The hotel itself was very nice, clean, and comfortable. The view from our balcony room was stunning, and the room itself was very nice. However a few things came to us as a surprise during our stay and were frusrating. First, i did not get the room i booked through expedia. I booked a 1 king+sofa bed, and they gave a room with only 1 king bed, saying the sofa bed are reserved for parties of 3 or more. This rule was never stated anywhere, and i booked a room with a sofa bed. As well my mom came with me on this trip, only my name was on the reservation, and they said they charge an extra 25euros per night per extra guest. That seemed ridiculous, thankfully the staff were kind enough to waive this fee. As well, the AC in our room was broken the first 2 nights, but was fixed. We have 4 keycards die on us through the trip and constantly had to be going to the desk to re issue our key cards. The hotel is a 15-20 minute walk to old town split, and the hotel itself is on a hill. There are no dining options close by. We wanted to order from the pool menu one night, only to be told the pool menu closes at 6pm, this was not posted anywhere, so with no dining options nearby we had to eat from the hotel buffett which was 35euro p/p for standard, limited option food. We also wanted to go for a night swim, only to be told the pool closes at 7pm, which is also not posted anywhere. The staff at the hotel were all very friendly and helpful from the cleaning staff through to reception. We loved the sea view and whilst not large the pool was very pleasant as was the area around it. The rooms were comfortable and clean and nicely furnished. The negative is that the hotel is on top of a large hill which really should be highlighted on the hotel details. We walked miles going to and from town. So unless you are happy to get taxis everywhere you will need to be prepared. Regards hotel facilities the sauna and steam room were out of action which is a shame. The hotel has a bar but closed at 9pm which is early. Overall we had a lovely holiday amd very much enjoyed lovely Split and a comfortable stay.

Extremely overpriced. Value/money isn’t there.

I feel bad making this review because the staff of the hotel is great and the service is exceptional. But the pricing of this hotel is completely out of touch with reality. I genuinely feel like I was robbed staying at Cvita hotel.

The hotel is fine, don’t get me wrong. It’s a decent place to stay the night. But paying almost 700$CAD for 2 nights is straight up stealing from people.

I initially booked this hotel because i was tired and wanted to spoil myself with something comfortable, and i was ready to pay the price for it. I was surprised to find a very basic hotel. The room is small. I was placed on the 5th floor so the ceiling of the room and the bathroom was at an angle. I couldn’t even stand straight in the shower and had to lower my head a bit to be able to shower. The shower head’s flow was exceptionally weak, it took me twice the usual amount of time i need to shower.

The AC doesn’t work properly, it gives cold air but for some reason is stuck at the lowest fan setting even when you tone it up to the max. The TV sits at a weird angle from the bed. The amenities are underwhelming. This hotel feels much more like a good 3 star hotel than a 4 star hotel. And the price is outrageous. I would have left a 10/10 review if it was priced properly, which would have to be even less than HALF what i paid. If you’re willing to pay the price, just look for another 4 star hotel in Split. This place is not it.

A beautiful hotel perched on the side of a hill, with a large and comfortable room with a balcony for an astounding view of the Adriatic sea 🌊
You can sit and sip your coffee and watch the speedboats and the cruise ships floating by.

Unfortunately, we were so disappointed in this hotel that we left early. It was incredibly inconvenient to get into Split and difficult to drive to. Amenities listed were non functional, lower quality than anticipated, or not working at all (television that staff admitted hadn’t worked in over a year, spa employees not on site, no proper lunch restaurant).

Hotel was lovely but a bit out of the way from town approx 20 mins walk and up some very steep banks. Hotel didn't have the restaurant open for dinner so you had to go into town to eat and that meant getting a taxi backwards and forwards and taxi cost 20 euro each way but Uber cost approximately 5 euro each way. Breakfast was good if you went down early but very little replenishment. Towels in the bathroom were on the small side for a shower. Hotel staff were excellent and room superb magnificent views from balcony and the pool area was a welcome area.

Hotel Cvita provided a memorable stay in Split. We were there for just one night. The desk clerk suggested we take a cab to dinner in the city center and made all the arrangements for us. The room was so beautifully appointed and so clean that it felt as though we were the first guests ever to stay in the room. We arrived to Kate to enjoy the sauna, but would use it next time! This boutique hotel provided services we would have expected from a much larger facility. Complimentary breakfast was simple yet it included everything we needed. They even offered cooked-to-9rder eggs. An excellent stay for one night or longer!

The terrace and view was lovely. The room was adequate, a bit on the small size.
Our room was on the 4th floor which was actually the 5 th floor from reception. When getting ready to check out, the elevator was being serviced and not operational. My wife and I have back issues and I also have heart condition. When approaching the man working at the front desk, he said he’s just the person people complain to.
Finally,we found some staff who were willing to help us carry everything down 5 stories of stairs, This incident turned our stay into being unacceptable!

Booked a room with a balcony, which is what we got. Unfortunately, the room was on the second floor, so we had a great view of the solar panels and the shed that they were mounted on. The carpet in our room was badly stained, and the old fashioned furniture in the room took up a lot if space in what was a decent sized room. Rather disappointing. Set against this, the food in the restaurant was very good, although the menu was rather limited.

As a first time solo traveller, I really appreciated my stay at Hotel Cvita. The food is fantastic, you can get great meals from the restaurant, or lighter bites from the bar/lounge area. The outdoor pool area is lovely, the staff is so attentive and friendly, and it never feels too crowded.
The rooms are big and comfy. Check out is at 11, however I was allowed to leave my luggage while I went into the Old Town before my flight. I was also told that I had full use of all amenities, including the pool, showers and change rooms, for the day which was very nice!

This hotel was exactly what we expected. Walking distance into town and a little uphill on the way back. The facilities were good and the staff were all really helpful.

Limited dinner menu but the food we did have was good - I think the restaurant is still work in progress and the gym had no working aircon.

We had a great sea view balcony room although the carpet had a few stains on it, great bathroom, great temp control.

The lady serving down by the pool was wonderful and so helpful!

Breakfast was good too. Good value for money with the package we had!

Comfy base for exploring Split.

Lovely hotel, v comfortable and clean. Pool area on the small side for 60 guests, felt quite crowded and noisy, and not enough loungers but maybe because there was a large group of young adults there. The room was spacious, beds v comfy and carpeted floors and the air con was fantastic. Breakfast was inside, no room outside, and I felt a little on the minimal side, you had to get down early to get any eggs and sausage and cakes were cut up into small portions.
The patio doors are a danger, they were closed but looked open, and I walked straight into the glass hurting my head, another guest had done the same the day previously. Staff were kind and got me some ice, but a bit worrisome certainly for small children.
Location wasn’t too bad, we had a lovely sea view from our balcony, elevated position helped. It was a 20-30 min walk into the town, uphill on the way home and neighbourhood wasn’t quite what I expected for a 4 star hotel, housing estates and lots of graffiti. We did find a better walk into town on the last day.
Overall it was a good base for 2-3 days exploring of Split, staff were kind and attentive, and room was v comfy, wouldn’t recommend to those who want a pool based holiday.

The bedroom was sizeable and well decorated and had a great power shower in the bathroom. Would stay again.
Note the hotel is a 25 minute walk to Split Riva.

This boutique hotel is a gem . It's quietly located on the hill above Split only a 20 minute walk to the old town . We walked down into Split every night and cabbed back which was only 10 euros to return to hotel and well worth it . Breakfast is great and the staff is so accommodating and friendly especially Tena at the front desk who happily answered all our questions . The view from the 4th floor of the adriatic is spectacular . My only regret was that we were not staying longer . The pool in the back of the hotel is a great way to spend a lazy day before venturing into Split .. If you are coming by car there is plently of parking right in front of the hotel . I highly recommend this hotel and will be staying here again when I come back to Split . Great hotel and Great staff ! Thanks very much !

Because of its location on Marjan Hill, it can be a little difficult to find without GPS. We left our car parked and walked up and down to the Riva. If you aren't in reasonably good shape, you might find this to be a problem. But, once you get there, you will find a marvelous hotel. Clean, well run, wonderful staff, good bar, nice swimming pool (and I'm not much for swimming). The breakfast buffet is good and you can tell they take pride in their work. The layout of the hotel is a bit quirky in a fun kind of way and you might wonder how you can get so lost in such a small place (but that was part of the fun.) For independent travelers, this is a real find and, the next time I head to Split, I would definitely check their availability.

When you first pull up to the property, it’s next to a building that is being renovated so it looks a little not so nice. However, the second you walk in that all changes, the staff is second to none. The room was beautiful spacious and wonderful. Visited in October and we were extremely lucky with the weather for our whole visit to split.

The hotel more than met our requirements and expectations. The hotel was very clean, room very comfortable & bathroom modern & fresh. Breakfast every morning was good & staff were very friendly and helpful.

The pool area was very quiet & relaxing however doesn’t get the sun all day due to its location in between the buildings. If we had one minor issue, it was that the pool was extremely cold however you just had to take the plunge and embrace it at the time.

Hotel has a nice walk into split old town. It is a steep hill & takes about 20 mins. It is enjoyable on the walk into town however we opted to get an Uber on a few occasions back to the hotel to avoid walking up the steep hill. Ubers were very reasonable & we were advised to avoid flagging down taxis as there are drivers who may try to rip off tourists.

Overall a great experience and would consider staying here again if the price was still competitive with other high rated hotels in split.

A Hidden Gem

Staying at this hotel was a pleasant way to end our month-long adventure in Croatia. Located in a residential area and decorated in a retro style, we appreciated the cozy, boutique feel. Situated on a hillside, our room had a balcony that overlooked the Adriatic and offered a great view. A short walk down hill took us to the promenade to walk to a large city park or along the harbor to the old town area. Accessible to all the “action” by foot or Uber….And the shower was terrific! Great service, too.

Great hotel in Split, close to downtown

Simon and his team at the front desk are first class! My wife and i were very impressed. Their friendliness and customer focused care were very much appreciated.

This hotel is also walking distance (1.7 km or just over a mile) to the Riva as well as a gorgeous beach where the waters are crystal clear and cool for a good swil after a walk.

Great hotel. Staff very friendly and efficient. One negative was the choices of cut fruit for breakfast which could have been improved. The melon was often hard . Our 4th floor room was very spacious with a large balcony. It did have a sun shade stand but when I asked for a shade was told they didn't have any ! The hotel is a good 25 /30 min walk up hill from the centre, so be aware of that , if mobility is an issue. Taxis not cheap for the short distance from the centre. Hotel restaurant isn't open for evening meals so have to venture down the hill for dinner.

A lovely hotel away from the centre which was only a 15 minute walk away
The staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was spotless and we had a balcony with a sea view. Loved the 'Rituals' toiletries
Both the pool areas were clean and never too busy. You could order and eat from a pool menu during the day.

Beautiful hotel, thank you for the excellent stay! Booked in for a few nights before joining my friends on a sailing charter. I wanted somewhere peaceful and calm and Cvita lived up to that. It’s a bit further out of town, about a 20-30 minute walk to the old town, but if you are in need of some peace and quiet with great facilities then look no further. Incredibly comfy bed, great pool and even better staff. Thank you for the wonderful stay

I stayed here for 5 nights with my teenaged son. Positives were that the room was spotless and spacious.

Staff were ok but not exactly forthcoming.

Both indoor and outdoor pools are tiny. The indoor pool was freezing and I never saw anyone in it. In fact the whole ‘spa’ section of the hotel was basically non existent and never used as far I was aware. The gym was a tiny room with very limited equipment- I have more in my garage back home. This was disappointing as it was one of the main reasons that we chose the hotel.

Breakfast was fine but very basic.

The hotel is in a nice quiet location surrounded by pine trees. However it is a challenging 25min walk out of town and up a very steep hill. Taxis are expensive.

The hotel and its facilities looked much better on the website and on the whole we were pretty disappointed with the accommodation. A shame because Split is a wonderful town to visit.

Nice hotel, be prepared to walk up /down the hill

Well appointed hotel overlooking the sea. Equipped with two pools (one in-door) and a gym. Only gripe would be the lack of block-out curtains...gets very light early and the curtains do little to darken thevroom.

Numerous problems. Instead of king bed, room was 2 single beds pushed together. Frames didn’t fit together so they just wedged a bit of foam between the beds. When asked they said that is usual. Refused to move us, no rooms. Looked on website still had rooms available. Requested full refund so moved us to king bed but down graded room. Sitting around pool in shade having a drink when a larger group of Croatian young people arrived staff then had us move into the sun to accommodate them. We then left the pool area. Not very customer focused, is out of town area, no tourist facilities around and for the price much better options closer to old town Split. Never again.

Hôtel Cvita is very quiet, so great to rest. The pool area is nice. The decor is a bit dated. The breakfast was very good. The staff was friendly. My rating is mostly due to the fact that after waiting 15 minutes at check in for a room with a double bed, we were given one with two singles and the room has view of a wall. When I checked out, I was told that we were meant to be in a different room with a double bed and a view but got the wrong key.

The hotel staff were incredibly helpful and friendly and were very attentive to our needs. It's conveniently located halfway between the Old Town and the beaches. Would highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel is good, staff friendly, breakfast good, pool excellent.
However the hotel is very hard to find. It is among apartment buildings and the hotel sign is on the side covered by trees from the street. You have to go to apartments parking lots to find it. We had to ask a jogger from the area where the hotel is. GPS brings you only to the bottom of the street, you have to go up 2 hills. Once you find it, the hotel itself is a good hotel.

Relatively new hotel, but style is more plush and old world. It works reasonably well. Breakfasts very enjoyable. Pool and facilities in very good condition. Its not directly in the centre of Split so its a touch quieter. The tradeoff is a good 15-20 min walk to get there! Key recommendation - Uber and cycle or walk. Taxis are numbingly expensive!
