This is our property of choice when visiting MacKay, about 7 to 8 times a year. This is very convenient as the hotel restaurant is on premises.
The rooms are consistently very clean; housekeeping do a great job.

Unable to use our balcony due to smokers on balcony and having a younger child beside two adults smoking right beside us and only a small gate between. Couldn’t open the curtains unless wanting the pub to see right in to the apartment.
The shamrock is great for dinner and just walking over, but is pretty loud.
Ideally not a place for a family unless attending events at the shamrock or a smoker who can sleep through the deep and meaningfuls of the neighbouring guests on the balcony.

The toast, yoghurt, biscuits, tea& coffee with juice was a nice little bonus for their breakfast.

Clean unit, excellent cleaning staff are very attentive to detail. The breakfast they leave in the unit each day is good. Chairs need replacement. The shared balcony is not private enough to use. But it's generally quiet, clean, well appointed, and next to the Shamrock which has excellent pub grub. Not close to downtown or Caneland mall, but the nearby Botanical Gardens are nice to walk around. I've stayed multiple times and will be back.

Rooms are clean and quite spacious as is the bathroom. The washing machine and dryer to do a load of washing in the room was a bonus. The bistro meals were amazing and within a minutes walk of the room. Continental breakfast is great. I would absolutely recommend this hotel.

Check in was quick and easy. Reception staff very helpful. Rooms are spacious, beds are comfy. Close to shops, service station and major shopping centre in town and all within walking distance. Quiet location, even though the main highway is just on the other side of us. Didn't get to dine out this trip, but definitely look forward to staying at Shamrock Gardens again in the near future.
