Excellent Location

Room size is perfect and balcony views are excellent. Nice property, clean and well maintained. Staff are good. Food is good but price is little bit high.

Very good location, beautiful views and good room.

We had a good stay in the hotel. However, the food quality needs to improve a bit, eg. a toaster should be kept in the breakfast room, so that fresh toast can be made and not hard toasts made in advance.

We had a wonderful time at this resort ...best for family ....kids enjoyed the open spaces, trees and the playing garden at the resort. If you love to wake up to the tunes of humming birds...KTDC tea county is the place to be in.....only area of improvement would be with the food variety they provide.

Comfortable hotel, close to city centre

KTDC Tea County is an excellent property with a beautiful landscape, well appointed rooms. Each block and each room at different levels, provide a good view. Staffs were courteous. Housekeeping services were up to the mark. Nice place to have a relaxed holiday. Close to Munnar town centre and to the market, at the same time away from all the hustles and bustles as the property is located high up on the hill away from the main road. The food is also good and the buffet has a reasonable spread.

Stay is comfortable. Room heater was noisy, hotel staff was kind in replacing but heater noise continued. Breakfast was excellent. Food during dinner was also very good. Local Kerala cuisine was not available.
Coffee and tea rate could have been reasonable.

Feedback on F&B Manager Swaminathan

We booked 4 nights and 5 days at the hotel. The rooms were big and comfortable. However, we had major complaints with the F&B section of the hotel. To start off, we had issues communicating with staff who mostly understood only Malayalam. We are South paws and speak Kannada and Tamil yet found it impossible at most times to get through to the hotel staff. On the day of arrival we had lunch at the restaurant and we found the vegetables used to cook the food to be stale. The F&B manager I think it was Mr. Swami or Swaminathan was an extremely rude person. He spke rudely to my wife when we were trying to explain to him the food request we were making and how his serving staff just did not understand our simple food request. We later reported this to the hotel management. The behaviour of Swamy was so bad that we decided to cut short our trip by a day and checked out of the hotel a day before scheduled check out. The manager at the hotel tried his best to address the issue and assured that he would speak with the General Manager about this. I am not too sure of this would happen but would leave that in good faith. All in all good hotel room, good location, communication is a concern and F&B definitely needs to improve.

Great stay in Munnar

Really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The location is excellent - close enough to munnar town, but set in really beautiful grounds. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, very accommodating to our requests. Room furnishings are a bit dated, but it is kept clean. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel.

Fun time in KTDC Munnar

Best resort in the city, very clean, great view, overall nice property. I stayed in KTDC Kovallam last year and that was a bit better than in terms of food and cultural activities at night. Perhaps the cultural fest was only for last week of December. But good to see such clean govt maintained resorts.

Definitely it is a must place to stay when you visit Munnar, the location of the hotel is excellent, especially it has nice ambiance.

Whenever you ask something, you can see their staff will approach us with smiling face and a warm wishes.

Nice hotel comfortable at a price

Comfortable rooms located close to city good food a bit costly but worth it for the kind of ambience. Recommended plan for taxis for sight seeing as over all cost shoots up if.taxi is hired from the hotels travel desk . All in all a memorable experience.

Best place to stay in Munnar town

It was a pleasant May month when we visited Munnar and stayed in the hotel.
It rained the day we were in the town (may be it rains here throughout the year).
This did add to the fun that we were waiting to experience (Mist, Cool Breeze etc).
One can feel mother nature very closely by being well within the verandah of the hotel room.

I would say that we family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel.

Walking distance to Munnar, hotel in lovely ground

We stayed for three days in Munnar at KTDC Tea County and were happy and comfortable.
The staff were very helpful and the breakfast buffet was plentiful and varied.
Our view was great, and the hotels gardens and grounds were full of flowers and well maintained.

Beautiful place

This was a lovely place. We really enjoyed our 2 nights here. We had only breakfast. It was to our taste and liking. Did not have much of lunch or dinner. Lots of North Indian food in the menu. Hotel was beautiful and little up in the hill. Walkable to main town area (though the town was very crowded). Serene and beautiful from all over. Liked the people and the service. Beautiful Munnar. Can't ask for more.

Not worth high price

The cleanliness of the hotel was bad. The bed covers have stains on them. When we mentioned this to the cleaners they said these are permanent stains. Also, the dishes in the restaurant were not clean. The chairs in the reception and sitting and waiting room so bad and stains on them. I think the hotel does not deserve to be 4 star. However, the staff were good and helpful.

Pleasant stay

Being newcomers to Munnar, it was a little tricky locating this hotel but once we found it, we settled in very comfortably. Staff were polite and very helpful. Though a little pricey, the food was good with excellent varieties at the breakfast and dinner buffets.

Probably not for the budget holidaymaker but you definitely get what you pay for. Would definitely recommend.

Calm and cool place....well maintained garden with different varieties of flowers especially roses..v will get good frames for cameras..
The bird droppings in the wall and floor seems bad..but they try their best to keep it clean....

Good enough for an overnight stay

We stayed at KTDC Tea county for a night because our Devonshire Greens did not have a vacancy for the whole length of our stay. The ma I n good things about the hotel are the proximity to the Munnar market, complimentary breakfast and cleanliness of the property. However, it is an older hotel and has started to show its age especially the rooms. Overall, the hotel is good enough for a short stay but you could look at better properties like Devonshire Greens.

Surprising experience

I booked the rooms at the very last minute, ie, on the same day as we were to check in, since our trip was not planned in advance. I had apprehensions since KTDC is a government outfit. However, the experience in KTDC Tea County was very pleasant..courteous and helpful staff...clean and neat facilities, beautifully maintained gardens, imposing view of the hills, good food...I will definitely recommend this for family groups as well as couples seeking a romantic outing with privacy. I congratulate the staff for enabling us to have a great time in Munnar.

Not bad but has deceitful name

The name is deceitful. There is no tea plantation nearby, not visible from hotel, at least. The property is well maintained. The premium room was nice and big but there was mold growing just outside our room. Food is average quality but very very expensive. Room service is not prompt in delivering as well as removing, we saw used food trays outside rooms for hours before they were removed. Overall, not a \"wow\" place.

Best Choice For Anyone Visiting Munnar

I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Munnar. The ambiance was great, the rooms were tastefully decorated and were very comfortable, also the staff were very accommodating. The views form the hotel were quite beautiful, and the Hotel grounds were exquisitely landscaped. The food was good.
