This time, my stay was better. Also I noticed that staffs are more alert, friendly and willingness to help. Partly due to my last negative feedback few months back. The hotel mgmt has been alerted, and took several precautions and measures,to polish up and toughen up the hotel service standards in terms of managing, handling of foreign guests,in areas such as Front reception to housekeeping. The front desk staff are more alert, tactful, and professional handling check in/check out, they are also friendly, warmth and helpful. I had a great opportunity to meet and dine with the hotel GM. He is really concerned about my past experiences staying in the hotel, he was open minded, a great listener, to our geniune feedback, a man of actions and not words. He give hotel guest assurances for better improvement in their hotel services. This time, my room (#528) has a faulty bedside lamp, the techy staff came, to reconnect the electrical wire embedded in the lamp mounting, they repaired it quite instantly. As for the food quality during breakfast, it was great. The food was delicious. The chicken curry, the Indian prata, the Indian potato curry, the black bean fish,nasi goreng, simple fried cabbage were done so perfectly, which reminds me of homecook food. Just simple, nice and warmth in my stomach. Thanks to Chef Mark and his team. Restaurant staff were good, helpful, willingness to serve. The front security staff, guarding the main door, they were also helpful, alert and kind. TQ🙏😍

Check in on 9 June evening, reception has difficulty to find me a room. They finally found a room on second floor (#rm 237),low floor, they said is an upgraded room for me. However, it was noisy at night, a lot water water pipping sound, worst mosquito in room. I got stung 3 times on my arms, bad swollen. Swell did not reduced even though I applied medicine. Shower room is a standing shower, rusted a little, water splashing out all directions, shower head is old and rusted. My stay in this hotel is worsening, everytime I check in. Each time, I had different bad experiences. Last trip, about 2.5 months ago. I had bed bugs bite. The only thing I like, is the hotel location, near to my partners office and the food (breakfast) in coffee house were good, coffee house staff were good too

This time, I stayed in this hotel, I encountered bed bugs, I got bitten on my lower right arm, 4 bites. First time I encountered inhygenic mattress or bedding. The bite marks are still on my arm till now takes time to recover even you apply medicine.

No AC no hot water staff useless

The hotel itself was clean and in a good location. The AC did not work. The hot water did it work. We were offered to switch rooms and the AC didn’t work well in the next room. The next morning we checked out early and they stopped our driver from taking us to the airport because they wanted us to pay a few dollars for food when our room should have been fully refunded. We almost missed our flight. I wouldn’t stay here again.

Too much noise!!!

Hotel location is good, service is good, facilities are old but it's ok.
The problems is I didn't sleep well for 2 nights because there was celebration and loud music outside the hotel, and the room is very noisy. I didn't sleep until 2am so it's really annoying. I think there is a club outside hotel, it plays musc so loud and the room isn't sound proofed at all.

Location was good. Near to Shwedagon Pagoda. Good eateries within walking distance. Friendly and polite staff.
Some waitresses need more training in serving guests. Can avoid spillage of beverages.

Throughout my 5 days there, breakfast was almost the same. Spread was ok. But to eat the same dishes for 5 days was quite boring.
Hotel to have options for shower room instead of bathtub for older guests in rooms. It was difficult for my mum during our stay and it tends to be slippery even with the anti slip mat.

The hotel service was excellent, that is normal in Myanmar. The food was good, but wine choice was very limited. The rooms are getting a bit old now and they are quite noisy, being on a main road. I stayed in 2 rooms, in one the air con did not work and in both the bathroom certainly needed an upgrade. It was good value for money, more 3star than 4star. Not sure how they get a 4star rating.

We had some minor communication issues when we extended our reservation since three members of staff had to ask us although we indicated the first day. Juices at breakfast could have been better. The room was comfortable but dated. Very small TV and no electrical outlet in the washroom. It seems that every night there is some special (noisy) event in the park. Coriander Leaf is a great restaurant right next door! Really good coffee shop right next door to the restaurant. The park is right across the street and Shwedagon Pagoda only a 20 minute walk.

Lovely Hotel Located near the Park.

The hotel is quite comfortable with decent size rooms, premium bedding, a refrigerator and great AC. The hotel has been maintained quite well, but is a bit dated. The service is excellent and it offers a huge breakfast buffet. The best part of the hotel is that it is across the street from the people's park where one can walk on concrete paths under the canopy of trees. The rates are quite reasonable.

Disappointing interior furnishing,no ceiling light

There is no ceiling light in the room, only the bedside lamp and the table lamp. Something the management should consider to install some ceiling lights. Other than that, the room furnishing is a tad too old. The breakfast is reasonably good, with some local Burmese food.

Nice hotel convenient to Shwedagon Pagoda

This hotel was quite nice and a good value in Yangon. Its biggest advantage is proximity to Shwedagon Pagoda. The hotel itself was clean and comfortable, and included a very good breakfast free in our package. Staff were attentive and the room was clean and well stocked, although the entire hotel is a little dated, but not terribly so. If you're looking for shopping as well, not a great location as it is away from the downtown area, but taxis are available and there are other good dining options nearby besides the hotel restaurant (at which we only ate breakfast).

Our five day stay at this hotel was the best value of money we have had at any of the many hotels we have stayed in Asia or europe in the last three years. Everything about it was excellent. The only shortcoming we found in it was the absence of a non skid bath mat in the bathing area / a handle on the wall to hold on to in having a bath. As senior citizens this was a matter of much concern to us whenever we had a bath.

Nice hotel lobby and common places. Not the newest and state-of-the-art, still ok. However, if you are placed next to smokers in non-smoking rooms, best of luck to you. The ventilation of cigarette fumes is really poor and smoke smell linger on forever. Passive smoking is bad for health.

I enjoyed staying in this hotel - the rooms were fine, though they could have used plug points in more convenient places, air conditioning was fine, reception and laundry was fine. Perhaps too many twin beds rather than queens talking to colleagues who were also at the hotel, but I couldn't say for sure. The bar looked a little faded. At times the restaurant seemed too small for the number of customers, particularly if a tour group was involved. The menu was a little limited, though it was competitively priced. I'd stay here again. D

I stayed at this hotel years ago before it was renovated. I must say they have done a great job in bringing this hotel up to international standards. Everything worked well in the room; the staff are well trained and they genuinely like to serve others. And they have great meeting facilities as well if you want to combine a bit of business in with taking in the sights of Yangon. I stayed 7 nights and I had zero negative experiences.

The hotel is a bit old but for the price and location compared with hotels, it was reasonable value. Bathroom of premier double room was bit cramp, good to have only shower area and no bathtub, but floor design meant there was bit of flooding. Not enough hanging area in bathroom.

Nearby restaurants were convenient for dinners. Breakfast spread was good and staff very friendly. There was even live traditional music during selected mornings in the lobby.

My only complaint is that the park across the street plays very loud music at night, making it difficult to sleep. The hotel is clean and the staff extremely helpful and speak well in English.
The swimming pool is not available due to renovation work and this did not matter to us as we were there only for 4 days and wanted to go out and explore. The Shwedagon pagoda is only a walking distance and the other attractions can be reached by taxis which are relatively cheap and you can nogotiate the price first.
The breakfast is good with plenty of choice.

Arrived at the hotel at 0600 (overnite bus from Bagan) and was initially advised that check in was not until 3PM. Desk clerk did say she would try to let me check-in sooner if a room became available. Ninety minutes later I was in my room. Kudos to the clerk for the early check-in. Hotel room was sparse but clean, good a/c and WiFi connection. Biggest drawback was a musty smell in the room which I eventually became accustomed to. Hotel is in a good location opposite The People's Park and an easy walk to the Shwedagon Pagoda. Hotel restaurant offered varied luncheon menu and the food and service was good. Found several decent restaurants within a short walk of the hotel. Also some decent looking restaurant across the road from the Pagoda.

First of all, if a traveler has not been to Myanmar, they have to understand that there is not a lot of hotels to choose from compared to more developed countries, although that is changing. So if you're going to stay at a hotel from most western standards, you'll pay as much as you would at home. We payed about $120 to stay at Summit Parkview, because we read it had good reviews, and it was close to the Shwedagon Pagoda. We were not disappointed, but not overwhelmed either. First, the positive. The breakfast was excellent, with a variety of choices from juices, eggs, and local fare. The lobby was well done, from its decor to the cleanliness. The staff was very attentive, and helpful. The underwhelming part was the room. I would say it was more in line with a Best Western, or Holiday Inn, that hasn't quite been updated yet. From the photos, and the description, the hotel is portrayed as upscale. Yes and no. If you have the mindset that it's western upscale, no. If you compare to most hotels in Myanmar, yes. That is the key. You aren't in the west. Overall, if you want to spend a bit more, be close to the Shwedagon Pagoda, have a great breakfast, nice, clean lobby, but modest room, then this is your hotel. Lastly, I didn't try the gym, since I figured I am doing miles of walking as a tourist anyway.

Unfortunately the pool was closed as there are building works going on (no noise from the building works though) which may explain the reduced prices. Being out of the congested downtown area its easy to get around Yangon by taxi from here - coffee shop and restaurant next door, park opposite, and views of the Shwedagon pagoda.

I was visiting Yangon for the first time as a tourist, for three days. I neede somewhere that was \"foreigner friendly\", comfortable and convenient. Overall, this hotel met those criteria.
Unfortunately, they have just started renovation of the spa area, so there was daytime building noise.
For other tourist sites, a taxi was required but they were plentiful and,after some bargaining, cheap.
I also visited Sule pagoda and the surrounding old town area with it's colonial buildings. The highlight of my visit though,was a trip on the Yangon Circle line train. An unforgettable 3 hours. I also stumbled acroos the Rangoon War Cemetery.
Taxi to and from the airport was easy to flag down.

This hotel is little bit dated but that is part of its charm. The staff are amazing. Helpful, pleasant interested and keen to talk. They were always ready with a genuine smile which never seemed designed to illicit a tip. It was a 5 minute walk from the shwedagon and an interesting 20 minute walk in to town.

The hotel is clean and the staff is friendly. It is located close to a lot of attractions and party spots. China town is not that far either. Good for business mainly or short stays if you plan to run around in Yangon. But if you are looking for a luxurious experience, its not the right place.

A hotel in a great location for tourists

This hotel provides good value for money and is fine for a short stay, especially as it is close to the main tourist area and about 1 km outside the very busy city centre. The swimming pool and gym are also of a high standard for a mid range hotel. I thought the rooms were a little basic and not that comfortable, but fine for a few nights. The same probably applies to the restaurant, which is not up to the standard of that at higher end hotels, but is more than sufficient.
