Positive: Super friendly and helpful staff, great location near the beach, access to beach chairs and towels, room was clean.
Negative: It was so loud in my room. I could hear everything happening on the street, even people just talking. There are no external walls, just frosted window blinds that did not open or fully close in places. It was also super bright outside all night long. If you are a light sleeper or need total darkness, I recommend ear plugs and a sleep mask.

This place was perfect for our stay in Waikiki! It was so close to the beach. The staff was amazing and attended to every need. They provided towels and other beach equipment. I appreciated that we were able to keep our bags there after we checked out for the day. I will definitely be returning to Stay Hotel.

The windows were blurred blinds that did not close, so you can hear everything. It was very noisy. The futon smelled and the bed was very springy. Overall, the room could be cleaner as the room amenities were questionable to use. And parking was full. They told us within two days we could get parking but it was full our whole stay.

The room was not the way the pictures show. The rooms are small and the bathroom was even smaller. Was being bite by something in the room. Reported it to front desk and also asked for a new room on Thursday and Saturday and i knew someone wasn’t in the room next to me and i was denied. The front desk employees were nice. Room was hot n ac didn’t work properly. Outlets didn’t work.

The staff was rude and unreasonable when it came to having guests. They even went as far as told my boss that he couldn't have any guests at all. The room was a closet everything packed in the small space that they refrigerator and microwave was jammed in the oddest corner to where the tv was in a uncomfortable angle that you could barely see from the bed. And the tv speaker was blown out and when I asked if we could change into a room with a working tv they simply said no with no explanation what's so ever. The bathroom for how small it was was actually niceish

The room was decent, albeit dated, with no major issues, other than some street noise on some nights. It is quite expensive for what you get, although I won't hold this against the property too much, as expensive accomodation is obviously the norm in Hawaii. In the grand scheme of things, this is cheap compared to most other properties in Hawaii.

Most of the staff were very nice and hospitable, with one exception.

One of the male cleaners was quite rude when I was trying to figure out the laundry situation. Essentially, the property only has two washing machines available for guests, to service the entire building. These are hidden away at the back of the property in the staff area. As these washing machines were in use when I went to go use them, the cleaner rudely told me to go away and come back when the cycles were complete. As there is nowhere nearby to wait for the machines to become free, when I came back, someone else had put their laundry in the machine. Once again, the cleaner rudely told me to come back. This system could definitely do with improving, and this cleaner could learn a thing or two about customer service.

Overall though, my stay was good, and I would recommend this to anyone looking for budget accomodation in Hawaii. Just be prepared to accept that it won't be the best experience you've ever had, but it will give you a good base to explore Hawaii, especially being based in the central location of Waikiki.

The room was very tidy and clean. Staff was great and had the Aloha spirit ! Very handy that beach towels, chairs, umbrellas and floaties were avail for us to tote to the beach which is less than a block away ! The coffee bar is a big thumbs up! The free laundry option came in handy when I needed to dry my brand new Hawaii beach towel I had purchased and used in conjunction with those available at the front desk. Had I not used the dryer for my towel I’d have had to pack it wet into my suitcase !! I personally plan on staying here again !

Area was traffic and construction loud and the bar downstairs went late. No shuttle from airport. Prepaid stay but upon arrival we were presented with an unexpected $180 USD Amenities charge I now understand why you get 5 free nights. Overall I would Not recommend 😒

The hotel is near a hotel construction site and it is very noisy in the morning. Trush truck comes early in the morning and it is noisy too. A bar on the 1/F operates unitl 2:00am. If you want to hear people sing, you can choose a room on the 2/F. So I would recommend to book any room 4/F or up. Free coffee in lobby is a plus.

parking space is limited and it is $45 per night. Some guests just blocked the exit when the garage is overparked.

I had a great time at Stay Waikiki. The location was perfect right next to Waikiki beach. The staff was friendly & the hotel was maintained and clean. The room was quite old and could definitely use a refresh. The cleanliness was acceptable. The staff was incredible, very helpful and welcoming but I was surprised by the additional 15$ added for every night stayed which added up to quite a bit for « amenities » (towels to bring to the beach, access to laundry which we used once, coffee or tea in the lobby which we don’t drink, wi-fi which did not work in our room and we asked everyday and they told us they would do something about it but it never got better…) I’d rather pay for laundry if and when I need it than get a surprise charge for things we don’t use or didn’t work.
On a more positive note, it was really well situated near the beach, bus stops, restaurants and stores.

We enjoyed our stay, clean room and we were greeted by a towel animal and chocolates! The beach equipment/ towels were life savers! In one instance, I forgot to apply sunblock and front desk provided some, super generous! Prior to our stay, I read reviews and people complained about the karaoke bar, street noise… I mean the hotel is a street away from the beach and it’s a high traffic area, you’re getting what you pay for.

Parking was at another location, still walkable as the hotel had sold out. No problem or issues. We parked at Waikīkī Banyan, walkable distance. No big deal.

If you’re a traveler, you’ll enjoy your stay, if you’re more of a vacationer and only staying at the property/ resort, I would not recommend the stay.

It was a cute room, clean, had frig, coffee pot and microwave such a plus. However, the tub had no plug to have a tubi, and the shower knob, did not work fully. So half water drsined from spout while lil made to shower head. The shampoo dispenser was empty. It did come with a free hawaii calendar and an awesome postcard to welcome you.

However, the lobby provided secure internet. Much ambient noise from the karaoke bar, traffic, and people bleeding through unclosable bathroom window. Loud a/c helped filter the noise so it wasn’t too bad. Room temp great. Free coffee bar in lobby. Has elevator!

Wasn’t able to extend checkout due to flight being a little pushed back and wasn’t going to the airport till 9 hours later. I asked 3 days prior awas told to ask the day of and that I would be able to pay an extra fee to extend but was told no when it came time. Cleaning staff was always pleasant. We were right downtown, 2 blocks feom the beach which made it nice for food and beach time. We do plan on revisiting Hawaii, and will more than likely use the same hotel.

The staff was very nice and the karaoke bar in the lobby is awesome but the actual hotel room is horrible.

The mattress was so soft and uncomfortable and the bathroom is so small that you have to get into the corner of the bathroom to close the door or wash your hands.

The absolute worst thing was the incredibly loud area around the hotel. The windows in the room are louvre style and don’t block out any noise or light. The lights directly outside the windows are so bright it looks like daytime when it’s the middle of the night. Garbage trucks, street cleaner, big rigs delivering product happened 24 hours per day and we couldn’t sleep at all in the 2 days we stayed there.

The hotel is very centrally located which is great but if you can’t sleep because it’s so loud, it’s not worth it.

Only stayed here for a night for our layover and suited all our needs. Staff were lovely and location is super convenient for food and the beach. Only downside was some loud noise in the early AM hours due to construction which disrupted sleep and noticed that the door lock under handle didn't work. Other than night, good place to stay for a night and felt relatively safe.

One block away from Kalākaua behind the Hyatt. It’ll get a tad bit noisy depending on where your room faces but bring some ear plugs and you’ll be fine. The staff were seriously one of the nicest I’ve ever experienced in a hotel. The free coffee and laundry made the entire stay well worth it.
