It is good for the price. Rooms are decent and clean. Pool and gym are quite average not really a 5 star IMO but i would say there is a range. I stayed in Leela palace last time which is quite good but also over twice the price. I didn’t like few things in the bathroom like high toilet seat even for 6ft me and also no bath tub. Other than that room was all good.

The property is not well maintained. Bathroom fixtures, tables, cabinets and closets are dated. Staff appears to be very helpful but there is not much coordination amongst them. They are very courteous. Food is over priced, doesn’t deliver on the expected value.

Everything was good but most importantly the communication part. As we had to check out very early in the morning, we decided to pay the full amount the previous night in order to avoid any delay. Well only to know that while we were returning the keys to the front desk, one person there mentioned that we need to pay the tariff for the room. The front hotel staff could have mentioned the same to us to avoid any inconvenience to us the next morning. There was a lack of communication and also giving us the correct invoice. Because S mishap, we were delayed for our Grihapravesham function, as family and friends were waiting for us.

The accord hotel is a decent hotel but definitely not a 5 star. The rooms need refurbishment and were a bit smelly (dampness). The Wifi was really bad and weak. The staff were so slow but helpful and friendly.

Check in was strange and slow and check out was equally slow. Breakfast options were available but limited continental food and the service was extremely slow. They do have a nice rooftop restaurant with good food and live music.

Overall they need to invest in refurbishing the rooms, train staff to be quicker...chnage their check-in procedure as they make guests feel they dont trust the immigration authorities at the airport and that qe have to preaent our documents, visa and show them the entry stamps.

Room smell was terrible. Inside the room it smelt like mold in the AC. The bedsheets smelt strong that I had to inform the hotel. The housekeeping changed the bedsheets and sprayed room freshener but the smel did not go away we spent our one day (and night) in the smell itself :(

The staff were very nice. Considering the unsafe neighborhood, security was good and I’m glad it was in place! Walking around ‘outside’ the hotel did not feel safe.

The staff working the food area were VERY attentive, friendly, welcoming and provided helpful recommendations.

Advertisements imply 3 (three) restaurants but in reality, I was offered 1 (one) restaurant and had to request items not on the buffet. The buffet seemed to offer the same options every day and tasted nice. The items I ordered off the buffet were DELICIOUS!

Awesome place with a great staff. Stayed for a couple of nights for US visa work and this was an ideal location for visiting the VAC and the embassy. Staff is familiar with the visa process and have a good grasp of Hindi/English, so communication was easy and straightforward. They have some sort of a 'visa' package, which apparently includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the in-house restaurants; which was a blessing as roaming outside in Chennai in the summer is not fun. All the restaurants were buffet-style, with a really eclectic spread of dishes - was fun trying everything out :) Gym primarily had cardio equipment, which was good enough for me. Only a couple of minor gripes - the in-house cab rate was definitely on the higher side, but it's the price for convenience and I was OK with it. Neither of the chairs in the room were that comfortable, though the bed was perfectly fine.

Pros: Excellent overall experience, great staff and service, tasty breakfast buffet, nice open area in lobby

Cons: Some rooms are a bit old including legacy ACs that don't work very well. Not enough plug points. Only one room key per room makes it very inconvenient when traveling with family, since the key is also needed to operate the lift.

Will not return and will not recommend the hotel.
1. There was mold in inner shower curtains
2. Dining staff cleans table with a towel, then a side plate on the table with the same towel and replaces cutlery on top !
3. Overwhelmingly undesirable smell in the room. Which encouraged me to stay outside as much as possible.
4. There was only one hand towel which looked used, when requesting for more hand towels, just got one more.
All in all compares very unfavorably to the amenities in any 5-star or 4-star property I have stayed in the past.

Stayed here for 3 nights. Staff was very friendly, and accommodated my last minute travel needs to go around the city. The breakfast spread was pretty good. I would probably say that my only disappointment is for a hotel like this, the bar should be 24x7. That would be a good improvement I would like to see if I am to come back again. The Property is on prime location hence all the time is crowded, waited closed to 1 and half hours for check-in and 10 t0 15 minutes even to find a space for the breakfast. The Rooms require renovation, no support for Universal plugs and i waited for a day for the support team to provide me one. Bathroom fittings, Air conditioner all are 20 years old.

The Good Stuff:
The food was excellent at their restaurants. We had breakfast daily at the The Brick Oven and also tried the dinner buffet at Royal Indianaa. The room service food was equally yummy.
The front office staff, concierge staff, restaurant staff are all very commendable. Special mention would be doorman Roshan. He always had warm greetings for us and took great interest to know if we had a good day and was genuinely concerned when we told him about a mishap we had during the trip.

The Not So Good Stuff:
The rooms need some upgrading or better maintenance especially the toilets/shower facilities. I don’t see much improvement from my previous visit 5 years ago.
Housekeeping staff gave us a really hard time during this trip. Everyday they would forget to replenish something, most of the times it was towels. If you get bath towels you don’t get face towels and vice versa. Mid way through our trip, we were woken up at 4.30am by constant slamming of the door. After 20 minutes of trying to ignore it, we went to check and realized it was the housekeeping staff cleaning the room next door but without putting a door stopper. So every time they went in and out the door slammed.

Would recommend this hotel for it’s centralized location and good food options.

The catering team deserve a medal. The manager, chefs and waiters were so helpful. You ask a nd you get. They had a permanent smile on their face. I went to Chennai for dental treatment and it
was no hassle to them to offer me liquidised food and on a daily basis asked if I was OK. Their concern was very genuine.

Location is good, staff are friendly. Food was poor and did not even come close to my expectations especially since the CEO is a celebrity chef. The breakfast spread was pathetic with tiny quantities laid out. The bathroom had mould in all corners, the walls were peeling because of moisture and I would not even be ready to touch the bathtub grip because it was a breeding ground for mould and bacteria. I was stuck in the hotel because I pre-paid through Expedia and was put through a rigmarole when I requested a cancellation. Never will I ever give Expedia a credit card in the future for Hotel accommodation.

However we wish to highlight one aspect of our stay at the Accord Metropolitian Chennai wherein a better approach could have been taken for guests. Our flight was at 12 midnight and we spoke to the hotel front desk regarding this matter if we could have a late checkout as what we did with most of the other hotels we stayed in (including Marriott Dehli & Surat, Le’Meridian, Sahara Star Mumbai and many more) unfortunately we were met by one of the room’s manager called Sivakumar who refused outrightly to extend our check out time. We were honestly very surprised and definitely sure he must be an Inexperienced Manager in dealing with guests because we had actually stayed with them for nearly “24 Nights (3rooms x 8 days = 24)”!! and he could not extend until 7pm ( JUST FIVE HOUR!! ). Instead, he questioned us why we booked through other apps and not through the hotel apps. We were also told that the other apps were cheaper therefore he could not extend our time. In fact we paid nearly RM 7,000(RINGGIT MALAYSIA RS 126,000 to book the 3 rooms. We do not think that’s CHEAP!!. We are highlighting this issue mainly for guests who are booking in with children, babies and aged people who might also have a late night flight. For these people, we would suggest, kindly confirm with the hotel before booking. Our strong recommendation is, Sivakumar (the said room manager) should be incharge of other departments and certainly not in connection with handling guests.

We refer to the above and to our holiday & stay in Accord Metropolitan, Chennai which turn out to be a very memorable stay indeed.

We booked three (3) rooms for 8 days stay in Chennai.

The reception staffs when we arrived were very courteous, warm, very hospitable and very welcoming least to say. What we experienced turned out very well, especially “Rizwan” at the reception was very pleasant, full of smiles and most accommodating at that wee hours of the night.

We are frequent travelers and we normally checkout the properties before planning a booking but with these hotel we had no time to do so and what we experienced, was very pleasing.

These hotel really stood out in their 5-star ranking.

Firstly, the buffet breakfast had an array of food to test our palates, was delicious and enjoyable. Although, the hotel was packed with guests, the staffs like Vinod, Pradeep and Karthik were able to give their best and we were never short of service during breakfast time. The ambience was very good.

Next, the rooms were clean, tidy, comfortable, cozy and spacious. The housekeeping was excellent. Most of all, the front desk manager/executive Ms.Leena was very helpful, dedicated, courteous and most suited to the job, who knows to cater the needs of her guests, and so with Koushik Choudhary (Guest Facilitation Manager) and Bala.

Our hope for a luxurious stay over the last few days of our family holiday was ruined after the first night at the hotel. We felt suffocated with smell of damp/moist in the two rooms we booked and in addition, there was strong smell in the corridors due to renovation work going on on the floors. Two of our sons got ill with cough and cold, sleeping was impossible for everyone. We felt helpless. Our repeated pleas and requests not considered seriously, however on the second night we were moved to rooms even worse than the previous once . Was shocked to see the walls, ceilings were moist and full of patches and paint peeling off walls due to damp and moisture. On the third midnight, out of despair we called again and finally the manager in the night shift considered our plea and visited our rooms inspected first hand the state of the rooms and felt sorry for us and immediately shifted us to a two much better rooms
The management should give priority to the wellbeing of their guests shouldn’t put them in a health hazardous environment.
Unable to bear the last couple of bad days/nights at the hotel, we had already booked a different hotel for the rest of the holiday presuming that the issue was not going to be sorted. In a nut shell, it was the worst stay at this hotel, completely ruined our stay. We have stayed at so many hotels, even lower star than this, had never experienced anything worse than this.

While overall experience was good there were sore ☹️ points. We were given a room where renovation work was going on .As such there was lot of dust in the area. Also there was constant hammering sound for more tna an hour on Monday afternoon.The second disappointment was the man who checked us in at the front desk. He was not very helpful. The other negative is the photo taken of the guests for security. I understand the security at the immigration in airport. Not at the hotel where we are paying guests.

I had an amazing stay at The Accord though it was only for a short while.. I must say the staffs were very professional, polite, accommodative and very helpful. It’s a great place to stay at if you wanna do shopping in T. Nagar and Pondy bazaar. It’s about 3-4mins away by public transport. It was my first time in India and the hotel services have went way beyond my expectations. Overall, it’s worth staying at The Accord and a MUST! 😬
