This has been my go-to Hotel when visiting Tampico but this time I had a bad experience.
All the staff were courteous but not the most efficient, there was only one receptionist at the check in time and at least 4 people waiting in line. The AC in the room malfunctioned since day 1, couldn't lower the temperature, called the desk and they lowered it from their end, on day 2 the AC wouldn't even turn on, they changed my room TWICE because of that.
Parking on these premises can be hard because of the restaurants in there.

When I booked the room, I paid for the top option, thinking that I would get a room with a front view, but it didn't work that way. According to the reservation, breakfast was included; however, when I went down for breakfast, the options were limited. If I wanted eggs or real breakfast food, I was charged each day. Cleanliness in the room was good, the halls and other places were average. The hotel needs some remodeling; the elevators are small. In terms of service, the personnel were good.

I booked this hotel specifically because of the airport shuttle. However, I learned that the shuttle only operates after 6am. I was very disappointed! This should be disclosed up front. International flights leave very early in the morning. Thus, the shuttle service should be provided accordingly, if indeed they want to advertise it. Otherwise it’s just a trap!

The room was pretty clean but small. the bed was not terrible but could be better, the bathroom was very small probably the smallest l have ever seen. The breakfast had fruit cereal bread no hot food unless you order from the menu the staff was nice would I stay there again probably not there are a lot better hotels for just a little more money

Me toco llegar al hotel y no había ningún lugar de estacionamiento porque estaba llena la plaza de personas de los bares de al rededor y tuve que esperar por más de media hora para tener un lugar dentro de la plaza, cierran a las 2 am los restaurante aprox así que si llevas auto tomar eso en cuenta.

Great new hotel with central air by all the great things Tampico has to offer but upon arrival from a very long trip there was absolutely no towels. After the shower I waited 45 minutes to receive one towel for two people. Made me very angry as my girlfriend waited without clothes very wet untill they finally brought another one. Just one. First room had pubic hair in the bed and the second room’s lights were not working. They flickered when they did work which caused me to have a seizure. I checked out as soon as I came to from my seizure. I will never stay at a City Express Plus or City Express.

Its a brand new place so it is in excellent condition and the beds are still perfect and very comfortable.
There are some small issues however - in 2 different rooms I had, the shower door swing was wrong so you couldn't place the bath mat on the floor. Which is necessary because there is no real slope to the shower stall, so the water just pours out onto the bathroom floor.
Many coworkers of mine commented on low water pressure as well.
The rooms are a generous size with nice touches like USB ports, LAN ports and HDMI port for the flatscreen TV. The lighting is perhaps a bit dim however.
The AC units are very modern and quite quiet.

Here are the only problems I found with the property:
1. The address is wrong and I was sent to different locations using my google maps.

Although still not 100% completed, open only a for a week, the hotel hinted to what type of hotel guest will completely enjoy. Everything was 1st class. Rooms were equal in luxury to some of the nicer hotels in the states. world class shopping and food court to come. The free breakfast was great also. A little bit of everything, especially great tasting Mexican food. Plan on coming back next year for our annual Tampico visits.

BUscaba de amenidad un kit de costura y me dijeron que no tenian pero que en la maquina expendedora que estaba en el lobby. Cuando fui el costo era de 30pesos y seleccioné el producto y me dio una lata de refresco y volvi a poner el dinero y me decia que era de 65 pesos y no estaba marcado en ese precio, no agarraba billetes y pedi cambio en recepción.. Ellos no se hacen responsables de la maquina y no pueden ayudarte.
Compré el kit de costura en 65 pesos cuando marcaba 30 en la maquina.
Lo triste es que el personal no te ayuda y no te da soluciones.

El personal no fue atento, reserve mi transporte al aeropuerto con tiempo, un dia antes, 2 veces pregunte si todo estaba bien con mi transporte dijeron que si, 1 hora despues del horario acordado pregunte de nuevo y la chica del mostrador me dijo lo ciento el chofer esta en su descanso, no tienen buena comunicacion con el cliente y no son amables todos con cara de limon 😫

Todo bien, el hotel es nuevo y limpio. Las habitaciones sí son muy pequeñas, incluyendo el baño, pero todo bien. Tiene una excelente ubicación y muchos lugares en la misma zona, incluyendo BBVA y Oxxo a escasos metros de la entrada en el mismo estacionamiento de la plaza en onde está.
La alberca estaba algo descuidada (con muchos bichitos) pero no sucia. Un buen servicio en recepción.

El personal del hotel es amable. La temperatura de la habitación es regulada por el hotel y es muy incómodo. El desayuno incluido no incluye huevo, ni chilaquiles, mejoraría si incluyera todo. Las habitaciones están limpias y cómodas, sin embargo nos tocó una regadera que no tenía buena pendiente y se inundaba todo el baño.
Había humedad y hongos en nuestro techo de la habitación, resultando en un olor extraño.
