Room was average, could be cleaner, stained curtains, very average bed linens quality. AC unit would not switch to heating mode and we had some cold nights and had to ask for extra blankets.
Beach view from the room is nice. St George Beach - you can walk a long way in crystal clear water, but I would not call it a fantastic beach.
Staff was courteous and helpful. Service staff all very business like, and worked hard, but all looked tired and touristed-out.

Had a wonderful 4 night visit, could easily have stayed a week, Naxos has lots to do and see. We had a nice clean room, great view, comfortable bed and a delicious breakfast included. Hotel Ippokampos is across from the beach, a short walk to the ferry port where there are lots of restaurants and gift shops. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Great casual atmosphere, older well kept property with a nice outdoor bar and comfy seating areas.

The room was covered in mold. I felt unsafe staying in the room with the doors closed and no airflow, as the smell was overpowering and gave me a headache. The towels and bedding had stains. The property was not as advertised.

We got an ocean front room, so we saw the sunset every night. We did have to pay $20 to have two comfy beach chairs with an umbrella. The breakfast was included, and it was amazing. The staff was very nice.

We booked this location for our 25th wedding anniversary. However when we got there they said they tried reaching us The room was booked at the same time as someone else and so they put us the on a sister property \"apartments\" five blocks away from the beach. It was not what we booked. We booked an on beach property And got an apartment overlooking a parking lot. They said they tried to contact us but I never received the messages via Expedia. To accommodate the inconvenience, they gave us two sunbeds for the two days that we were staying. I mentioned that we came late in the afternoon and we're not going to use it the first day and the second day we will be traveling the island so we will not have use for them. I said please credit the amount of the sun beds which were €40 each day, 80 total , to my account since I did not get what I booked. They said \"whether you use it or not, this is what we're offering.\" Then when we asked to use the beach towels she said the beach towels are only for our beach. You can't take them anywhere else. So--- they offered us an apartment five blocks away from the beach, sunbeds that we did not use, (or any type of credit) and when we asked for beach towels they said we can't use them anywhere else except for their Beach. Not the best way to do business.

On arrival of our stay at Ippokampos Beachfront hotel, we were told that they no longer had a room for us as they had overbooked and that we had to stay in a different hotel, which was located behind the property. This was incredibly frustrating as this was a special trip for us and we had splashed on having a larger room with a beach/sea view, and were given a small room with no sea view. The hotel claimed they had tried to contact us to let us know, but hotels.com also had no evidence of this. It then took over three hours to resolve this issue, taking up one of our days on the island. It was incredibly disappointing and I feel it is important to leave a review so that this does not happen to anyone else!

We had a great 2 nights at Ippokampos Beachfront. The welcoming staff were amazing. Friendly and very accommodating. We arrived at around noon and they had our room ready to check in.

The room itself was nice and clean with all the needed amenities available. The only uncomfortable thing in the room was the position of the air conditioner; it was right in front of the bed and, no matter how much we tried, we couldn't deflect the air flow from the bed. We had to do without it during our stay.

The other thing that led to scoring the service as GOOD rather than EXCELLENT was the service of the breakfast staff. The lady in charge was not very friendly verging on rude.

As an overall evaluation, Ippokampos Beachfront is a lovely place that you should stay in despite the minor comments in my review.

The property is beachfront. The downside to it is if you want to use beach chairs you must pay to use. The description was a bit misleading. I did get a partial sea view on top floor. Some of the beds were not done. We had sheets left (I guess for us to make beds). It was clean and pretty close to center. Staff was very nice.

The property is right across the street from the beach, and has three restaurants within 100ft which made it very easy to walk everywhere. Also, it was such a short taxi from port and to the airport. Staff were very polite and helpful. When first arriving finding the reception desk was a little tricky but otherwise a fantastic experience.

A True Gem!

Absolutely amazing gem of a hotel in the most amazing island in the cyclades. When we arrived we were greeting and taken right to our room with no delay. The manager was very welcoming and accommodating to everything that we asked for even with having changed plans twice. Breakfast included was fresh and healthy options daily. We had dinner here one night and the food was great. The housekeeper is amazing, on top of everything you need and the rooms are kept clean and well appointed every day. We never had to worry about towels for the room, for the beach or even supplies missing. Floors were mopped daily and the room was kept impeccable! I cant say enough good things about this place, the team and the location. It's a shame that the secret of this island and hotel will get out eventually and be exploited like some of the other islands in the cyclades.

Our family came for one week, 6 adults and 5 kids under the age of 10. When we first arrived there was a mix up with one of our rooms, due to Expedia, but the manager went above and beyond to make amends and gifted us free beach chairs, free taxis, and some other perks for our inconvenience.The staff from the very sweet cleaning ladies (who came everyday and gave us fresh towels and swept all the sand the children brought in) to Andres on the beach, to the incredibly kind breakfast staff Demetria and staff provided such good service. The breakfasts were abundant with many choices, we loved having breakfast together with the incredible beach view. The beach was clean and water was so shallow that we felt very save with our kids in the water. We are all planning our return to this wonderful location!

Wonderful Naxos beachfront location. Just close enough to town to walk easily but with quiet beachfront location. Breakfast was limited to a few choices, but the portions were ample and interesting. Off season in October, our stay was very quiet. The 3 main staff members worked non-stop all day. The restaurant and bar are beautiful and classy. We had a basement room, but it was comfortable, not fancy. Friendly kitty came to visit each day outside our door. Transportation option offered to and from airport or ferry would be my only suggestion. Airport isn't walkable and the small island doesn't have obvious taxi options.

This is such a lovely property, and literally right across the street from the beach. The views are so pretty, especially nice if you get a balcony with sea view. The restaurant is outdoors but covered, and you can choose to eat in the more sheltered structure or right on the beach. Food is excellent, staff is warm and friendly. Easy and beautiful 10-minute walk into town, with lots to see/do along the way. Wonderful!

I recently stayed at this hotel, and I must say, it was a disappointing experience from start to finish. From the moment we arrived, the manager’s rude and unprofessional demeanor set the tone for our stay. He was not accommodating and seemed more interested in cutting costs than ensuring a pleasant guest experience.

The hotel itself fell far short of its supposed 3.5-star status. The rooms were dated, the amenities were lacking, and the overall cleanliness left much to be desired. It felt more like a 2-star property with an inflated rating.

To make matters worse, the restaurant staff displayed the same level of rudeness and inattentiveness as the manager. It was as if courtesy and hospitality were foreign concepts to them. Dining there was an unpleasant experience, to say the least.

Perhaps the low point of our stay was when we encountered a foul stench in our room one night due to a sewer leak. The hotel’s handling of the situation was lackluster, to say the least. It took far too long for them to address the issue, and it left an unforgettable mark on our stay.

In summary, this hotel was a major letdown, and I would strongly advise against staying here. The combination of rude and stingy management, lackluster service, and the sewer issue made for a truly disappointing experience that does not align with the expectations of a decent property.

Hotel is about > 1.5 kms from the port, we stayed for 3 nights - it’s walkable. Check in is swift, Receptionist Was friendly and helped with luggage. There’s no lift, so some stairs to climb. The unit has basics for cooking, electric stove, no microwave. We didn’t cook. Free bottled water on arrival only. No teas/coffee in room which is odd for a hotel. Furniture & decor were very budget. The safe was tiny n old. Towels n bed linen were a little worn. Unit had dangerous pipes sticking up n out from the floor. Shower stall has no door or screen, hence the outside - whole flour gets flooded, be careful of slip hazard. Water pressure was good. Wifi was good, watched Netflix on own devices, not on the TV. Breakfast was decent, in the restaurant that’s had been modernised, kept well & modernised on beachfront. We went in the shoulder months and it was pricey for a unit with partial views to sea but mostly looking out to car park.

The pros:
Room-the room we had was a one bedroom unit with a 2nd room being a kitchenette with a table and chairs and bedroom (2 twin beds and a trundle ) in one. It was clean, and swept daily and towels changed daily if needed. Beach towels were at reception on day one and changed in room after that. There we're disposable slippers available to wear in the room which I loved as the kids would track in beach sand.
Wi-Fi-super strong everywhere, including the beach!
Breakfast- was a la carte and available at their restaurant which overlooked the beach. I personally recommend the elliniko breakfast. It was a full breakfast which also included dessert, a beverage and a piece of fruit. Very attentive staff.

Twin beds-They most definitely could have used a mattress pad as you could literally feel and see the mattress coils beneath the thin sheet.
Bathroom- although lovely in pictures, it's small shower stall with no curtain would leave the floor soaked.

The sunbeads on the beach were 6 euro for hotel guests with 2 beds an umbrella, a chair and table.

Amazing location-this hotel was easy to walk to from the port, and throughout old Naxos. It had 2 supermarkets, a laundromat, restaurants, cafes and clothing stores nearby. This location can not be beat!

My daughter and I stayed on the top floor with the balcony. We had a clear view of the sunset every night. The staff was amazing. Many safety precautions. The very helpful young made that checked us in and carried our bags up, sterilized the key before handing it to us. The food was great. Wonderful experience. Loved Naxos. Property is located at the front of a very calm, clean, safe, fine sand beach with turquoise waters, also they offer umbrellas and food/ drink service, this is absolutely a plus. Breakfast was superb, our room was neat, well decorated with all that we need. This hotel has everything that you need to relax and just enjoy your time without worries. Great beach location

Great location and an easy walk to downtown. Right across the street from one of the best beaches in the area. Breakfast, included, was amazing. Staff was warm and helpful. Definitely a gem. Stayed on the top floor with a balcony overlooking the sea--amazing.

The hotel was nice, across the road from the beach. Breakfast was tasty. The room was nice, very clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel is only a short walk from the port, around 10-15 minutes, and only a 5 minute walk to many stores and restaurants.

This was a great place to stay. Lovely being so close to beach. You can have a nice breakfast right on the beach, relaxing and food was good. Also only a very short walk to town. All Staff lovely.
Rooms were impeccably clean, we were really impressed with the daily cleaning.
Stayed with two young kids who loved the beach and the two rooms worked great for us, simple, nothing fancy but clean.
We stayed on the top floor with bay views but the view was partially blocked by power lines which do not appear in the pictures online. But this really made minimal difference for our stay, just a note for those paying extra for this room. Would recommend a stay at this hotel for sure. Great value hotel.

Great Value, Service and Location

This hotel is conveniently located 10 min from the port and in one of the best beaches in the island. It is also by many restaurants on the beach in addition to the hotel's own restaurant. The breakfast buffet has great options including some tasty healthy options. It is a very robust offering that can be enjoyed beachside! That was a plus. The service by hotel staff was also a staff from the reception manager Giannis who was so kind and hospitable to the servers from the breakfast. Giannis went out of his way to make sure we had an enjoyable stay. He did it all from checking you in, making reservations, calling a cab, to delivering your luggage (mine was quite heavy).
