Ideal hotel, generous room sizes, considerate design and attention to detail, non-corporate, kind staff and in perfect location for a holiday in Naxos. Easy to walk into town by beach or through the streets, the beach is on your doorstep if you want to swim in the sea and there is also a lovely pool at the hotel. Close to a bus stop if you want to venture over to the bigger beaches south of Naxos Town. We came for three nights and then changed our holiday plans so we could return for a further three nights. Naxos is the best island and we say Alkyoni is the best hotel.

Nice family owned hotel with a good restaurant, excellent bartender, and pool. Our friends had a hot tub patio, and that was great for a rainy chilly day we had. One drawback that all 3 different rooms our group had was that there was no shower curtain or anything to block the water from getting everywhere. It was cumbersome to shower. Hanging ceiling shower curtain rods would help so much.

We had the triple room sea view and the view of the pool and sea from our room was lovely. There’s a very convenient grocery store a quick walk away that is amazing more like a department store! The beach is a stone’s throw away with a boardwalk you can walk to Naxos town in about 15-20 minutes lots of shops and restaurants. The restaurant at the hotel had a first class buffet breakfast and the restaurant had good food for dinner too. Katerina at the front desk was excellent and helpful with any request, all the staff was excellent and friendly. I highly recommend!

Enjoyable second stay.

Great hotel and my second stay in three years. Staff are nice, the resort quiet and the location is phenomenal, being set off the beach (protected from the wind), and just a 20 minute stroll or so to Naxos old town. Best of both worlds. I was in a Natura Jr. Suite as with my last stay, a bit pricey but I think worth the difference.

Pictures do not reflect the reality

Overall experience was ok, but we were expecting way more after seeing the pictures they post online, they are outdated as the hotel needs a lot of maintenance, sunbeds and most of the furniture are old. The pool area needs to be cleaned and the breakfast was very poor, always the same food and very limited options.
The good thing is that stuff was very helpful and friendly but won’t recommend this hotel unless you find a very good deal, not our case

We loved this hotel was super quiet and quaint the staff is super nice and helped us arrange taxis! The only things didn’t love was I felt there was so many bees around the pool area and even the beach but I am allergic and this definitely made me feel very uncomfortable they definitely don’t spray anything to keep them away. As well as the dinner/ lunch options were okay I recommend walking up the board walk 5 mins into town and getting food there instead. The breakfast was good in the morning they only have bacon every other day and make these hot dog looking things that I was disappointed they didn’t offer a different breakfast meat. Besides that we loved our room the only bad thing is when you leave the room and take the key with you the AC shuts off so it does get warm up there during the day. As well as the shower being super messy the water goes literally everywhere if they got new shower heads I think it could solve this problem. We definitely would love to come back here and love Naxos there is so much to do and shopping. We also did horseback riding through the Naxos horseback riding club that come right through on St. George’s beach you will see was an amazing ride! Eat at little small restaurants in town have the best food!

Lovely property, rooms lovely and spacious, the bathroom was great, small criticism the shower was placed weirdly over a corner bath so the floor used to get very wet. Kept spotlessly clean. It was a 30 second walk to a gorgeous beach and lovely bars/restaurants. Highly recommend

We loved our stay at charming Alkyoni! Naxos was our favorite part of our trip to Greece. The hotel is in a great location steps to the beach and walkable to town, but still quiet and private. The pool area is fantastic and the staff was wonderful. The breakfast was very similar each day, but it was yummy and refreshed regularly so it met our needs just fine. Shower took some getting used to (sprayed all over the bathroom the first day) but once we got the hang of how to avoid that, it was fine. Rooms were cute and had everything we needed.

Breakfast on offer very poor
Not sure what photos they are using but definitely not a true reflection of what hotel is like
Grounds are ok but again need an upgrade
Main man very obliging
Situation and pool size are great and room clean but old pebble flooring in shower had areas of mould
We had hot tub but it looked worn and we were supposed to be in a junior suite ???
Feel like we have been misled with hotel ratings and photos which in reality were not worthy of the price we paid

The rooms were unique and clean. Staff was excellent. Breakfast was disappointing. but sufficient. Beach was right outside the door with access to the boardwalk which went directly in to town. Parking the rent a car was difficult and not recommended to drive in to town. However, the town is very walkable.

Very cute and quaint. Excellent pool. Friendly staff. I only gave 3 stars because there are lots of mosquitoes & gnats here & the housekeepers would leave the door open while cleaning thus letting in mosquitoes. Everytime we would enter our room afterwards, we'd be on a mission to kill them all but didn't get all of them. I got bit twice on my face & 3 times on my hands. My husband got bit all over his body Many times. We eventually told the front desk that we didn't need housekeeping services anymore to avoid this.

It was a nice room, with good outdoor space and a lovely pool. However, I thought it was very overpriced for a pretty dated property. It was billed as a beach hotel but it wasn’t actually on the beach, and it had no beach amenities, such as beach chairs, or a bar or a restaurant by the beach.

Wonderful stay in Naxos

Wonderful stay at the Alkyoni beach hotel. Very comfortable room with everything we needed. Pool was great, never too busy (late May/early June). Good selection for breakfast. Quiet area of Naxos with a lovely walk into town along the boardwalk and beach - just perfect. Friendly staff, especially Zoe who was very helpful booking a hire car for us and recommending a route of places to visit round the island.

The property sits right on the beach and is a walkable distance to the boardwalk with shops/restaurants. The standard rooms are dated and not modern at all. I was unhappy with the bed arrangement. My husband and I had to sleep on two twin beds pushed together; with separate bedding that kept moving apart. Not “romantic at all”. The convenience and friendly staff made up for the subpar rooms.

Property is in a fabulous location with a fabulous pool. Easy walk to both beach and restaurants and cafes.
Property itself has greatly potential however, it’s in need of general maintenance both grounds and buildings, it’s understaffed, food is average at best and buffet breakfast was ordinary with food running out by 9am and not being replenished.
General commodities like coffee and milk in room was absent.
4 stars for this hotel is a stretch.
If you can overlook shortcomings, and just want a greater location with a greatly pool, then this hotel should be considered.

This was a nice little hotel. We stayed for 4 nights and found it a very convenient place to stay as it the beach, restaurants, and Naxos town are easily walkable. The hotel provides a decent breakfast spread and the bartenders are generous with their pours for cocktails. The property itself is in a minor state of disrepair with some fixtures broken or missing, but overall a pleasant and convenient place to stay.

This was the perfect hotel for our stay. The location is great, you can just take a very pleasant 10 minute walk to town on the beach. Sunset views!!
The front desk staff was very nice. Our room was beautiful with a big terrace. Air conditioning worked great! We loved Naxos and we will most likely stay here again when we return.

The hotel is situated in an excellent position within easy access of the beach and town. The bedroom we stayed in had recently been refurbished. There are a few areas for improvements which have greatly increased my score. There were no chiller cabinets in the breakfast room and food left uncovered on the table buffet style. The food option was fine if covered and refrigerated. The outside area would have benefited from better upkeep and maintenance.

The property is beautiful and a good proximity to the beach, restaurants, shopping and the town, while still being quiet and quaint. The only negative is the window in the shower; it is head level and was open when we checked in... Unfortunately my husband ended up with a 2 inch gash on his head from the corner of the open window.

The suites are lovely, fairly spacious, the patio attached to the room is a lovely space to enjoy. The breakfast is very nice, the staff very helpful, assisted us in renting a car and helped to provide us where to drive to get a good tour of the island. Very clean, would definitely recommend and stay again.

I can’t say enough about how friendly the staff was during our stay, from the front desk to the bar and restaurant. Everyone made us feel right at home during our three night stay. The location cannot be best. One day we went to Plaka beach, and since we did not rent a car, the front desk arranged our taxi to take us there and back. LOVED this place. The breakfast spread was astonishing, and the dinner fare delightful.

The Honeymoom Suite was not the best

First time in Naxos and I didn’t know which hotel or area to book so I booked 2 nights at what was at the time a pricey hotel for off season. I booked the Honeymoon Suite because generally those are the best if not one of the best rooms in the hotel. All this room had was a round bed. Other rooms we noticed had nicer balconies, nicer patio furniture and I have to say our sheets felt like the plastic sheets you put on a toddler bed when night training. I booked this room because of the huge tub in the pictures and brought lots of bath salts for romantic evenings and they didn’t supply a stopper for the tub saying Naxos doesn’t have water. The young kid at the front desk was no help at all either. I understand it’s at the end of the season but customer service is still important and mowing the lawn is still needed. This hotel needs some major upkeep. We ended up leaving after our two days at $200CAD/night and booking at an amazing hotel down the road for $54CAD/night that was far superior, better breakfast, nicer room and balcony and full use of the fitness room and spa room with steam room, hot tub, sauna and 24hr reception and amazing staff.

Lesson learned that honeymoon suite doesn’t always mean the best in certain places!

I’d love to share my experience in this amazing place that I started to call a little piece of heaven since the arrival.
The staff, every single one of them makes sure you are comfortable, happy, satisfied with each request, they Went above and beyond to provide us the best during our staying.
The chef Giorgios is amazing, he makes sure you fill out a paper with your request for breakfast and it’s served beautifully.
Dimitra in reception, Stella everywhere, Nikolas… all of them are the best!

Our holiday at Alkyoni was absolutely perfect. Our room was spacious for this family of three people. The entire staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious and with a nice variety. I'm still dreaming of that sweet watermelon. The location of the hotel was ideal as well. Just a few steps away from the beach and an easy 15 minute walk to town. Everything about the hotel was excellent. Check-in was extremely easy and fast. We were walked to our room and given an introduction. Our room was small but adequate for a couple. The pool was refreshing and the pool bar was a great touch and very convenient for relaxing. The hotel is only several feet from the beach which is amazing and their are several restaurants if you don’t want to travel far. The town can be accessed with a short 5 min walk.

We had a very nice time at this hotel. It was very close to the beach, could easily walk to town or the bus stop, the staff was very nice and helpful. Our favorite thing was the Greek dinner and live music on Saturday night. We went to sleep listening to the wonderful Greek music. The hotel needs to finish renovating. Only some rooms have been updated.

The hotel was in a good location 2 minute walk to the beach and to the boardwalk with many cafes. The pool was the best part, very large and beautiful temperature and very clean, plus small section for young children. There were plenty of chairs and lounge chairs however few umbrellas. Other guests often reserved their lounges early in the morning to reserve the entire day, even if they left the pool area for several hours. That was a bit impolite and frustrating. The room was quaint, neat and spacious however the bathroom had a sewage odor they were not able to fix. Breakfast was good and plentiful with options for complimentary cups cappuccino and fresh ok from the bar. We enjoyed our stay and hopefully the bathroom issue was only in our room.

Just exceptional experience. Check in smooth and easy and I asked to upgrade my room and the request was handled speedily. Breakfast buffet was extensive and delicious. Pool was wonderful ... I opted for the beach. Right in front and many options of places to find a lounge chair with great cafe service. A must and I certainly recommend and will return.

We can’t sleep. The blanket is like thick paper, it makes noise everytime we move. Shower is so small, the curtain keep sticking to my body from the wind of the shower itself. I have to fight it which end up wet all over the whole bathroom. On the other hand, The check in person is awesome, she is kind & very helpful. The breakfast is great too. For the same rate we managed to move to other and newer hotel which is amazing for the rest of 4 days in Naxos.

We enjoyed our stay at Alkyoni! We liked being able to walk 10-15 minutes into the town and 25 minutes from the temple. The hotel was more secluded and therefore quieter. It has a beautiful ocean view and the ability to walk right out to the beach. Breakfast had a great variety and not just pastries. The room was clean and a little older, but it didn’t bother us. The staff were very helpful and friendly!

We stayed four nights at this hotel. On arrival we were greeted by the lovely Zoe from reception who took us to our room and chatted companionably to us giving us lots of information about the hotel and the island. While the hotel is in a lovely location the room did have shortcomings - there was a smell of drains coming from the bathroom (yes, it had a bath!), the toilet was so high my feet dangled above the floor and it was a climb into the bath/shower so definitely not suitable for an elderly person. The room itself was pleasant with a lovely private terrace but not really large enough to qualify as a 'standard triple'. The hotel is in a perfect location right by the beach but also within easy walking distance of the town. We spent some lovely lazy days there recovering from some active island hopping - this was our last stop and we were happy to just relax and this is the perfect place. At the end of our holiday we had the misfortune to hit a Greek ferry strike which meant we might have missed our flight home. Again Zoe was a major help in calling up different ferry companies and keeping us calm. All in all we had a lovely break here.

A place we will come back to over and over again! Didn’t see the movie Mama Mia,?but what I would have imagined it to be! The hotel was cozy and extremely well located to the best beach, well we think so, in Naxos. Also, our room was deleightful, with an amazing balcony with a sea view! What else could you ask for to wake up every day to that?
