Disappointed Stay

We were very disappointed in the Comfort Inn overall. The staff was very friendly but we are accustomed to Holiday Inn Express and this was definitely not at that level of amenities, there was no elevator or work out treadmill etc. The breakfast was overcooked fried eggs, no boiled eggs even to offset this and no one was overseeing the breakfast which went along with everything else we felt about the amenities.

Adequate hotel with good rates.

The hotel is clean and relatively new. The walls are thin, however, so if you have noisy neighbors you will hear them. Not a luxury hotel, but will give you a comfortable night.

So bad we could not stay the second night.

We had to leave early because the room condition was so bad. Clearly a smoking room that was sold as non-smoking. the hotel was old and not kept in good condition. Nothing looked anywhere close to the pictures online.

It looked like renovation was in process, which was good, but there was no elevator which made it difficult with luggage. Also, the exhaust fan in the bathroom rattled which came on every time the light was turned on.

The staff helpfulness makes this place.

Very few places have I gone to where the staff has been more friendly and helpful. For example, when Expedia messed up the reservation, the staff member helped me fix everything with minimal headache. When I asked where a good place to eat was, he not only told me about his personal experiences of places to eat, he also told me about things in the area to go do, asked where I was going the next day and told the probable best route, and printed out selected maps for the important places. A few times during the stay I was asked if everything was okay and that if there was anything they could do to make the stay better they would do it. The place is good to, it is next to a wooded area and is relatively quiet. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a good place to sleep.

Pay a little more and stay somewhere else

Booked a non smoking room. Room reeked of smoke, although we were told no one was smoking in there. Must have been located near break area outdoors or next to a smoking room. Beds were clean and reasonably comfortable. Room was extremely outdated but we were there for a total of 10 hours while visiting Kings Island so that wasn't an issue. Went down for breakfast, food was not very good, hard and rubbery sausage and eggs patties were the same shape and consistency as the sausage. Man who was carrying the food tray to the eating room was coughing and looking very upset, obviously didn't care about his appearance to customers. It made us stop eating and we left immediately. Price wasn't even that cheap, would not stay again.

Clean, despite renovations notice

The front desk person was very helpful and courteous. When he assigned our room, I asked about an elevator. He said there wasn't one, and then changed our room to a first floor unit. Very grateful for that! Our room was clean and neat. Breakfast buffet was good. We will probably stay there again.

Great hotel, but conditioner was off in 90 degrees

We liked our stay, could have been better, since it was 90 degrees outside on July 25, 2015, and the room was extremely hot, because the air conditioner was off. Took a long time to cool down. New policy to keep them off until guest turned on needs to be re-evaluated. Free breakfast was great. Quiet and only 3 miles from Kings Island.

No Bathroom Lights nor Light bulbs

The light bulbs, upon our arrival at 10pm, in the bathroom were burned out and the hotel had no spares. The hotel clerk took me to the one room that hadn't checked in yet and I had to climb up and get light bulbs out of the other room's bathroom and I had to go install them myself. They found some guy to go buy light bulbs at Walmart. The last guest to check in would have no light bulbs in his bathroom.

Also currents were discgusting.

I'll find another place next time.

It was OK. Being close to Kings Island was the only good thing.
The pool was VERY cloudy and needs up keep. They have one person working in the morning, so it takes them awhile to restock breakfast and they only have one waffle iron. Do NOT get too close to the walls in the room. They've been cheaply patched in spots.

Staff was friendly and helpful but we got a room that had dingy, gross carpeting as well as a shower that had curtains too short for the tub, which led to water leaking all over the bathroom floor. Also the tub didn't drain well at all. The staff said they were in the middle of replacing the carpeting throughout the hotel but seems like they waited a few years too long to replace it all. Pretty gross. Also parking had barely enough spots as we came back late one night and had to park barely fitting behind a dumpster.

Pros: The continental breakfast was good with a decent selection of food. The beds were comfy with lots of pillows. WiFi worked. Pool was really warm. Good location, minus the crazy uphill driveway to get out. New hallway carpeting looks nice.

Cons: our bathroom floor was sticky by toilet so we put towels down on the floor, dead bugs behind the toilet, bathroom walls were half-painted a new grey color. Pool sitting area was full of dead bugs, and the plastic chairs and tables were dirty/sticky. I think they recently painted the pool area, but not sure if it was the right type of paint since some of the paint would stick to the bottom of my feet and actually peel off the floor. Lots of ants outside of the building and in pool area.

Overall this will be a very acceptable hotel, but they are ion the middle of complete renovations right now, so it's not at it's best. The reno's will make it quite nice, but they have to clean up some of the small details. It looks like they didn't hesitate to spend considerable money with good intentions.
We would stay there again if our travels bring us that way.

Bad, bad, bad

Rooms were dusty and musty. There was never anyone at the front desk. We went to our breakfast the next morning and EVERYTHING was hard, stale, and cold with bugs flying around the food. I could have thrown the muffins and put a hole in the dry wall. I had to call the front desk while I was standing in front of the front desk in order to get milk brought to the breakfast area for the cereal (only thing I would let my kids eat due to the storage containers the cereal was kept in), however the milk never arrived. I was told that I will be there in a minute, I am on the second floor. I honestly do not know that I ever saw an employee after I checked in and I had to ring the bell five times to get someone to come and check me in. Not a good experience at all. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE or bring your own vacuum and food.

Customer Service needs work

Everything was outdated. Our toilet would not stop running and front desk expect us to stick our hands in the toilet every time to stop it. And how they fixed it was by telling us to push the handle down slowly. Didnt offer us another room. First time i have been so upset over a room.

The room was comfortable but needed some attention. Patchwork in the bathroom had not been painted and the toilet wobbled. There were a lot of options for breakfast, but some foods were bland. The gravy and the sausage links had not taste at all.

Sadly, with just a bit of effort, this could be a nice hotel; however, upon arrival, we asked to be on the first floor. They accommodated, but the room they gave us was obviously being worked on. It appeared they were making some improvements but in a messy way. The tub and sink had plaster in them and I informed the front desk when we left for dinner. Upon returning, they had taken the bath mat and soap off the tub floor, but neglected to clean up the plaster! There was an annoying blinking light (florescent) in the breakfast area that could have been fixed in less than 10 minutes. The food tasted stale and the coffee was military-like. Water fountains in the hallway were dirty. Yuck! Bottom line, beds were clean and OK-comfortable. With just a little effort, it could be a nice hotel. Under current conditions, it was tolerable, but barely.

The room itself wasn't too bad. The bed was comfortable and the tv was good with tons of channels. Wi-fi was pretty decent. My only complaint is the pool...it is tiny and shallow, and the water was extremely murky...you won't want your children in there. The pool room itself was way too hot and stuffy, and the pool towels are teeny tiny and super scratchy. Overall bad pool experience, don't go here if you are wanting a place to swim.

OK for the price, but not 3 stars

The room was very hot when we arrived, and it did not cool off quickly. Bathroom and shower were fine. Bed was comfortable, but there was lots of small damage to the room and halls. On dresser drawer was completely broken. Location was close to Kings Island and wi-fi was good. The free breakfast was running out when we got there, which was an hour before it was supposed to be over. Staff was very friendly, but it wasn't enough to make up for the other shortcomings.

The lobby looked awesome, but once you ventured farther it was a mess. Couldn't see the bottom of the pool, the upstairs hallway was hot hot hot. Our room had a musty smell. Ceiling tiles by the breakfast room were moldy and some were missing. Looks like they may be trying to update but it needs a lot of work.

* No elevators, so beware if you have to carry heavy bags.

Good hotel for the money

No elevator in hotel

Had booked a non smoking room with two beds for the family to stay in for a trip to King's Island. My son is in a wheelchair, and we were not able to occupy the room we were booked in because the hotel does not have an elevator. We had to switch to a smoking room on the ground floor. Ice machine was broken and vending options were not great. Room was clean and comfortable, but the hotel in general was not what I was expecting based on other reviews.

Things are not as they appear on the internet

Horrible. We pulled up to the hotel and the first clue was the empty parking lot except for a few plumbing vans. Most of the rooms on the first floor were dark, had the blinds pulled although you could see mattresses leaned up against the wall. The overall smell of the property was musty. While we waited to check in we looked around the corner and saw a delapidated ice machine that had an \"out of service\" sign. The pool was operating but I question why. It was an unhealthy shade of green. We were told the elevator was out of service and took the stairs to our 2nd floor room. The carpet in the hallway was old and dirty and the room across from ours had a big bleach spot outside the door. Upon opening our door, the smell of old oily bedding and musty air greeted us. The bathroom was questionable as it appeared to have been recently patched and the shower and tub were dirty with hair and other debris. My first response to my children was \"do not put anything on the floor or on the bedding\" for fear of bed bugs. We immediately left the room to find something to do until we had to come back and try to sleep. The reason for our trip was a weekend get away to swim, shop and enjoy a complimentary breakfast but what we got was an uneasy feeling that made us want to get the night over with out and check out ASAP.

Nicer than I expected.

This was an affordable place to stay for a quick overnight in Cincy. The hotel was convenient to what we wanted to do (Kings Island, shopping malls, etc.) The room was nicer than I expected, the beds were comfortable and the linens nicer than usual. Breakfast was adequate, quiet at night.

Would not recommend. Check in staff was very helpful, but this doesn't make up for the dirty carpet and cigarette smell everywhere. The breakfast area wasn't well serviced ( ran out of milk and waffle maker didn't work well). Just not a clean hotel. Would spend a few more dollars for a cleaner place to sleep.

Froot Loops were stale, eggs were cold, no elevator for guest with bad knees. No microwave in one of the rooms. Had to hold the handle down on the toilet to get it to flush. Rooms were non-smoking, but smelled like someone had been smoking in them. The TV remote wouldn't work on the TV. Desk Clerk was very nice and helpful. He fixed the remote problem.

The staff was very friendly, but the stains on the bed skirts, the clogged up coffee pot inside the room, the dirty vents on the air conditioning unit, and the fact that one bed had fresh sheets and the other was questionable was quite a fright, but about what I would have expected from this type of hotel. Management was not concerned about the bed skirts saying, \"we don't wash those everyday\". Housekeeping took the coffee pot without sending up another one because most of the coffee pots in the building were not working. We were told to leave our breakfast garbage on the tables in the lobby because the garbage can was over-flowing. I guess they did not want to empty the garbage more than once. Rooms were extremely pricey all over town for this particular night. Most nicer hotels had no available space. So, we were stuck.

Hotel was off the beaten path but easy to find. Did not guarantee room after midnight, which could have been a problem for us since we were leaving King's Island late. We got to the hotel and encountered a hot lobby, polite host, unclean carpets. The room number was written illegibly and we had to return to front desk to inquire. There are no elevators (room was on 2nd floor so we had to lug things twice). Finally got in our room. Beds were nice. Carpet again looked dirty. At first, I didn't think the AC was going to work. Tub/shower would not drain properly. Toilet had to be flushed twice. Breakfast bar closed at 9:00 a.m. and pool didn't open until 10:00 with checkout being at 11:00. We did return for second night because we left late and had bad directions for long drive home. Second night we stayed, we were given same room and it had trash in the corner (not from our stay the previous night) and the AC was LOUD. Had to put a chair against it to keep it from rattling. Freezing cold and then hot all night. Beds were fine, pillows good. Again, terrible drainage in the shower and was just glad to have a place to sleep. Breakfast bar was fine. Different host was nicer than the first and found some yogurt for us that hadn't been set out. All in all, we got what we paid for, but I think this property needs some updating and cleanliness. Would recommend trying out other places. We went here because trip advisor gave it good reviews. Don't think it lived up to those reviews.

Good for Kings Island stay

The hotel was convenient and affordable for overnight stay while going to Kings Island. Our room was not ready when we arrived at 3:15--just a minor inconvenience as we went on to Kings Island and came back to the hotel at the end of the day. Interior was dated but clean. Overall, a good value for what we needed--we would stay here again.

If you want personal attention, stay here!!!!

When I arrived, the owner greater me. He was extremely friendly and did anything he could to make us feel welcome. The breakfast was great also. Not just a toast and coffee! But actual breakfast. If I'm ever back in town, this is where I will stay!! Thank you so much!

staff seemed to be exhausted but was helpful and friendly. We were allowed to check out an hour later since we had 4 teenagers with us and they went swimming in the pool in the morning before we left. Indoor pool was a plus. Even though we had to pay for two extra persons.

So many things were wrong with this hotel. Ice machine broken, coffee machine broken, Room dirty (who knows when it was cleaned last), stains on the carpet and things floating in the pool. Felt really dirty staying there. The area was nice and the staff was friendly. I guess you get what you pay for.

Avoid id possible!

Unfortunately there is nothing good to say. The staff is very unprofessional, the rooms are dirty and out dated. The staff is the owners family and they are very unprofessional, sloppy in appearance and most of them don't speak English. The free b-fast that's provided with thier over priced rooms is a joke. Next year I would consider sleeping a week in my car if this hotel was my only option!

Great value and very friendly staff.

When I got to my room, the room was warm and the air was already on and set on high. I went to the front desk and asked if I could be moved to a cooler room. I'm usually not one to complain but we'd been at Kings Island all day and I was hot and tired and the room was not comfortable. The hotel clerk was very friendly and kind about moving me to a new room and went with me to the new room to make sure I was comfortable. He even went and found an even cooler room after I moved and told me I could move there. His willingness to make us happy was very much appreciated and is not often found. I will definitely stay here again on our next trip to Kings Island.

Old and in Need of some TLC

The room needed new carpet - the old carpet was badly stained, which made the room feel dirty. The door lock should have been replaced prior to renting out the room, it ws replaced the second night we were there. For the cost - it seemed expensive for a room that was slightly over used. The service and location was ok.

The hotel was pretty average. We just needed a room to sleep in, no frills. Desk clerk originally gave us 2nd floor room but gladly changed to 1st floor when we realized there was no elevator. Would not recommend to anyone looking for extras.

Close to Tennis Tournament but Not Kept Up

Sheets very old and had holes in them. Mold in bathroom at top of shower. Toilet had to hold down to flush. Blankets VERY OLD! Old, stained carpet. Bathroom light broken/cracked and flashed when turned on. We stayed 3 nights because we prepaid. Each night we had to go down and have our room key recoded as it wouldn't work in the door when we got home. 2nd night came home and the room was not cleaned. Desk workers apologized and were very nice. Good points include: close to tennis tournament, air conditioner worked well.
