This is the best possible place you can stay in when you are in the Kawaguchiko area. At $50 a night, the full on view you get of Mt Fuji is priceless. Beautiful private room (if you opt for that) which is clean and cosy. The only con is that it’s a shared bathroom but it was equipped with real good soap and conditioner and clean as well. Highly recommended.

Fabulous staff! So helpful! One woman helped me buy a bus ticket online when I couldn’t find the right information. She gave me ideas for food in Osaka.
The place was spotless and nice but freezing cold! Be prepared to cover up if you’re there in winter. I was told it’s a traditional bldg and the heating systems are per room.

No respect for guests

The staff here are more concerned about the hostel’s image rather than the guests paying to stay there. I tried to have my dinner in the common area/dinning area and was told it’s only restaurant guests. This information isn’t provided on the booking site nor at check in. I wouldn’t have stayed here knowing I would be kicked out of the common area for eating. They prefer to support their restaurant guests instead. This doesn’t create a positive hostel environment. It’s not social because guests are secluded to their rooms instead of the common area.

The large mixed dormitory has no lock on the door so anyone can walk in.

I stay one night in this hostel. Staffs are friendly. The location was fine with 10min walk from station and you will find few convenience shops around the hostel. There's bike rental and I have rent a bike to walk around Kawaguchiko and Saiko, which is great experience!! The only problem is there's very cold in shower room especially when you take a shower during cold period.

A great setting as a hostel. lovely attention to detail and great design/decor for this kind of setting. I was super pleased. The shared spaces are cool looking, employees super nice and speak great English, very helpful. Also a very cool vibe. The futons were a bit hard, I slept on futons that had a second mattress layer to make is not as floor-hard, so I had to put half of my duvet under me.

Stylish and chill hostel with great views

Stayed for 2 nights in the female dormitory, and loved the atmosphere of the hostel! Stylish blend of modern amenities and traditional architecture. Very clean and well-kept, and really enjoyed the amount of space offered in the female dorm (4 beds and plenty of room to stretch out/for luggage). The dorm window looked straight out onto Fuji which was amazing! The room was very warm and nights were quiet, so you can get a good sleep. Fellow solo travellers were also friendly and open to socialise if you wanted. Bar and dining/cafe downstairs was convenient, especially when you don't want to brave the winter chill at night, and both were open late. Staff were friendly and reception can help you book shuttles/activities/etc. if you need them, which I did when scheduling a shuttle to an onsen nearby.

Location is about a 10 minute walk from the station; as an fyi, I'd recommend arriving at the hostel during daylight hours (when you check in) since the surrounding streets are a bit more confusing at night as it's a largely residential area that is not very well lit. Usually not much of a problem (this is where a pocket wifi device comes in handy) but if you have lots of luggage, save yourself the hassle of navigating with baggage and in the dark. Worth noting that I still felt pretty safe though.

Also very close to several convenience stores, a large drugstore, shopping centre and a 15-20 min walk from the lake! Would stay here again! :)

Great place to stay

I and boyfriend had a wonderful time there. I read some reviews mentioning about the noise issue and I was little concerned prior to our stay. But we were lucky that everyone else staying there respected others and nobody was loud during late hours, so we didn’t have any problems during our stay. Staff were all so nice and friendly!

I had great time staying there for 2 nights. Very beautifully designed architecture and staff members maintained the facility clean and neat. Every staff member were very friendly and nice. ¥500 breakfast was simple yet unique selection of deli and it was totally worth trying! I’ll be back there again. Arigato!

Its a bit far from station but can walk. The room on 2nd floor can see Fuji-san, it can made your day.
Staffs are nice also the cafe on 1st floor too.

Unfortunately we stay here only 1 night, very recommended.

One Night are Not Enough

...But that the only time I had there. Checking were easy, entrance were grand with huge sliding door. Easy to locate as I walking from train station. My room are very spacious. Not much of facilities or deco in it, but I care less bout that. Ace for cleanliness. But toilet and shared shower room, not so big. Hanging out at lobby or cafe were relaxing. Had a good time there :D

Best hostel I've ever stayed in

Hands down, best hostel I've ever stayed in. 15 minute walk from train station. Beautiful view of Mt Fuji. Really clean bedroom, bathroom, kitchen. Coffee shop and outdoor patio were great. Best part was the friendly staff - they helped us figure out transportation to Kyoto and even called a bus company to make a reservation for us. Would recommend this place to anyone looking to stay near Fuji.

One of a kind hotel if you are looking for the place with reasonable price, lovely staff, and traditional yet hip and cool style to stay after the tiring hike from Mt. Fuji. Best Coffee in town also. Highly recommended!

The location is easy to find. I asked for the journey recommendation in kawaguchiko. They spared no effort to help you making the journey smooth. The design of the hostel is very nice too. I really like it.

If you don't want to sleep so early, remember to enjoy the bar inside hostel =]

Good value, comfy hotel and big room

Good value, comfy hotel big room with simply style and Mt. Fuji view from room. It was awesome. Cleanliness anywhere. Just one point not good for bed time was glass roof window could not close so when sunlight at 5.30 am a lot of light go thought in the room. 10- 15 min walked from Kawaguchiko bus station, closed to 7/11 and 15 min to lake. They provide bicycle rental at 500 yen/day such a great price. Overall is perfect!

友人と3人一部屋に宿泊しました。共有スペースから部屋まですべてがとてもおしゃれで、部屋からは富士山が大きく見えました。
部屋も広々としていて不満な点は一つもありませんでした。
サービスで紅茶とコーヒーが飲み放題でした。
cafeバーが併設されていて、閉店後は共有スペースとして利用できました。

施設についてはおおむね満足です。

今回はドミトリーでの利用でした。
ドミトリールーム入口がレストランの奥にあるため、レストラン利用のお客さんにラフな格好を見られる可能性があるので注意です。

夜間はレストラン営業後の片付けがあるので、若干音がします。私は気になりませんでしたが、音が気になる方は耳栓などあると良いかもしれません。

店内には猫ちゃんがいました。

ホステルとしてはとても居心地がいいオシャレな施設でした。タオル150円、カミソリ100円、南京錠150円、歯ブラシ50円、スリッパ50円と有料(使い捨てスリッパは無料)。今回女性限定の相部屋利用でしたが、中国系２人組とヨーロッパ系１人旅さんと同室でとてもグローバルでした。屋内は禁煙、外に喫煙エリアあり。部屋のベッドは広く、着替えや荷造りも楽々。窓から朝日が差し込んで気持ちよく目覚められます。窓にはカーテンがなく、壁や戸も遮音性はないので、気になる方はアイマスクや耳栓があるといいと思います。併設のカフェバーはお店として営業されていて週末は結構騒がしかったです。食事は特産物などではない普通のカフェメニューですが、私はこだわりがないので朝食も外のテラスで富士山を見ながらのんびり美味しくいただきました。近くにコンビニやマツキヨがあり、ホステルには冷蔵庫やレンジ、電気ポットもあるので持参もオススメです。駅まで徒歩10分程度と立地もよくロケーションもいいので、またぜひ利用させていただきます。

You can go to hotel by walk from Kawaguchiko Station (about 650m).
Family mart(about 300m).
You can see Fuji mt. while you lay down on bed.
You can rent bicycle (500 yen/1 person/all day).
After check out you can leave baggage and go to around the lake.
You should arrive at hotel before 6.00 pm because hard to go to at the hotel in nighttime.

Very welcoming place, would definitely recommend to anyone. Close to convenience stores and not too far from the train station. The way the beds are arranged allow intimacy, which is always nice in dormitories. The little “kitchen” is also a great bonus.

카와구치호 최고의 호스텔!

크게 기대를 하지 않고 간 숙소인데 마스터가 대단히 친절하셨고 일본어는 물론이고 영어로도 능숙하게 대응해주셨습니다. 방 크기도 사진에 본 것보다 컸고 침구는 매트리스인데 모두 커버를 씌워서 청결했습니다. 또한 1층에 식당/라운지/바가 있는데 저녁 식사를 거기서 해결할 수 있고 식사 수준이 매우 높습니다. 카와구치호 주변에서 저렴한 숙소를 찾으실 생각이라면 이곳을 적극 추천하겠습니다.

房間的照片跟實際入住的感受一樣，都十分有質感，雖然是共用衛浴，但清潔度與空間都相當令人激賞，距離河口湖車站走路在10分鐘以內，5分鐘內也可以走到大型的藥妝店與藥局，附近也有一家便利商店，若是不想出門，飯店晚間也有一些小食，價格都不貴，各式調酒一杯500日圓，相當佛心，這是我這次在河口湖的三天旅程中，最讓人印象深刻的地方，若是未來我會再去河口湖，一定是為了這間相當有設計感的青年旅館！

tranquillo e comodo, stazione vicinissima.

Abbiamo pernottato in questo ostello per due notti..con lo scopo di raggiungere il monte Fuji. Ci siamo trovati veramente bene, posto pulitissimo e comodo a due passi dalla stazione principale, dove passano gli autobus per raggiungere il Fuji.
