Porto Naxos Hotel was a pleasure

Really nice hotel on the edge of Naxos Town. Clean and comfortable room with garden view. Air conditioning was good. Pool was very nice. Staff were excellent and helpful. Breakfast was ok. It is a fairly flat 0.7 mile walk into the centre of town and about 0.5 mile to the decent town beach. The supermarket and a bus stop are across the road. There is also an open air cinema next door.

We stayed 5 nights at this hotel, even though it wasn’t right in the city center it was very conveniently located within walking distance to restaurants and shops and a 15min walk to the center of town. There’s a grocery store right in front of it which was great for a longer stay and the pool at the hotel was excellent.

I absolutely loved my stay at Porto Naxos Hotel on Naxos Island, but like any place, there are a couple of areas that could use a little improvement. Located a bit further from the main town, this hotel offers a peaceful retreat away from the tourist hustle and bustle, which I found to be a great thing. If you want to explore the old town, it's just a 20-minute walk away. We did this on one day, but spent most of our time exploring the island's stunning beaches.

The location of the hotel has some added perks too. There's a high-end supermarket directly across the street, making it super convenient to stock up on supplies for day trips. Plus, there are a few restaurants, scooter rental spots, and even an open-air cinema nearby. The cinema was a cool experience, even if the movie was a bit lackluster.

As for the hotel itself, the rooms are spacious and there aren’t too many of them, which gives the place a nice, intimate feel. However, the one major drawback was the outdated shower situation. Clearly, this is an older hotel that’s had a facelift, but they should have ditched the old bathtubs in favor of modern showers. The current setup leads to water pooling all over the bathroom floor, which isn’t exactly ideal.

The breakfast spread was pretty good, though a bit heavy on the Greek pies. Don’t get me wrong, they were tasty, but it would’ve been nice to have a few more savory options to mix things up.

We had the most amazing stay at Porto Naxos Hotel. It was beautiful hotel. Breakfast was fantastic the room was great. Having a pool was absolutely fantastic. It was very easily located to the main town and beach. Was only 10 Min walk in. But far enough away to be quiet at night. Would definitely come and stay there again on our next trip to Naxos.

This is wothout doubt one of the best hotels we ever stayed in. We moved to another island after a week here and all we could talk about was this hotel! We pined for it... It was like home! The breakfast is super, the room was fabulous, so comfortable, so clean, so spacious and the staff were very attentive, friendly and informative. I could not recommemd this hotel highly enough. I am sure nobody could be disappointed with their stay here.

Better options closer to the beach - too near road

It's a nice building but right next to a VERY busy road, so you can hear traffic right through-out the hotel and down by pool side, so music playing all the time to cover it. Not relaxing. Room looked nice enough and very nice bathroom, but mattress was hard and room noisy from traffic even though I had a 'garden view' and not a road side room. I felt it was a bit soulless and I found a much nicer four star, closer to the beach, which was quieter, friendlier and more comfortable bed the following night. It was also about 30% cheaper!

The Porto Naxos hotel is a beautiful hotel on the edge of Naxos Town. It's an easy 10 minute walk into town, and there is a bus stop only a block away to get to other beaches etc. We borrowed the hotel's bikes for a trip to a beach, and loved the daily breakfasts where there was a huge variety of foods. The pool was beautiful and it was fun to get drinks at the pool bar. There is a little, cheap restaurant next door and a supermarket across the street. Super great location, and very friendly and helpful staff.

Very modern and clean hotel with an amazing breakfast and gorgeous pool area with a bar. It’s just outside the tourist area, so about a 7 minute walk to the local beach (which is very nice) and about 10-15 to the town/old town/harbor area. I walked everywhere locally but easy to rent a car for a day if you want to get out to the farther beaches. My room was very spacious and my terrace was even more so! Nice views of the island and the sea in the distance.

Porto Naxos is a beautiful hotel within walking distance to town and to the beach. The accommodations were very comfortable, a very large room with a big terrace to sit and enjoy the beautiful views. The breakfast was amazing! There was a big variety of pastries, eggs, fruit, cereal, something for everyone.

Excellent hotel very close to the beaches and town

We used Expedia reviews to choose a hotel in Naxos and we hit a gem. Two storey hotel hidden in lush garden, palm trees and farmers fields on the edge of Chora. Spacious room, big bathroom, little private patio, hidden in palms and blossoming bushes. The hotel has a beautiful lobby, and is designed as a ancient Greek house with many open air passages and sitting area. Big garden surrounding the pool. The hotel has an exercise room, offers bicycle rental at no charge. Excellent breakfast in a beautiful settings. Staff was very helpful.
It’s a 5 min. walk to the centre of the town with all restaurants and evening life, about 25 min. walk to the port along the boulevards.
A nearby restaurant Naxos Grill offers delicious and inexpensive meals if you need something quick.
We rode the bicycles from the hotel to Plaka Beach, about 8km, going through Ag. Prokopios and Ag Anna. Good restaurants along the road.
Plaka Beach is sandy, with dunes, crystal clear water and stretches for kilometers. The umbrella and two chairs rental is 7-10€.

Luxurious rooms and a beautiful pool.

A very attractive hotel with lovely rooms, great comfy beds and a superb pool area. It is a little bit out of town but it’s a flat 20 ish mins walk to the centre with all the restaurants bars and bustle. Sadly there is not a restaurant available as advertised although the hotel staff told us the restaurant is where breakfast is served so IS a restaurant. The restaurant is there but is closed up. A pool bar menu is available part of the day, crepes, club sandwiches and salads. Breakfast is fine but not 4*.
Previous visitors have mentioned the road noise but we didn’t find that an issue.
When we arrived we were not given a twin room for our young adult kids as we had requested and were told with a shrug that requests can’t be honoured as the hotel was busy although we had booked months in advance. No way our 22 year old son was gong to sleep with his 19 year old sister, originally we were told that was just it but after a call to the hotel manager we were given an extra bed for the first night and a change of room for the rest of the stay.

Athena and her team were great. They arranged a pickup from the airport although we just advised them that morning. We had a room with a view of the island. The hotel is 200m from the beach - initially disappointed we were glad later because it is also out of the wind !!! Room was spacious - small balcony (Many rooms had large balconies great for summer) Good pool. It is early in the season and so breakfast staff were not yet into the swing of things but they were eager to please. Each breakfast included different homemade Greek pastries and cakes, but don't ask them for poached eggs. I was recovering from bad food in Athens and the 24 hr reception/room service was excellent. Professional and accommodating service, local knowledge, friendly - thoroughly happy to recommend.

Porto Naxos is a wonderful choice. It's on the edge of town, but less than a 10 minute walk to both the beach and the shops/restaurants, which means it's quiet and peaceful yet accessable. The pool area is perfect for complete relaxation and cooling off on a hot afternoon. Breakfast is full of options and the food is excellent. The staff couldn't be nicer and will help in any way possible. Rooms are nice with balconies and patios so that you can sit outside and watch Naxos life around you. Highly recommend.

Loved It!

Porto Naxos was a great hotel experience. Centrally located, within walking distance to shops and restaurants but far enough way to provide a peaceful relaxing resort like setting. The pool, cabanas, and pool bar provided opportunity for down time. Room was spacious and clean and the bed was very comfortable. Staff was outstanding, I suffered heat dehydration while in Naxos and the hotel staff helped my husband with a pharmacy and medical recommendations as well as helping him with local eateries so he could take in the local culture while I was recuperating. Can't wait to return to Porto Naxos agin!

Nice clean hotel, good location, great staff.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Porto Naxos Hotel. The rooms all have a separate entrance which feels almost like an apartment within a hotel. Service from reception and the waiting staff in particular was very efficient and friendly, especially Alex and Mariana who gave us lots of helpful local information. We liked the location of this Hotel as it was only 5 minutes walk to the nicest end of St Georges beach, we also liked the short walk into town where we came across some great restaurants which we might have missed had we stayed elsewhere. We ate only one night in the Hotel and found the food delicious, excellent Souvlaki! Breakfast was lovely, we enjoyed the fresh fruit and yoghurt and the bread was particularly good. We felt the pool bar was a little expensive, probably would have tried the cocktails if they were a bit cheaper. Overall a great experience at this hotel and would highly recommend it.

Well located hotel with free bicycles

Porto Naxos hotel is located right outside of the congested square. There is a Cash and Carry (supermarket) directly across the street which is very convenient. Public bus stop and Tour pick ups are in front of hotel. One of the best beach (Agios Prokopios) is a 15 mintues bicycle ride away; great combo of leisure and exercise.

Hotel had pleasant staff, tasty breakfast and clean rooms. Wifi by the pool bar is great. In rooms can be a bit inconsistent. Pleasantly surprised by the outdoor movie theater next door.

We had a wonderful stay at Porto Naxos and all the staff was amazing especially Thomas at the front desk and Marianne serving breakfast. The hotel is extremely clean and is well located. It's 10 minutes walking from the town and close to the port (8 euro taxi ride)I am looking forward to returning to Naxos and staying at Porto Naxos!

The Porto Naxos Hotel would have to be the best hotel I have ever stayed at. The hotel is very nicely presented and this follows suit with the staff who are well dressed as well as the top quality services provided. Our room was top notch on the second floor with a great view of the pool and view towards Naxos. Beautiful amenities were supplied in the room, a real treat of comfort. Beautiful pool, bar waiters are a nice extra, comfortable reclineable chairs. Included a nice table tennis and tennis option with a decent gym. The breakfast each morning was areal treat to start the day over looking the pool and outdoor area. The staff were very helpful, spoke good English and dressed very nicely. Would recommend this place 100%, can't wait to return. Thank you so much for the stay.

This is the second hotel that I stayed at in Naxos. Both hotels are labelled '4 stars', but this hotel actually is 4 star in terms of quality and comfort. The hotel is beautiful. Both the public areas and the rooms are modern, stylish and comfortable. The tv has English stations including BBC (which is rare in Greece) The breakfast was awesome, definitely the best breakfast I've had in Greece (the home made Greek yoghurt was amazing). The pool area is beautiful. The staff are sweet and actually helped me plan my stay in Athens! Only draw back is the location is a bit far from the beach and town, but the bus stops right in front of the hotel and the buses operats efficiently until 2 am each day. I definitely recommend his hotel.

Beautiful hotel in good location in Naxos

This is a beautiful hotel and property - lovely rooms each with a balcony, very nice pool with pool bar, outdoor restaurant, tennis court, etc. etc. The breakfast is plentiful in choice and high in quality, which you can enjoy on the lovely terrace overlooking the pool. The hotel is conveniently located just about 1km from the port and a short 10-minute walk from the historic part of Naxos. Highly recommend and wish we would have stayed longer! (Also recommend renting a car and driving around the island!)

Nice hotel but need refurbishement

The good points:
- the pool is nice, quite deep to enable diving.
- the breakfast buffet has a lot of choices and the outside terrace is lovely to start your day.
- the hotel location is good, close from the main town. Although the beach agio georgios which is about 4min walk from the hotel is the worth beach of the island (too crowded, not in a good condition and very windy at time).
- the staff is very welcoming and helpful

The bad points:
- our room had a bathroom in bad condition as the sink didn't work properly and the shower made the bathroom flood... The staff came to check after we raised the problem.but nothing was done or suggested to us apart from \"deal with it\".
- the road facing room can be noisy

One of the better stays in Naxos

I must say, after looking at many hotels in Naxos, the Porto Naxos hotel lives up to its 4 Star rating. The staff is extremely helpful and caring, definitely showing that family care and hospitality Greece is known for, as well as bringing you a great facility and area to enjoy. Great food, pool facilities & anything you require is just a request away. Additionally, this hotel is just a 5 minute walk from two great beaches as well as the main city.... Definitely one of only a few quality hotels in Naxos.

A good quality hotel with sheets and towels changed daily. Located slightly out of town but 10 minutes walk to beach and 20 minutes to town centre. Whilst buffet breakfast was always the same items it included a reasonable variety and was of a good quality although cooked eggs tended to dry out unless you were there when delivered.Room was clean of a good size and was comfortable with good bathroom and outdoor seating area. Air conditioning was included in the price. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Review of Porto Naxos Hotel

The welcome from reception was really warm, helpful and lovely (the receptionist helped us out with loads of information about the island and the buses), room was clean although very basic, furniture was a bit dated and I would say that the 4 stars rating is an exaggeration (for example the towels at the pool were all washed out and unmatched). The situation of the hotel was not the best either, the hotel is stuck near a busy road and a supermarket, about 10mn walk from the beach and 20mn from the arrival of the ferry. Breakfast was good and had a lot of choice.

Good hotel - could be better.

The staff were as helpful and accommodating as it was possible to be. The facilities were generally good, although the room was slightly shabby in places (paint/plaster peeling off in a couple of minor places). The main shortcoming in an otherwise entirely acceptable experience was the bathroom design. The shower head was located in the middle of the bath rather than one end, pointing out into the main room so it wasn't easy to adjust the angle without the water being directed beyond the bath and onto the floor of the room. This issue was compounded by a shower curtain that was impossible to hang inside the bath so the floor always got wet when taking a shower.

A nice (if pricy) hotel to enjoy Naxos

The hotel was very nice and with a big swimming pool and comfortable rooms. The staff was friendly and helpful, the breakfast was very nice and the experience was quite satisfactory. The location of the hotel is also nice, it is just outside from the Naxos town (10-15 minutes from the port) so it is easy to start your day trips with a car. A minus point goes to the price as it is high enough to wonder if maybe you could spend your money elsewhere (cold beers, delicious food-the sun and the great beaches of Naxos come for free).
