Breakfast wasn’t bad except coffee from machine was always cold and machine needs to be upgraded to a better one.
The suite we stayed in was very spacious and clean, but towels are very worn out.
Location was perfect, only a few minutes walk Huaie Khwang station.
Staff were all nice and friendly. Overall, we had a lovely stay at Amaranta and the rates are very reasonable.

All staff very respectful and helpful . Treated very well and atmosphere was very peaceful. Breakfasts were excellent and staff went out of their way to make sure you had an enjoyable experience. One server even brought me coffee outside after breakfast so I could smoke and enjoy the weather with my morning coffee. She was outstanding. All staff made sure my every waking moments were perfect. I cannot say enough good things about the staff and the way I was treated . I even stating for two more days here at the hotel because of the royal treatment i experienced. Definitely the number one hotel in Bangkok and would recommend anyone expecting proper and professional treatment to stay here. My room was always cleaned and made up with care and expertise. Even with the language barrier, I was always helped and steered in the right direction. The Sunday night seafood buffet was out of this world and should not be missed. To add my final comment, I felt like I was home in Canada and wished I could stay here for ever. Glen Brown

The bell boys were very polite and friendly, and the room was clean and generally comfortable. The location is convenient with many food options nearby and close to an MRT station.

However, the reception staff could benefit from more training as the service felt a bit unwelcoming. Housekeeping was average. The shower water temperature was inconsistent and the water pressure was low. No toothbrushes were provided, the Wi-Fi was slow, and the hotel is quite far from major tourist attractions.

Overall, an acceptable stay, but there is room for improvement in service and facilities.

Nice and helpful staff, we visiting this hotel every year. Nearby a lot cheap massage, cheap and tasty street food stores as well as Chinese restaurants. They even decorated the room and sent a cake for my husband’s birthday, so sweet, thank you. Will visit again next year.

Not the 1st time staying here, always greeted by all the staff with smile. Is good hearing from reception saying 'welcome back', make 1 feel back home. Room was always clean and this hotel is not far from the night market. Can easily get food or drink within walking distant. The only down side will be the bed, perhaps is time to make replacement. Definitely will be back again.

The fall of the Amaranta Hotel

This has been my favorite hotel to stay at when I am in Thailand. It is the perfect location and close to train station, food, transportation. However, in both buildings they have a mold problem. The walls have mold in them as well as the showers. Do not stay in the the older building where the top rooms are suppose to be. The toilets do not flush and the sinks leaks water everywhere. The constant noice from outside gets annoying because you can hear everything in the rooms so there is bad noise cancelation in the walls, you also can hear the weights hit the floor from the gym on the second floor. These rooms are not worth any more than $65 max $70 per night in Thailand. The staff is awesome and was the best part of the trip. However, this is china town and they are rude. If they would invest more money back into their hotel it could be one of the best in Bangkok. It his just disappointing seeing how it is going down because i have been staying here since 2018.

My favorite disappointment.

I am a frequent visitor to Bangkok and have always chosen to stay at this establishment, particularly in the main building. However, my recent experience at the Amaranta Suite, which is marketed as a luxury accommodation, was disappointing. The room felt outdated and lacked modern amenities. The bathrooms had noisy toilets and broken shower holders, resulting in an unsatisfactory shower experience. The shower doors didn't seal properly, causing water to spill onto the bathroom floor. Additionally, there was mold throughout the room, which was concerning.

While some staff members provided commendable customer service, there was inconsistency in their treatment of guests based on their ethnicity. It seemed that white individuals, Koreans, and Chinese guests received preferential treatment, while my experience as a black American was not as favorable.

Another issue was the excessive noise from the second-floor bar. Despite being empty, it played loud music from 9 pm until midnight, which disrupted the tranquility of the hotel. Improved soundproofing measures should be implemented to ensure a more peaceful environment for guests.

It is disheartening to witness the decline of this once esteemed hotel, especially since I have been a loyal patron since 2017.

The rooms are spacious and clean. There are a number of streetfood options if you are adventurous enough to walk around the area. The staff was very helpful and accomodating. The breakfast buffet was adequate but I would highly suggest you walk around and use your Google Translate to buy from food places in the streets. It was awesome.

The only thing I didn't like about our stay was the sound proofing of the rooms. I had trouble sleeping and staying asleep some nights cuz of the normal street noise. Wasn't too loud or anything but loud enough to affect sleep.

I would urge anyone who thinks of booking this hotel to definitely look else where. This is not a 4 star hotel, we travel a lot and I have stayed in better 2 star hotels.

1. We booked as a discounted rate, due to have a vitality membership therefore money off. Our first hotel room was on the other side of the road from the main building. The room was dirty and smelt very damp. We also experienced water coming out of the toilet, and the sink, the water was bubbling then shooting out. We were ‘upgraded’ this room was also very dirty and had damage to the furniture. We were told there was no other rooms to be moved to until the next day. We was never moved. We were given an apology, fruit and a bottle of wine, this is kind but does not make up for the stay we experienced.

2. When I went to talk to staff for the second time about the second room, with pictures I was told that the room was cheap at a discounted rate and therefore this was an explanation for the poor conditions. I was also told that they were in the middle of refurbishing the rooms, please look at older reviews for the reply of the management they have said this before and there is no refurbishment happening here.

3. This is a very noisy place, there are motorbikes all through the night and lots of music, this place does not sleep.

4. The roof top pool is old and dated, broken flooring in places. Old nappy on the floor for our entire stay. Breakfast is ok. Gym is ok.

5. So far from everything.

About 7min walk from MRT and walking distant from Huai Khwang night market. Room lighting, aircon and curtains fully panel control. The only thing that upset me was the bed. I believed the Q size bed is joint by 2 single bed and the worst part when lying in the middle, you can feel your whole body sink in. Which make you feel so uncomfortable.

More attention to detail could've made it a 5; two lights in our room didn't work (burnt out bulbs?), I mentioned it to maintenance but it was never fixed. The bathroom door lock was falling off (they did fix this right away after i raised it). Every other day cleaning service would remove hand towels and not replace them, we only seemed to have hand towels every second day! The pool bar is supposed to be open all day, but we never saw anyone ever working there.

But overall we really did enjoy staying here!!

Very friendly and attentive front deck staff, room are very well clean by room maid throughout my stay. Other than the sliding door that separates the room and bath tub having some problem closing (need to apply some oil or grease), as it get jam and I'm worried by force the whole glass will topling on me. And the bed, instead of double bed. It was joint by 2 single, one side of the bed is definitely worn out. You can feel your body sink in when lying down. As for location, is not far from the huai khwang mrt and the main attraction area. About 10min walk away, you can have some entertainment and lots of food choices. If you are too lazy, hotel do have some nice food to offer and a chill roof top bar for a drink.

What you want to know. Great bed! Air conditioning great! Water pressure good. A little mildew in the shower, but in Bangkok most hotels do. Staff fantastic! Breakfast good. North away from the hive, about 30 minutes by metro to get to downtown, 40 for Grand Palace. So, I am giving this place a 10 overall due to the staff! They are so sweet, and it feels home like. Back here again as I love this hotel. Got a junior lux room this time but found it smaller than a deluxe room. The lights and aircon went off several times during my stay and it was irritating as it took awhile for the aircon to cool the room. Gave my feedback to the reception. This property is centrally located. It is in a very busy area. The road travelling by the hotel is impossible to cross if you are using the MRT. It is dangerous. The hotel itself was pretty good. The rooms facing the main road are noisy. We had to move after the first night, but then it was much better. Breakfast was decent, not 5 stars but good. The rooms were clean and the air in the hotel was surprisingly fresh. Sadly, the hotel staff was not that friendly, but adequate. It is located near the Train and Chatuchuk markets which is convenient. The pool on the roof is worth checking out, and the roof bar is pretty refreshing at night. They have a cool little bakery attached to the property and I would suggest trying the coconut cake ,,, very good.

4 star payment with 2 star experience.

Amaranta doesn't meet as 4 star hotel. Location, clealiness, room condition and service made me disappointed, especially the furniture of condition did not meet the average, bed is suck.
Double room should be better than the suite, don't waste money, it will ruined your holiday mood.
