. Our room was cleaned daily. Simple clean accommodation. No real amenities to speak of. Price was good for comparable hotels in the area. We rented a suite with a kitchen so we could cook some meals as my wife has allergies. Everything worked in the kitchen, but saying it was sparsely equipped would be giving it credit. There was no spatula for example there was only a ladle and slotted spoon to cook with, the only sharp knife was a bread knife, no cutting board. I understand almost nobody probably uses the kitchens but an occasional audit by the hotel to see if a guest could fry an egg would be nice. We didn't complain about it so it could be on us. I would still recommend this hotel for anyone looking to be in Chapinero.

Rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. The location is quite convinient and close to lots of dining options, shopping is a bit far but not unreasonably so. I stayed for a week and had a good time. My onlynegative experiences were an unrealiable wifi connections and when I ordered room services we asked for no tomatoes in one of our dishes but this was not taken into account. While minor also I would love for the breakfast shcedule for Sunday to apply to Saturday as well as I usually sleep in Fridays

Slept well with an interior facing room. Although small, the room had all amenities and was comfortable. Bed was comfy. Nice staff- walking distance to many great coffee shops and restaurants. I have been staying at this hotel for years and brought them a lot of business but quality of staff and how hey apply policies has gone down.guest Parking has been eliminated, they want you to charge fees for everything. They don’t care that you are a regular customer.

What I like about Hotel Vilar America is its location and helpful staff. It is located to a walkable distance from Zona G, where you can find nice restaurants, and Zona T, where you can find good shopping malls and other retail stores such as Zara, H&M, etc.

We stayed long term (7 days) and reserved a suite with kitchen. While the room has a good size. There are few things that need improvement.

1. Kitchen. The kitchen cabinets and stove are old. However, pan, pots and other kitchen utensils are almost new.
2. Noise level in the hallway. You can hear people opening and closing their door, and people talking in the hallways. The room is not soundproof, so you can listen mostly everything that happens in the hallways.
3. Water heater. The hot water is low. Do not expect long hot shower.
4. Electrical outlets. While you will find 2 power outlets in each side of your bed, there are placed beneath the nightstands, which may difficult charging your phone and use it at the same time. I will recommend bring a longer charging cable instead of the standard one.
5. Breakfast Buffet. I might be bias about the food because I am very picky, but the food is bland. After three consecutive dates, you may be tired of eating the same: toast, ham and cheese, scrambled eggs, and no fresh juice. I will recommend going outside to try all of the breakfast options that the city offers.
