Gorgeous hotel with an amazing view of the mountains in Munnar. I did a spa treatment while I was there which was also very nice. All the staff were lovely.

Sadly we didn’t have a nice stay at this hotel. The doubles rooms are let out to large families and as a result the property is full of children, screaming, shouting, squealing and running around . It’s awful ! Two children were playing on our private patio when we arrived and we had to move rooms . The breakfast is terrible, such poor quality with stale food so much so I didn’t eat anything and then didn’t attend for breakfast again ! When we checked out my husband went to lay the bill whilst I met our driver with bags and the security guard tried to prevent me from leaving and I had to tell him not to be so rude, we were not running away without paying and he could see my husband at reception but still tried to prevent me taking my suitcase to my driver ! Never have I been so insulted . Such rudeness ! Even when my husband said we hadn’t used the mini bar they made him wait in reception until they had sent someone to check . We are most insulted ! This is rude and unprofessional ! If I’ve used something I’ll pay for it, I won’t steal or runaway ! This is the second time I have stayed at a Fragrant Nature hotel but there will not be a third ! It is a holiday camp hotel for large families not a five star resort !

So much of noise in above floor and they are renovating the property, not able to sleep properly, so much drilling sounds and floor walking sounds, its not look like 5 star property and not good in room cleaning,

The experience was very pathetic. This property doesn't deserve to be a 5 star.
1. There's no-one at front desk during night to take your query/issue.
2. The food was tasteless and overpriced.
3. The showers were not working properly and no-one addressed it. You need to ask for dental kits and body lotions which should be provided by default.
4. The bar was not functional and they didn't inform about it earlier.
5. For any service at dining, you need to ask 3-4 times.
6. The games room is not at all maintained.
The staff has only 1 solution for all your problems \"We are sorry sir/ma'am\". Overall, it deserves even less than 1 star rating.

Well maintained resort with friendly, polite and courteous staff. From check-in to check-out, had an amazing experience. The valley view from the room was spectacular and the resorts green space was very well maintained.
Front desk staff greets you, escorts you to the room and politely shows the amenities in the room. Food at the buffet breakfast and dinner was delicious with a wide variety of Indian and continental dishes. The restaurant manager AkhiI and his staff provided excellent service. I also used the spa for a three day massage therapy. The massage therapist was very good and I felt rejuvenated after the session. Overall an excellent stay and will stay at this resort again.

The property is very tired. Despite only being 6 years old (so we were told) it looks more like a few decades old from the state of it - bubbling paint on walls, chips and cracks and just a bit dirty everywhere with old looking furniture and decor and a musty smell throughout. We stayed at the Fragrant Nature in Kochi and loved it. That’s why we chose to stay here in Munnar but it just hasn’t been looked after as well. All fixable though with a bit of love from hotel management. On the positive side the views were amazing and the walking activities were great with a knowledgeable guide. The food was good but not great for Kerala food (the bar is high though!) and the staff were very attentive - although being woken up both mornings by them calling our room to see if we were joining an activity or headed to breakfast was far from ideal.

Fragrant Nature is located on hill side. Location is superb. Rooms are spacious and well furnished, creating a very nice atmosphere. They have excellent SPA services. Food is nothing special but good.

This property has stunning views which in itself is a good enough reason to stay there. The staff were very nice and made our stay enjoyable. The property is a little tired and could do with some maintenance, particularly in the bedroom. The bedroom is a very generous size with fabulous views.

More than a little disappointing.

The hotel is impressive upon first glance, but when you look a little more closely, many things are not up to 5 star standards. Most staff were very pleasant and helpful, but we had only just arrived after a 5 hour drive and the tour organizer was hassling us to choose which activity we wanted to take part in, presumably because they are not free and he was probably on commission. Way too persistent. Pillows in the room smelt strongly of wood fire smoke and rugs next to the bed were very slippy. No instructions for the fir in the room, or any way if turning it on. No room service menu in the room. However, the dinner buffet was enjoyable, and the views were wonderful. Drive up to the property was nothing to write home about, very dirty and unkempt. Music for the evening bonfire wasn't really appropriate.

Aesthetically, this hotel is new and the rooms and grounds are beautiful.
I did however feel as though the hotel did not have a personality.
This hotel has two restaurants : one is a sizzler style which should be revamped entirely. Garçons restaurant serves both Indian and random continental dishes. Between the 2 restaurants it appears as though they were not specializing in any one thing. Everything was average and nothing was great.
Great location for treks through the plantations.

Very good hotel with amazing views. Food was excellent in main restaurant, not so good in speciality restaurant. Atmosphere in the main restaurant was very poor, too bright. Staff were awesome. Rooms were clean and really nice. The only down side was the hotel treats you a little like a cash cow. The hotel charged 2000 IRP for a taxi to the tea museum but the actual cost if we'd just flagged one down was 380IRP. We paid 2000 IRP to the hotel for myself and my partner to do a morning hike, it was a nice hike, not professional but a nice hike around the hotel, maybe worth 300 each. The guy doing the hikes was nice.

Very nice property. A true 5 star hotel in a hill station location where it is difficult to maintain a 5 star hotel. Rooms are very nice and clean and hotel has a colonial English boutique charm. Staff is courteous. Food is very good. Location is great. Only issue is that the local village nearby plays loud music on a speaker that can be heard at times, sometimes early in the morning. I was told it was for a religious ceremony.

Quiet paradise in Munnar

This is my second stay this year at the Fragrant Nature Resort. We were so totally impressed with our stay in May that we had decided to return later in the year to view the kurunji flowers....and we were not disappointed. The rooms are very comfortable, the view is unparalleled and you have total view of the valley, staff are courteous, warm and efficient. Restaurant is top class and very reasonably priced. The bar could be better stocked.... do not hesitate to recommend this gem of a place is Munnar

Hotel is fine, with a great view. However, during the monsoon, no view during the day (clouds) and dark at night. Others in the area at half the price probably good enough. Great restaurant with great service and stunning view, but only open at dinner when too dark to see.

No facilities like A/C despite the huge price

There was no A/C despite the hot whether and the exorbitant price.
The food served for lunch looked cold and stale and had to be changed on request.
The room service like keeping the water bottles etc. were to be reminded every time.

Beautiful Hotel in the Mountains

This hotel is stunning! My boyfriend and I are calling this the best hotel of our India trip. Every room has an incredible view of both the valley and mountains. The hotel has events everyday to help guests hike in the tea fields. There are two restaurants and a coffee shop available until late night, and the food was delicious. Everything we needed was right in our room. We definitely recommend this hotel!

I rarely leave hotel reviews, but I had to praise this hotel. Upon arrival (after a 4hour drive to get here) I was met with a hot face towel and a sweet cup of welcome tea. When shown my room, I walked in and it felt like paradise - the rooms are an excellent standard and the view is amazing. I went on 2 trekking trips with Palani - he was really friendly, and tailored the treks to my requests (going via the tea plantations and a tougher trek the following day). Palani was kind enough to take lots of photos for me and was extremely helpful for planning the remainder of my trip. The food in the restaurant was also amazing. Highly recommend a visit to the nearby Tea museum to understand the history of Munnar.
