Great hotel for families about 25-30 min from the city of Tangier depending on traffic. Every morning there was an array of breakfast items at the buffet and for lunch and dinner all restaurants on the resort property had options for everyone from traditional Moroccan cuisine to American favorites like burgers and french fries. The in-room dining was on time and the selection and availability was perfect. The spa was fantastic and the staff were always willing to help. The grounds of the resort were well-maintained and the beach and pool lounge options were adequate. There is a restaurant down by the beach and the poolside restaurant and bar were always staffed.

The location is excellent for those guests looking to rest a lot. It's a bit annoying the difficulties to find transportation immediately, as the only option is a free ride to downtown at 10am. No taxis or cabs in the vicinity, so the only option is to request in advance a ride to downtown, for a $100. A bit expensive.
Some inconvenients during the rush hour for breakfast, as was very difficult to find a clean table. However, after I informed the administration, immediately measures were taken, to solve the problem, at least partially. Personally, appreciated the gesture and the commitment to help from the staff.
If you want to stay at this hotel for a few days, consider to rent a car. The traffic is not too heavy and the roads in good condition. Going to the downtown area by car takes 40 minutes. The beach looks great, but, unfortunately, still very cold and windy in March. I am sure that should be great in summer.

I loved this property, everyone was friendly and helpful.
The only thing I would focus on is the bathroom shower…mine had a bit of mildew in the corners and the water from the shower was coming out. I reported it so hopefully they’ll take care of that. Other than this the hotel is beautiful and I will definitely come back and recommend it. I loved it!

Our stay was a mix of highlights and disappointments. The hotel itself is beautiful, with tasteful architecture, spacious grounds, and a large pool that was never crowded. The quiet pool was especially relaxing, and the strong security presence made us feel safe. Our room was spacious, spotless, and well maintained, and the cleaning staff were excellent.

Dining was a highlight. The buffet dinner was phenomenal, with a wide selection and delicious made-to-order sushi, including vegetarian options on request. The buffet staff were friendly and attentive, and the dinner view was lovely.

Service elsewhere was inconsistent. Staff in the sports bar were amazing, always attentive and helpful, but the pool bar was slow, often opening late and requiring multiple trips to the counter to order.

The outdoor seating and loungers needed better cleaning, with stains and bird droppings visible, especially near the smaller pool. The beach area also needed attention, with some litter, older sunbeds, and the bar closed during our stay.

Drinks were quite expensive, though happy hour at the sports bar was fair. Our pre-booked airport transfer never arrived, so we took a cheaper street cab.

Overall, it was a relaxing stay in a lovely setting, with great food and some wonderful staff, but uneven service and cleanliness issues meant it did not offer full value for money.

The hotel itself is beautiful. Definitely worth a visit. Like a lot of similar resorts in Morocco, I think the food is overpriced for what you get. But this is common here. Unfortunately, after visiting many places in this beautiful country, the level of littering on public beaches (including those on either side of this resort) is heartbreaking.

Location - Out the way. Hotel runs shuttle bus to the city at specific time, pick up and return once a day. Pre booking is required. Taxi fare can be expensive from hotel to city centre.

Hotel - The hotel grounds are beautiful. Relaxing and calm atmosphere. Great swimming pools and not to deep. Kids had great fun. The beach is a few steps away which is convenient, alot of plastic washed on to the sand which was a shame other than that i really enjoyed my walks along beach.

Half Board - breakfast and dinner - a good selection of cuisines. Lunch which was not included in HB. We instead bought from their poolside restaurant \"Toucan\". Expect to pay more than UK prices. Magarita pizza was good however chicken and pesto was bland with rip off price. Also their idea of a Taco is a Wrap! Avoid this as its over priced equivalent to £15.00 and tasted bland!. I wouldnt mind paying the price considering we had no access to any other restaurant however the flavours need to match the extotionate prices!.

Staff- The recep staff are ok but feel they can be better. Spoke little English, explaining things was quite difficult. One paticular staff sits at the desk area was very rude and was insensitive when asked about medical attention.

All other staff were extremely friendly,polite and hard working. The hotel should be lucky to have them. Shout out to outlet manager, EL Moataz EL Haddalahi for ensuring we were comfortable and cheked in to see if were having a good day.

Great hotel - Long check in process

We arrived at 2:30 PM to check in, but it took a while for our room to be ready. From 2:30 to 4:00 PM, we were checking with the reception, and they informed us the room was not yet available. At 4:00 PM, a kind member of the reception team noticed us resting in the lobby and asked if anyone had assisted us. We explained that we had completed the check-in process and were waiting for our room. She returned to apologize that the check-in would take a bit longer, as the rooms were still not ready. The team kindly offered us welcome drinks, which was a thoughtful gesture.

At 4:40 PM, we finally received our room. After that, our stay was a great experience. We did notice some ants in the room, but it did not affect our stay. A special thank you to Hasna in the main restaurant for her positive energy and excellent cooperation—it truly made our experience even better.

Overall, a pleasant stay with attentive staff who made us feel welcome.

We were so excited for this stop on our Moroccan trip. However this hotel turned out to be a a very big disappointment.
We were only able to get one of our two rooms ready a few minutes before check in. We were told that the other room would be ready shortly but we never got the keys. We had to make our way to the reception desk to get the keys.
We decided to have a late lunch at the poolside restaurant. The service was lackluster to say the least.
The food was even worse. My kids ordered chicken nuggets and they smelled very off. The prices were outrageous. Water cost 5 times the amount outside of the resort.

When we finally got our room it was a king accessible. Avoid this room at all cost. The bathroom is an accident waiting to happen. The entire shower area was open to the bathroom. No separation whatsoever. We asked the front desk about this since the entire bathroom got wet from a shower. They said that’s the way the room is designed. It’s a terrible design.

The bathroom became a slippery hazard for my kids.
My brother who was a few doors down asked the front desk to send a shower curtain which they promised to do. Needless to say we never received it. I even asked the reception to which they replied that it was too late and they didn’t want to disturb us.

Food at the buffet for both dinner and breakfast was also disappointing. Not for lack of variety but lack of flavor.

The only saving grace for this hotel is the beautifully kept grounds.

The only negative thing about this property is the clientele it attracts. Its mostly rich but low class people, with a healthy dose of Karens complaining about everything and bothering the staff. Nothing the hotel can do anything about it.

This resort is close to Tanger . About 20km . It makes it a perfect getaway for the weekend to enjoy the beautiful Atlantic Ocean beach and the hotel’s beautiful gardens and pools. The buffet breakfast was sumptuous and food fresh. The staff go out of their way to make you feel special . I highly recommend this place. They fo offer a day pass too. Hilton Al Houara is a visually stunning hotel with beautiful landscaping and architecture, but unfortunately, the service and hospitality fall short of a true 5-star experience. We arrived at 7 AM after a long journey, yet despite booking half-board, we weren’t allowed to have breakfast and had to wait until 4 PM for check-in — a poor welcome that lacked flexibility and care.

Throughout our stay, we felt restricted rather than relaxed. The pool was often dirty, breakfast was limited and repetitive, and while dinner was enjoyable, the service felt inconsistent. Some guests were clearly prioritised over others, with staff showing favouritism. The hostess at the Argan restaurant, in particular, was dismissive and unwelcoming.

The hotel’s remote location — nearly an hour from Tangier’s city centre — made getting around inconvenient. Basic amenities like water were also stingy, with only two small bottles provided per day.

What felt most disheartening was the treatment on our last day. It genuinely felt like the staff stopped caring simply because we were checking out. For a resort that markets itself as luxury, the lack of consistent hospitality and warmth left us disappointed. A beautiful property with potential, but currently not living up to the 5-star standard.

The property is beautiful and location. Just my services experience was so so. When check-In there wasn’t enough details. They welcomed me and checked in. But didn’t tell me the dining options didn’t tell me what the hotel had to offer. I had to find out each day an ask several times. Didn’t show the price nothing is told upfront . Even checking out ,not printing out and going over receipt. If you want to bring outside food you can but signing a liability form.. which all is ok just being proactive with information in the beginning so I’m not feeling surprised or concerned. Maybe there was some activity’s I missed / event because lack on knowledge.
There is no pamphlet flyer nothing. Shouldn’t have to do so much digging for information

I recently stayed at the Hilton Tangier Al Houara Resort & Spa and overall had a lovely experience. The resort is undeniably beautiful — from the well-maintained grounds to the clean and stylish interiors, everything felt inviting and peaceful. It’s an ideal spot for a relaxing getaway.

Our double bedroom was comfortable and tidy, but we did run into a recurring issue with the bathroom. The shower area had a flat floor with no proper incline or separation, which caused water to flow out and flood the toilet area every time we showered. It’s a design flaw that really affected the convenience of the space and definitely something that could use improvement.

On a more positive note, the staff were consistently warm, attentive, and professional. Their friendliness truly enhanced our stay and made us feel welcome.

One aspect that disappointed me was the limited coffee options. The only choice available was Starbucks, which felt out of place in such a luxurious setting — not to mention problematic, given current boycott concerns. A broader selection of coffee choices, including local or independent alternatives, would be a meaningful and much-appreciated addition.

All in all, Hilton Tangier Al Houara has a lot going for it — stunning surroundings, a high standard of cleanliness, and excellent staff. With a few adjustments, especially in the bathroom design and food/beverage offerings, it could easily reach the next level.

Property itself is beautiful and feels like a luxury stay but the service provided is not consistent with that feeling
Issues with checking in where tried to change rooms and willing to pay difference but kept being told could switch to suite. Hotel website as well as 2 other 3rd party sites had multiples of the room available.
Friend in our group - her parents had make all the room bookings and her name listed on room but they would not allow her to check into room until whole party that had booked arrived.
Missing bath towels from the room and took 1 hour to be delivered and room was located next to supply room.
At fine dining restaurant, they forgot some of our orders. Never acknowledged they forgot. Told us it was ready and waited almost and hour for it to arrive and then when asked to cancel order as now 11pm they refused and said it was ready. Provided tea to “make up” for delay.

The resort was beautiful! Everyone was very kind. The housekeeping did a good job. The massage was amazing. We had one amazing waiter at dinner and we really enjoyed him. The concierge service was fabulous. The food was good.

The jacuzzi was not working. The pool says heated online but wasn’t. The breakfast buffet was very crowded. Every morning there were birds eating from the buffet. No one was assisting with seating. The staff could not keep up with the dishes. The line for eggs should be relocated.

The hotel is very clean and there are plenty of staff around when you need them.
Food in the restaurants, especially the buffet restaurant is good value and varied.
Our room was spotlessly clean but despite maintenance attending there was a leak from the toilet throughout.
We used the spa and had a hammam and massage which was good but the facilities and rooms are dated and there is a damp smell in the rooms.
We did not see any major damp as in some previous reviews but they were painting and renovating some areas.
The hotel is quite remote but a free shuttle is provided to Tangier if you require it.
Overall we were looking for a relaxing weekend to escape the winter cold and we had a nice stay. We were given a late check out for our later flight and would recommend to others wanting a relaxing break.

Highly recommend this hotel, it’s about a 20 min drive to the port of tangier. The staff was lovely and kind. The only thing I would complain about is the pricing at the bar. Moroccan mint tea was 60 MAD everywhere else is normally 15 MAD. And they never had tea in the buffet it was always empty. The buffet was amazing, lots of options. the resort is stunning, and big. Our room was always spotless.
We also golfed at the resort there, it’s a very nice course. If I ever come back to tangier I will stay here 100 percent. Thanks for a wonderful stay Hilton.

We came back to this hotel after having stayed when it first opened four years ago and I’m not sure if it was the off season that contributed or just really not being well taken care of in the four years but the condition was really sad to see. So many broken doors, appliances, lights on balconies, ants and bugs everywhere - while the front desk was sorry they also stated this is to be expected during off season. I’m shocked that bugs would be part of an expectation during any season. No additional food options besides spaghetti and chicken nuggets, highly advise spending your money somewhere else. Just a big bust and will stay in Tangier proper next time with less of a pricey stay!

Excellent property. Clean rooms. Only negative is the service provided at the buffet breakfast and buffet dinner at Argan restaurant— staff did not attend to tables to provide beverages; staff had to be asked repeatedly for basic drinks like water or coffee. Food often ran out before the closing of the buffet service.
Rest of the hotel property was beautiful and amazing.

Exceptional property of which the architectural design and layout are what one envisions when thinking of Morocco. The staff -- front of house and back of house -- were all superb in carrying out their respective duties and the collective mission of the hotel.

Simple and effective architecture. Beautiful hotel with a phenomenal golf course and golf training facility. We were however quite disappointed with the limited dining options. For a 5 star hotel a small dinner buffet as the only dinner option is not enough. In addition, the breakfast buffet was also fairly limited. A good benchmark for this hotel's standing would be the Hyatt Regency in Taghazout. Al Houara falls pretty short of that unfortunately. I would definitely come back to this resort but only for the golf. The prices for accommodation and food are not a good enough value in my opinion.

I have had a poor guest experience in Hilton due to some scams such as we got told that there was a heated swimming pool but there was not. they told us there were no rooms next to each other. they wanted more money. we threatened to give a bad review and miraculously they had a room next to each other. they wanted 1000 euros deposit for a mini bar which did not exist. I did have some fun such as the parking attendant made me happy and on the beach near by there were quad bikes also the beach was beautiful. I also had fun doing the bungee jumping and additional activities. The pool was really dirty and room service clean the room with a dirty mop the bathroom and bedroom had spiders in it . The bathroom had a leaking hand bidet . Room service were slow but they were friendly ,welcoming as well there beds were comfy and there pillows .In the room they had a telephone but the button was stuck so I told room service to change it and air conditioning was good, the rooms were at a good size . I had a nice experience in there spa it was hot and relaxing they had a sauna and they had a jacuzzi and a hammam.

The property was beautiful with the rooms having a large amount of space. We visited in the winter and can see this is definitely a summer destination hotel as there was nothing to do in the colder months. The staff was very friendly and the food was great. Oddly enough the room service menu was better than the dining options and less expensive. Our only complaint is the hotel is located 25mins from Tangier and getting into the city was expensive and time-consuming.

Incredible hotel service and staff

One of the best hotels I’ve stayed at. Mariam the hotel general manager was an absolute diamond. And amazing customer service, Karima who works at the bar at nights was very helpful and friendly and all the cleaners done an amazing job. Clean hotel will definitely recommend and stay again
