Only had a one night stay, but it was terrific all around. After a few nights in Ubud, we stayed in Ulawatu area to check out the nearby temple and be near the airport for our flight out the next day. The villa was spacious, with all the modern western amenities. Enjoyed the personal plunge pool. Bed was comfortable. One critique we had came from listing on Hotels.com and I don't attribute this to the property, but Hotels.com says the hotel is a six (6) minute walk to the Ulawatu Temple. In actuality, it is a 20-25 taxi/Grab ride away, so don't expect to be able to walk if you plan to go to the temple or have tickets to the fire show. If you want a new, modern resort in Bali, you won't go wrong staying at this resort.

Beautiful villa with exceptional ocean views and customer service. All staff at the hotel were very friendly. Breakfast at Sire were amazing with many options and the food served were so fine unlike buffet style which are mass-cooked. Will definitely visit again.

One of the best properties I have ever been to, from the beginning of the check in until the checkout, rooms were clean, staff were amazing, location was very appropriate, services and requests we have placed were all met with pleasure from the staff and a smile on their faces, I am definitely coming back to alila villas uluwatu, it is the place to go to whenever you want a very calming relaxing vacation, thank you to the property, and all of the staff.

This property is in a beautiful location & is good if you want to visit savaya but it’s 2 or 3 nights maximum but it does have major service issues:

Clear shortage of staff in all front of house areas. Often waiting for someone to attend to you. Lack of recognisable reception or concierge really doesn’t help.

Staff often confused if breakfast is or isn’t included. Also, Breakfast menu changes daily which clearly creates quality control issues in the food because a lot of the dishes are poorly conceived and executed. Worst breakfast I had in the 6 hotels I visited in Bali. Going back to basics with 2 or 3 daily specials would massively improve service, along with making it inclusive for all market's.

We ordered two glasses of champagne for dinner, cold glasses turned up but champagne was over 15 minutes later and then total confusion between all 5 waiting staff what to do because they realised glasses were no longer cold. It took over 20 minutes to get 2 glasses of champagne.

Staff vanished for over 15 minutes in the sunset bar, we just left without signing.

What became obvious during my stay is the hotel has a lot of weddings & I think this leads to the staff shortages and quality issues. Everyone is trying to service the hotel & the wedding at the same time.

Hotel just needs a new GM as the issues all come from the top. Staff clearly not well trained & organised.

For reference, I stayed with a friend & we travel the world in the best 5 star hotels.

Amazing venue. Staff were very friendly and appeared to be willing to help but unfortunately consistently under delivered. Apart from two staff the rest were unfortunately we’re very poorly trained. Unbelievably slow service - slowest I have ever experienced in Asia - a simple drink took 45 mins to arrive. 30 mins for a menu to arrive after sitting down at the restaurant. All of the wine was clearly kept poorly - flat champagne for example. Which is a shame as the quality of the food was excellent as was the accommodation, if a little tired. Simple basic training would go a long way and make this place worth the money. There are other cheaper places with better service next door.

My favourite resort so far: amazing views, picture-perfect beach, very attentive staff, the best spa experience, great attention to detail. Please build handrails for the 600 steps to the beach to avoid unwanted accidents. An elevator or tram to the beach (like they have at Ayana Resort) would be perfect, though.

My husband and our 19 year old daughter shared an enormous one bedroom villa at Alila and had a sublime time. Decor, service, food, activities, spa and staff are all fantastic. A little far from shopping in Seminyak requiring a day trip. Recommend the cooking class as you also eat your cooked meal. Suggest getting a villa with an ocean view, not too high as can hear music from neighbouring Omnia if on top levels, and close to main facilities. We will stay again.

Truly mind blowing !

Alila Uluwatu was the most beautiful resort we have ever stayed in and we have stayed in many. The design and layout is simply stunning and it’s position on the edge of the Indian Ocean is awe inspiring. We stayed in a one bedroom villa with our son which was incredibly spacious and well appointed, the view of the ocean is only partial and is far away but the surroundings and design of the outdoor area is so beautiful, it didn’t matter. The staff are so attentive, genuine and warm , it was very hard to say goodbye to them when we left . The food is excellent in both restaurants and the poolside menu has everything you would want it to have . The breakfasts are an absolute treat and the menu changes completely every day. The quality and setting of the sunset cabana and it’s wonderful cocktails were a sublime way to end the day. Complimentary yoga is held everyday by a very accomplished Yogi in an elevated pavilion over looking the ocean and listening to the waves crashing as we meditated , was an inspirational way to start our day. Our stay at Alila started with an upset with our airport transfer but the hotel manager went above and beyond to compensate for the mishap and went absolutely out of his way to ensure that this didn’t spoil our stay. Our 5 nights in Alila Uluwatu will be forever in our memories as a truly wonderful experience, thank you 🙏

An extremely pleasant stay

My family and I originally booked the two-bedroom villa, but were pleasantly surprised when we were upgraded to the three-bedroom hillside villa upon checking in. The service of Alila had been impeccable from the moment they picked us up from the airport to the drop-off. All the staff there had a big smile on their face and they made us feel very welcome. They never said no for any request and took care of everything for us, such as remembering that my mom is lactose intolerant and preparing a special meal for her every time we dined at their restaurants. I have to mention that the food there was tasty, especially the bread from the CIRE. It was freshly made in-house every day and super delicious. We always had to ask for more because it was so good! Our private butler Artha was amazing too. He was very attentive and paid attention to every little thing. Overall we had an excellent experience staying with Alila.

Take as much Insect Repellent(yes I caped it because it matters) as you can. Those mosquitos would eat you alive without you knowing it. My girlfriend even caught a fever(possibly dengue fever) because of mosquito bite. So take it seriously. Other than this you can't ask more for hotel like this

This has got to be the most incredible hotel I have ever stayed at. My husband and I spent 3 nights in a villa on our honeymoon and could not be more pleased. From the stunning rooms, delicious breakfast and jaw dropping views this hotel is worth the visit. They must have an itinerary of each guest because every day multiple staff members (from buggy drivers to waiters) would inquire about our specific activities of the day and we were shocked at how they knew we had just come from aerial yoga etc. Unforgetable experience and unforgettable hotel.

Beautiful and relaxing location to destress

This place is amazing. From check-in all the way to checkout, you are pampered all the way. We didn't venture out to explore because we already planned to relax in the villa area and it proved to be the best decision. The place was clean, quiet, spacious. The color theme of the whole place just soothes you wherever you go. The staff were professional, they spoke excellent English. The food served at the restaurants were tasty and fresh

Things that made the experience imperfect:
There was this Brazilian couple who \"reserved\" the spot in front of the main pool since like 8am by leaving a bag there. One of them were having breakfast on his own, and she only showed up about 1+ hours later. We returned to our villa to change and came back to the main pool only to find that spot in front of the pool was still reserved. I understand this is not the hotel's fault, but I believe the hotel should not encourage this kind of behavior.

I think there was some parties going in the evening/night, but we could clearly hear the music in our room with all doors shut

I'm a little disappointed that airport transfer is not offered for free.

My stay was FABULOUS! They let me stay in the room 2 hrs after checkout since I had a flight later that night. Service was flawless! They even had an entire separate menu for gluten free vegan breakfast! Villas were perfect, huge space and flows into the pool, loved the design! THE BED THO <3 Can't wait to go back!

Wonderful stay at the Alila Villas. The facilities and landscaping are immaculate, the rooms are filled with amenities, and above all else, the service was fantastic. My favorite elements, not in any specific order - I really enjoyed the dining experiences at the Warang (one night they held a themed ‘night market’); I loved the private pool in the room (the water was always super clean and refreshing’; I really liked the in-room dining breakfast, which I ordered from a Samsung Notepad; I really liked having both the heavy and light bathrobes in the room, and the his/her bathroom products; I really liked that everyone knew who I was ( they had photos of the guests), and I didn’t feel like I was at a hotel. Overall wonderful experience, and I only described bits and pieces. Compared to other 5 Star places I stayed, Alila Villas really does things at 5.5 levels...

My wife and I stayed at this property for about a week and loved it.

First and foremost, we would definitely return because we enjoyed the many services the hotel provided, among them, spa and massage services, day trips, Yoga classes, and a small but sufficiently-equipped gym.

Secondly, the food, especially the breakfast, offers a good mix of international and local cuisine.

Thirdly, the overall design of the property is minimalistic yet quite elegant. The property is well maintained by gardeners and groundskeepers.

The Most Amazing Stay

My husband and I stayed at Alila Villa last week for our honeymoon and we couldn’t be happier. We’ve stayed in 4 different resort in Bali before and we honestly thought Alila was the best. From the friendliness of the staff, cleanliness of the room to the vast variety of food available, Alila is simply perfect. My husband and I stayed at Alila Uluwatu for the last 4 days of our honeymoon. We wanted luxury and somewhere we could sit back and relax and we were not disappointed!! Alila is absolutely amazing. It is a private resort set on the clifftops yet tucked away in the forest. From the moment we checked in, staff were friendly, attentive and happy to help whenever they could, sometimes going above and beyond. The grounds of Alila were phenomenal - tranquil garden areas, beautiful architecture keeping in touch with nature and Balinese tradition - all of which were very peaceful. The main lobby, pool and restaurant area is absolutely stunning - picture perfect and an area with a stunning view.
Our 1 bedroom honeymoon pool villa was amazing!! The layout was great, huge living area and had an amazing pool with cabana - we didn't want to leave this space!! An incredible stay - thank you!

Simply Amazing

My stay at Alila Uluwatu was simply amazing. I have stayed at Alila Seminyak, and really enjoyed my time there, but the villas at Uluwatu are at an entirely differently level. The design of the hotel is chic and modern, the rooms are great, the bed is perfect, and the staff is super friendly and helpful. I really enjoyed the spa- massage and facial are great (although I would pass on the mani/pedi). Breakfast is delicious with the most amazing view. I also really enjoyed the yoga classes. Overall, a great little getaway and I definitely want to go back!

Once you step into the vast greenery compound of the villa, you can sense an overwhelming tranquility and peacefulness. The check in area is in front of the remarkable sea view that makes the villa world renowned. It really took my breath away and bring a smile to us, as we know we chose the correct place to stay for a retreat.

The service is impeccable and personal. You are always greeted with warm, sincere staff and each villa is assigned two butlers to attend to your needs. The food is tastefully good, using fresh ingredients. The facilities within your villa are detailed, sufficient to make you stay the whole day/night within your villa, doing the most important thing in life - nothing.. Outside shower, indoor 7 jets shower room, bath tub, private pool, huge pool facing, lounge sofa area, 180 view TV panel, ....

The villa architecture is very impressive, modern, and brilliant use of different construction materials that are timeless. Another item we notice is that their staff actually sat down with their clients at their dinning table.
Cleanliness, privacy, serenity, thoughtfulness, and detailed. Idea for anyone who just want to enjoy some peaceful time with heavenly scenery.

A special mention is one of their managers, Taiwanese, Ivy Chang that is really warm, sincere, and attentive to our needs. Based on her own experience, she will recommend where to go in Bali too. She made my b day celebration at t, really special.

Amazing Honeymoon

We stayed at Alila Uluwatu as part of the first leg of our honeymoon. It is very isolated which is what you want on a honeymoon.

The view you get as you arrive into the resort is just mind blowing, I still dream about it! Food was excellent at the Indonesian warung, we ate there almost all the nights as we couldn't get enough of it. It was a bit pricey, but so is this whole resort but we felt it was well worth the price to pay for an amazing experience.

The private pool in our room was very luxurious. Service was great and to get to the main dining / pool areas we called for a buggy which was very prompt to come and get us.

Do try the complimentary yoga - it was relaxing to start the morning off! I hope to go back soon!!!

Perfect relaxing getaway

Awesome three nights at Alila. Staff were so amazing and nothing was too much trouble for them. Views from the resort are beautiful and rooms come with absolutely everything you would expect from a 5 star hotel.

A little luxury villa living

We had an incredible stay at Alila. If you're looking for privacy, luxurious villas and a private pool to dip in, this is the place for you. We'd stayed around Bali for 2 weeks before staying here and had plenty of opportunities to explore the island. Once we arrived at Alila we literally didn't move as the service to the villas was so amazing and we just didn't want to leave! We had a spa treatment which was good but the spa environment didn't quite live up to expectations so maybe skip this and focus on enjoying your amazing villa! On a side note, the bathrobes by Ploh are so good I'm going to buy one for home.

What a spot, what a view!

we visited Alila Uluwatu on the 2nd stop of our honeymoon and quite frankly words alone cannot describe the breathtaking view and the private villa we stayed in. Sitting a top the edge of the island overlooking the Indian Ocean, our only regret was not staying longer. The staff are extremely courteous and helpful, the grounds are relaxing and put you at ease, and the view is 2nd to none. Highly recommend this venue for honeymooners or travelers looking for something special.

Spacious and well equipped villa

A very nice property. Villa is very spacious and well equipped. But the villas were a bit far from the sea/cliff...would have been nice to listen to the sound of the ocean to sleep.

It is a luxury hotel with good location. But this hotel is below my expectation. The floor in our room is dirty for the first day when we arrive. Also there's rusty thing in the shower room that means they haven't properly clean it for a while... The hotel charge system is a mess! It changes daily in Rupia. If you charge USD then everything should show up in USD, the same thing to Rupia, if you charge in RU then everything should show up in RU okay. Some hotel staffs are faking the smile that you can tell it's so fake, which is really disappointed. Overall they still friendly. First day there was a guy in room explain to us how to use everything, he treat us like silly. Why? might be we just take off the plane and looks dump :( Hello my husband is a smart IT guy, how can't we figure out the lighting stuff? We were just tired that day okay. Compare with Bvlgari this hotel has good pricing but it need to consider what to offer.

Heaven on earth!

We stayed at Alila for two nights, and it was like a piece of heaven on earth! As soon as we arrived, the view from the lobby was spectacular! The hotel staff take you to your room via buggies (you can walk through some stairs as well). The villa was absolutely amazing! Very clean and just enough space for two people. Would definitely come back!

Luxury, modern, swim up pool room...
Great food, pity it didn't have a bar and bigger Plasma TV with a better pull out bracket so you could see the whole tv from your bed.

Butler service wasn't up to pat and rooms could have been cleaner and smell free

Breathtaking view, amazing design, good service

Gorgeous hotel, impeccable in almost every single aspect.
POSITIVE: The staff is noticeably better trained than other 5 star hotels.

NEGATIVE:Food is really quite pricey, US$24 (inc. service & tax) for 2 pieces of grilled chicken(rendang chicken?) and US$18 (inc. service & tax) for a fried rice (nasi goreng?) is very expensive considering the small serving portion.

Nonetheless, we had a fantastic stay here and will recommend this amazing resort to others who's after a getaway since the hotel has nothing in the neighboring land (thus the exclusivity) and it takes 45mins to go to anywhere meaningful given the bad road conditions/jams in Bali.

Stunning Cliffside Bali Resort

Amazing cliff location offers views galore of the ocean from every room. Architecture is stunning, and you won't be disappointed by the award winning swimming pool with infinity views.

Staff is beyond incredible, they are by far the best part of the experience.

Facilities are extremely well maintained.

Spa is wonderful - try the \"4 hands\" massage

Take the cliff staircase to the beach early in the morning to leave you in shape for a guilt free sumptuous breakfast to start the day.

Amazing Getaway

Everything about our experience at Alila was amazing, and by far the best hotel we stayed in while in Bali. The service is outstanding, the food was excellent, and the spa treatments and massages were better than any my wife and I have had in our entire lives They also have a complimentary yoga class every morning at 9:00 am. The location is a little secluded, but the front desk or your personal butler will arrange transportation for you, either with a hotel car or a taxi--whatever your preference. This is definitely a great place in which to end your trip.

A Relaxing Getaway Hideout

If you are thinking of taking time off for a relaxing hideout getaway then Alila Uluwatu is the place of choice. There is really nothing much to complain about except for the location being deep in the alley to be able to be right on the cliff which means it is simply not possible for you to get anywhere out of the resort by foot. If you would be happy relaxing in the resort itself then the surrounding and environment is great.
