Everything was very good. the staff were attentive and catered for your every need. The hotel has a good selection of restaurants and of course there is the casino. There is also a nice pool with a bar and a food oulet. The only gripe I did have was that the hot water was seldem more than tepid. I reported this on occassions but to no avail. A short walk away is a shopping mall with more eateries and shopping.

Worst experience at exorbitant prices. Rooms unmaintained, leakages everywhere including damp carpet, bathroom leaks between floors, had all my toiletries makeup and a Chanel bag destroyed by a leakage and was relocated to another property and room less for an entire day and night. The wheat part was no one could help or knew what they were doing. I am in utter shock.

We felt we didn’t know where things were. When we asked for a map at reception they didn’t have one. Generally, more information was required in the room so that guests can make the most of their stay.
Daily cleaning services were excellent.
Minor maintenance issues - toilet seat loose and sliding sideways and electric PowerPoint came out of wall when removing phone charger plug and created potential safety issue.

We stayed at the Sun City Casino Hotel in late August (still winter in South Africa) On 2 days we had temperature in the 30 degrees, 2 days had temperatures in the mid 20s and one where the temperature was high teens. You were allowed to use the pools at the adjacent hotels as well as the waterpark but not the Palace hotel. All the pools were not heated * including the Lazy river at the Valley of the waves so make sure you go there on a hot day. *Apart from a tiny part of the pool in Cascades which was warm! The Casino was a central location and was the centre of the night life for the area (Particularly at the weekends when there was a nightclub on site) During our stay there was some renovation work being carried out on the property but we were given an upgrade to a quieter room, which was good of them. The overall service was really good and breakfast was extensive with anything you would wish for on a buffet-style basis. We did use the Casino on one night and had to get a card to use it but, it was free and didn't take long you just needed a passport for identification. The hotel was quite quiet during the week but livened up at weekends. On site were a number of reasonably priced restaurants, Legends was our favourite as it had live music and you could have a dance too. The Maze is worth a visit and there are lots of activities to do from the hotel. We did a game drive, an escape room and a segway tour to the crocodile pit. All these activities were excellent.

Great Stay @ Sun City

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Sun City. Staff were very professional and helpful. Food was excellent and lots of activities to do. We will definitely visit again for longer next time.

The entire hotel requires a face lift. Lack of staff as well. When trying to get issues sorted at reception and ordering food and drinks by the pool.
We got loved 3 times for our room.
1st room has Ants in it, 2nd room was an accessibility room. And we finally got issued a room that was suitable.

The staff were exceptional. I arrived in Johannesburg at 0400hrs. Arrived at the Hotel at 0800hrs. The manager was brilliant in allowing a very early check in by 0830 hours. Normal check in time is 1400hrs. We really appreciated the early check in as we had been travelling all day. Breakfast was absolutely brilliant.

Had a great stay, very relaxing and rooms clean and well presented, but overall the resort is starting to look tired and not well maintained - swimming pools were dirty, filters blocked etc, no resort maps available anywhere so difficult to find our way around, draught taps in casino bars not working, ashtrays in casino not cleaned despite it not being very busy, tiles in restaurant broken and chipped not being repaired, water leak from ceiling so wet towels laid out on the floor, hotel lift not working, aviary a sorry state (hotel manager and concierge didn't even know what an aviary is let alone where it is!), tennis courts in need of resurfacing....lots of things that on their own not such an issue but combined don't paint a great picture. On the plus side, staff were friendly and helpful where they could be. Still, disappointing for a hotel that claims to be a 4 star hotel.

Valley of waves was under maintenance, no waves and was not informed of this. Still waiting for someone to come replace the safe after having them try twice to fix it, so no safe to lock valuables. No WiFi and complained multiple times and even spoke to the IT team that asked me to wait in the room and had no one show, then left my number for them to call me or I would even go to the office. Still waiting for the call, had no WiFi for the trip. Toilet did not flush properly and drains for basin and bath took ages to drain. Sliding door did not lock and just had a little catch and the screws were not tight. There was a door in the room that linked to the next room, it would vibrate each time the people next door moved past it and you could here all their business and activities. The staff are very friendly , sad about the services and lack of maintenance. No WiFi , no waves at the valley of waves, no safe, sliding door not locking , noisy room, no maintenance……

Overall a good experience. Amenities/activities are plenty. But the room needs attention…. Mold in the bathroom, cabinets show wear(peeling wood)
Carpets in the hallways show wear as well.
I could tell that once this was a gorgeous facility. I understand that the pandemic hit hard, but I’m not sure that these things weren’t present pre-pandemic

The people in room 513 was very noisy until late at night making it difficult to sleep. On the casino floor it was difficult to get someone to assist with the machine when it jammed. Otherwise the stay was excellent and enjoyed the breakfast which was as good as always

Covid rules were not universally applied (sometimes the bus would get sanitised while you wait but mostly not, sometimes you were allowed to sit next to your family members on the bus and sometimes not). Rooms were clearly never vacuumed. Room service food is definitely not recommended. To add insult to injury, Sun international started offering a 4-day stay for the price of 3 days at The Palace which worked out cheaper than the 3 days I paid for at SoHo. Wish I could get my money back and go holiday somewhere else.....

Terrible client service, run down, and overpriced

The cleanliness of the room was not 100%. The hotel and room are run down, especially considering the price. I had a terrible client service experience. They forgot to take my credit card imprint at check in. After I put my dinner on the room and went to bed, the reception called me so I go back down to give my credit card imprint, I asked if I could do it in the morning because I was in bed already, the employee did not answer my question and went on to repeat the whole reason why I had to do it. She finally said after I requested an answer to my question that I had to come down that night, which I did. No effort was made to accommodate me or compensate for their mistake.

Overall Great stay

What was extraordinary about our stay was the seriousness with which the whole resort is taking cleanliness given the covid19 situation. There was an abundance of hand sanitizer and the staff were visibly cleaning and ensuring that spread of germs was not going to be an issue.

Staff at soho were very courteous and efficient and the room was comfortable and clean.

My only criticism was the Bocada restaurant at the Cascades. The prices of food are exceptionally excessive whilst the food itself was exceptionally average. The ambience needs to be improved as does the service of the staff.

Could not enjoy breakfast because of all the bees around the food. Had to fend off allot of bees while eating. The room was not four star quality and was very dissatisfied. Had to move rooms because the sliding glass door leading out on the terrace had a broken latch which did not add to our comfort. The sliding door of the bathroom also had a broken latch. Overall the price did not match the expectations.

Enjoyable holiday that is only 2 hours outside of jo’burg. Convenient and well located. Kids love the destination.

The hotel is not value for money. We had a horrible smell in the room and the luxury room they advertised it to be is very far from it. I asked for non smoking and I was in a smoke smelling room. We were next to the lift and it was noisy all night. We could hear music from downstairs while in the room. I would be happy to receive a refund.

The hotel needs an urgent makeover. Carpets are old and dirty, elevators were not working, we had to use stairs which were in terrible conditions, walls were dirty, bed sheets had holes and the hotel service is really slow.

Incredibly pleasant stay at Soho Sun

My daughter and I spent 5 wonderful nights at this hotel in Sun City. We had an unforgettable time as we visited the Chrocodile Park, the Lost City, the Valley of the Waves, Pilanesburg Park and more. We enjoyed the music and night life at the Vibes, the Legends, the Shebeen and the Encore. We were amazed at how safe we felt at all times with security staff visible and extremely pleasant when we chatted with some of them. Everyone was so incredibly friendly and we had the feeling that the staff was both well trained and treated well. We will be coming back to Sun City for the most superb holiday experience we have had so far.

I am travelling a lot overseas, staying in a lot of hotels worldwide, this was most certainly the worst service at reception I have ever experienced. There were only 2 people in front of us, but it took us longer than 1 hour to check in. For a hotel on this standard and rate, one would expect some form of welcoming, after all he had a 7 rooms booking. Even my overseas clients said that the service at reception is bad.

Great location for adventure.

It takes about 2.5 hours drive from OR tambo airport. The room size is reasonably big and clean. Location is great where day time go sight seeing or game drive and at night try your luck at the casino. Good to self drive with a car in the Pilanesberg national park. We took 2 days driving 6-7 hours a day to complete the area. Great experience seeing Rhino, Zebra, Buffalos, elephants, wild boars, Kudu, antelopes as close as 5-10 feet beside your car. Managed to see some Lions, Giraffes, Hippo, crocodile from a distance. If you like adventure, try the hot air balloon experience which is awesome seeing the animals from above. Need to start at 5.00am and costly at 4250 rand per person for ONE hour ride flight. Need at least minimum 4 people to fly.

Really neat resort, a lot to do, gorgeous golf...But the hotel never informed us that the entire Entertainment Center was closed due to construction! To top it off we took the shuttle to the center the driver never informed us that it was closed and left a full bus load of people to walk back to the hotel.

We booked a family room but it was overbooked. They put us in the presidential Suite so it couldn't be better than that. Breakfast was ok. Because it was so busy there where lines and sometimes you must wait for the refills etc but quality of food was good and enough choice. The area around the pool was not clean. Lot of empty plates and glasses on the ground. Only 2 girls walked around but often they didn't take the plates and glasses. It is a nice hotel but not the Palace :)

The hotel is a bit over priced, with the way the services and hotel condition is in...
Our stay was nothing great, plus it was made worst by rude staff. We had to call the attention of the manager Julius with regards to a very arrogant and insulting staffs they had.
Julius, was very much respectful and highly commendable for taking our complain in a positive way and giving us our dues back.
