Our stay at Nova Hotel was extremely disappointing. The room was unclean, with a strong, unpleasant smell and visible mould on the walls and ceiling. The mould was so severe that our child developed a bad cough during our stay — It was an unhealthy and distressing environment for a family.

This was truly a terrible and unprecedented experience. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, especially those traveling with children or anyone with health concerns. Basic cleanliness and safety should never be compromised. Very disappointed that this was even listed on a platform like Expedia.

Upon arrival u will feel it’s an abandoned building. No maintenance on exterior and common area. Only inside the unit is nice and clean. Hollow vibes when walking down the floor to find our units. The top floor is only for viewing or smoking corners. Nice view since it’s at the peak. Good place for big group gathering. Not recommended for family with young kids

Lacking of housekeeping alertness due to peak season during school holidays & weekend (towels, toiletries, cups). We couldn't enjoy the free wifi services due to different hp devices. Poor management alertness - withdrawal of 4 breakfast coupons. We had been given free upgrade from 2BR suite to 3BR apartment due to overbooked of 2BR suite & we thought of upgrading then we were given 4 breakfast coupons. Disappointedly, later the management noticed that it was their mistake of giving out the breakfast coupons & they called for refunding. We were actually quite disappointed & returned the coupons. Because of this, we had a nice & delicious Indian breakfast @ tanah rata.

Positive feedback:
~ Good & polite shutter bus service
~ Convenient, shopping mall just below, after 10pm, you still can get food from 7-eleven or some stall next to the building.

Negative feedback:
~ Furniture is old.
~ Floor was dusty.
~ Balcony was terrible dirty.
~ Toilet bowl with someone's pees unflashed.
~ Bed headboard was dirty and a lot of black spot.
~ Advertised as mountain view, but end up facing another building.
~ Renovation whole day until 1030pm.
~ Only 1 bathroom but advertised as 2 bathrooms.
~ In-house phone, trying to reach reception whole day but no one pick up. Not sure it is broken or no one picking up.
~ TV remote was broken or no battery?
~ Dining area without dining table & chairs
~ Ceiling fan, only in living area.
~ Reception was located in another building and no clear direction to it.
~ Noisy during night as too close to road, you can hear the sound from traffic clearly during midnight.
~ Corridor was dirty and a lot of rooms along the corridor was open / under renovation.

Customer Service is too poor. Front desk never pickup the call when required. Breakfast is really disappointing. Furniture was not cleaned properly. I was able to check in around 4pm after 1.5 hour of wait because room was not ready. Only good thing I’ve found is its surrounded by some of the park (Butterfly park, Strawbery park, O&R garden etc.) in walking distance, couple of food option nearby and kids activity as well.

The food was good. Room was average.
The most disappointing thing about this hotel is no way of communicating with the front desk. No one will pickup the call. I have to go all way down to another building to ask for anything.
During 3 days of my stay, not a single time they cleaned the room.
Cleaning staff doesn't know English and won't obey you when you request for cleaning.
Reception staff was saying they have less staff hence unable to manage.
I won't recommend this hotel to anyone.

I booked the Queen room hotel for 2 nights. Location was good as alot of shops nearby plus it's situated in the same building with a small mall. Lots of local food stalls around. Nearer to the peak of Mount Brinchang with about 30 mins drive up. Sure the rooms need some renovations and repair works but still livable. Enjoyed the cold fogs in the morning and night at the balcony. Receptionists are friendly, helpful and accomodating. Overall, I enjoyed my stay.

Unethical Way Of Marketing By Nova Highlands Hotel

This hotel misled customer. We ended up sharing a 3-room apartment with three group of strangers. It was not properly stated in the booking details that we were supposed to share apartments. I tried to upgrade to hotel room but have to top up more than what i have already paid. Then i tried to upgrade to master bedroom but they said there were no vacancy. At the apartment reception, you can meet other people who shared the same predicament. I made reservation using the HOTEL page but ended up in their APARTMENT.

Towel was not available upon check in, require to contact hotel staff twice before the towel is self collected at reception... Room slippers is not available, reason given is that they have limited stock available... Showerhead holder is damaged and algae stain can be seen at bath area. These are signs of bad maintenance and house keeping for a hotel which is less than 5 years old. Do not justify for the higher price when compare to nearby hotels of similar standard. The good point is that there are ample parking space and wifi coverage is stable.

Not a fantastic stay.

Upon checking in, we were given a dirty room. Bedsheets were taken off, messy and dirty. Rubbish on the floor and toilet was smelly. Front desk staff gave excuse as the system shows it is a clean room. We were given another room, but had to travel back to the reception counter again, with no upgrades or anything to make us happy for our stay. We missed 1 night for our stay due to our travelling time, and missed breakfast as well. At least they could have offered us breakfast as an apology. The room looked old, and dated. The remote control is not working. We could not bother to complain to the reception anymore for the malfunction. The price we pay for, is quite high for a room that has no aircon. We are good with opening the windows, getting the cold breeze of Cameron Highlands, but the price should be lower. What we only like is the malls below the hotel, restaurants like old town white coffee and dominoes pizza is accesible, because the breakfast is so awful in taste. We only enjoyed the porridge with condiments. The hotel is located near farms area and markets at walkable distance, which is wonderful. Will not consider this hotel in future stay. Do consider Capthorne which is their neighbouring hotel.

I'm very surprise with the hotel room size, equipment provided and also the cleanliness for only RM110/night at Cameron Highlands. Thanks to hotel.com too for giving such good accommodation for very cheap price. After read all the review here i'm not giving high expectation but it is different after stay at the hotel. I'm staying at the hotel and not the apartment. The parking is very large and easy in the basement, it is same parking with the Cameron square mall. The hotel receptionist is at 3rd floor. Register went smooth and my room at 4th floor. After enter the room, it smell good. I think they use some sort of fresher like febreeze. No cigarette smell at the lobby, walkway and in the room. The room is having 1 bedroom, private balcony facing the hill, separate tv hall with L shape sofa, small bar with table top with all dining utility. Microwave and freezer included. The hot water in the sink and shower work well. Soap, toothbrush, syampoo, razor, comb etc is provided. The hotel is on top of the mall so no problem to get a good food. Old town, hadramot, dominos pizza also there. In front of the hotel is small amusement park. Beside them is bee farm and taman rama-rama. Since my stay is during weekend and not a school holiday, so it is not very crowded. Surely will come again next time.

The property is marketed as a hotel but its barely a serviced apartment. The suite we got had faulty doors with broken locks in the rooms and bathroom fixtures were rusting. Very dated property. Reception was not helpful and there's not enough room service staff for the property - in-room meal we had on our first night dishes were only cleared away from our door the next night after several requests to have it cleared. In-room meal was also very bad with uncooked meat served as part of the meal.

Room was not ready when we check in at 4 PM. The receptionist promised she will call once the room is ready which she did about 15 minutes after. So it wasn't too bad. Room is spacious however the sofa really smelly. Nice location - cold weather, near to most attractions and easy to get food or other supplies.

It is an overall acceptable experience. However, the quality of stay may affect the otherwise beautiful view and location of the hotel. Situated near peak, the balcony gives a very nice view.

The bed sheets and pillows are the cause of my biggest dissatisfaction. The pillow emanates a smell that is seriously affecting my sleep and the sheets causes itch, sorta typical feel when it's unclean. I would seriously suggest putting a little more focus on housekeeping.

Morning breakfast many food items are spicy, my baby and children have limited choice.

The real condition is not as same as the photo show, no table lamp in the room.

One of the newer hotels but badly maintained

I stayed 2 nights in this hotel. It's located next to the butterfly farm and short distance to the bee farm. Only a few eating outlets nearby. The room is spacious. However, what's most disappointing is that the room is dusty and mouldy, badly maintained. The bed is uncomfortable. Sofa and bedsheets stained. Not recommended for long stay.

I stayed in family unit with two bedrooms and a living hall. The unit is spacious and infact can accommodate more than 4 people. The location of the hotel is very convenient. It's located in a small mall and you can find many restaurants there such as old town white coffee, nasi kandar, the tarik shop etc. Bee farm and Rose Garden within walking distance. Other famous places such as Raju's Strawberry farm, morning market and few others within 5 minutes driving. Overall very convenient place to stay.

Just a night and its enough

Terrible experience. Firstly, there were bare amenities given, just a small tube of shampoo and a round soap. Then, the sofa must have seen much better days. Made of poor cushioning and there is no comfort in sitting. You will literally sink into the sofa and will have a hard time getting up.
No teaspoon given. Requested for hair-dryer and it took us 3 calls and half an hour later. Hair dryer arrived with the sides sticky with dried coffee. The glass cup in the bathroom still has the last visitor's toothpaste stain on it. Totally gross. A very bad experience. Never staying here again.
