The rooms and facilities are beautiful and the staff very generous with their time and very friendly. The rooms are very nicely appointed and the views stunning. We had a private monkey and sloth tour, which was really cool.

The downsides are that the lodge is isolated so you are a captive audience for an absurdly expensive menu for lunch and dinner. In addition, the lobby can be up to a 10 minute walk up and down a lot of steps from your bungalow, making it a small trek every time you want to get to the lobby.

It's very expensive by Nica standards overall and, while beautiful, don't expect an \"authentic\" experience.

Magnificent

There are sextrillion stars in the universe, more than every grain of sand on earth, I would give them all to this Eco lodge. Morgan's Rock is the best Eco lodge in Nicaragua for those who are seeking peace and quiet and unique. I want to express a special mention about the staff. The staff members service is exquisite. The passion of their work is reflected through the smile they all have. I'm beyond grateful and privileged to experience their lovely work. Morgan's Rock without that kind of staff would be like any other place.

Morgans Rock was one of the two hotels I had researched. I wanted to get away from the crowds, be out in nature and Morgans Rock fit.

Choosing Morgans Rock turned out to be a good decision. I arranged roundtrip airport transportation through the lodge, and the driver was waiting for us with cold water. The property was very well landscaped and between the size of the property and private beach the place felt very exclusive.

I booked Villa #2 for my mother and me so that we could have our own spaces and still be close. Each villa was a mirror image of the other and had an outdoor deck/ seating and a plunge pool. The rooms were like large studios with their own entry, sitting area, and a bathroom with indoor and outdoor showers.

A few issues we ran into were: the locks on the doors were faulty, there was water leaking from the ceiling, and the thatched roofs had holes that let rain in. Despite these issues, the staff did an amazing job of making up for them. The bartenders made good drinks and had great conversations. The lodge has Spa and tour services available onsite with an amazing masseuse and tour guide.

Even with the needed improvements the place was very nice and enjoyable.

fantastic property, at a reasonable driving distance from San Juan del sur, and near 2 beautiful beaches. has its own de facto private beach, which is amazing. super friendly staff, excellent restaurant. the setting is exceptional: my room was isolated in the hill, with a private pool and had incredible views in all directions. would definitely return.

Amazing views, nice private beach and not a lot of people which makes it relaxing.
Getting to the place is a bit rough; need to drive around 10km of dirt road.
I understand the eco thing going on but, very little privacy in the rooms and extremely noisy at night and in the morning due to the insects and birds.

Excellent balance of luxury and immersion in nature. Key things to know: stunning beach where we never saw more than 2 other guests, the cabanas are open to the wind and sounds of nature but the way they are secured with screens and sealed doors resulted in zero insect visitors (and the wind and cooling unit over the bed provided for a very comfortable temp), and there will be a need to traverse many steps throughout the day. Lastly, the views here are unlike anything we’ve experienced before. If you want a stunning tropical sunset then you can’t do better than Morgan’s Rock

Beautiful and quiet place to be close to nature and relax. Only consideration is that you need to be able to climb some serious stairs to get to some of the cabins, so if you have issues with this, better to ask the staff before reserving.

The property is simply massive and out in the jungle. The hotel is on its own private bay and the rooms have incredible views. The sunsets were epic. And the staff went above and beyond every day I was there with an amazing attitude and a smile. I am a spoiled and discerning traveler and I stay at a lot of Aman, Banyan Tree, Ritz Carlton’s etc. This is an ecolodge so you will find some things are a little different but after spending 7 days here with my wife I can really say I had a special experience at Morgan’s Rock. It’s a unique place that the owners care for with love and the desire to share it with others. There are monkeys, sloths and all kinds of amazing animals also. I never write reviews but in a world saturated with luxury Oceanside hotels my experience there was special and worth writing about. Definitely a place to relax.

The surrounding natural area is fabulous, 3 kinds of monkeys, sloths, owls, raccoons, all easy to spot all over the property. Views are stunning. If you love nature, you’ll love it here. Food/drinks excellent and tour guides are informative and interesting. Shout out to Andy!

Great views! Very clean and modern. Eco lodge that offers a lot and lots of comfort! Staff was friendly and helpful. Even brought room service when I wasn’t feeling well. One of the most spectacular views of the sunset I have seen! The country is very safe but even if you were concerned this is sooo off the beaten track and self sustainable - I would go now while it’s still affordable.

This ecolodge made out trip to Nicaragua. The view from our bungalow was spectacular and the staff knew our names. They found out it was our honeymoon and supposed us with a dinner on the beach lit by tiki torches. The food was some of the best food I have ever had. I would go back in a heartbeat.

Great escape from the busy life!

The staff here is overall one of the best that I have experienced at any place that I've traveled. They are extremely friendly, very relaxed (which rubs off on you), and very attentive to your wants or needs. One of the most beautiful and private beaches that I have ever experienced. My wife commented that its like Fantasy Island.

Quiet jungle sanctuary

Beautiful jungle location with delicious food. You have to pay to play though which was a little disappointing. We paid way too much for transfers and trips into different beaches as we later found out when we stayed down the road in Playa Maderas. Every extra activity was minimum double the price of all other boutique hotels we stayed at in Nicaragua. The beach at Morgans rock is amazing and the staff are so friendly. Be prepared to walk up many stairs and listen to all the animals in the jungle. This location is perfect if you want to stick to yourself and get away from it all in a beautiful jungle and quiet beach area. This is an isolated location pretty far from any surf or town.

Morgans rock is a very nice hotel, acomadstions very nice, air conditioned bed was perfect, much better than most \"eco\" hotels, lots of friendly staff but not very interactive. We had car so trips to maderas and San Jain del sir were easy and gave respite from the isolation at morgans rock. Prices were very high for Nicaragua.

272 steps every time you need to get service

The picture is misleading. Our room had excellent views but nowhere close to the beach. A beetle launched itself in my kids hair and refused to come out. Rooms are so dimly lit you can't see anything. Terrible experience. The lodge is 5 kilometers from the front gate so there is no chance of getting into town. If you went for breakfast, lunch and dinner it is over 1500 steps. No room service. Bugs in the room.

Wonderful location

Morgan's rock has a wonderful location in tropical forest overlooking its own beach on the Pacific Ocean. The rooms are to a high standard and beautifully positioned but note that for environmental reasons there is no a/c only fans. We did not like the open bathrooms. We are fit and enjoyed the long walks through the forest from restaurant to cabin. For the seriously unfit it could be a nightmare :200 steps to the beach. Great opportunities to see wildlife and guided trips were excellent. Restaurant staff were nice but woefully undertrained. Food was good. I trust you have removed the ludicrous warning that you might be expected to share. you might as well warn those booking a room at the Ritz that they might have to share their bedroom.Overall a wonderful experience for fit people who don't mind a few rough edges.

A wonderful get away

Morgan's Rock is a wonderful place to get away from it all. You will need to take a two and a half taxi ride to the ecolodge but it is definitely worth it. Also note that Nicaragua is in the northern hemisphere, therefore their winter is our winter. I say this because the rainforest is a thorn forest dry and deciduous in the winter and spring until the rains. Because of this the howler monkeys are very easy to spot, as well as some of the other wildlife.

El hotel es increible, la propiedad , la playa privada , la paz y tranquilidad, la villa es simplemente perfecta, muy bien construida con ventilacion ,vista , privacidad y espacio. La comida es 100 veces superior a lo que comimos durante nuestro viaje a Nicaragua. El personal es muy amable. Un 100 , me encantaria volver.

Wir haben 2 Nächte in 2 verschiedenen Lodges verbracht. No 1 Forest Lodge (Fantastisch Easy Access) No 9 mit wunderschönen Aussicht aufs Meer und Atemberaubenden Sonnenuntergang.
Das Personal sowie auch die Besitzer (Familie Ponçon) sind extrem gastfreundlich. Für uns ist es sicher der Beste Aufenthalt in Nigaragua und wir werden sicher wieder zurückkommen

Tuve un accidente en el cuarto me caí debido a que no hay seguridad e n la caída me lastime mi brazo y mi rodilla,en fin fue una experiencia terrible el camino es pura tierra llenas de piedras duras más de una hora en llegar al hotel desde la carretera principal al hotel.
Reporte mi caída el día que llegue y no se preocuparon como estaba hasta el día siguiente

Bungalow extraordinário, mas serviço a melhorar

O nosso bungalow é absolutamente extraordinário com uma vista de tirar o fôlego.
No entanto para a categoria e preço do hotel algumas coisas que gostava de apontar de forma a que melhorem o serviço ao cliente:
Comida
A comida não está alinhada com o nível do hotel.
A-Pequeno almoço
O pequeno é bastante fraco.
Mas valia terem um serviço a lá carte e a pessoa escolhia na hora o que queria e assim asseguravam que se mantém em bom estado. Desta forma, muitas vezes a comida apresentada já não está em condições (ovos, pão, panquecas, iogurtes).
Por exemplo, o pão que é servido ao jantar (ainda quente) é claramente melhor do que o rijo do pequeno almoço. Por outro lado não há quase nada para por no pão ou panquecas. Como não há manteiga,fiambre, doce, abacate, tomate etc?
Jantar
No primeiro dia pedi o prato vegetariano que basicamente se resumia a um monte de cebola e húmus.
Houve um dia ao jantar que pedi sushi e a experiência não foi a melhor. Talvez o pior sushi que já comi. E o molho de soja idem. Se não sabe fazer sushi, não faça! E se não tem talheres para sushi não o ponha na carta. Como se pode comer sushi sem pauzinhos?
Outra coisa que reparei: tal como eu na mesa ao lado reclamaram também do sushi. Mas continuaram a servi-lo em outras mesas. Isto não me parece correto.
Eco lodge
Dizem que isto é um ecolodge. Mas talvez uma das coisas básicas, que até os hotéis que não se assumem como eco fazem, é a separação de resíduos.

Öko- Lodge vom Feinsten!

Wir haben drei wundervolle Tage in einem etwas abgelegenen Zimmer - Nr 12- verbracht. Der geniale Blick über die Bucht hat die rd. 300 Stufen die wir vom Strand zum Beachbungalow überwinden mussten wieder gutgemacht. Allerdings bietet die offene Bauweise -Fliegengitter Schirmen das Gebäude nach außen ab- keine sinnvolle Einbaumöglichkeit für eine AC, so dass wir Nachts etwas geschwitzt haben. Zwar ist eine optisch gelungene, sehr leise Lüftung direkt über dem Bett, der prognostizierte Kühleffekt blieb aber vermutlich auch wegen unseres selbst mitgebrachten und installierten Moskitonetzes so gut wie aus.
